Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure Menu

One of three main dining rooms located on Deck 5 AFT aboard the Disney Wish , Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure is Disney’s first “Frozen”-themed theatrical dining experience, bringing the kingdom of Arendelle to life through immersive live entertainment — featuring favorite characters like Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf — and world-class cuisine infused with Nordic influences.

Only on the Disney Wish will families be invited to attend a royal engagement party for Queen Anna and Kristoff, picking up the story where Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen 2” left off. Elsa and Olaf will host the celebration with catering provided by their friend Oaken’s “Hearty Party Planning Service… and Sauna” and live entertainment by “local” musicians who specialize in Nordic renditions of familiar “Frozen” songs. According to an audition casting notice, the dinner show will be called: An Enchanted Engagement .

Throughout the meal, guests will enjoy live musical performances by these beloved characters and will even get the opportunity to join the festivities with fun table crafts, hilarious sing-alongs and a grand finale that’ll have everyone in the audience on their feet.

Designed in the style of a theater-in-the-round, this purpose-built entertainment venue will feature dining tables situated around a small center stage and all the theatrical bells and whistles needed to bring a story to life in 360-degree glory. Invisible fiber optics embedded in the ceiling will conjure Elsa’s icy magic, and panoramic windows will magically transform from real-time ocean views to the colorful dancing lights of the Aurora Borealis.

Disney Cruise Line is developing brand-new looks for Anna and Kristoff, plus an all-new way to encounter Olaf through true-to-scale, cutting-edge puppetry that can talk and interact with families as they dine, lending his signature humor and charm to the merriment.

The one-of-a-kind menu for Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure combines traditional flavors and ingredients from the Nordic region with modern, family-friendly fare. Guests will delight in this scrumptious smorgasbord of superior seafoods, rustic game dishes and tasty nods to the “Frozen” story. And, last but not least, dessert! It wouldn’t be Queen Anna’s party without plenty of chocolate.

For the first time in forever, Disney brings a Frozen dinner show to sea — and we got a first look

Summer Hull

The idea of dinner and a show takes on a whole new meaning at Disney Wish's new "Frozen"-themed restaurant. Here, meal and entertainment merge into one 75-minute festive celebration straight out of Arendelle (the fictitious but decidedly Nordic town featured in the movie).

Disney Wish , the newest ship from Disney Cruise Line , has three all-new included "rotational dining" venues, one of which is Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure. On Disney cruises, every guest gets to enjoy each of the three rotational restaurants at no extra charge, so if you decide to sail on Wish, get ready to "let it go" the night you head to Arendelle.

Going into the much-anticipated meal on the first night of our media preview sailing of Wish, I knew the odds were high that Disney was going to put on a crowd-pleasing show. How could it not with all that blockbuster "Frozen" material to use?

What I didn't know was how ridiculously good the Nordic-inspired food would be on a Disney cruise. Here's my first impression of what it's like to dine at Arendelle on Disney Wish.

For more cruise news, guides and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure restaurant

Think of this dinner as an invitation to a lively party with a multi-course meal, live music and important guests of honor. Done Disney-style, that means the dinner party is set in a wing of an Arendelle castle and the guests of honor are animated characters come to life.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

At Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and Oaken take their places on stage in this theater-in-the-round dining concept and also stroll about the castle hall, er, dining room, interacting with guests at their party.

The main characters are too busy attending this party to be the only ones that belt out the "Frozen" songs kids (and parents) know all too well. Don't worry; you'll still hear your favorite numbers, many are just sung by additional cast members.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

The menu at Arendelle

Before the singing starts, you get to decide what's for dinner.

As with all of Disney Cruise Line's included restaurants, you can order as much or as little off the menu as you like at no additional charge.

The adult menu has a selection of bread, appetizers, salads, soups and entrees (including lighter options and vegetarian selections).

On the lighter and easier-to-hold kids menu, young party-goers can opt for thematic meals including baked salmon, a mini surf-and-turf of steak and grilled shrimp, or some carrot soup — for Sven the reindeer, of course. Kid favorites like corn dogs and cheeseburgers are also an option.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

The multi-grain rolls in the bread basket are perfectly fine, but they mainly serve as scoops for the delicious onion dip served with them. Tell any junior skeptics the combo is worth trying.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Among the appetizers, we loved Anna's Koldtbord. You can get right in the Nordic mood with this board of salmon, trout, shrimp and fantastic honey dill mustard. This starter was shockingly excellent.

Elsa's Royal Baked Scallops was a fun dish with a fluffy pastry on top; frankly, it could have satisfied as an entree. If you like seafood and Scandinavian-inspired dishes, you'll want to try multiple appetizers.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

For entrees, we sampled the seared salmon salad, with the beautiful soft egg perched on top. Because the appetizer was already a nice sampling of meat, I chose the vegetarian option, the potato lefse, which was loaded with veggies and felt just as on-theme as the salmon.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Rare is the day you can leave a Disney Cruise Line restaurant without at least tasting the dessert — and this meal was no exception.

