- Rogers Centre
Rogers Centre, previously known as the SkyDome, opened for business in 1989. Since the Blue Jays’ inception in 1977, the team had played at the outdoor Exhibition Stadium, which was an outdated Canadian football stadium with a location close enough to Lake Ontario that weather — rain, high winds, fog and even snow — was often an issue. (If you’re up on Canadian baseball trivia, you’ll know that the Jays’ inaugural game had a lengthy snow delay.) Additionally, because of the size of a Canadian Football League field, the facility wasn’t ideal for hosting baseball. When converted for the Jays, many sections of seating were extremely far from home plate. After years of chanting, “We want a dome!” fans finally got their wish. Construction on the $570-million SkyDome began in 1986 and the Jays played their first game there on June 2, 1989.
The stadium was renamed Rogers Centre in 2005, soon after Rogers Communications bought the facility. (And, if you’re curious, it’s “Rogers Centre,” not “The Rogers Centre.”) In the months that followed the renaming, Rogers put significant money toward upgrading the video board, changing the turf and renovating the 100 Level. The turf upgrade meant that the AstroTurf, which had been in place since 1989, was lifted and replaced with FieldTurf. Rogers Centre’s FieldTurf lasted from 2005 to 2010 before being once again upgraded, this time to AstroTurf Gameday Grass. The field at Rogers Centre is symmetrical — 328 feet to the corners, 375 feet in the power alleys and 400 feet to straightaway center field.
The Blue Jays aren’t the only tenant of Rogers Centre. They share the facility with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills during their Toronto home games and the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts. The stadium has also played host to every sort of event from evangelical religious ceremonies to monster truck shows. The largest attendance in the building’s history was in 2002, when 68,237 fans attended Wrestlemania 18. For baseball, Rogers Centre has a capacity of 49,260.
Regardless of where you sit, you’ll be able to enjoy Rogers Centre’s enormous video board, which is one of the stadium’s signature sights. Although the facility was equipped with a JumboTron (the largest in the world at the time) when it was built, the Blue Jays upgraded to a modern Daktronics video board in time for the 2005 season. The screen, which measures 33 feet by 110 feet, uses LED technology and has impressive viewing angles. Despite the enormity of the screen, it’s still significantly smaller than the notable video board in Cleveland’s Progressive Field, which measures 36 feet by 149 feet. The stadium’s main scoreboard isn’t the only place to follow the game, however. Rogers Centre has a pair of screens built into the outfield fence that each measure 10 feet by 65 feet. These screens provide player stats, out-of-town scores and other information related to the game and league. Finally, Rogers Centre has a continuous, ribbon-style video board on the facing of the 300 Level, providing stats and scores.
When you’ve found your seat, you’ll find it hard not to stare at the roof, especially if you haven’t previously visited Rogers Centre. The roof, which was the first of its kind in the world, is comprised of three panels that move on a set of tracks and one panel that is stationary. The roof’s total area is 339,343 square feet, has a weight of 11,000 tons and the motor that slides the panels generates 750 horsepower. The Jays endeavor to play with the roof open as much as possible to provide fans with a traditional baseball experience. When the panels are open, the entire field and 91 percent of the seats are exposed to the sky above. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to see the roof open and shut during your visit. The entire process takes roughly 20 minutes.
Rogers Centre commemorates past Blue Jays on its Level of Excellence, which is located between the third and fourth decks in the outfield. The names on the display include former players Roberto Alomar, George Bell, Joe Carter, Tony Fernandez and Dave Stieb, former manager Cito Gaston, executives Pat Gillick and Paul Beeston and longtime broadcaster Tom Cheek. While you’re in the mood for nostalgia, look above the video board for the team’s American League East banners, World Series banners and banners recognizing 2011 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductees Alomar and Gillick.
An impressive feature of Rogers Centre is the Renaissance hotel, which bills itself as the “world’s only four-diamond hotel located in a major league sports and entertainment venue.” The 11-floor, 313-room hotel has 70 field-facing rooms situated above and beside the stadium’s video board. Although the field-facing rooms are pricy, they give you the ability to watch batting practice and other on-field sights before the stadium’s gates open.
Rogers Centre offers hour-long tours from March 1 to October 31. Between March 1 and May 31, tours take place three times a day — 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. From June 1 to October 31, tours run on the hour between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tours begin inside Gate 3 and cost $16 for adults, $12 for seniors and youth between 12 and 17 years of age and $10 for children 11 or under. In addition to focusing on the baseball side of Rogers Centre, the tour also includes information and memorabilia from concerts and other events held in the stadium. The tour takes you to different levels of Rogers Centre and also passes through the press box and a luxury suite.

Visiting Rogers Centre – 5 Tips For Newbies
January 21, 2017
Posted by Kurt Smith
If you’re visiting Rogers Centre in Toronto for the first time, there are a few tips you definitely need to know. The home of the Blue Jays is unique in many ways, some of which present some interesting challenges for the fan.
Gametime has your cheap Blue Jays tickets …with a lowest price guarantee , panoramic seat view photos, and great last minute deals…even after the game starts! (See why Ballpark E-Guides loves Gametime here !)
Foiled by the bicycle rack roadblock again!
Visiting Rogers Centre Tip #1: Consider demand when buying tickets. When the Blue Jays are good, they draw very, very well. That means you should plan ahead and buy from the team first. Most weeknight games against opponents other than the Yankees or Red Sox don’t sell out, so you can pick up tickets at the box office where the fees are lowest.
