Daniel Caesar announces Australian dates for his 'Superpowers World Tour'

“One of the greatest songwriters of our time”  – NPR

“Daniel Caesar remains an enigmatic character, consumed with wanderlust.”  – Rolling Stone

“It’s his comfort with vulnerability that makes Caesar’s introspective take on music feel like a deep sigh of relief, each sonic exhalation breathing new life into the R&B space”  – Billboard

“As a singer-songwriter, Daniel Caesar’s style is honest, vivid, curious, and evocative.”  – Complex

(MELBOURNE, AU) OCT 11, 2023 : Today, multi-platinum, GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer DANIEL CAESAR announces the third leg of his ‘Superpowers World Tour’, expanding to Australia.

Tickets go on sale at 10am Friday 13 October at livenation.com.au and danielcaesar.com

My Live Nation members can access the exclusive presale beginning 10am Thursday 12 October

The first two legs of the sold-out North American tour offered a unique look at Daniel’s artistry and singular vision. For the first few songs of each show, he performs behind a sheer white curtain, adding a celestial quality to the performance. As a seasoned multi-instrumentalist, he takes full command of the stage, offering the tens of thousands of attendees piano ballads and guitar solos with a stripped-down quality, yet almost otherworldly precision. The set design displays raw camera footage of fans singing along and his band entering and exiting the stage at each show. During his sets of multi-million streamed songs, genuine fan engagement is at the forefront of the experience.

His ability to effortlessly switch between genres, from the sultry R&B of “Get You” to the gospel-infused “Blessed,” is remarkable and puts his versatility on full display. Each track is delivered with a level of authenticity, and the chemistry between Daniel Caesar and his three-piece band is undeniable.

The tour follows on the heels of his highest-charting album to date, NEVER ENOUGH , which debuted at #2 on Billboard Top R&B Albums Chart and Top 15 on Billboard 200 Chart upon release and maintained his status as one of Spotify’s top 200 streamed artists worldwide. Album highlights include “Always,” which continues to dominate Billboard Hot R&B and Adult R&B Airplay charts. NEVER ENOUGH is an examination of Daniel’s insatiable perfectionism and juxtaposes his self-scrutiny in relationships with his characteristically reassuring vocals. The project was recorded in part in Canada, New York, London, and Los Angeles, and the concept was largely conceived in France. He cites the hero’s journey in Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist as a major influence. NEVER ENOUGH was produced in part by Raphael Saadiq and Daniel’s brother Zachary Simmonds.

Daniel Caesar Announces 2023 Australian Headline Tour

By W. Mackellar

Canadian artist Daniel Caesar will head to Australia later this year for a quick run of headline dates. The singer and songwriter will play three shows on the east coast in November and December, starting in Melbourne on Saturday, 25th November, and finishing with a set at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Friday, 1st December.

Caesar will be here supporting his third studio album Never Enough, which arrived in April 2023. The album, led by singles ‘Let Me Go’ and ‘Do You Like Me’, was pulled together in studios across the world, from Paris and Majorca to London, Copenhagen, and Stockholm.

Daniel Caesar: ‘Let Me Go’

Never Enough also marked Caesar’s major label debut, having signed to Republic Records in 2021. Prior to this, he released music through Golden Child Recordings, a label he founded with a group of friends in Toronto.

“I was finding it hard at Golden Child to be a record exec and an artist at the same time,” Caesar told Billboard about the shift. “This was something I needed to do for myself for my development. I was like, ‘If I don’t do it, it’s because I’m scared.’ And I hate living in fear.”

Since the release of Never Enough, Caesar has been on a sold-out run of tour dates across North America.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews  here .

Caesar’s ‘Superpowers World Tour’ has already seen remarkable success during its North American legs, with sold-out shows attesting to the artist’s extraordinary vision. For a unique touch, the opening moments of each concert feature Caesar performing behind a sheer white curtain, adding a celestial dimension to the performance. A seasoned multi-instrumentalist, he commands the stage with remarkable precision, delivering piano ballads and guitar solos that are both stripped-down and otherworldly. The stage design incorporates raw camera footage of fans singing along and the band’s entrances and exits, providing an intimate glimpse of the behind-the-scenes magic.

Genuine fan engagement takes center stage during Caesar’s performances of his multi-million streamed hits, creating an unforgettable live experience. His extraordinary ability to effortlessly switch between genres, from sultry R&B to gospel-infused tracks, showcases his unparalleled versatility. Each note is delivered with a level of authenticity that highlights the undeniable chemistry between Daniel Caesar and his three-piece band.

The ‘Superpowers World Tour’ follows the success of Caesar’s highest-charting album to date, ‘NEVER ENOUGH’. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums Chart and Top 15 on the Billboard 200 Chart, solidifying his status as one of Spotify’s top 200 streamed artists worldwide. Standout tracks like “Always” continue to dominate the Billboard Hot R&B and Adult R&B Airplay charts.

‘NEVER ENOUGH’ is a deep dive into Daniel’s insatiable perfectionism, juxtaposing self-scrutiny in relationships with his characteristically reassuring vocals. The project was a global effort, recorded in Canada, New York, London, Los Angeles, and conceived in France. Caesar credits Paulo Coelho’s ‘The Alchemist’ and the hero’s journey as major influences. The album was produced in part by Raphael Saadiq and Daniel’s brother, Zachary Simmonds.

Daniel Caesar, a multi-platinum GRAMMY Award-winning artist, has carved his name across contemporary R&B, soul, rock, alternative, and pop. His 2017 debut, ‘Freudian’, was a breakthrough, highlighted by the 5x-platinum “Best Part” and 3x-platinum “Get You.” Daniel’s mastery earned him a GRAMMY Award for “Best R&B Performance.” In 2019, ‘CASE STUDY 01’, featuring John Mayer, Brandy, and Pharrell Williams, debuted at number 17 on the Billboard Top 200. He struck gold with Justin Bieber’s megahit “Peaches” in 2021, achieving his first Billboard Hot 100 number one.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023. Find out more here .
