Described as being one of the prettiest ships you’ll see within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay, the steel-hulled Au Co invites you to retrace the steps of colonial-era explorers in lavish vintage style. The ship offers exceptional destination-focused, 3-day environmentally-friendly itineraries around the attractions of Lan Ha Bay and Halong Bay, visiting secret beaches, forested islands, and dazzling sea lakes.
Life On Board
Gourmet cuisine is one of the highlights on board the Au Co. The 70-passenger Terrace Deck Restaurant showcases a striking black and earthy beige color theme, with pops of gold and green brightening the light-filled space. Striking Art Deco furnishings evoke a turn-of-the-century glamor while angular details and bold geometrics add a playful vibe. Relish a delightful breakfast buffet spread, an elegant multi-course lunch and dinner, as well as BBQ nights under the stars and an evening with a folk-dance performance.
Signature dishes fuse the best of Vietnamese and Western flavors and cooking techniques, featuring locally caught squid, prawn, and sea bass, imported Australian beef, seasonally fresh produce, and the decadent specialty known as “crêpes aumônière”. A tailor-made menu designed for vegan, gluten free and other dietary preferences is available upon request.
For your pleasure, you can look forward to excellent service, a dedicated team of 44 knowledgeable, smiling staff, and first-class facilities including the aforementioned exquisite restaurant, a spa room with a jacuzzi for wellness treatments, and, with its updated contemporary look and ultra-comfortable chairs, the covered outdoor Lan Ha Bar is an inviting space to relax and enjoy Happy Hour, surrounded by Halong’s fabulous scenery. New for 2022 there are also special yoga-themed cruise departures, with expert practitioners onboard to guide guests on a “journey of inner freedom”, teaching them wellness rituals for daily enrichment, alongside meditation, yin yoga classes and breath-work.
Discover the Au Co Library, filled with hundreds of books that will suit all tastes; you are welcome to borrow books and magazines at your leisure during the cruise. Located on the top level of the Au Co, the spacious sundeck is the ideal place for sunbathing, participating in on-board activities, and marveling at the splendor of Halong Bay. On-board activities include cooking classes, the MasterChef “Halong Bay Edition” competition, a BBQ party, movie nights, and evening entertainment.
Later retire to one of her 32 luxurious cabins and sumptuous suites onboard, in seven different categories ranging in size from 215 square feet to 430 square feet. Each has a private French balcony offering wonderful views, as well as a high-end bathroom and a range of comfortable furnishings, luxurious beds and linens, and modern facilities.
Onshore & Water Activities
Activities include swimming, fishing, kayaking in emerald waters, cycling, and trekking through the local villages. You can also visit the peaceful Viet Hai village, and the Cua Van floating village, as well as the pristine Ba Ham Lake, which is surrounded by towering mountains and is so secluded that it may only be reached by kayak or Vietnamese sampan boat. It is actually made up of three large lakes connected by three cave tunnels. Here, you may spot Golden Langur monkeys, flying squirrels, and parrots.
There are many beautiful beaches in Halong Bay such as Titop, Bai Chay, Tuan Chau, and Soi Sim, but Three Peaches Beach (Ba Trai Dao) located in Lan Ha Bay is probably the most beautiful, and is located on an islet home to a group of three small mountains that look like three peaches from a distance.
The family friendly Au Co cruise of Halong Bay and Lan Ha is ideal for couples, solo travelers, families and groups of friends.
Itineraries & Prices
All itineraries are subject to change due to seasonal weather conditions (and resultant variations in river and tributary water levels) affecting accessibility to locations. Thus navigation routes, times and excursions may need to be modified at the cruise captain’s or your guide's discretion.
3 Day - Discovery of the Gulf of Tonkin
Hanoi - Lan Ha Bay
AM : Arrive at Bhaya Cruise Center, located within the Tuan Chau International Marina. Relax in the private lounge that is exclusively accessible to the Au Co’s passengers with amuse-bouche and lemon tea. Board the Au Co and visit your cabin before heading to the Halong Restaurant for a safety briefing as well as to meet the Cruise Manager and the crew while enjoying a fresh welcome drink.