Should you be looking for a low demand game…say, if the Jays are having a disappointing season…sites like Gametime will help you find the best deal on tickets. Weekends sell far better than weekdays, partly due to the insane rush hour Toronto traffic.
The ushers are fleet of foot in the empty sections.
Visiting Rogers Centre Tip #2: Try the mezzanine level. The mezzanine level at Rogers isn’t as close to the field as you might like, but the seating is much lower than the 500 SkyDeck level, and the seats have cup holders. The seats are around the same price as the field level seating below them, and it will be easier to duck out of the elements there should you have the need.
One caution though, don’t sit in the outfield on the 200 level…way too many ways to lose the view. Stay in the infield if you can.
You have a ton of seating options here though, so if you want to find out more, check out my detailed guide to Rogers Centre seating .
The Force is with you, young Skywalker.
Visiting Rogers Centre Tip #3: Use public transit (TTC or GO). Rogers is in the heart of downtown Toronto, and there are two major highways that both run south of the ballpark that get jammed at rush hour. During the week especially, you don’t want to be driving there; instead use the TTC from elsewhere in the city or the commuter-friendly GO Transit trains from the suburbs .
The Yonge-University-Spadina line of the TTC stops at Union Station; all of the GO lines from every direction also stop there. Union Station is a short walk to the ballpark through a covered walkway, and there’s a whole lot of cheap places to fill up a pre-game doggy bag.
Public transit is almost always your best option…I tell you a whole lot more about that here .
If you do decide to drive to the ballpark, book your parking beforehand…
NEVER Drive To Rogers Centre Without A Plan…
Book a great parking spot now with my friends at spothero.
Note the gentleman’s backpack, suitable for carrying veggie dogs.
Visiting Rogers Centre Tip #4: Get the street meat. Rogers Centre has great food items, especially if you’re into nachos…check them out at the Muddy York Market, the King Club or at the 12 Bar. But to get a good-sized dog at a much cheaper price, Torontonians will tell you to get the “street meat”…dogs from the numerous hot dog carts that surround the stadium.
You can get a good-sized dog for about half the cost of one inside, and you can pile on a great choice of condiments. There are even veggie dogs from Yves out there if you look. If you want more variety, check out Front Street north of the ballpark; there are always some unique food trucks there.
Really? You’ve been expecting moi ?
Visiting Rogers Centre Tip #5: Remember you’re a foreigner (if you’re visiting Canada). Toronto isn’t very different from most baseball cities, but remember a few things…like checking with your phone service provider about using your phone abroad, getting your money exchanged at a bank or hotel and not at the exchange centers that take an exorbitant cut, and check with your credit card company about overseas purchases. Gas is much more expensive in Canada too, so if you can, fill up stateside. Oh, and don’t forget your passport!
There you go; five tips to help you for your first time visiting Rogers Centre. If you’re bringing the kids, remember Saturday is Jr. Jays day, and that’s when the kids can get their face painted and run the bases and stuff.
And relax, because you know a game will be played in this ballpark whatever the weather.

Rogers Center Visitor Guide 2024: Everything you need to know
Home to the Toronto Blue Jays , the Rogers Center is much more than just a ballpark. Its convenient location, right in the heart of Toronto, makes it an ideal spot from which to explore the city once you have finished visiting the stadium itself.
Completed in 1989, this was the first stadium in the world to have a fully retractable roof. Although many think of it as a ballpark, the Rogers Center is far more diverse than just baseball and football. Attached is a 348 room hotel and the park hosts every kind of major event from concerts through to circuses, and from monster truck rallies to WWF wrestling events.
The park can seat 54 000 fans and covers a whopping 12.7 acres. As if watching an event live were not enough, at the north end of the ground there is a state-of-the-art video screen that measures 110 feet long by 33 feet high and is capable of projecting 43 trillion colors. That makes even the replays quite impressive.
The park’s downtown position also makes it a convenient place from which to visit some of the city's many other attractions. You can easily store your luggage in one of the many locker rental facilities near Rogers Center . After that, you will be in an ideal position to stroll the waterfront with its famous St Lawrence Market , wander through the AGO art gallery or hop a ferry across to the Toronto Island Park.

Rogers Center bag policy
While diaper bags and purses are welcome in the park, there are some luggage rules you need to be aware of. No bag larger than 16'' x 16'' x 8'' will be allowed in and no hard-sided coolers will either. There are bins at the entrances and if a bag does not fit into one easily, it will not be allowed into the grounds.
Having to then find somewhere to store it could prove to be a costly inconvenience. With locker rental in the vicinity, this is another good reason for considering storing your luggage in advance.
Rogers Center food policy
You are welcome to bring in your own food but it will need to be wrapped or bagged, and if it is in a cooler, it will need to conform to the stadium's bag policy. Non-alcoholic drinks may be brought in but only if contained in plastic containers of less than 600 mls.
In the grounds, there are dozens of different food concessions. There you will find everything from burgers and fried chicken right through to fruit and vegan options .
Rogers Center Camera Policy
Rogers Center welcomes the use of personal video or still camera equipment. Professional cameras with detachable lenses of over 3'', bi-pods and tripods will not be allowed into the stadium. Please be considerate of other fans viewing pleasure when taking your photographs.
Rogers Center rules
- Dress requirements do not allow the wearing of mascot apparel
- You may not leave the grounds and re-enter
- No noise-making equipment
- Nothing that can possibly be construed as a weapon will be allowed in
- This is a no-smoking stadium and that includes the use of vapor or electronic cigarettes.
