We had a beautiful day celebrating my husband’s birthday on an artemida cruise from the port of skiathos, greece. captain george and his crew provided an amazing experience from the beginning to the end. we visited three beaches that can only be accessed by boat – lalaria, arkos and tsourgria. on board we enjoyed drinks, a light breakfast in the morning and handmade pies and fruit later in the day. at our last stop we surprised my husband with a cake and our hosts opened a refreshing bottle of sparkling wine to add to the festivities. we highly recommend this all day, memory-making aegean excursion..

We provide all the equipment for fishing, of course, George your captain is there for any tips.

We provide you all the snorkelling equipment so you can dive and enjoy the crystal clear waters

Floating noodles and life jacket vests are ready for you to use any time you wish. Also, we provide an inflatable sea mattress to enjoy the sun on the sea.

This trip should definitely score higher in the sailing day tours. We liked the boat, very comfortable in comparison with the others, few people in the trip so it was very relaxing. The captain is also a chef, so we had an amazing lunch, he also prepared a wonderful salad. Would highly recommend this boat with Captain George .

Couldn’t of wished for a better day. My wife’s birthday spent at sea with 12 of us enjoying the various bays and coves . Lovely food and perfect hosts that couldn’t do enough for all of us. Highly recommended.

The catamaran is a nice boat to be on, with plenty of space to relax on. we booked one evening when the boat was in the port and were allowed to have a look on board the boat before we booked our trip. Friendly captain and crew provide a nice and fun atmosphere all day. Took us to some beautiful beaches, especially the ones on skopelos. Great spots for jumping off the boat and having a swim, and some good snorkelling spots too. Lunch on skopelos was fantastic as well (I had the calamari which was great) Free wine and bottled water on board all day was a nice bonus, especially the water which you definitely need when you're out in the sun all day. We even saw a pod of dolphins which was amazing and we followed them around for as long as we could before they disappeared. All in all a really great day, 50 euros each, plus another 10 each for lunch is well worth it for.

We spent a day with all our friends on the Evdora Catamar. Cap. George is very nice and took us to 7 beautiful spots including the beach of Mama Mia. the most beautiful one was tsougria island. we spent the lunch in a tavern on the sea with a special price. all along the trip there was a very nice music chosen by Cap. My husband and I had a fantastic day out with Captain George on the Evdora catamaran. We visited a small, beautiful beach on Skopelos and then headed to a taverna on the island for a 10 euro lunch which was incredibly good value (George has negotiated a deal with the restaurant). We then visited another beach on Skiathos but most of the time was spent just sailing, which was very relaxing, especially with the jazzy music playing. A great day out and good value at 50 euros each! Water and wine are also provided free of charge.

Previous review sums our day up perfectly; including the comment on the music! Captain George and his crew were perfect hosts and managed to work around the rain we had for a while. There were 14 of us but never felt cramped. My wife was on the netting for the sail back from Skopelos and was in fits of laughter as waves crashed over her and our friend; a rollercoaster ride without the predictability. Word of warning, sit back against the bouy and hold on tight, you'll find out why! €45 is excellent value for a days entertainment and we had the €10 meal too which was very good.

1. Tour of the island

There are several daily boat trips to be taken from the harbour in Skiathos Town for touring around the beautifully scenic Island of Skiathos itself. Such a boat trip around Skiathos reveals the natural beauty and textured history of the island. Indeed, why not spend a day blissfully lost at sea in this cruise around beautiful Skiathos Island? For in doing so, you will sail past sparkling white-pebbled beaches, dramatic seascapes and captivating architecture.

The various trips, being almost identical, all tend to stop at the same places that include the likes of Lalaria beach, Kastro and the Blue caves. Surely a great way to see all the beaches of the Island for the reason being they can only be reached by boat or foot, there is furthermore, also opportunity to visit some of the smaller islands just outside Skiathos. When the time is right, you even get to have lunch in the most obscurely interesting of places, and of course, this trip would not be complete without the inclusion of stops for swimming and lunch. Be sure to make the most of each stop during the tour, for instance by snorkelling in the pure blue waters of the Aegean or lounging around the soft sands of a deserted beach…