A separate dessert menu is presented as the meal and show near their conclusion. We tasted the signature dessert, which is a chocolate cake with Troll rocks (aka pistachio cookie bits) and a hibiscus meringue. We also tried the apple cake with caramel sauce, vanilla bean ice cream and some almond crunch.

Not surprisingly, both disappeared even after all the other courses, a testament to their taste.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

The kids' dessert options (listed on the main kids menu) consist of ice cream or an Olaf S'mores Bar. We obviously chose the latter, which combined all the best components of a traditional s'more, plus Oreo cookies and an ice cream accompaniment, without all the work and mess of assembling your own treat.

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure entertainment

A lot goes on during Arendelle's dinner show, so don't come in expecting some light Disney touches in the background, the way you would at the adults-only Palo Steakhouse on Wish. Prepare to be bombarded with full-on Disney entertainment while you eat.

The primary performers for most of the evening are a man and woman who aren't in the films but who look like they would be friends with Anna and Elsa. The cast sang the heck out of everything from "Let It Go" to "All Is Found."

disney cruise frozen restaurant

You will find Oaken and Kristoff singing together in one of the show's many humorous moments.

With the exception of Olaf, who sits a little awkwardly on a cart, the "Frozen" characters look the most like the characters of any Disney renditions I've ever seen. From the costumes to the casting and mannerisms, they nailed bringing cartoons to life on a cruise ship.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Throughout the meal, the songs will serve as both background music and the center of your attention, ebbing and flowing with the meal itself. The entertainment will likely keep your kid's attention, but it may also be distracting to those who prefer a more calm environment for dining.

When you'll eat there

On Disney Cruise Line, you're assigned dinners on a rotational schedule. On the three- and four-night cruises that Disney Wish will be sailing from Port Canaveral, you'll get a chance to visit each of the three main restaurants -- Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, Worlds of Marvel and 1923 -- at least once.

The other guests and your serving team rotate through the restaurants with you. There's both an early and a late seating time, which you can select when you book your cruise. This means dinner starts at either 5:45 p.m. or 8:15 p.m. each evening.

How was Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure restaurant?

This was the first time on a Disney Cruise that I had to ask for things like water to be refilled. Pretty much the same thing happened to my coworker the following night.

I'll assume, though, that the serving team will get better with time. What is likely to hold true is that because there is a show going on, you are likely to get to know your servers a bit less here as compared to more traditional restaurants on other Disney ships, where you're better able to chat.

Also, at most Disney character dining restaurants in the theme parks , someone is keeping track of where the characters are going next, though it may seem random to you. In the event that a table was accidentally skipped, the mistake is almost always caught before too long by someone double-checking and the omission fixed.

At Arendelle, whether by accident or design (and I'll assume design based on time limitations), the characters don't seem to visit every table while milling about the restaurant. While they went to adjacent tables, no characters stopped by our table — and we had a 6-year-old who clearly was interested.

The next night, some of the characters came to my coworker's table, but not all of them.

This isn't exactly a character meal, so we didn't need a visit from each individual character. It would have been nice for each table to get some visits, but that does not seem to be the current structure. We hope that will evolve with time.

Finally, the built-up "Elsa's magic moment" either didn't work correctly or I missed something. Perhaps, as an adult, I simply expected more.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Elsa herself owned the moment, but other than perhaps the restaurant having a bluer hue when she was finished, I couldn't really tell what — if anything — happened. But maybe I was too involved with my dessert.

Final crumbs

If you like "Frozen," Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure was a very good time — with a pretty darn good meal to boot.

Having been to Scandinavia just a few months ago, I don't hesitate to say that this salmon and accompaniments were at least as good as much of what we had there. Honestly, I enjoyed it more. I'm willing to blame my uncouth Texan tastebuds for liking a Disney version better than the real thing, but the meal was unquestionably good. If that type of food isn't your favorite, you'll still have some options here, just fewer of them.

You also need to, at least temporarily, say goodbye to Disney cruise meals of the past to embrace this one. You likely won't have as much interaction with your servers as at other restaurants. And this isn't the kind of meal where the kids are going to head to the kids club as soon as they are finished eating, leaving you to sip your red wine in peace.

Instead, this is a party from start to finish, with just a few brief pauses between the action to get the courses up and running.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Arendelle also isn't like character dining meals you may have enjoyed at Disney World where you know you'll get your turn to ask each character how Sven the reindeer is doing.

This Frozen-themed dinner show is classically Disney but in a whole new way. Where else could you attend the engagement party of Anna and Kristoff within the Arendelle castle ... while sailing on the open ocean?

disney cruise frozen restaurant

So Many Details Everywhere!

Now that we’ve gone over the general atmosphere, let’s talk about the BIG star of the experience here — the entertainment!

Entertainment

There is no shortage of entertainment at Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

So Much Fun!

Anna and Kristoff made their way around the tables, sporting some special party looks. They chatted with us about Anna’s engagement ring (we got to see it in person!), what Sven was up to (cooking some carrot dishes, of course), and what they did to get ready for the party. They even thanked us for coming!

During the meal, you’ll also see a fun version of Olaf . He’s sitting on top of a special stand that can be rolled around, and functions sort-of like a puppet.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

During your meal, there are several musical performances. You can enjoy being serenaded by Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf…

disney cruise frozen restaurant

The Whole Gang is Here!

