Self-Guided Cycling in Andalucia: Seville to Cadiz

Very well organised tour. The route notes were extremely detailed and helpful as the route was quite complicated some days - presumably to avoid busy roads. However the country wasn’t good for enjoyable cycling, being treeless and agricultural, and apart from the White Villages I really only enjoyed the scenery on the third day from Montellano to Arcos when the route went through the hills and along the river on a good Via Verde. On the last day getting out of Jerez took an hour then soon after it was semi-industrial wasteland. The Via Verde between Seville and Carmona was in terrible condition with deep ruts and sand. I was also unlucky to get a flat- the seal at the tube valve failed- and I had terrible trouble changing the tube- the plastics levers not strong enough and the pump nozzle completely stuck. I left a note to the bike hire.

Andalucia Cycling: Seville to Córdoba in 7 days

Absolutely Amazing. A wet spring provided for an abundance of wild flowers and beautiful green hills. This area of Spain is hilly, so if you like hills… this is a great trip. If you don’t, no worries, get an e-bike. The history and culture of this area is very interesting and Experience Plus does a very good job of weaving cultural experience into your riding tour.

This was a great tour to see a lot in a short time. Tour guides were knowledgeable. Lots of time spent on the bus, but trip covers a great distance. Had some lovely stops along the way. Clara, our guide in Seville was excellent! We really enjoyed her tour through the city - extremely knowledgeable, with a great sense of humour!

6-Day The South of Spain and the Treasures of Andalucia Small-Group Tour from Madrid

Our small tour ( 3 travellers) with our very knowledgeable guide Violeta was wonderful. We had very comfortable touring van with great driver Pedro and excellent accomodation. Although a fast paced program with some long driving days and lots of walking - we had sufficient time to enjoy key cities and highlights notably the Mezquita in Córdoba and the Alhambra in Granada- as well as plenty of stop offs on side routes - the windmills of Castilla - La Manchia, the Fortaleza de la Mota ( amazing) and the unexpected but fun trek in El Torcal de Antequera with its unique pre historic limestone formations and spectacular mountain scenery on the way up. We took optional tours for Phillip Stark’s work in progress organic olive farm/ restaurant/ tasting room which when completed (ETA end 2023) am sure will be a must see .Less so for us was the expensive tour ( 40 Euros !) of Tio Pepe factory and compound . After the long drive the day before this was also a long sidetrip out of Seville with lots of traffic coming back into the city - and in hindsight we would have preferred to use the time exploring Seville.Violeta found a very good Flamenco show for us to book in Seville. You can also see for a small donation authentic dancers and singers at Plaza de Espagna. Overall a wonderful and memorable tour.

Andalusia and Toledo 5 Days from Madrid

1)Tourradar never sent me an itinerary; I must call Julia travel to know exactly the departure point 2) No wi-fi in the bus as I saw in other tours 3) The hotels classified as "standard" were less thant that, we had problems with the rooms in both locations 4) The local guides were excellent but in particular for Toledo was a dissaster

Heart of Andalusia 6 Days, Self-drive

The locations on our trip were amazing! Wish we would have had more time at each stop. The car and hotels were great! We had a small issue with the car rental return because we needed to return the car prior to the time the business opened. They did make accommodations for us but it did cost us an additional fee. Overall, great communication from customer service! Thank you!

Andalusia with Costa del Sol & Toledo

There was some confusion about the meeting place in Madrid, Tourradar called it the Courtyard by Marriott Princesa Hotel which doesn't exist there anymore. Its now the Princesa Plaza Hotel which it does state in the Julia Travel itinerary so they need to align themselves on this issue. Other than that the tour was a lot of fun and Marina, our tour guide, was so amazing and extremely patient but always had a smile on her face and Paco our driver was also amazing. If there was anything critical to say it was the meals at a couple of the stops left us disappointed, especially in Sevilla. We expected something far better from the beautiful Melia Hotel than pan fried dry chicken and potato patties the first night and regular pasta the second, hardly traditional Spanish cuisine! Very disappointing but a beautiful hotel none the less. The hotel in Granada left us a little disappointed as well, on kind of a trashy street in the downtown area with few restaurants nearby, We left wake up calls at all the hotels we stayed at and only received one in four requests even though we went directly to the front desk, in each case, to request them and watched as they either wrote it in their schedule or added it in their system. Was not happy about this as we had early morning starts each day of the tour. The locations were all amazing and the guides we met along the way were very good all around but there should be some alternate arrangements that can be made to accomodate some of the older clients as far as the amount of walking they had to do, maybe have some golf carts there to assist them through the long streches from point A to point B, especially in the case of the L'Hambra where it is a fair distance down a hill and then up one from the bus drop off to the starting point on the tour. Overall a good tour and I would book another through Tourradar but my advice would be to make inquiries into the hotels you're staying at and not be satisfied with the claim that they will be "similar" to the one you start in, they're not! I would also keep your tour short, you have a variety of nationalities on the bus and they all have their own ideas of what personal space is or is not and some have no idea what the meaning of lining up for something is all about.....I guess its a cultural thing maybe?