PM: Your journey begins with a Vietnamese fusion lunch while the Au Co cruises towards the southwest of Halong Bay and passes through Phao Dai Islet. Take a dip in the green emerald water in Ba Ham Lake. When kayaking around the area, find yourself a tranquil stretch of white sandy beach which is perfect for sunbathing. If the weather is unfavorable, the cruise will head to the Ang Du area.
Participate in a MasterChef “Halong Bay Edition” Competition and fruit carving demonstration on the sundeck (or in the restaurant, depending on the weather). Try your hand at creating authentic Vietnamese dishes, with the winner of the competition awarded surprising gifts.
Make sure to admire the sunset over enchanting Halong Bay while the Au Co anchors for the night. Enjoy Happy Hour deals with complimentary snacks at Lan Ha Open Bar with buy one get one free offers on a vast selection of drinks.
Savor the beautiful set-menu dinner in the restaurant while admiring the Vietnamese cultural dances. Spend the evening at your leisure. Watch a film at Moonlight Open Cinema, sip cocktails on the sundeck, or play board games at the reception area.
Lan Ha Bay - Halong Bay
AM : Rejuvenate the body and spirit with a refreshing Tai Chi lesson as the sun rises over the acclaimed UNESCO Heritage Site. Complimentary coffee and tea are served in the restaurant at this time for who might need a pick-me-up.
Start the day with a hearty breakfast buffet in the restaurant as the Au Co cruises towards Lan Ha Bay.
Enjoy swimming at the beautiful beach in Lan Ha Bay named Ba Trai Dao Beach. The area is easily recognized by its three rounded peaks of equal height, said to resemble peaches when viewed from afar.
Later, we return to the Au Co for some time at leisure to relax or try the jacuzzi and onboard spa or join the Bridge and Engine room tour to discover the boat.
PM : Lunch is served in Halong Restaurant while the Au Co passes the beautiful karst towers of Lan Ha Bay to reach Cat Ba Island.

Our guest's experiences (7).
Our family - 2 adults and 2 kids (aged 8 and 6) and we had such an amazing experience! The cruise introduced awesome excursions - cycling, cave discovery, visiting floating villages,... Only one thing was that the spa services were provided near the engine so it was quite noisy. And my kids did not have many things to do on board. Overall, great vacation!
The facilities on board were of high standard. Our room was at the front of the ship with plenty of space and comfort as well as spectacular views. I would highly recommend a 2-night cruise, really a perfect way to explore this breathtaking bay. Meals were beautifully presented, however they lacked flavors. The portions were adequate and ideal. The crew were lovely and helpful.
I cannot recommend this cruise enough! They were truly professional and their plans were well organized from the very first - transfer. Pick-up and drop-off in Hanoi were smooth and punctual, the bus was comfortable as well! We had a perfect room with a balcony. The cooking class was the most interesting activity on board. For the excursions, bamboo boating was unique and memorable too. Only one negative thing was that drinks were slightly overpriced. Overall, an excellent cruise and we would definitely choose this cruise again!
Halong Bay is definitely a must-visit place when you come to Vietnam. We were surprised at so many jaw-dropping limestone karsts and clear waters. The shuttle bus was convenient with wifi and A/C. But the wifi on board had a really weak connection. Our suite was large and even had a jacuzzi, which was very nice. Breakfast was just ok, but lunch and dinner were of high standards. Exploring the floating fishing village was a unique memorable experience.
My boyfriend and I spent 1 day with Au Co Cruise and it was definitely good for value. We saw so many impressive and majestic seascapes, had delicious and fulfilling meals, and joined a lot of fascinating activities. The staff were kind and helpful. Fruit carving was challenging but interesting and everyone had so much fun. However, I suggest the cruise should collect the plastic and trash after the beach trip, as the water was quite spoiled. The transfer from Hanoi and back was smooth and comfortable.