… and even “local” musicians who “specialize in Nordic renditions of familiar Frozen songs.”

disney cruise frozen restaurant

They’ll Lead You Through Some More Songs!

During our dinner, we heard a bunch of the songs many fans surely love from Frozen I and Frozen II.  There was a rather hilarious “Let it Go” sing-a-long with Kristoff and Oaken. It even included Oaken showering Kristoff with confetti at one point — pretty amazing! 😆

disney cruise frozen restaurant

We also heard them sing Love is an Open Door, sans the evil Hans! Kristoff even pointed out how awkward this was by telling Anna at one point that this wasn’t their song. 😂 We loved those meta moments!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

The Sisters Singing

We also got to hear the entire gang sing Some Things Never Change  from Frozen II , hear them talk about the engagement party, and more!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

So Much to See

In between bigger songs, there were all kinds of things to look at — like when Oaken has to come out to sweep the confetti from the floor using a hilariously small broom and dust pan!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Although the show was supposed to involve some special effects (like fiber optics for the ice) and panoramic windows showing the Northern Lights, we didn’t really see that during our dining experience. There was a moment when Elsa was “making magic” in the show, but nothing happened.

There were also supposed to be table crafts, but we didn’t see that during our visit, nor did we see a grand finale that brought the audience to its feet. Since this is the first sailing, it’s possible that Disney is still figuring out some technical aspects of the show.

Alright, now let’s move onto the menu!

The menu at this spot features Nordic-influenced cuisine and combinations of traditional Nordic flavors along with more modern dishes .

disney cruise frozen restaurant

You can choose from seafood, rustic game dishes, and dishes that serve as a nod to the  Frozen  movies.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

There’s a variety of appetizers including one with a sampling of fish, scallops, a ham tart, and more.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

You’ll also find salads and soups.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

There are a number of entrees to pick from, including the pork tenderloin, sea bass, and more.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

There are also some vegetarian dishes…

disney cruise frozen restaurant

…and “lighter” options.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Queen Anna would not allow dessert to be skipped (of course!), so there are a few different sweet treats to try, including a chocolate bar!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

You’ll also find a no sugar added dessert and ice cream sundae.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

There are also kids menu options including soup, salad, entrees…

…Disney Check Meals, and desserts!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

You’ll also find a drink menu with some alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Now it’s finally time to eat!

We started our meal with the bread service which is Six-Grain Viking Loaf served with a roasted onion dip.  Like the bread at the other rotational dining locations, we found it kind of hard and chewy. It didn’t really taste very fresh.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

For our appetizer, we grabbed the Jarlsberg Cheese and Rosemary Ham Tart , which features Gala Apple, and Williams Pear Compote.  This is basically a quiche, but we found it to be a bit bland.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

We also tried Blushing Oaken’s Chilled White and Green Asparagus . This is served with pea tendrils, heirloom tomatoes, radish, and dill.  Although these might seem like boring vegetables, these were VERY well-cooked and tasty. This is a light and fresh appetizer that won’t fill you up so you have plenty of room for your entree and dessert — because, PRIORITIES!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Next was Elsa’s Royal Baked Scallops, featuring a shrimp tarragon bisque, rainbow carrots, leeks, and a flaky pastry.  The scallops were nice and buttery, and the pastry was super light and fluffy. This is an appetizer we would get again!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Baked Scallops

And since Sven’s favorite food is carrots, we couldn’t help ourselves, and we grabbed Sven’s Favorite Carrot Soup, featuring caraway and rye sippits.  This soup could’ve used a bit more…something — we found it to be bland.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

While we didn’t get to eat it, we did get a peek at Anna’s Koldtbord . This comes with “hot” smoked salmon, smoked Fjord trout horseradish lefse, salmon gravalax, sweet shrimp, dill honey mustard, and crisp Knackerbrot.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Anna’s Koldtbord

For our entrees, we tried the Garlic & Thyme Roasted Beef Rib-Eye which comes with double-baked potato, buttered broccoli, sweet honey-roasted carrots, and cabernet jus.  This was very tasty, but one thing we noticed during our meal — a lot of the meat we received was relatively cold by the time we got it.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

We also got to grab the Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass which is served with white asparagus, petite leeks, savoy spinach, Romanesco, peas, kohlrabi, rainbow carrots, seared scallop, pea tendrils, and Mjod vinaigrette.

This was one of our top five things we ate during our time on the Wish! It was light and flaky with loads of flavor (and not too fishy). We also liked the bonus scallop on the side. We have generally loved Sea Bass dishes on ALL of our Disney cruises, and this one was a win for us, too.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass

But wait, we’re not done eating yet! We also chowed down on the Juniper Spiced Roasted Chicken Breast, served with scallions, duck confit double-fried potatoes, and Estragon wild mushroom ragout.

This tasted like a basic rotisserie chicken and wasn’t really anything too unique, save for the juniper. We’re also not a big fan of the junpier seasoning, although it does fit into the Scandinavian theme with the food here. But we thought it gave the dish a sort of pine tree flavor to us. Maybe it’s an acquired taste.

