‘Cruise Control’ is one of Headless Chicken’s most poppy and accessible songs, and became a hit in New Zealand, and (in remixed form), in Australia. This studio shot promo, for the ‘Eskimos in Egypt’ remix, has Fiona McDonald and the Chickens packed into a touring car, cruising through old school, rear projected cityscapes at night. It’s dark and moody: a wry touch of Hollywood glamour mixed with early 90s Auckland — dated by Knight Rider , bling and brick-sized mobile phones.

The New York recording artist said about this song: "'Cruise Control' was the second trip I took to Atlanta to work with Jermaine. What it really means is, it goes [sings] 'Might need to go slow, I don't know, Why ease up on the break, Every time I see his face.' Basically, you need to slow down, because every time you're around this guy, you're going a little too fast, 'cause he's the wrong type of guy for you to be with, but you know that, but you don't know how to handle that. So it was cool to kinda co-write that with JD and with Cri$tyle, because you know, it's coming from a woman's point of view and also coming from JD's point of view of making the track really hot."
• This appears on Carey's 11th studio album, E=MC2 . Carey originally intended to embark on a world tour in support of the album but canceled it when she discovered she was pregnant. Sadly, she suffered a miscarriage but went on to give birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe in 2011.

21 Top Cruise Songs to Get You in the Mood for Cruising

Do you have a particular song that plays in your head when you think of cruising? Maybe you even have more than one, like a Cruise Playlist.

I don’t know about you, but as my cruise approaches, I get “prepared” in a couple of ways.

1. The practical

I’m all about the packing lists, shore excursion planning (plus some pre-cruise shopping).

2. The psychological/emotional

I’m serious about this one. I get myself (and my family) in the mood by having a fun attitude and playing some cruise music.

Sometimes I even sing, although not well, so I won’t be entering any cruise karaoke contests.

Favorite Cruise Inspired Songs

It got me thinking, so many cruisers have a cruise playlist of favorite cruise inspired songs. They can be great to listen to before your cruise, as you travel to your cruise ship, or even during times you’re not cruising if you’ve got a little bit of the post-cruise blues .

If you’re creating a cruise vacation video, you may want to use some cruise songs to go along with your fabulous photos, videos and cruise memories.

After scouring the internet and cruise message boards, I’ve put together a cruise playlist. It includes some popular current songs, as well as some cruising classics.  Plus, I’ve included my favorites too!

This is my very favorite cruise song that I listen to when I’m thinking about cruising (which could be anytime). It’s sweet, it’s romantic, and I love it. Corny and all.

2. The Love Boat

Did you know that there is a long version of The Love Boat Theme Song as well as a short version? Oh, and there’s more than that.

If you look this one up on YouTube, you’ll be able to find many of the show openings, where the guest stars appear. It’s pretty fun to go down memory lane like this.

3. Cupid Shuffle

If you’ve cruised in the last 10-15 years, you’ve definitely heard this one!

The Cupid Shuffle is the ultimate cruise line dancing song at Embarkation Day Sailaway Parties. I have to admit, if I hear it, I’m on the dance floor!

4. Cha Cha Slide

This is where my “eighties girl” really shows through. I love some old school Madonna including Holiday (right?) and Cherish, but La Isla Bonita seems to be a favorite of many cruise fans.

16. Escape – The Pina Colada Song

This French song just gets me. While it’s not exclusively about cruising, it talks of the adventure of travel and has a fun eighties sound that totally sticks in my head.

If you don’t know it, give it a listen.

North korea tests strategic cruise missile and new anti-aircraft missile, report: north korea is buying chinese surveillance cameras in a push to tighten control.

SEOUL: North Korea has released a new song praising leader Kim Jong-un for being a “friendly father” and a “great leader”, in a move that appears to be part of a propaganda drive to enhance his standing in the reclusive state.

The music video for the song was aired on the state-controlled Korean Central Television.

It features North Koreans of different backgrounds ranging from children to troops and medical staff exuberantly belting out lines such as: “Let’s sing, Kim Jong-un the great leader” and “Let’s brag about Kim Jong-un, a friendly father”.

A live performance of the song accompanied by an orchestra and watched by Kim was also broadcast on state television.

The Kim family dynasty that has ruled North Korea since its founding after World War Two have sought to strengthen their grip on power by building cults of personality around them.

The release of the upbeat song titled Friendly Father comes at a time when North Korean state media has recently changed the name it uses for a public holiday, prompting speculation that the move is part of efforts to solidify Kim’s position.

Instead of calling the annual public holiday celebrating the birth of the country’s founder Kim Il-sung “Day of the Sun”, state media has started mostly referring to it as the more neutral “April holiday”.

North Korea yesterday ridiculed this week’s Asia tour by the top US envoy to the United Nations, calling it the “aid-begging trip of a loser”.

In a statement, Pyongyang’s foreign ministry said Thomas-Greenfield’s trip – which began Sunday, a day after Iran’s drone and missile strike on Israel –would have been better spent addressing the spiralling situation in the Middle East. — Agencies
