Very famous rapper Drake played two concerts in Austin this week as part of his “It’s All a Blur” tour. And yes, he dined and drank at two downtown restaurants and bars after his Moody Center shows : modern Japanese restaurant TenTen and cocktail lounge Devil May Care .

A rep for the restaurants shared with Eater that Drake went to TenTen with a bunch of friends after his Monday, September 11th show. The group ordered wagyu tacos, charred edamame, and passionfruit-tequila-seltzer cocktails.

And then, after Drake’s Tuesday, September 12th concert, he hosted a private party at Devil May Care with his group and famous people like basketball player Kevin Durant and DJ/music producer/ Olivia Rodrigo’s ex-boyfriend Zack Bia. Drake’s touring DJ played music and there were cocktails like lemon drops, as well as tequila and vodka drinks.

Drake did post an Instagram story selfie of himself at the TenTen’s bar with a cocktail.

Drake heading to Moody Center in Austin for 'It's All A Blur' tour with 21 Savage

drake tour austin tx

Canadian hip-hop mega star Drake will hit the road this fall for his first tour since 2018's "Aubrey and the Three Migos" outing. The "It's All A Blur" tour was first announced in March with Houston and Dallas dates, but no Austin appearance.

On Monday, tour promoter Live Nation announced a dozen new dates including a stop at the Moody Center in Austin on September 11.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday at drakerelated.com and moodycenteratx.com . Drop by drakerelated.com for information about pre-sales.

In the five years since his last tour, Drake has released four studio albums, including his most recent "Her Loss," a collab album with 21 Savage, who will join Drake on the tour.

Drake was an Austin regular for a few years in the mid 2010s

Drake's last appearance in Austin was in 2016, when he kicked off his "Summer Sixteen" tour at the Erwin Center. This was during Austin's peak Drizzy era. The rapper, who makes no secret of his love affair with Houston, was practically a regular in the Texas capital. Earlier in 2016, the Toronto rapper made a surprise pop up at the Fader Fort during South by Southwest week . The performance include a gospel choir performing Ginuwine's "Pony" and an explosive performance of "Energy."

In 2015, Drake lit the night on fire with two headline sets at Austin City Limits Music Festival. To preview the show we conducted an emotional, in-depth (imaginary) interview with the artist .

Her Loss, Austin's Gain

Rapper drake speeds into austin as part of 'it's all a blur' tour.

Drake

Drake will perform at Austin's Moody Center on September 11 and 12 as part of his "It's All a Blur" tour.

Update: Drake has added a second Austin tour date on September 12. The rest of this story and following tour dates have been updated to reflect this, as well as one additional night each in Columbus and Charlotte.

Superstar rapper Drake is bringing his 2023 "It’s All A Blur" tour to Austin's Moody Center on Monday, September 11 and 12.

This new date is part of an additional 12 shows added to the tour, which kicks off in Memphis on June 29. Drake will travel to 27 cities across North America over the course of three months, with multiple shows in some cities. (New York has seven.) In addition to Austin, Drake will also go to Dallas on September 14 and 15, and Houston on September 17 and 18. These dates have been rescheduled to accommodate the additions.

This will be Drake’s first tour since going on the road with Migos in 2018, which also included stops in Dallas and Houston.

The title of the tour is in reference to the nearly unprecedented level of success the rapper has had in his career, with all seven of his solo albums — including 2022's Honestly, Nevermind — reaching No. 1 on multiple Billboard charts. His most recent album — Her Loss , a collaboration with 21 Savage — also went to No. 1, continuing the streak.

Presales for the new dates will begin on April 26 with the Cash App Card and April 27 with Sprite . General sales begin on April 28 starting at noon at drakerelated.com and MoodyCenterATX.com .

Comedy News

Ellen degeneres says bye on final standup tour with stop in austin.

Comedian Ellen DeGeneres is saying goodbye to touring with Ellen’s Last Stand… Up , a farewell tour that includes a stop at ACL Live at the Moody Theater on Saturday, July 13.

The 21-city tour, which starts on June 19 in San Diego, California, will culminate with a taping of her show in Minneapolis, Minnesota for a to-be-named special that will debut on Netflix later in 2024.

In addition to Austin, other Texas stops include Dallas on July 10 and San Antonio on July 12.

DeGeneres, of course, is a longtime mainstay in the comedy business, having gotten her start in the early 1980s and appearing on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1986.

She is best known for the sitcom Ellen , which ran from 1994 to 1998, and on which both she and her character came out as gay. She followed that up with the daytime talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show , which ran for almost 20 years until its end in 2022.

That ending didn't come without controversy, however, as DeGeneres was accused of fostering a "toxic work culture" at the show, allegations which led to the firing of three of the show's producers.

Tickets for the tour will be available starting with an artist presale on Thursday, May 30 ahead of the general on-sale on Friday, May 31 at 10 am at LiveNation.com .

drake tour austin tx

DALLAS — Superstar pop artist Drake is the latest to join the rising number of wealthy individuals in Texas by purchasing a 313-acre ranch in Brenham, a small town about two hours south from Dallas in Washington County.

The luxurious property, called The Inn at Dos Brisas, cost the Canadian pop musician $15 million and was purchased in October 2023, according to reports. The property is located at 10000 Champion Drive, between Highways 290 and 6 and TX-105.

“Me and my partna’, we done gone country on y’all,” Drake said in a Southern accent in a  video  shared to social media. “We said we was gonna do it for a lot of years and we’re doing it today. The sale is made. We gotta drop a new one for this. If you see your girl at the ‘Lover Boy Lane’, it’s over.”

Drake, a self-proclaimed “Lover Boy,” had been looking to buy a Texas property for some time after his “It’s All a Blur Tour” ended on April 5.

The ranch was built in 2000 by Houston tech giant  Doug and Jennifer Bosch . It’s surrounded by pristine nature like lush trees and flowers along with three ponds already stocked with fish. Though it had been operational as a resort for 17 years, it closed its doors in 2022.

The property was turned into a resort in 2004 and features a farm, greenhouse, equestrian facility, restaurant with a 7,000-bottle wine cellar, large pool, hot tub and a tennis court.

“Dos Brisas is a rare legacy ranch property that offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the right buyer, which we were able to find once we listed it bringing the price in line with the market conditions at the time,” Tonya Currie, the listing manager, said in a statement to  CultureMap . The ranch sold within 90 days of its full list price.

“[It] has proven that it can and has been the best in its class as a restaurant and inn,” she said.

During his Houston leg of his latest tour, Drake also made a vow to Texans that he’d be in the area more frequently.

“I had to make it official first, but I’ve been looking for a long time, trying to figure out, you know, the right place for me to live, where I belong outside of Toronto,” he said to a packed arena at the Toyota Center. “And I finally, finally after all these years, I found me a place in Houston, Texas. So y’all will be seeing me around.”

Drake, who is also the founder of OVO Sound, a Canadian independent music label, is famous for more than songs like “Hotline Bling” and “One Dance.” He’s famously been very open about his personal real estate by previously owning a $75 million estate in Los Angeles and a $88 million mega-mansion in Beverly Hills.

The real estate purchase comes amid a tumultuous time for the pop star as he’s embroiled in a rap feud with Compton star rapper Kendrick Lamar. The pair have been notoriously throwing verbal jabs at one another since their popularity took off in the early 2010s.