Next we tried the King Agnarr’s Dry-rubbed Roasted Pork Tenderloin . This features buttered chard, honey butternut squash, Yukon gold potato puree, crisp shallots, and a red currant port wine reduction.  This was one of the better entrees.

One member of our team thought the sauce was spicy, while another didn’t. But it was a good savory dish (although the pork was slightly overdone, but that seems to be something we’ve seen in all the rotational dining restaurants).

King Agnarr’s Dry-rubbed Roasted Pork Tenderloin

While we didn’t eat it, we also got the chance to get a peek at the Queen Iduna’s Potato Lefse , made with a Marjoram butter crust, heirloom carrots, spinach, celeriac, green and white asparagus, baby Brussels sprouts, leeks, and aquavit Jarlsberg cream. This is a vegetarian dish.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Queen Iduna’s Potato Lefse

We also got a peek at the Arendelle Kjottkake which is braised meatballs with a rosemary cream reduction, egg noodles, and lingonberry chutney.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Arendelle Kjottkake

While we didn’t eat it, we did get to check out the no sugar added Citrus-Almond Cake. This is made of a lemon almond cake, buttermilk ice cream, and orange fennel salad.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Citrus-Almond Cake

Another one we didn’t get to personally try, but we did get to see is the “signature dessert” — the Troll Family’s Rock Chocolate Bar. This is made with a chocolate cake, pistachio cookie rocks, and hibiscus meringue.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Troll Family’s Rock Chocolate Bar

But we did to to try out the Eplekake, Apple Cake , with Caramel Sauce, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, and Florentine Almond Crunch.

This was like a warm bread pudding with apple. The caramel sauce was nice and melty (who doesn’t like melty caramel?). The vanilla bean ice cream melting on top just made put this dessert over the top for us. The almond crunch isn’t anything exciting and we didn’t think this dessert was THAT more unique than anything you can find in Disney World.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Apple Cake!

Then we nommed on the Kvafjordkake, which is a Butter Cake with  Baked Almond Meringue, Vanilla Cream, and Berry Compote . So this was not what we think of when we think of butter cake — it was WAY too light. It tasted more like a heavy sponge cake with a sort of whipped custard between the layers. Of all the desserts, this was our least favorite.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Butter Cake

Finally, we dug into “It’s Elsa’s Coronation Sundae!”, made with Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Marshmallows, fresh Whipped Cream, and Snowflakes. It’s a sundae, so there’s nothing unique about it, but if you like Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, this is sure to please. But be warned: we thought the snowflake would be white chocolate, but it was like a plasticky candy.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Now it’s time to check out the drinks!

For our drink, we grabbed the  Frozen Fractals , which is made with  Ciroc, Peach, and Moet & Chandon Ice . Although it was tasty, it wasn’t TOO exciting. It was more of a sweet drink, although you could taste the liquor. This is one of those drinks that would probably appeal to a lot of people — and really, you’re really getting it for the glitter in the drink!

Tip: if the glitter settles, stir it up to make it pretty again!

Nosh or Not

You’ll LOVE Arendelle if:

  • You’re looking for dinner AND a show — There’s a lot of entertainment here — whether it comes in the form of a sing-a-long, meets with Anna and Kristoff as they walk around the room, and more. If you’re all about being entertained while you eat your food, this is the place to go!
  • You’re obsessed with Frozen — This is an easy one. If you’re a  Frozen fan, this is a place you can’t miss during your cruise on the Wish. It’s full of details, easter eggs, and references to the movie. You could spend hours in here and probably not find all of the hidden details. It’s a true scavenger hunt for the  Frozen obsessed!
  • You’re looking for “safe” food options with some more unique flavor twists — While there are some more standard offerings (like a chicken and a steak dish) some of these dishes do feature more unique flavors or come with a bit of a unique twist. With things like lingonberry chutney, dill honey mustard, and Mjod Vinaigrette, you’ll get to expand your palette without being too adventurous.

Arendelle might not be your favorite dining experience on the Wish if:

  • You’re looking for a quiet escape — This experience is pretty lively, particularly if you’re seated near the stage. If you’re looking for a quiet dinner to just wind down after a busy day on the ship, this might not be for you.
  • You want a more “adult” or sophisticated atmosphere — The atmosphere here isn’t exactly super casual. It is an engagement party, after all! So there is a sense of things being a bit more fancy or party-like. But belting out “Let it Go” with your fellow diners isn’t exactly the peak of sophisticated dining. 😂 If it’s a super fancy, more “adult” meal you’re after, a place like Enchante may be more your style.
  • You’re looking for super basic eats — While there are plenty of safe options on the menu, there are some more unique offerings. If you just want to stick to fries and a cheeseburger, then you may not fully enjoy the more specialty menu offerings here.

Overall, we loved the show aspect of Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure — it was a lot of fun! We loved how it started right at the beginning of the meal. There were plenty of surprises during the entertainment (no spoilers!) that made us smile several times. However, some of the random characters sang Elsa and Anna’s songs, and we’re not sure why that was a thing?