- No alcohol can be brought into the grounds but it can be purchased from vendors and stands within the stadium. Responsible drinking rules apply.
Rogers Centre lockers facilities
There are no lockers in the center itself. Given the strict bag policy, if you are carrying anything that may preclude you from entry you are well-advised to find a local locker rental service and place any items in their care for the duration of your visit. This will also free you up to enjoy some of the other delights that this city has on offer without the hindrance of having to lug baggage with you.
Fortunately, there are several locker rental services in the vicinity. Try to find one that offers an online booking facility as this might save you the disappointment of finding all lockers full when you get there. Better services also tend to offer free insurance.

Rogers Centre Information
Originally named the Skydome, the Rogers Centre is located at 1 Blue Jays Way in Ontario, Canada, with a maximum seating capacity for 53,506 for games and smaller configurations to optimise audience experience for concerts. The venue is currently home to the Toronto Blue Jays basketball team. Officially opened in 1989 after 2 and a half years of construction, the project cost $978 million, paid for by the federal government, Ontario provincial government, the City of Toronto, and several corporations. A crowd of over 50,000 showed up for the opening ceremony, which was broadcast as "The Opening of SkyDome: A Celebration” on CBC television. Rogers Communications, the parent company of the Blue Jays, took over ownership of the SkyDome in November 2004 and the venue was from then on known as the Rogers Centre. posted on September 28th 2023 by Charmaine Cortes // last updated on September 28th 2023
As someone who loves attending sports events, I’ve found that knowing your way around the stadium is essential for a fun and hassle-free experience. That’s why I’d like to introduce you to the Rogers Centre, home to the Toronto Blue Jays, and provide a helpful guide to navigating its gates and entrances. The Rogers Centre is not only a fantastic ballpark but also conveniently located in downtown Toronto, making it an exciting place to explore before or after visiting the stadium.
Entering the Rogers Centre is a breeze when you know which gate is best suited for you. With multiple gates scattered around the stadium, each one offers easy access and minimizes waiting times for eager fans. This guide aims to help familiarize you with these entrances so that the next time you’re visiting the Rogers Centre, you can effortlessly find your way inside and have a fantastic time at the event.
Over the next sections, I’ll be breaking down the main gates of the Rogers Centre, including their locations, opening times, and any unique features they might have. By the end, you’ll have a comprehensive understanding of the entrances, allowing you to make the most of your visit to the iconic home of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Why Visit Rogers Centre?
Ticketing information, gate information, security measures, prohibited items, accessibility options, available services and amenities, nearby attractions.
As a baseball fan, I can’t find a better reason to visit Rogers Centre than to catch a Toronto Blue Jays game. The atmosphere is electric, and the fans bring a sense of camaraderie that makes the experience truly enjoyable. Plus, the stadium itself is an architectural marvel with a retractable roof, allowing for play in various weather conditions.
When I explore Rogers Centre, I appreciate its convenient location in the heart of downtown Toronto. This makes it an excellent starting point for venturing out into the city, discovering its vibrant neighborhoods, landmarks, and other attractions. The stadium is easily accessible on foot, by personal vehicle, or public transit systems including TTC, GO Train, Via Rail, and UP Express.
In addition to baseball games, Rogers Centre hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as concerts, trade shows, and more. I’ve attended some memorable performances in this versatile venue, making it a must-visit for me every time I’m in Toronto.
As a frequent visitor to Rogers Centre, I’d like to share some helpful ticketing information with you. Please read on to make your experience at this marvelous venue as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Box Office Details
One of the easiest ways to purchase tickets is by visiting the box office at Rogers Centre. However, it’s important to keep in mind that during busy times, the lines can be quite long. From my experience, it’s always better to check the timings and plan accordingly to avoid any inconveniences. Sometimes, I even prefer to visit during the weekdays, when there’s less hustle and bustle.
Online Ticket Purchasing
Purchasing tickets online has always been a convenient option for me. The Blue Jays tickets are delivered digitally and can be scanned at the gate using a mobile device. Personally, I love using the MLB Ballpark app to display my ticket, but you can also access your Blue Jays Account Manager or the Ticketmaster app if you purchased your tickets via ticketmaster.ca. If you need more information about this process, simply visit bluejays.com/tickethelp.
In my experience, buying tickets online has saved me a lot of time, as it allows me to skip the queues and easily locate my seats. Just remember to charge your mobile device and have your ticket ready for scanning at the gate to ensure a seamless experience.
Opening Hours
One of the key aspects you need to know about the Rogers Centre is when the gates open. For most events, the gates open 1.5 hours prior to the start of a game. Of course, it’s always a good idea to double-check the official schedule for any specific event or game you plan to attend.
Gate Locations
The Rogers Centre has 5 main gates to facilitate entry. I will provide an overview of these gate locations and what to expect at each:
- Gate 1 : This gate is often a popular choice for entrance as it is situated near the statue of Ted Rogers and provides a great spot to take photos. It also offers access to the main concourse and premium seating levels.
- Gate 2 : Located near Rees Street, Gate 2 provides entry for fans with accessible needs. It offers convenient access to accessible seating and elevator services. Additionally, it’s close to the Outfield District, which can be a great place to explore and soak in the atmosphere.
- Gate 3 : This gate is found on the concourse level and is often a quieter choice when entering the stadium. It’s easy to access from Bremner Boulevard and gives you direct entry to the outfield area.
