Inside the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Locker room
Being in the area and having nothing to do before the Rangers game started, I decided to hop on over to AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, for a tour. When I got to the ticket office I was informed that due to preparations for a New Direction concert there would be No Field Access and the only type of tour they were offering was a VIP Guided Tour. I purchased one of these tour tickets for only $17.50, the price of a Self-Guided Tour ticket, but discounted since the field was not put down due to the upcoming concert. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the entire stadium, the team, and the NFL in general. We got to see the world's largest HD video display, plus the Dr. Pepper Star Bar party deck, Jerry Jones' owners' suite, Cotton Bowl Classic Office, a private suite that costs way more than you could ever hope to afford, both the Dallas Cowboys and their Cheerleaders locker rooms, the Miller Lite Club, and various other areas. Inside the Cheerleaders locker room there was still a timeline for the group left up on the whiteboard from before the Cowboys/Ravens preseason game in August. 5:10PM was their Circle Stretch, followed by a 5:45PM Prayer leading to 5:50PM's "American Woman" which plays on game days when they first step out onto the field. Another reminder for the cheerleaders is posted up on the upper-right corner of the board. The message states, "Be So Happy That When Others Look At You They Become Happy Too".
On-line tickets for a self-guided tour of the stadium. The Sat. we visited, it was rally day and they had a variety of activities.
Can`t say enough about the VIP stadium tour. Even though I AM NOT a Cowboy`s fan, you have to appreciate the architecture and facilities at AT&T Stadium. Amazing....simply amazing...
Nice stadium.. Like location.. expensive but we'll worth the trip. Would most definitely visit again
My wife and I traveled to Dallas for the Texans vs Cowboys game this weekend... Now we are Texans fans so I am not expecting to love their stadium.... but you just have to. This place is absolutely amazing. Of course it is covered - it is in Texas with heat and lots of rain - but they even put the ramps and staircases inside air conditioning... not so much at NRG stadium in Houston. We found the staff extremely friendly and again - we were Texans Fans with Texans shirts on. From the front door to the seat it was simply amazing and once you sit down you are starring at this HUGE video screen with an amazing sound system tied to it. The productions were first class and the atmosphere was very friendly... the only thing that would have made it better would have been a win.
Great experience. Would definitely go to another game. Went to the Dallas Cowboys vs. New Orleans Saints game. Had a great time.

The VIP Experience on an AT&T Stadium Tour
By Author Laura Longwell
Posted on Last updated: January 12, 2021
“Before we get started with the tour, I have a very important question to ask you,” my guide said. “Do you know why there’s a hole in the roof of the stadium?”
“So God can watch his team play,” I said, without missing a beat. My mom, who was along for the ride on our AT&T Stadium tour just stared at me. “I’ve been watching the Cowboys for 40 years, and I’ve never heard that,” she said.
The exchange tells you pretty much all you need to know about what it’s like to be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Growing up in Texas in the 1990s, the Cowboys were religion. After all, they won three Super Bowls in four seasons from 1992-1995. Though success in recent years has been a bit spottier, the team’s popularity is as high as ever, which was evident on my recent tour of the team’s stadium in Arlington, a suburb of Dallas, Texas.
AT&T Stadium, the official name of Cowboys Stadium, has all the grandeur you would expect from Texas. This mammoth space is way more than a football stadium, though. It’s an art gallery, an event space, a shopper’s delight, and, of course, a football lover’s paradise. A visit here is one of the most unique things to do on a visit to Dallas .
The first thing you see when you enter the building for the a stadium tour is the gift shop. Larger than some department stores, the two-floor shop offers pretty much everything you could imagine in the way of team merchandise, and much of it is customized on-site. The tributes to the Cowboys’ greats begin here, too, with photos of former coaches and players who are instantly recognizable to football fans.
The tour wastes no time in making an impression. Within just a few minutes in the largest domed stadium in the world, the field sprawls out before you, the Cowboys’ iconic blue and white star in the middle. Surrounded by 80,000 seats, you understand the meaning of “everything is bigger in Texas.” If you visit on a day the field is open to visitors, you can even throw the football around a little.
Leaving the field, you are enveloped by the maze of tunnels that runs through AT&T Stadium. There are passages where buses and cars can drive into the building, carrying players and other VIPs. There are enormous storage and staging areas for the equipment used for the events that happen nearly every day at the stadium. At times, it feels like an underground city as carts, supplies, and some of the stadium’s 7000 employees go past (of course there aren’t so many on non-game days).
Along the sides of the corridors, the tour stops in several other high-profile spaces. The players’ and cheerleaders’ locker rooms are big draws for fans wanting to get close to where their Cowboys idols spend time during the football season. (The rooms are the same, but the cheerleaders have mirrors.)
You also have a chance to walk through the ultra-exclusive Miller Lite Field Club, where the players enter the field. Nearby, you can step up on the podium where the players hold each of their post-game press conferences when they’re at home.
Above ground, the stadium features 58 works of art, 16 of which were commissioned especially for the stadium. You’ll pass a number of them on your walk, but there are also special tours available and an app to access more information about the pieces.
Tips for taking an AT&T Stadium Tour
- VIP tours are available, along with self-guided tours, and tours focused on the art of the stadium. The self-guided visit sticks primarily to the field and locker room, so you miss out on the owners’ suites, press room, and more.
- Availability is dependent upon events (and games, of course) at the stadium, so check carefully to ensure that the tour you want is available when you plan to visit. This is especially important if you want to visit the field, which is not open every day.
- If a photo on the field is a top priority, bring a football with you or buy one in the gift shop.
- Plan to buy tickets ahead of time as they do sell out, even at times you may not expect.
We were the guests of the Dallas Cowboys for our AT&T Stadium tour. As always, opinions of the enormous and sporty are our own.