2. Skopelos / Skopelos – Alonnisos

From Skiathos Island, there are daily boat cruises to the surrounding islands to choose from. Departing from the new port of Skiathos Town, capital of the island, you can make your way to an array of other idyllic islands such as Skopelos and Alonnisos. When in Skopelos, you can enjoy exploration of all the traditional town and streets, visit the folklore museum or the Photograph exhibition, and even have time for lunch and shopping in-between. In the harbour of Skopelos, there are again many boats of all shapes and sizes, which in turn offer many different trips to the near beaches and respective islands. When opting for a daily trip to Alonnisos for instance, the various stops along the way will include the likes of supremely beautiful beaches that resonate with the authentic spirit of “Mamma Mia”. Once you arrive at Patitiri, which is the port of Alonnisos, you can decide to go for a swim or have lunch at this stunning golden beach as situated on the North coast- which is Alonnisos. As a matter of fact, after Skiathos and Skopelos, Alonnisos is the third member of the Northern Sporades as situated 3 km east of the island of Skopelos. An authentic Greek island mostly known for its incredible natural beauty and amazing beaches with waters considered to be the cleanest in the Aegean Sea- the declaration of a marine park is thus no wonder. You can also visit the Old Village and feast your eyes on stunning views over the Aegean, or see the Marine Park exhibition just before the advent of your return journey. All in all, planning your daily trip to any Island near Skiathos would entail enough time for you to indulge in all the best of its wonderfully unique features and attractions.

3. Tsougria Island

When opting for a daily trip to the abandoned Island of Tsougria, you will get to thoroughly enjoy an afternoon by swimming in uber-blue waters, likely coupled with a chilled coffee and picturesque architecture. Coined as home to some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Skiathos, the water here is mostly very shallow, making it ideal for the whole family too. But beyond enjoying the total privacy, tranquillity and overall stunning beauty of one of Tsougria’s secluded beaches, there is even more to discover. For when opting for a 1 hour stop during your daily trip on this small island just opposite of Skiathos Town, you can also pay a visit the old Olive Mill or set your sights on the historically cultivated Church of St. Floros. For choosing a one-day boat trip in Skiathos, the Island of Tsougria is definitely worth the visit.

Explore a Natural Sea Park

Starting from the port of Skiathos at 8.30am – 9.00 am and back at 21.30 pm, with 5 or 6 stops for swimming. First stop at the island of Tsougria for swimming and breakfast. Then a stop at the island of Dasia for swimming and to see the cave with the seals.

After that we visit Skopelos island and Milia beach (Mamma Mia). A stop at the National Marine Park, which is currently the largest protected sea area of Europe, the natural reserve of the endangered monk seal Monachus Monachus.

We continue our swimming trip with a stop in Alonissos port to visit the picturesque town of Alonissos which is the third largest island of Sporades, where we have lunch at the traditional restaurant “tzitzifies”, which offers a rich choice of fresh fish and lobster or any other preferences. (The visit to the restaurant is not included in the trip price).

We stop at Peristera island to see dolphins swimming and relaxation in the yacht. We stop at Eklissia Ag. Ioannis (Mamma mia) in the afternoon for photographs and then we stop again at Lalaria and Kastro for a swim and photos (provided that the weather conditions will allow a stop there). A final stop at Arkos island for a swim, sunset, fruit and afternoon coffee or tea.

Desperate Vladimir Putin plunges 22 million Russians into darkness in bitter -22C winter

Moscow is to be plunged into darkness as putin ordered rolling blackouts amid freezing temperatures, according to reports..

Vladimir Putin has reportedly ordered rolling energy blackouts across Moscow as temperatures reach - 22C. The blackouts are said to cover the entire metropolitan area of Russia's which has a total population of around 22 million. The order issued states that electricity is "not to exceed 12 hours per day" with the blackouts in place from January 14 through March 31 2024, according to Ukraine commentator Igor Sushko.

Sushko posted on X: "The entire Moscow metropolitan area, population 22 million, will have rolling blackouts of electricity "not to exceed 12 hours per day" from January 14 through March 31, 2024. - announced by the fascist state."

It comes after a heating main ruptured at the Klimovsk Specialised Ammunition Plant in Podolsk, about 30 miles south of central Moscow, on January 4. As a result, tens of thousands of Russians are said to be without heat in their homes in the Moscow region due to subzero temperatures.

According to a map published by a Russian Telegram channel and circulated on various social media platforms, the affected areas include cities such as Khimki, Balashikha, Lobnya, Lyubertsy, Podolsk, Chekhov, Naro-Fominsk, and Podolsk.

Residents in Moscow, specifically Balashikha, Elektrostal, Solnechnogorsk, Dmitrov, Domodedovo, Troitsk, Taldom, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Krasnogorsk, Pushkino, Ramenskoye, Voskresensk, Losino-Petrovsky, and Selyatino, are also experiencing power outages, according to other Russian media reports.

Power outages have been reported in St. Petersburg, Rostov, Volgograd, Voronezh, and Primorsky. Meanwhile, a huge fire tore through a large warehouse used by Russia ’s largest online retailer south of St Petersburg on Saturday morning.

The blaze covered an area of 70,000 square meters, with 50,000 square meters of the Wildberries warehouse collapsing, according to Russia ’s Emergency Situations Ministry. No casualties were reported.

Videos posted to social media appeared to show employees running down fire escapes and fleeing the scene. A video shot from a passenger jet flying nearby showed flames totally engulfing the warehouse, sending huge plumes of smoke into the sky.