However, the food was hit or miss. There were some things we really liked, but some things that needed more flavor. This seems to be a theme with the rotational dining restaurants, though, so it is to be expected.

So that’s what you could expect to experience at Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure on the Disney Wish! Keep following DFB for all your Disney Wish news and updates!

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure: Photos and Full Menu

by Natasha Szostak | Jul 10, 2022 | Disney Cruise Line , Disney Cruise Line Food , Disney Cruise Line News , Disney Wish

For the first time in, well, EVER … there’s a Frozen -themed dinner show at sea. Here’s why Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure was our team’s favorite meal on the Disney Wish.

Our team was cordially invited to this royal engagement party as part of a recent Disney Wish media preview .

Is this a celebration worth melting for? What’s on the menu? And who really stole the show? Keep reading to find out.

⚠️ SPOILER ALERT: Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure includes plot details from Frozen II. Continue reading at your own risk!

A Frozen -Themed Theatrical Dining Experience

Picking up right where Frozen II left off , Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure invites you to celebrate the engagement of Queen Anna and Kristoff.

Putting together a royal gala is no easy task. Luckily, the happy couple knew the perfect person to get the job done. Hoo-hoo! Can you guess who they hired?

That’s right! The Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna’s humble shopkeeper, Oaken, has a new business venture. Since the events of Frozen II , he’s expanded his trading post and is now the proud owner of “Oaken’s Hearty Party Planning Service … and Sauna.” And according to our team, he stole the show!

During the course of your enchanted evening, you’ll be treated to live performances of Frozen hits by local Arendelle musicians. If you’ve ever wanted to hear Oaken and Kristoff duet on “Let It Go,” … this dinner party can’t be missed!

❄️ WDW Magazine Review: “We were treated to the best rendition of ‘Let It Go’ I’ve ever seen,” says our Communications Director, Tatjana.

The final performance of the night is a true spectacle. Elsa takes to the stage to light up the dining room with her icy magic.

Character Dining At Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure

Want to mingle with your favorite Frozen characters? Olaf and Oaken will stop in the aisles in between performances to chat with guests and each other.

Kristoff and Anna may also stop by your table. Anna will happily show off her engagement ring if you ask to see it!

❄️ WDW Magazine Review: Due to the theatrical nature of the dining experience, the night unfolds on a strict schedule. As Tatjana notes, “You’re not guaranteed to talk to all the characters. You might get to, but they need to keep the show moving so you may not.”

The Atmosphere of Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure

As soon as you step inside Arendelle on the Disney Wish, you’ll see that the Main Dining Room has undergone a royal transformation. There are even gold bust sculptures of Anna and Elsa as you walk in.

Dining tables are situated around a center stage where the evening’s entertainment will take place. The setup hit our CEO, Stephanie, right “in the feels.”

❄️ WDW Magazine Review: “As a theatre kid, I loved the in-the-round performance space and the great cast energy,” says Stephanie.

Guest can’t pick their seats, so you may end up with an obstructed view of the stage (like our team did) if you’re not sitting right next to it. Luckily, the characters do stroll through the aisles at various points in the evening so there are still opportunities to get a closer look at them.

The ceiling uses invisible fiber optics technology to create Elsa’s magic. Meanwhile, the real-time ocean views on the panoramic windows are replaced with the colorful lights of the Aurora Borealis.

While attending a Disney media event last year, Stephanie noted that the table settings at Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure were “by far the most intricate of the three main dining experiences on the Disney Wish.” The edges of the plates feature hidden character silhouettes and the napkins are embroidered with Anna’s signature crocus.

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure Main Menu

Catering for the engagement party is, of course, provided by Oaken’s “Hearty Party Planning Service.” The menu is influenced by Nordic cuisine and the Frozen story. It’s the type of hearty, home cooking that reminded Stephanie of the foods her Finnish nana would make for her when she was a child.

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure Review

All of your favorite Frozen characters appear at Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure on the Disney Wish. But who would’ve thought a humble shopkeeper would steal the show?

While our team was disappointed by their obstructed view of the stage, they still had an incredible time thanks to the characters wandering the aisles.

The Norwegian-inspired menu has plenty of hearty options. For smaller appetites, the Olaf’s Campfire S’mores Bar on the kid’s menu is a fantastic (and tasty) dessert option.

As this was a media preview, Tatjana wondered if what our team saw was a scaled-back version of the full show. She thinks there may be more lights and even snow added in for future sailings, but that’s unconfirmed at the time of writing.

FULL Review of Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure on the Disney Wish Cruise Ship!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

The AllEars team has just returned from the Christening Cruise of the Disney Wish!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

We have already shared lots of details about what to expect on Disney’s newest cruise ship and what you’ll be able to find onboard, like the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique , as well as entertainment offerings onboard the ship like  The Little Mermaid  stage show ! We also got to experience some incred ibly unique dining experiences on the cruise ship — one themed after Marvel, and one themed after Frozen. Now, we’re heading to Arendelle: A  Frozen Dining Adventure to bring you our thoughts on the experience!