- Gate 4 : Situated at the corner of Bremner Boulevard and John Street, Gate 4 provides entry to the stadium’s main floor and mezzanine levels. It is ideal for those who have seats in these sections and want a quick entrance.
- Gate 5 : Last but not least, Gate 5 is located at the corner of John Street and Wellington Street. It gives a more laid-back entrance experience, and for those coming from Union Station, it’s a convenient option.
Remember, while your ticket may indicate a specific gate, you won’t be denied entry for using a different one. You might just need to walk further within the stadium to reach your seat. So, take advantage of this information to make your visit to the Rogers Centre the best it can be!
As I make my way to the Rogers Centre, it’s good to know that there are security measures in place to ensure the safety of all the fans attending events. Prior to entering the stadium, all guests are subjected to screening, which includes walk-through metal detectors. Make sure to have your bags ready for inspection as well, since they will be checked by security personnel.
In order to make the screening process run smoothly, I like to arrive early and be prepared. If you’re carrying any prohibited items, such as weapons, alcohol, and large bags or coolers, you’ll need to leave them behind as they won’t be allowed inside the stadium. Full lists of prohibited and permissible items can be found on the official Rogers Centre website.
Also, important to note is that Rogers Centre has a no re-entry policy. Once you leave the stadium, you won’t be able to come back in. That means if you need to step out for any reason, it’s best to plan ahead and make sure you have everything you need with you before exiting.
So, with these security measures in place, it’s great knowing that I can enjoy my time at Rogers Centre while feeling secure and focusing on having a good time with fellow fans.
While I’m looking forward to a fun day at Rogers Centre, I understand that there are some items that are not allowed inside the stadium. To ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, the Toronto Blue Jays reserve the right to inspect any bags or articles prior to entry into Rogers Centre and may refuse admittance of any items deemed hazardous, inappropriate, offensive, or suspicious.
One important rule to keep in mind is the bag size restriction. Diaper bags and purses are welcome, but no bags larger than 16” x 16” x 8” are allowed in the park. Additionally, hard-sided coolers are prohibited. This ensures there’s enough space for everyone to move around and enjoy the game or event without bumping into bulky bags.
For fans who require accessible drop-off, communicate this need to the police on duty to access the area, due to road closures. The designated accessible support entrance is Gate 7, which is also conveniently located near the Toronto Marriott City Centre hotel round-about as one of the two drop-off/pick-up zones.
As a friendly reminder, let’s all do our part to create a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming environment at Rogers Centre by leaving prohibited items at home and respecting the guidelines put in place.
Wheelchair Accessibility
As a visitor to Rogers Centre, I noticed that the facility is designed with accessibility in mind. There are ramps and elevators available for wheelchair users to access different seating levels. Also, accessible seating and companion seating are available throughout the stadium, allowing wheelchair users and their companions to enjoy the game together comfortably.
Services for Hearing-Impaired
Rogers Centre also offers services for visitors who are hearing-impaired. During my visit, I observed that hearing assistance devices are available upon request. Additionally, captioning services are provided on the scoreboard to ensure guests with hearing impairments can follow along with live game action and announcements.
From my experience at Rogers Centre, the stadium strives to provide an inclusive and accommodating environment for all guests, regardless of their accessibility needs.
Food and Drink Options
At the Rogers Centre, there are plenty of food and drink options to satisfy my hunger and thirst while enjoying the game or event. From classic ballpark fare like hot dogs and popcorn to unique and diverse options, there’s something for everyone. Some popular choices include:
- Burgers and fries from various vendors
- Pizza and pasta dishes
- Fresh salads and wraps
- Sushi rolls and poke bowls
- Various international cuisine selections
Additionally, there are plenty of beverage options available, ranging from refreshing sodas and bottled water to a selection of beers and specialty cocktails.
Restroom Locations
I never need to worry about finding a restroom at the Rogers Centre. They are conveniently located throughout the stadium, ensuring quick and easy access for all guests. To help me find the nearest facility, guest services booths can be found behind sections 120, 135, 212, 236, and 525.
ATM Locations
In case I need some extra cash while at the Rogers Centre, there are several ATM locations within the stadium. Moreover, if I’m visiting from the United States, it’s great to know that American currency is accepted throughout the venue, so I don’t have to worry about exchanging my money for Canadian bills.
When visiting the Rogers Centre, I appreciate how it is conveniently located in the heart of Toronto. There are many fantastic attractions nearby that you can explore before or after your event at the stadium. In just a few minutes’ walk, you’ll find must-see attractions worth checking out.
One of the most iconic attractions near Rogers Centre is the CN Tower. This famous landmark offers breathtaking views of the city and features a revolving restaurant. It’s a perfect spot to grab a meal with a view.
A short stroll from the stadium, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is another fantastic destination to explore. This family-friendly attraction boasts a wide range of marine life exhibits, including a mesmerizing underwater tunnel.
If you’re a fan of comedy, be sure to check out The Second City Toronto. Just around the corner from Rogers Centre, this comedy club features hilarious improv shows and lively performances that are sure to make you laugh.
In summary, the area surrounding the Rogers Centre offers a variety of attractions, catering to different interests. Be sure to take the time to explore Toronto’s lively downtown and make the most of your visit!

US singer and songwriter Taylor Alison Swift, also known as Taylor Swift performs on stage at the ... [+] Paris La Defense Arena as part of her The Eras Tour, in Nanterre, north-western France, on May 9, 2024.