We're not really football fans, but this seems like an amazing experience! Thanks for sharing. :)

Life-long Giants fan here and I gotta say, this place and the old Boston Garden are the 2 spots I'd love to visit, more than any. Amazing facility from your recount and oh yes, I know all about the God quote ;) My best friend grew up a Boys fan in NJ, and heck, whenever they come to town half the stadium roots for them. Truly America's team!

Call Netflix’s Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Docuseries What It Is: ‘Cheer’ Season 3

Greg Whiteley has a new sports docuseries at Netflix that really isn’t new at all. The seven-episode (at 45-minutes apiece) “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders” will premiere this summer on Netflix. The streamer first announced the series on Thursday, when it also put out a teaser (below).
Fans of “Cheer” have been not-so-patiently waiting for a third season , so… isn’t this just that? Why not call “America’s Sweethearts” what it really is: “ Cheer ” Season 3. That’s what we want. Related Stories The 20 Best Comic Book TV Shows of All Time, Ranked 2024 Emmy Predictions: Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series
There’s plenty of precedent here. While “Cheer” Seasons 1 and 2 focused on competitive collegiate cheerleading (mostly) at Navarro College (also in Texas!), Whiteley’s precursor “Last Chance U” not only changed schools — it changed sports . Originally a junior-college football docuseries , “Last Chance U” converted to a junior-college basketball docuseries for Seasons 4 and 5. Why not just graduate “Cheer” to follow a professional football cheerleading squad this season?
It is possible the Dallas Cowboys — referred to as “America’s Team” and an absolute TV ratings juggernaut for the NFL and its broadcast partners — and their very famous cheerleading squad is being viewed as the stronger branding for such a program. Starting from scratch, that would be accurate. But Whiteley is not starting from scratch: he’s midway through a killer mat routine.
“Cheer” has an existing fanbase of Netflix subscribers and the brand is far more culturally relevant (and certainly of higher quality) than that other Cowboys cheerleader reality show, the long-running “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team.” After 16 seasons, “Making the Team” on CMT ended, opening the locker room door for Whiteley and Netflix. Upgrade!
IndieWire asked Netflix reps if “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders” was considered at any point for a third season of “Cheer.” We only kind of got an answer.
We also inquired about the futures of “Cheer” and “Last Chance U,” but did not receive a response on that. Not encouraging.
Maybe it is time to move on. There is a black mark associated with the “Cheer” show, and it is as bad as it gets — but it has nothing to do with Whiteley or Netflix. Jerry Harris, the breakout stunter from “Cheer’s” first season, was arrested on child pornography charges in 2020, between Seasons 1 and 2. Harris achieved crossover fame after the first season, and was in much of the second season. Whiteley explained his hard choice to IndieWire in January 2022, which is when “Cheer” Season 2 premiered.
Season 2 indeed acknowledges Harris’ arrest up front and devotes most of its fifth episode to the developing legal situation. The episode includes interviews with the journalists who broke the story of the (then) allegations against Harris and with the parents of twin boys who were (at the time of the taping, alleged) victims in Harris’ crimes.
In June 2022, five months after the second season of “Cheer” launched on Netflix, Harris pled guilty to federal charges related to soliciting child sexual abuse imagery and illegal sexual conduct with a minor. He is serving 12 years in a federal prison in Oklahoma City.
So, for now at least, no “Cheer” Season 3. Instead, it is “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders,” which follows the 2023-24 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad beginning with auditions and training camp and ending when the Cowboys season predictably (sorry, I’m a Giants fan) ended in the NFC Wild Card Round.
Netflix says “America’s Sweethearts” will provide “unfiltered access into this iconic team and franchise.” The program will “document the personal stories behind the uniforms — revealing the drive, hustle, and drama among the cheerleaders and coaches.”
“The kind of access and creative freedom we need to make the kind of work we want to make is not easy to come by—especially when dealing with a brand as large as the Dallas Cowboys,” Whiteley said in a statement provided to media.
There’s that “brand” thing.
“To their infinite credit, the Cowboys offered unfettered access for the year we filmed the DCC and left us alone,” Whiteley continued. “The result is an authentic portrait of one of the most storied and beloved institutions we have in American pop culture.”
“America’s Sweethearts” hails from One Potato Productions and Boardwalk Pictures, in association with Campfire Studios. Whiteley executive produces alongside Adam Leibowitz of One Potato Productions, Andrew Fried and Dane Lillegard of Boardwalk Pictures, and Ross M. Dinerstein and Rebecca Evans of Campfire Studios.