Location, Hours, and Reservations

Arendelle: A  Frozen Dining Adventure is one of three rotational dining experiences aboard the Disney Wish. This means that you and your personal wait staff will rotate between the three restaurants during your cruise.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

There are two seatings for dinner each night, one at 5:45PM (known as the main seating) and one at 8:15PM (known as the Second Seating).

disney cruise frozen restaurant

You can choose your seating time when you book your cruise and all of your seating information including the time, restaurant schedule, and table number are available in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.

Atmosphere & Decor

This dining experience is a celebration of the engagement of Kristoff and Queen Anna. The dinner show picks up right after the end of  Frozen 2.  It is catered by Wandering Oaken’s Hearty Party Planning Service…and Sauna and includes live entertainment and performances of songs from the movies.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

The restaurant is situated with a stage in the middle of the room and dining tables surrounding it so everyone gets a good view.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

There are invisible fiber-optics embedded in the ceiling to help bring the show to life and the windows surrounding the restaurant morph from views of the ocean in real-time to shots of the Northern Lights.

The menu is comprised of Norwegian-inspired options with seafood, game, and other Nordic foods available to try. Appetizers we tried included this Blushing Oaken White and Green Asparagus with pea tendrils, heirloom tomatoes, radishes, and dill.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

And the Jarlsburg Cheese and Rosemary Ham Tart with Gala Apple and Williams Pear Compote.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

We also went for Elsa’s Royal Baked Scallops,  featuring a shrimp tarragon bisque, rainbow carrots, leeks, and a flaky pastry.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

And we had to taste Sven’s Favorite Carrot Soup !

disney cruise frozen restaurant

Moving on to main dishes, we ordered the Garlic & Thyme Roasted Beef Rib-Eye, which comes with double-baked potato, buttered broccoli, sweet honey-roasted carrots, and cabernet jus.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

And we ordered the Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass  which is served with white asparagus, petite leeks, savoy spinach, Romanesco, peas, kohlrabi, rainbow carrots, seared scallop, pea tendrils, and Mjod vinaigrette. Our team highly recommends this entree!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

We also tried the Juniper Spiced Roasted Chicken Breast, served with scallions, duck confit double-fried potatoes, and Estragon wild mushroom ragout. This had a “pine-scented air freshener” taste we did not enjoy — might be an acquired taste?

disney cruise frozen restaurant

This King Agnarr’s Dry-rubbed Roasted Pork Tenderloin was divisive — one of our team members thought is was spicy, while another did not at all. If you are sensitive to hot foods, you may want to skip it, but otherwise we enjoyed!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

On to what many think is the best part — dessert!

disney cruise frozen restaurant

We ordered the Kvaefjordkake, which is a butter cake with baked almond  meringue, vanilla cream, and berry compote.

disney cruise frozen restaurant

And the Eplekake — apple cake with caramel sauce, vanilla bean ice cream, and Florentine almond crunch.

We loved the way the dining room was arranged in the round — everyone has a great seat for the entertainment. We found a few things — namely the carrot soup and the ham tart — to be a bit bland, but overall we enjoyed our dishes. We did find most of the meat served at a cooler temperature than we would prefer — this is not an uncommon occurrence in a cruise dining room environment.

Arendelle has flavors that some guests may find unfamiliar — we encourage you to branch out and try what sounds good! Do know that if you’re not feeling adventurous, you will find more traditional dishes — like a Sirloin Steak and baked potato, or Baked Salmon — on the “Lighter Side” menu.

We’ll be bringing you more details from the Disney Wish, so make sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!

What is the 'Frozen'-themed dining aboard the Disney Wish like? As a mom who listened to 'Let it Go' on repeat, here's why the experience made me cry

When Frozen was released in 2013, my daughter was 3 and my son 5. Like all mothers in the early 2010s, my days were spent either watching the film on DVD, listening to the soundtrack in my minivan or humoring my preschool-aged daughter as she twirled in Elsa dress-up clothes, belting out "Let it Go."

Those days are gone — my now 12-year-old daughter trading poofy blue dresses for strappy numbers from the juniors section — and I'm OK with that. Which is why the number of times I cried during the Frozen -themed dining experience aboard Disney Cruise Line's (DCL) newest ship, the Disney Wish, surprised me.

Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure is one of three "rotational dining" options aboard the Disney Wish, meaning the experience is included with the price of your cruise and will be scheduled on at least one evening of your sailing. It's the first theater in the round-style dinner show for DCL — with tables situated around the stage for maximum viewing — and it's a brand new story in the Frozen -verse.

At the end of 2019's Frozen 2 , Anna and Kristoff become engaged. This dinner show picks up with the couple's engagement party, thrown by Elsa, loveable snowman Olaf and Oaken — the owner of Wandering Oaken's Trading Post and Sauna and businessman extraordinaire — who has just opened a party-planning business.

Denise Case, director of entertainment and creative for DCL, says everything about the dining experience was designed to fit the overall theme of the Disney Wish: enchantment.

"We all came up with this really fun concept about this engagement party," Case shared in a media panel about the making of the ship. "In the space, we were able to implement a lot of special effects, like theatrical lighting ... it's a great example of how we took storytelling to another level and perpetuated the story."