I was welcomed on board by the dedication and hospitality of the staff. Meals were absolutely luxurious and the activity of fruit carving was exciting too. The boat was huge and there were many other passengers, so we had great chats and everyone was so friendly and polite. One thing was that meals were included but waters during meals were not, which was really unclear. The cost of beverages were also quite high. Other than that, everything was nice and pleasant!
Such a wonderful time in Halong Bay with Au Co Cruise! The staff were enthusiastic and willing to help. Rooms were quite small but well appointed with adequate amenities. The seascapes were beyond our expectations, really breathtaking and amazing! Food was delicious too although some dishes were a little bland. Trinh Nu Cave was nice but we were absolutely impressed by the lovely & tranquil Viet Hai Village.

Booked a cruise through this Hunter cruise agent and the cruise experience was beautiful. The sightseeing tours were exciting. Photos do not do this place justice. It is absolutely stunning. Everywhere you go the views are amazing. The sunsets and sunrise are perfect. Get your camera ready as this place is beautiful..
The name halong came from the legend that a dragon landed on this bay. The view is wonderful. Each one of scattered islands gave me wonderful photos. My trip was just a day trip and I think it is too short. Spend at least one night. Yes photos of ha long bay are stunning, but you will be more stunned if you actually go there and see them with your own eyes..
Halong Bay was Visit on our Cambodia/Vietnam tour, we were very lucky to have our own guide and Junk Boat with crew. The Bay is such a beautiful place, we had a wonderful time spending all morning on the boat with lunch cooked for us.Halong Bay is certainly a must Visit if touring North Vietnam, fully recommended..
The views of the limestone islands in the Bay are stunning, especially if the weather cooperates. Strongly encourage one night on one of the many boats that ply the bay to allow for a less hurried itinerary and the very pleasant experiences of sunrise and sunset views. The boats are highly regulated and must stick to designated areas, but they are enough for lots of enjoyment. Various stops at caves, lookouts, kayaking, and small beach. Very good food on board our cruise with A-Class Stellar Cruises! Cabin was much cleaner and more "luxurious" than I expected..
Took the float plane both ways to save time. We only had one day and this was the best way to spend it. Thoroughly recommend the organisation we went with..
2 night 3 day cruise with v spirit, highly recommend, magic site even though we didn't go far into the bay. Lots of other boats at times added and detracted from the experience. Highly recommebd taking the extra night. Be careful who you go with as we heard some horro stories. Recommend v spirit great people, great service and food..
Just go and enjoy.. We stayed in a local boat Signagture over night so had a great opportunity to spend time just looking at the stunning scenery.. we also went canoeing to see some hidden away caves..
Halong Bay has been a dream of mine to visit for so long. It was breathtakingly beautiful and I could never get tired of the views! The colours and layers of all the cliffs and mountains are spectacular. Just make sure you find the right cruise - ours was overpriced and not worth it so do your research first! Also don't be surprised that there are a large number of boats around at night as they all park up together, but during the day we seemed to be on our own quite a lot. I think in the future this place won't be so nice as there is already so much rubbish floating around that it will continue to accumulate. Save this place by not littering and taking any rubbish back with you that you can..
This area has been a World Heritage Place among seven wonders of nature since 1994. What a beautiful spot on earth. A Halong Bay with its breathtaking beauty was undeniable and it is the most popular site to visit in Hanoi. There are many other things to do pay on the bay as well, like caving many many caves to choose from. Very helpful and informative and fun as well. If by overnight cruise, you can kayak by yourself to discover the bay, the cave more exciting..
the local village tour to Muong Hoa valley, Lao Chai and ta Vun village were worth for a visit. They also arrange a free taxi from our hotel in Sapa town to cable car station for us to visit Fansian peak..