What people love about 7 Day Southern Spain Tours

Overall the tour was fine. The hotels were all very good and generally in good locations. It was your typical somewhat of a "forced march" tour, but there is a lot of ground to cover so you expect that. The tour bus was reasonably comfortable. The tour staff and drivers were friendly, welcoming, and attentive to people's needs along the way with frequent stops for comfort needs. My only complaint was the tour guide at the Alhambra who spent to much time talking about what tourists can do in Granada using up the time available for the tour and actually, as best I can determine, skipped a very important part of the Alhambra on the tour, the Patio de Los Leones, one of the most beautiful parts of the complex. I have been to the Alhambra before and from my own research I know this was passed over on the tour. A very great disappointment. This was not the fault of the tour operator as the guide there was not their staff. However, since this was for me the primary reason to take this particular tour program, it did not then meet my expectations for the tour as presented. The time in the other cities and what was covered was perfectly fine. That having been said I would still be fine recommending this tour to first time travelers. Just be prepared for long bus rides and early departures needed to cover the ground.

Murcia christmas market.

Murcia Christmas market was just lovely, with amazing decorations and local mucians entertaining in all the plazas.  My friend had a mobility scooter which the driver took form us and put in the boot and as we got onto the coach our seats had been reserved at the front so we didn't have to walk far, even though we hadn't requested it, what service.

We had an excellent evening with a concert in the square to entertain while we waited for our coach home.  Looking forward to more trips as we can take the scooter and get on so close to where we live.

what a great night, the market was so big and the atmosphere was really good.  We had two small children with us and they loved the entertainment with the really old fairground rides and the puppet show.  The evening was very educational for them and they made new friends with local children.  Also thank you to paspatou for thinking of everyone on the coach even the little ones by giving them pillows so they could sleep on the journey home.

It has a rich culture and strong identity due to its history and culture having been influenced by native Iberians, Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Greeks, Romans, Vandals, Visigoths, Byzantines, Jews, Romani, Muslim Moors and the northern Castilian and other North Iberian people who settled in the area after the ‘Reconquista’.

Day 1. (tuesday) madrid – cordoba – seville.

Departure from Madrid. We’ll drive southward along Castilla Province, the land of Don Quixote , “ The Man from La Mancha ”, along the way observing vast vineyards. We’ll cross the natural border of “ Despeñaperros ” and get into Andalusia , a region with a huge heritage from a splendorous past. Our first destination is Cordoba , former capital of the Caliphate . Lead by a knowledgeable English speaking guide we will visit the highlights of Cordoba : the narrow winding streets of the Jewish Quarter , the Synagogue and the fantastic Great Mosque of Cordoba , one of the world’s greatest works of Islamic architecture , still standing from the time Muslims ruled Al-Andalus, that will ease our mind and spirit. In the afternoon, after a short ride we’ll arrive to Seville , the capital of Andalusia . Arrival at the hotel, dinner and accommodation.

Day 2. (Wednesday) SEVILLE

Afterbreakfast we’ll do a monumental and panoramic visit of Seville . You will visit from outside the Cathedral of Seville , the second largest in the Catholic world after San Pedro in Rome and its famous Giralda , the old minaret of the Arab mosque, then stroll throuhg the popular neighborhoods of Santa Cruz , natural scenery of “ Carmen ” as well as where it developed the myth of “ Don Juan ” and also Triana , with a deep popular flavor and cradle of bullfighters and artists. After the visit you’ll enjoy some free to discover different perspectives and specific flavors of this active city full of light. May we recommend you an optional boat trip on the Guadalquivir River to enjoy the panoramic views that exist from the boat? Then you can walk along the banks of the Guadalquivir River, the “great king of Andalusia” as the local poet Luis de Góngora y Argote called it. At night, optionally you can enjoy a flamenco show.

Day 3. (Thursday) SEVILLE – RONDA – COSTA DEL SOL

After breakfast at the hotel we’ll drive south along the Route of the White Washed Villages , listening to stories of bandits while arriving at Ronda , one of the most beautiful towns in Andalusia , situated on the gorge of the Guadalevin River (locally known as Tajo de Ronda ) that cuts the city in half . You’ll enjoy some fre time to admire this town of Celtic origin and the marvellous views of the valley and mountain range. In the afternoon continue on to the Costa del Sol , one of the most modern and important international tourist areas of Spain. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Marbella.

Day 4. (Friday) COSTA DEL SOL – GRENADE

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Granada , with its incredible and amazing monumental environment, the last stronghold of the Moorish Kingdom up to 1492. We’ll visit the world-famous Alhambra complex with its imposing Alcazaba fortress , the Palace of Charles V, and the Generalife Gardens , fountains, gardens, and courtyards that with their sights and sounds have inspired authors such as Washington Irving in his “ Tales of the Alhambra “. Free time in the afternoon. We recommend you to visit the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel that houses the tombs of the Catholic Monarchs or stroll through the Albaicín neighborhood and enjoy the beautiful views of the Alhambra from the Mirador de San Nicolás . Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Optionally you can see a Gipsy Flamenco Show held in a cave-house at Sacromonte Quarter .

Day 5. (Saturday) GRENADE – TOLEDO – MADRID

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive northward where, toward the sky of Castile and surrounded by the Tagus River , it emerges the impressive Imperial City of Toledo – a World Heritage City – where the three cultures Christians , Moorish and Jewish , have lived together in harmony. Resume of the Spanish art, history and spirituality, the whole town of Toledo is a National Monument . We’ll enjoy the lunch in a local restaurant (included) and then we’ll do an in depth city tour of Toledo that includes the most important monuments, its narrow streets and we’ll discover the famous “ Damasquinado Art ” (gold and silver inlaying in iron). After the visit we’ll continue to Madrid . Arrival and end of our services.