Taylor Swift thrilled fans with the addition of performances from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department when she kicked off the European leg of The Eras Tour in Paris on Thursday, May 9, 2024. She jokingly called that section of the show Female Rage: The Musical . Most concertgoers already knew and sang along to every word of all the songs she sang from the album even though it was released just a few weeks earlier on April 19. Such is the power of Swift.
In her long career of riveting live shows, her stunning performance of “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” may very well be her masterpiece so far. Swift is enjoying unprecedented success with her latest albums and tour, which showcase how she can tell a story like no other artist. Both her singing voice and her literary voice are stronger than ever, and it’s joyful to watch Swift embody and embrace her mightiness as a performer.
It's no wonder many fans are willing to travel hundreds or even thousands of miles for the chance to see Taylor Swift perform live. Since tickets sold out so quickly for the few remaining U.S. tour dates and resellers are aware of the intense demand, some fans discovered it was more doable to attend one of her international shows.
So, many fans in the U.S. and other countries have decided to make a vacation out of going to The Eras Tour in Europe this summer. If you are among them, here’s some advice on how to make the most of your international adventure.

Consider Your Lodging and Transportation Choices First
Before buying a ticket, be sure that you will have accommodations available. If you can book a hotel that’s within walking distance of a stadium and know the area is safe, that is ideal. Otherwise, check bus and train schedules for the night of your venue, then look at hotels that might be close to bus or train stops.
With tens of thousands of fellow concertgoers leaving at the same time, transportation can get tricky. If you book a room that’s farther from the venue, try to get a rental car instead of vying for a taxi or rideshare after the show. If you do that, just be sure parking will be available. You may need to buy a parking pass from the venue.
Also be aware that hotel room prices skyrocket when Swift is in town because there is such a high demand. If you are renting a car and don’t mind a longer drive, you can save a lot of money by booking a hotel room that’s a longer drive from the venue.
Enjoy The Moment
Amy Wilkinson, a 49-year-old Swiftie from Tucson, AZ, went viral in December 2023 for her reenactments of The Eras Tour performances using Elf on the Shelf dolls. She posted them to her Instagram, @Tswizzle_Momma , and found thousands of people watching each time she posted her videos. Like many other Swifties in the US, she is flying to Europe for The Eras Tour.
Wilkinson told me she had this advice for fellow fans going to the show abroad, “Enjoy the entire experience, from the moment you get on the plane until the morning after. You may be going for the concert, but the memories are made in the details. See the sights. Enjoy the food. Meet other Swifties. This is at the heart of what international travel is about.”
Make The Friendship Bracelets
Rebecca Bartley, a Swiftie from Nova Scotia, Canada, is going to Sweden to see The Eras Tour. She advises bringing friendship bracelets to share with fellow concertgoers on the night of your show. Wilkinson suggested making friendship bracelets in the language of the country where you’ll be seeing the show.

It’s easy to learn how to make friendship bracelets. I had never dabbled in making jewelry before, but now I find great joy in creating friendship bracelets. I created dozens and handed them to fans at The Eras Tour movie.
To make friendship bracelets, I start by choosing the colors I want and which word or phrase I want the bracelet to express. Then I choose colorful beads and pick out all the necessary letter beads.
Next, I cut off elastic string. I find it’s best to use Stretch Magic elastic string because of its strength and durability. To make the bracelets, I cut off a piece of string that’s twice as long as I need so that there is ample room for cutting and tying multiple knots.
Then I tape one end of the string to my workspace, string the beads I have set aside until I feel like the bracelet is complete. Being careful to not let any of the beads slide off the string, I then wrap it around my wrist to see how it fits and then consider whether I am making the bracelet for a wrist that’s likely larger or smaller than mine. (Also, with elastic string, there’s room for a flexible fit.) I adjust accordingly.
As a last step, I make four to five knots in the string to tie off the bracelet. Many fans choose to add a dab of fabric glue to the end of the knot, but I found that got really messy and wasn’t necessary if you make multiple knots. Then I tuck the knots into one of the beads so that it doesn’t show on the bracelet. Then the bracelet is concert-ready!
Keep in mind that there are a lot of other ways to make friendship bracelets that are for more involved and creative that mine. And, if the idea of making friendship bracelets doesn’t sound fun to you, don’t worry. You can buy premade friendship bracelets on Etsy. Some Etsy shops like RainFoxx13 and BonniesBracelet have elaborate, beautiful friendship bracelets that you may want to keep for yourself. Others sell packs of friendship bracelets in bulk.
If you don’t want to trade friendship bracelets, that’s okay, too. The Swiftie community is accepting and supportive, and you still may get several bracelets as gifts.
What To Wear To The Eras Tour
There are no rules for what you should wear to Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour beyond the guidelines from the venue. Some fans go casual, and others choose to dress to the nines for the show. Some fans choose to wear merch from Taylor Swift’s official store . Many fans choose to dress up in costumes inspired by Swift’s songs and lyrics.
With the release of The Tortured Poets Department and its video “Fortnight,” some fans are choosing to imitate some of her looks from the video. Others are wearing their interpretation of the incredible costumes she wears during The Eras Tour concert. Others look at past eras for inspiration. You are likely to see every era represented in fan costumes at a show.
What You Should Bring To The Eras Tour In Europe
Wilkinson advised me that the number one thing to bring is a portable phone charger. If you plan on recording video and taking photos, your phone’s battery may die down quickly, and a phone charger can ensure you can keep capturing the memories all night.
Earplugs are a good idea if you’re sensitive to loud noise. If you’re bringing kids along, they are a must. They ensure you can enjoy the music while protecting your ears.
