Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp is an eco-friendly safari camp just outside of Kimana Gate in the southeast area of the Amboseli National Park in Kenya.

As a small, tented camp, Tulia offers an intimacy like no other camp in the area. Each tent opens to Mt Kilimanjaro and offers wonderful views of both sunrise and sunset. The welcoming restaurant and lounge overlook a very active waterhole where daily visits from elephant, giraffe, zebra, eland, cheetah, lion, zebra, wildebeest, warthog, gazelle, waterbuck, gerenuk among others, offers guests an up close, intimate experience.

Enjoy the African Sunset during our daily sundowners at the campfire and reminisce about your day’s safari with other guests.

Enjoy cereals, fresh fruit, and pastries along with a hot breakfast in the morning. For lunch we offer the option of a packed lunch on safari or a cooked 3-course lunch back at the camp, depending on your plans for the day. In the evening, our chef will prepare a delicious 4-course meal that can be accompanied by a selection of fine wines or a drink from the fully stocked bar.

The highly trained chefs will cater to any dietary restrictions.

Our kitchen uses locally sourced fruit and vegetables, and we grow as much seasonal items as possible in our on-site shamba (garden).

Daily fresh baked bread and pastries are enjoyed and who can resist freshly popped corn by the campfire under the stars to complete the evening!

I visited this beautiful property in the wilderness just outside the gates of Amboseli. It’s a myth that one needs to stay inside the park. I would stay at this property any day. You face Mt. Kilimanjaro and usually have elephants visit you every evening. The service is fantastic and when on safari one needs to get the full experience which is what this camp does for you. Very comfortable with excellent food. Yes! Very very highly recommended.

The deluxe safari tents have a large deck and their own plunge pool sunken into the large front deck. Directions for travel by road

Head south from Mombasa Road on C102. Turn right onto C103 to Amboseli national park. Just before arriving at Kimana gate, take the last road on the right. Follow this road to the end where it turns right and heads into the camp.

Tulia Amboseli safari camp is a mid- range accommodation found just outside Kimana Gate in the southeast part of the Kenya’s  Amboseli national park. The camp is a little oasis with the amazing views on Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa’s highest mountain) and waterhole. The park is big covering 3000  square km area in Kenya and across the borders of Tanzania. You can  either be in the park by road or  air  transport which takes about  240km  driving  Nairobi -arusha road through Meshanani gate and 228Km on Nairobi -mombasa road  and 45 minutes to fly from Nairobi to close airstrip amboseli . The camp is convenient and affordable to tourists and travellers who want explore the park with its breathtaking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and surrounding areas.

Tulia Amboseli safari camp consists of 20 beautiful and comfortable raised tents overlooking the amazing view of Mt. Kilimanjaro and waterhole built in African traditional  style with modern comfort.  Tents are well decorated, elevated on a raised platform and furnished with privacy and tranquility.   Each Tent has its own private en -suite facilities of flushing toilets , a bathroom with hot and cold showers ,Mosquito nets , air conditioning , Flat screen TV’s ,  hair driers, free toiletries, complementary bottled water, white beddings etc. Tents have verandas, sitting areas  and  private balconies with a cozy atmosphere, you relax while overlooking the beautiful view of mount Kilimanjaro , the park and animals along the waterhole  . The camp have excellent and comfortable tents with clean and  washed  beddings.  Tent are in different categories and size with single beds for individuals, double /twin beds for sharing as well as family tents.  The camp has  fireplaces  that  provides warmth to clients during nights. Rooms cost 300$ and above per night. But prices differ in different season where in peak season the price goes slightly high.

A restaurant in the main building that serves different meals both international and African- inspired meals that meet guest’s choice. Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp offers 20 luxury safari tents, 10 of which have their own plunge pool. All tents (one family tent included) are beautifully decorated with locally sourced and handmade furniture.  It has a queen size bed or two twin beds, a bathroom with rainfall shower and a cozy terrace outside. Each tent is facing Mount Kilimanjaro and offers wonderful views of both sunrise and sunset. Enjoy this scenery while feasting on delicious three course meals, made by highly experienced chefs. There’s a new menu daily, filled with fruits and veggies from the onsite ‘shamba’ (Swahili for kitchen garden) and the local market.

Additionally, the shamba is not the only eco friendly feature. Since its renovation in 2021, this camp solely runs on solar power. There is a system for wastewater, it has filtered drinking water and it even cools the harvest in an eco friendly charcoal cooler. Combine this with breathtaking sceneries, an excellent service and a blazing fire in the firepit at night, and you know: Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp can only make you feel good.. inside and out!