There's also an animatronic snowman, who gets pushed on stage — and throughout the restaurant — on a serving cart. "Olaf is really engaging and fantastic," said Case. "He's so good. Do you want to build a snowman? Heck yeah, we love that snowman."

And we did love that snowman, as well as the tiny Frozen touches throughout the restaurant. There was the painting of Joan of Arc, which Anna famously tells to, "Hang in there, Joan," in the first film. The grandfather clock that Anna props her feet on while imitating ticking sounds is there, and the children's menus are Arendelle flags that kids can later wave in a conga-style parade around the room.

Between Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Oaken's interactions with guests from the stage (and tableside), the musical group Oaken "hired to entertain during the party" sang all the hits from Frozen and Frozen 2. Between dishes like Sven's Favorite Carrot Soup and Arendelle Kjottkake — a traditional Norwegian meatball dish that's similar to IKEA Swedish meatballs, but so much better — my husband, teen, tween and I took a trip down memory lane.

It was beautiful and bittersweet watching smaller children dance and sing wearing Anna and Elsa-style gowns. It didn't seem like that long ago that my little girl, who celebrated her 12th birthday aboard the Wish, was doing the same. And when the performers sang Some Things Never Change , Olaf's, "and you all look a little bit older," line got me. I turned to my tween, a bit choked up, and said, "I remember how much you loved these movies."

"I still do," she said, joining me in singing along and pointing out little nods to the franchise throughout the dining room. She even laid down on the floor at the base of the grandfather clock, making Anna's "tick-tock" sounds and posing for a photo. (A tween parenting win in my book.)

Of all the delicious dining options aboard the ship, our visit to Arendelle felt the most special. For a few teary-eyed minutes, I got my little Disney Princess-loving girl back and that's something you can't put a price tag on.

And that's DCL's goal in the Disney Wish. Claire Weiss, a creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering said, in the same panel, that the Wish, which Imagineers call Disney's "castle at sea," was designed to evoke feelings of "stepping into a dream world."

"The core theme [of the ship] is really distilled down to an emotion: It's this dream feeling," she says. "[In the Wish's restaurants] we weave in the food and the music to give you that same core feeling, but a completely different experience."

Olaf may be right — we all do look a little bit older since we first met him in 2013, but seeing the Frozen franchise grow right along with my kids is a magical thing to this mom.

Disney Wish Arendelle

As we continue our coverage aboard the christening cruise of the Disney Wish, I am beyond excited to share with you one of the spaces I am most excited about – The Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure dining room!

The magic of Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure aboard the Disney Wish starts as you first approach the dining room with rustic looking stone work.

There are also these themed columns to give the space a Nordic touch.

Disney Wish Arendelle

Check out these guards!

And, of course, Greg, giving a “thumbs up” on the work the guards are doing.

Take a look at this amazing and LOOONNNGGGGG hallway that leads to the dining space!

If you need to take a quick rest while walking to dinner, there’s one of these Disney Cruise Line porthole cubbies just waiting for you to take a load off!

The artwork in Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure about the Disney Wish is absolutely stunning. I love this photo of Kristoff and Sven!

And, how adorable is this shelf and those dolls!?

The Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure is more than just an over-the-top dining room. It’s just so much more! It’s actually an immersive, theatrical dining experience with appearances from your favorite Frozen characters and so much more!

Disney Wish Arendelle

The adventure picks up from where the story in Frozen 2 left off. Elsa and her summertime-living pal, Olaf, are the hosts for the evening with the catering provided by Oaken’s “Hearty Party Planning Service… and Sauna.”

Oaken

Live entertainment during the experience is provided by “local” musicians who specialize in Nordic renditions of familiar “Frozen” songs.

The dining room for Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure aboard the Disney Wish was designed to invite Guests to be in the middle of all the action. A “theater-in-the-round” featuring a small center stage was designed to bring Guests into the middle of a fun, Nordic adventure.

As with all the details above, Disney Imagineers worked hard to bring this story to life with invisible fiber optics in the ceiling of the room to make you feel just like you are experiencing Elsa’s icy magic.

While dining in Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure be prepared for festive music, live appearances by your favorite Frozen characters, crafts, along with hilarious sing-alongs and a grand finale that’ll have everyone in attendance on their feet!

With all of this Frozen magic, I almost forgot to mention what’s on the menu!

Disney Wish Arendelle

Guests are invited to feast on a menu served family-style that combines traditional Nordic ingredients with modern, family-friendly fare.

To end the festive evening, make sure to save room for dessert! We can guarantee that one of Anna’s favorite foods – chocolate – is listed!

4 Expensive Disney Cruise Options That Are Worth the Cost (and One That Isn’t)

T aking a Disney  cruise  lets you be the prince or princess of a Disney story. Everything from your meals to onboard entertainment is taken care of, leaving you free to explore everything the ship offers.

Find Out:  How To Get $340 Per Year in Cash Back on Things You Already Buy

Understanding  what’s included  in your package can help you decide where it might be worth splashing out a bit more cash for an even more enchanting experience.

While every Disney cruise comes with its share of pixie dust, some experiences are so spectacular they justify the extra investment. From princess makeovers to adult-only fine dining, prioritizing the right upgrades can elevate your cruise from memorable to once-in-a-lifetime.