Bring along a cardigan or jacket. Layering is a good idea for a concert during the summer. Although it may be hot in the stadium, you might be chilly on the way home from the show.
You can’t go wrong bringing along hand sanitizer and a travel pack of tissues. Even if you can get through “All Too Well” without tearing up, you may cry at the sheer excitement of the experience. It can be intense in the best way.
If you have tickets that are far back, bring along binoculars to see close-up details.
What To Avoid At The Eras Tour
Don’t come to the stadium with a big bag. If you haven’t attended stadium concerts before, you may not know that you need to carry a clear bag if you want to bring a purse. It also has to fit within the measurements allowed in the stadium, so you can’t just buy a clear backpack and expect to get in the show. Check with your show’s venue to make sure you follow their rules for what you can bring.

How To Get Taylor Swift Tickets In 2024
Tickets have already gone on sale for the rest of the currently confirmed dates of The Eras Tour for 2024. However, you can get secondhand tickets from resellers. It’s usually not a good idea to buy from individuals in Facebook groups offering to sell tickets. That’s hard to verify, and many are scammed that way. Instead, check with the individual venue to see how their resell process works. It varies throughout Europe depending on the country and the individual stadium.

Jonas Brothers add more than 50 dates to The Tour: 'We want MORE!'
The Jonas Brothers – and their fans – want more. More tour, that is.
The brother trio – Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas – announced a new batch of dates Thursday for their upcoming The Tour, which kicks off in New York with two sold-out nights at Yankee Stadium Aug. 12 and 13, supporting their sixth release, "The Album." The band is adding more than 50 new shows to the North American leg of the tour and across Europe, Australia and New Zealand, totaling more than 90 shows across 20 countries in their largest tour to date.
"You heard us… we want MORE! We added additional dates for THE TOUR in Australia, Europe and the US," the Jonas Brothers shared on Instagram alongside a cheeky video of the three of them excited about wanting "more."
Another sibling group, pop-soul act Lawrence led by Clyde and Gracie Lawrence, will open all the North American shows.
Ahead of the tour, the Jonas Brothers unpeeled the layers behind their albums at midtown Manhattan's Marquis Theater for their five-night concert residency on Broadway .

Fans might also get an emotional moment between the brothers on tour with their ballad "Little Bird," which talks about the importance of a father/daughter relationship and is among their new favorites to perform live.
"It's one of those tunes where you're fighting back tears," Joe Jonas told USA TODAY in a May interview . "It's an emotional tune and we all kind of go, 'OK, here we go' when we see it on the setlist."
"I think it's like a thing where (before) one of us was out on a boat or something and the other was home with kids. There was a clear difference in what our realities are on an everyday basis," Nick Jonas said in the same interview. Now, "there's a better understanding and awareness of where we're all at, and that's totally reflected in the music."

Olivia Rodrigo 's GUTS World Tour is fully underway and new stops keep being added. The day after her show-stopping 2023 VMAs performance , the musician announced that she'll be hitting the road and heading out on an over 60-stop tour in support of her critically acclaimed sophomore album — and you know we'll be seated for this one.
Olivia Rodrigo wrote most of Guts — which was released on September 8, 2023 — when she was 19 years old, and it's a deeply personal (but extremely relatable) album that she was thrilled to share with her fans. “I made the bulk of this album during my 19th year on this earth, a year that, for me, was filled with lots of confusion, mistakes, awkwardness, and good old-fashioned teen angst,” 20-year-old Rodrigo wrote before its release. “I cannot express how excited I am to embark on this new chapter of my life with you guys.”
Below, find out everything you need to know about Olivia Rodrigo's 2024 GUTS World Tour.
When and where did the Olivia Rodrigo GUTS World Tour kick off?
The tour began in Palm Springs, California, on February 23, 2024. Rodrigo started the tour in the United States and Canada and will continue throughout Europe for much of the spring and early summer before heading back to the United States in July. Initially, we thought the tour would officially wrap on August 17, 2024, in California with four final Los Angeles shows, but she announced new stops across Asia and Australia on May 8, 2024, via social media .
Who is joining Olivia Rodrigo on tour?
The GUTS World Tour has a packed slate of opening acts. The Breeders, PinkPantheress , Chappell Roan , Remi Wolf , and Benee will join Rodrigo on select dates across the tour.
Where can I get tickets, and how much do they cost?
According to a press release, fans are being asked to register before tickets go on sale in an effort to reduce bots and resales. You can register for your tickets on Ticketmaster here — American Express cardholders may be able to unlock early access.
While standard tickets in the U.S. retail between $49.50 and $199.50 plus taxes and fees, Rodrigo is also introducing Silver Star Tickets, a limited number of $20 tickets (plus taxes and fees) to “make it as easy and affordable as possible for her fans to make it out to her shows.” These must be purchased in pairs, and seat locations will be revealed on the day of the show.
What else do I need to know about the GUTS World Tour?
There's a charitable arm of the tour! Rodrigo is launching the Fund 4 Good, “a global initiative committed to building an equitable and just future for all women and girls through direct support of community-based non-profits that champion girls’ education, support reproductive rights and prevent gender-based violence.” A portion of proceeds from all ticket sales will go to support the fund.