Description
Launched in March 2012, Au Co Cruise is proud to be the newest and most luxurious Halong Bay cruise. This unique one is dedicated to the Mother of Vietnamese civilization named "Au Co". The vessel consists of 32 spacious cabins with meticulous decoration and modern convenience. Its itinerary is designed specially to give tourists a wonderful voyage to explore the Gulf of Tonkin (including Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay and Cat Ba Island).
Unique route to discover stunning bays
The three day two night cruise offers the unique route of all, which allows you to travel to three stunning bays and a lush green island-Cat Ba. First, the world-famous Halong Bay is waiting with dramatic scenery and inviting and isolated sandy beaches. The next destination is Halong bay’s southern sister: Lan Ha Bay. The bay offers the tranquility and nature at its best. The final Bay to go is the furthest one, Bai Tu Long Bay. This bay is promising to be a must-visit place in the future given its exceptional scale and a variety of rock formation. Additionally, the national park Cat Ba Island featuring great diversity of flora and fauna also attracts many visitors.
Restaurant and Bar - a good place for enjoying food and drink as well as the gorgeous landscape
The restaurant and bar of the Au Co located on the terrace deck, providing a harmonious balance between sight and taste. Local culinary delights and international gourmet food can easily tease your taste buds. Additionally, an array of aperitifs, wines, cocktails, and drinks are always available to serve you. Superb food, gorgeous landscape, both help satisfy any choosy guests.
A true sense of Vietnamese culinary culture
For cooking class and those hoping to discover the country’s culture, the Vietnamese cooking class may interest you. Two experienced chefs with their proficient English are eager to impart the gastronomic refinement to you. Then, you can widen your knowledge of Vietnam’s culture, or you can surprise your friends and family by the exotic dishes from a tropical land.
Enjoy the purest air by taking part in early morning Tai Chi class
Every minute on the Au Co is worth each of your penny. Don’t regret several minutes of getting up early to see the sunrise and join an exhilarating activity: Tai Chi class. The pure and cold morning air on the Bay is most suitable to practice this martial art. Following smooth movements, you will feel completely relaxed from head to toe.
Remove tiredness, stress in massage and spa room
Coming to the Au Co, you not only enjoy the pleasant atmosphere but also are pampered in first-class facilities of spa and Jacuzzi facilities. The ship is confident in refreshing you after a long day of adventurous activities. Why not indulge yourself by therapeutic massage or beauty treatment, or else immerse in the Jacuzzi to wash away worries and pains.
Exploring Halong Bay with series of exciting activities
The Gulf of Tonkin is the perfect place for a handful of exciting activities, namely biking, kayaking, swimming, and squid fishing. These activities will surround you with dramatic scenery and sharpen your sense of adventure. Challenge your muscle by kayak and explore the magnificent caves, lagoons and untouched neighboring bays, or leisurely ride a bike along winding roads in Cat Ba, a wild but beautiful island. Biking service is solely provided by the Au Co cruise, so do not release this golden chance to enjoy this wonderful island. Additionally, wallowing in the fresh and cool water in bays is a should-not-miss experience. You can enjoy these activities without any safety concern because the Au Co staff are always on hand to protect you.

“Excellent Cruise and Staff – Au Co Cruise” from Anna Stanley – United State Service was very very good, We love the cruise and we enjoyed the kayaking activity. The food on board was excellent and it was very private. I liked the fact that everybody was friendly but did their own things.Cruise Lan Ha Bay had a great services & very quick respond, highly thank you and recommend to all our friends.