The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders once again will be the subject of an unscripted series — this time at Netflix .
The streamer says its show, titled America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders , will premiere in the summer and counts Cheer and Last Chance U’ s Greg Whiteley among its executive producers (he also directs). The Netflix series will debut some two-and-a-half years after the long-running Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team ended after 16 seasons on CMT.

Which is not to say the Cowboys were shut out of the process entirely. “We’re thrilled to see the results of a season spent with Greg Whiteley and a remarkable crew following every step of the way. The storytelling through this open access will captivate viewers episode after episode and Netflix’s global stage is the perfect platform to showcase it,” said Charlotte Jones, executive vp and chief brand officer for the Cowboys and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders president (and daughter of team owner Jerry Jones). “We went into this understanding that the opportunity to transparently share the journey of our season, and the emotions, challenges and joy experienced along the way, is exactly what our fans and viewers would want.”

America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders coming to Netflix this summer: Here's what we know so far
T he Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are on the move to Netflix after a 16-season run on the Paramount-owned cable network CMT. Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader director Kelli Finglass is heavily involved in the Netflix series just like she was in the long-running CMT series that ran from 2006 to 2022.
But the Netflix show won't be a new season of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team , it's instead being reworked into a new show titled America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders , and while it will have a similar format to the previous series, it features an entirely new production team.
America's Sweethearts is from Emmy Award-winning director Greg Whiteley and the team behind Last Chance U and Cheer , another successful Netflix docuseries about cheerleading. One Potato Productions and Boardwalk Pictures will produce with Whiteley.
Season 1 of the upcoming series will feature seven episodes , each one approximately 45 minutes long. It will follow the 2023-24 cheerleading squad from the audition room to training and all the way through the NFL season.
Here's the official Netflix logline :
"This series follows the 2023-24 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad from start to finish — kicking off at auditions and training camp and continuing all the way through the NFL season. From Emmy Award-winning director Greg Whiteley and the team behind Cheer and Last Chance U, the seven-episode series will give viewers unfiltered access into this iconic team and franchise. Led by longtime director Kelli Finglass, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders open their doors to document the personal stories behind the uniforms – revealing the drive, hustle, and drama among the cheerleaders and coaches. For many, it’s a dream to make the team - but that’s only just the beginning."
Started in 1961, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleading team has become a global institution with a legacy lasting over 60 years. When the team isn't performing at NFL games they perform globally on tours , including the USO Tours for American military.
Discussing America's Sweethearts, Whiteley praised the Cowboys for offering "unfettered access for the year we filmed the DCC and left us alone."
The result is an authentic portrait of one of the most storied and beloved institutions we have in American pop culture.Greg Whiteley
While Netflix hasn't released a teaser or trailer yet, they did share an announcement video that showcases some footage from the series as the girls prep for a show and one unseen voice notes how performing in front of a crowd is "almost euphoric."
Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President/Chief Brand Officer and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders President, Charlotte Jones, released the following statement about the Netflix series:
“We’re thrilled to see the results of a season spent with Greg Whiteley and a remarkable crew following every step of the way. The storytelling through this open access will captivate viewers episode after episode and Netflix’s global stage is the perfect platform to showcase it. We went into this understanding that the opportunity to transparently share the journey of our season, and the emotions, challenges and joy experienced along the way, is exactly what our fans and viewers would want. It’s also part of the reason that, for decades, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have earned their place as being ‘often imitated, but never equaled’.”
We don't have a release date for the series yet, but the official announcement video reveals that America's Sweethearts will debut this summer on Netflix. Stay tuned to Netflix Life for more details and information on the upcoming series.