Maggie Rogers is headlining arenas for the first time this fall, but she didn’t want it to feel like moving into bigger spaces for her concerts would mean a more impersonal experience. So for 11 shows that just went on sale in late April, she went out and personally manned the box office on opening day to help sell tickets for those big shows. Rogers had earlier done the same thing for a short series of club shows she performed to kick off the touring cycle behind her new album, “Don’t Forget Me.” For the fans who lined up to take advantage of having Rogers as their personal ticket concierge, the experience lived up to its unforgettable billing.
Popular on Variety
Variety spoke with her just after she’d returned home from her short tour of… the nation’s box offices. Among the topics: enshrining the concept of friendship in the grooves of the new album; speaking of buddies, sharing a Bruce moment recently with her friend Zach Bryan ; and wrapping up her graduate course work at Harvard Divinity School in this coming month, shortly before she hits the road.
Oh my gosh, I had so much fun. I’ve just been on a high. You never get to choose the people that show up for your music, but I feel so lucky to really feel like I’ve got the best people holding my art, this community of such unbelievably kind and generous and sweet people. All the stories I heard of people taking care of each other in line — there was some girl I was talking to one night in Philly while I was on stage, while she was requesting a song, and then later I got all these comments of people being like, “Oh my God, we love her. Her dad brought us donuts in line.” It was such a high and so sweet to be able, in this era of empty digital transaction, to really hold hands in person with the people that allow me to do this thing that I love on a daily basis.
I always say about my fans that it always feels like we’re at a house party. Like, if you’re not the friend that I brought, you’re a friend of a friend. To be able to wake up in the morning and have coffee with people and see people make friends in line and then buy tickets together… or to be able to have the familiar faces who have been there from the beginning walk up to a box office door and choose exactly where they want to sit in an arena… but also the fact that it’s an arena bowl that we’re looking at, picking tickets together! — that was so surreal.
Did you give anybody who came through the lines any guidance about where the best place to sit in an arena is?
You know, I didn’t really grow up going to arena shows. All of my favorite artists always played rock clubs. And I think a symptom of streaming, in a positive way, is that it allows artists who aren’t putting on the biggest pop show in the world to reach an audience in a really different way, and so I feel like we’re in an era where some of my favorite bands are playing arenas. It’s nice to know that some of my fans are able to be in the pit and will get to be as close to the stage as possible. But I don’t know that I’m a good source of knowing where to sit in an arena.
You’re playing the big rooms — Madison Square Garden and the Forum. These are in the fall, when maybe amphitheaters aren’t advisable, but you must be doing arenas because you’re excited about that.
Each one of your albums does have a very different personality, so it makes sense that you would be thinking about how each type of album might play in a different kind of venue. Your last album, “Surrender,” seemed like a pretty dramatic album. This one has some drama in the lyrics, too, but the critical line on this album… the New Yorker called it “breezy,” and Pitchfork said “zippy, even groovy.” So there’s a lot of adjectives with a Y on the end that suggest something that makes people feel good. It seems like there might’ve been a concentrated effort on this album to have a very kind of friendly vibe to it.
The record was made so quickly that there wasn’t a lot of conscious intention. When I was making it, I just felt really open, and that’s what you can hear. There’s a real sparkly, fun lightheartedness in the record because that’s how I felt as I was making it. But there wasn’t a lot of premeditation. I had no concepts for songs; I had no mood boards. As Ian Fitchuk and I were going into the studio, we had never really ever worked together before, and then on day one we wrote “It Was Coming All Along” and “Drunk.” Day two, we wrote “So Sick of Dreaming” and “The Kill.” So it was following a sense of openness and lightheartedness, and the result is that all my friends say that this is the version of me that they know.
I think also that that openness is a product of becoming a little bit more comfortable in all of this. You know, my transition into music happened very publicly, very quickly, and it really scared me. Now I’m coming into this place where I turn 30 in two days, and I really love my work and feel really comfortable and confident in my art. It’s been a path through my twenties and finding and refining my voice and how I want to express myself. There are different types of music that I love that I want to explore, like trying on different clothes, and that feels super normal, too.
Speaking of trying on different clothes… this will be the most superficial question I’ll ask, but you’ve had a pretty different hairstyle during each album cycle you’ve come through now. Not to be a hairstyle reviewer, but in some way it has felt like your look reflects a change in the music, and the look now is kind of mature and yet free-and-easy. Is that in any way part-and-parcel for you, like, yes, there’s a whole new me than there was two years ago, and that’s reflected in the album?
That segues perfectly into the next question, about how the passage of time factors a lot into these songs. The album has lines like “when all the years start to blend in together,” or “time moves slow until one day you wake up and realize”… and specifically, “I’m flying long past 22,” which is a very specific reference for you to make. As you said, you’re about to turn 30 and there are lots of markers in your life. It’s been five years since your first album, but eight years since you had kind of a viral moment. So “flying long past 22,” does that kind of signal a moment when everything changed for you, but it feels like a long way in the rear view mirror?
Totally. I mean, I’m a really naturally nostalgic person. And especially because I’m in the business of documenting time. That’s kind of why I got into songwriting in the first place, because I wanted to be able to mark time and archive. I’m definitely an archivist. There’s a lot of different parts of my life that I have archived, and I journal almost every night before I fall asleep. I’ve always said that a record is a record of a period of time. On this album, there are so many scenarios or stories that have never happened to me as a person, but the feelings or the details within them are very specific to my life. So it feels in a way like some woven tapestry owed to my twenties. Though the story that runs through the album is not the exact one-to-one story in my life, I think that by saying something that was fiction, I was able to tell a much greater truth about the reality of my life or the way that I felt in my twenties. And it’s really helped me. You know, you’re catching me in the last two days where I’m like saying goodbye to this decade of my life and taking stock of what I really want to leave in the past and what I want to welcome and usher in. And music has always been a way that I do that.