“Au Co Cruise” from mpgreenberg – Orlando, Floria, USA My wife and I booked the Au Co cruise, even though it was a bit more expensive than what we were looking to pay, we decided to splurge. As has been reported, many people book the regular Baya Classic and are upgraded to the new boat for free. This seems like it would be ideal due to how expensive it is if you book online. I must say, we had a blast, the boat and esp the crew were just fantastic. At one point one of the guests was having a hard time getting back to the boat due to being tired (and over weight) and two of the crew thought he was in trouble and actually jumped into the water with their clothes on the help him. That is how dedicated they are. The boat is by far the largest in the bay compared with the other cruises. They kept us busy with very fun things to do (kayaking, biking, swimming, cave exploring). Make sure you do the Cat Ba bike ride, very neat to ride through the simple Vietnamese villiage and good exercise. Overall, just a great experience and we are very glad we chose Au Co. The Captain is really funny Aussy too!

"This tour is exactly a romantic escape with my partner."
Stay on the second deck, the grand deluxe room, we were impressive with the design and its comfy. The extra space and thoughtful design made it feel like a home away from home. The large bed was super cozy, and the wooden accents were too elegant for me… We actually didn’t need to go outside or participate in outdoor activities, just stayed in the room, sipped a good drink and admired halong and lan ha bay are everything! But we were so happy to explore some spots here, we will back in the future.

"3 days 2 nights on Au Co cruise is so memorable!"
The Au Co cabin was my accommodation, and the staff told me that its name was inspired by a character in vietnamese legend. That’s why we were served with the best services? haha. The culinary experience on the cruise was outstanding with a diverse menu showcasing Vietnamese flavors, oh i was in love with the cuisine and coffee here… We did attend many activities with lots of fun and excitement, and interacted with local friends in Viet Hai village made me happier than ever! Thank you Halong bay cruise deals for an amazing trip!
"Big thanks to Halong Bay Cruise Deals for being kind to me."
From the moment I stepped on board, you welcomed me with a warm heart and fresh drink, I can say that the staff went above and beyond to make my journey memorable. It’s my first solo travel and I got very nervous but you guys treat me so well. The only thing that remains on my mind is your kind and beautiful Vietnam images, thank you a lot.
"Good, but needs some improvement"
I have experienced some cruise tours and this cruise is good enough for me. This Au Co cruise had a fantastic outdoor bar, but the wifi at sea was a bit shaky. Anyway, the crew's dedication and the visit to Sung Sot cave were highlights, but some areas could be enhanced for a better experience.
"The Au Co cruise in Halong bay was an amazing adventure!"
The crew made us feel at home right from the start. Our room, the Long Quan cabin, was big and comfy, i can feel how 5-star quality tastes :) My favorite things at this cruise are the bar and jacuzzi. The outdoor bar had the best views, especially during the sunset and it’s perfect for sipping on drinks. The jacuzzi on the deck was super relaxing and my girlfriend loved this the most :) On the next day, we learned cool stuff on the engine room tour with the Captain, he was very very gentle and answered our questions carefully.
The Vietnam food was out of our expectations, we had been waiting to try Vietnamese cuisine for a long long time. Very delicious! The only thing that i can complain about is wifi, which is a bit wonky sometimes, but who needs it with such awesome views? haha. Overall, it was a fantastic trip that i'd recommend to everyone.
"The spectacular views in Halong Bay made me overwhelmed."
The Au Co cruise provided stunning views of Halong Bay, which would be the best thing that I expected to see on a Vietnam trip! I really love the outdoor bar and it was my favorite spot for enjoying the scenery. I also tried the spa treatment, rcm for everyone because it was a rejuvenating experience and I never felt so fresh at that time! Btw the staff's hospitality made the trip special, you know, they always took care of us, it meant a lot to me!
"A tranquil escape for me these days!"
A serene journey through Au Co 2 days in Halong Bay! The beautiful cabins, friendly staff, and outdoor bar made it an unforgettable experience. The Jacuzzi on the deck with panoramic views was a highlight to experience. I hope to be back again!
"I enjoyed everything"
Everything was so nice, I love the design, my cabin was clean and decorated pretty. All the meals were good, they were well aware of my dietary restrictions and made sure that I could have many options to choose from. Definitely the best time I spent in north Vietnam.