The album is very conversational at times — literally, at times, because in the very first song you’re talking about a conversation with Nora, and you quote her talking to you by name. Later on you have some other names, a Sally and a Molly. One throughline in the lyrics is a lot of breakup songs, or anticipating a breakup or remembering someone who’s gone or anticipating someone being gone in the future. But it feels like these references to friends anchor that, with the fact that you have friends who are there for you, even when romantic relationships may be temporary or fickle. Is throwing the names of actual people in there — specifically, women friends — intentionally trying to create that sense of balance?
It feels very simple and silly, but I really love my friends, and putting them in the record has been so fun. My friend Nora and I met on the eastern shore of Maryland when we were 15, and we both walked into a Christmas party wearing all black and have been best friends ever since. You know, I’ve only played four shows so far for this record, but I get to hear Nora’s voice on stage every night [in a spoken-word interlude during “So Sick of Dreaming”]. I just called her and put her on speaker and that was how she answered the phone — that was a one-take. And hearing Nora’s voice on stage every night is the absolute sweetest thing.
In “So Sick of Dreaming,” you do have that very specific storytelling moment in the bridge with Nora’s voice, and that’s not your experience. Did you feel like, although the song is very general, you needed to ground it in something that was about as specific as it gets?
That was me just being really playful. When we made all these demos, Ian and I had this plan and I really wanted to go to Muscle Shoals or some great Southern studio and make a live record. These were just demos that we assumed we would play with a great band later. So when I put that voicemail in, it was just to make Ian and I laugh, knowing that later we would probably fill it with some great instrumental section. But after we made all these demos, we realized that because we weren’t trying to make a record, there was actually this incredibly beautiful, unguarded version of ourselves that was able to come through in all of these first takes. And there was a looseness about the record that sort of worked as, like, a live record made by two people.
And that Knicks voicemail… I would like to go on record that I’m rooting for the Knicks in the playoffs. It’s very important to me that that is known! But that story (told by Nora), that’s some New York perfect thing, like Carrie Bradshaw, the clueless silliness… You know, even the voice I’m using, like, “By the way, the Knicks lost,” it’s so sassy and silly, and it’s been cool on the road. I’ve been changing the team to be whatever the home team is for the town. And it is still shocking to me that I figured out how to write a song that can get a city to root against their own home team! People are yelling, like, “And by the way…” It’s “the Bulls lost” in Chicago. I’m learning more about basketball actively every day than I ever have in my entire life.
When you play Los Angeles, we will wait for you to diss the Lakers. Well, we have two basketball teams to diss, so you’ll be picking one.
I’m gonna have to pick? All right. We’ll see. I don’t even know what the other one is, so I’ll be learning actively on the road.
You were recently on stage not just with Zach Bryan, who you have sat in with before, but but Bruce Springsteen. What was that experience like?
I saw Zach’s show at Crypto.com Arena last fall, where you were a guest on several songs. He was playing in the round, and he did the thing where he is constanty moving around and performing on one of the four sides of the stage. And I thought, is Maggie going to know to do that too? And sure enough, you went around to all four sides of the stage.
I feel really grateful. I’ve had many wonderful teachers throughout the eight years that I’ve done this. And in 2017 and 2018 I opened for Mumford and Sons, and they played in the round on a very similar stage. They’re also a band where it’s really live and there can be guests and you’re running around and going to this side and that side, and those guys really taught me how to handle a stage like that, where there’s an immense amount of perfect chaos, and you need to keep an eye on the audience and keep an eye on the band. So when I got onto that stage (with Bryan), in that perfect moment, it was one of these times of alignment in my life where I had really done my homework, where I had had great teachers and great experiences that made me feel like I was really ready for it.
Did you feel like you learned anything from Zach about how you’re going to rock arenas, or did you already feel prepared for that before?
What’s amazing about Zach is that he’s so wonderfully himself both on stage and off. And I love the sort of dramatic performance element of putting on a show, but playing with Zach is a really great reminder that just being yourself is also always enough.
Finally, to really shift gears… you’ve been attending Harvard divinity school for years. The New Yorker article said you’re writing a book based off your thesis that ties together ideas about religion and pop. So this a book you’re actually going be publishing, not just turning in as something academic, right?
Yeah, I’m about halfway through with it right now. I’ve decided that, rather than selling the book, I’d rather just write it and then I’ll find a publisher once I’m finished writing it, rather than sort of bringing a couple chapters forward first. But, yeah, I love writing, and I wrote a hundred-ish pages for my academic master’s thesis. I’ve had this fellowship at Harvard over the last semester where I feel just so lucky to get to work with so many wonderful teachers and have such a creative space that feels just really safe and really nourishing there. And yeah, I’m just working away on it. I like creative projects that take a long time and that ask you to sit with ideas, and this is something that I’ve been sitting with and working on for the last three or four years, if you count my academic work. So I don’t really have a timeline for it, but I’m loving having this project in my back pocket.
I love school so much. I’m sad to go, but it feels time, and the good news is that I’ve made friends and connections and have mentors there that I think I’ll carry for a lifetime. And I see a world where like I would love to teach or be a professor one day. That’s far, far off in the future, but I know that it’s not the last time I’ll be in and around school. And I’m really happy to take the sort of structure and groundedness I’ve found in academics on the road, as something I can work on in a hotel room or a dressing room.