Magical Makeovers at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique/Pirate’s League

The  Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique  offers an opportunity for your children to transform into their favorite characters, whether that’s a prince, princess or pirate. Since you likely chose a Disney cruise for the unique Disney experience or because you or your children are fans of a character or two, it makes sense to take part in this one-of-a-kind makeover option.

Princess makeovers range from $100 to $450, with the basic “Deluxe Carriage Package” including hairstyling, shimmering makeup and face gem, princess sash and cinch sack, nail polish, and t-shirt. Pricier packages also include princess gowns, accessories, tiaras, and more. To give your princess a special experience at a lower cost, you could pack a princess dress rather than paying for the more expensive package that includes one.

For those who would like to become knights or captains, you can select a package that includes a costume, sack or backpack, hairstyling and gel, confetti, and either a sword and shield or a captain’s hat and an autograph book. These packages cost $100 for the knight and $120 for the captain. Pirate makeovers are available on special Pirate Party nights.

Beer Mug or Drink of the Day Savings Package

Although Disney Cruise Line doesn’t offer an all-inclusive alcohol drink package, they do have alternatives that could be a good value if you plan to drink on your cruise. You can purchase a $17 souvenir glass beer mug that allows you to buy 21 oz of draught beer or hard cider for the price of a 16 oz beer or hard cider. This will pay for itself if you have more than around a half-dozen drinks, and you get a nifty keepsake that you can use on future cruises.

There is also an option to purchase a Drink of the Day cocktail souvenir cup that you may refill at a discounted price (and drinks of the day are already discounted). You can use these cups for drink discounts at Disney Castaway Cay as well, so don’t forget to pack your cup when you go ashore. Speaking of going ashore…

Port Adventures

A big part of cruising is going ashore during the port stops along the way. You may want to upgrade your trip by opting for  port adventure packages . These packages can include equipment rentals like bicycles, snorkels, and water tubes. They may also include cultural experiences, sightseeing, or even nature experiences like swimming with dolphins.

Booking your port adventures through Disney also offers the convenience of pre-set pricing, saving you the hassle of haggling or currency exchange. Not all the experiences are super expensive, and even splurging on a mid-range adventure will be a memorable upgrade to your cruise that reduces stress during port days.

Adult-Exclusive Dining

Every Disney Cruise ship offers dining options for adults only, so you can have a peaceful date night with your spouse while sailing. These dining options are only available for people 18 and older. The restaurant options include (depending on your ship) Palo, Palo Steakhouse, Remy, and Enchante.

After recent price increases in 2023, brunch and dinner at Palo and Palo Steakhouse will cost $50 per person for a fixed menu. Base dinner prices at Remy and Enchante are $135 per person. A la carte options are available for an 18% charge on top of the price of each item. While these meals are fairly pricey, especially considering other meals in the Dining Room are included in your ticket cost, you can’t put a dollar amount on an amazing adult-only date night.

Skip This Upgrade: Royal Court Royal Tea

One upgrade option you may have heard about is the Royal Court Royal Tea. While it’s a charming idea, especially for fans of Disney princesses, the cost is steep at $220 per child and $69 per adult.

While the description makes the Royal Tea sound charming, attendees have found it an expensive disappointment. Although it’s a popular add-on, popularity isn’t always synonymous with value. Besides, there is a completely free Princess Gathering where you can meet and greet your favorite Disney Princesses.

Walt Disney World restaurant earns first-ever Michelin star

The chef de cuisine 'cooks with contemporary verve and draws on influences spanning from Asia to the Nordics,' Michelin's judges said.

For foodies traveling to the Most Magical Place on Earth, Walt Disney World’s Victoria and Albert’s restaurant has long been a go-to restaurant. The upscale restaurant has won numerous awards , including 24 consecutive AAA Five Diamond Awards and the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award.

Over the years, though, one of the culinary world’s most prestigious honors, the Michelin star, has eluded Victoria and Albert’s — until now.

On April 18, Victoria and Albert’s was one of nine Florida restaurants to earn a Michelin star from the panel of anonymous inspectors who judge each restaurant based on its atmosphere, service and food.

MORE: Disney World foods so good they’re worth the trip on their own

Walt Disney World's Victoria and Albert's earns a Michelin star.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by Michelin for the innovative dining experience our team brings to life here at Victoria and Albert’s,” said Chef de Cuisine Matthew Sowers in a statement shared by the official Disney Parks Blog . “Everybody on our team earned this Star, from our stewards to our culinarians to our pastry chefs, and we hope to inspire future generations of culinary professionals to follow their dreams.”

The official Michelin statement about Victoria and Albert’s spoke highly of Sower’s culinary skill, saying “Chef Matthew Sowers cooks with contemporary verve and draws on influences spanning from Asia to the Nordics.”

Other standout qualities from the judges included Victoria and Albert’s “‘sandwiches’ made with venison carpaccio and red cabbage, and bold sauces like cherry-cola bordelaise.”

Restaurants can earn from one star to three stars based on their evaluation. One Michelin star is awarded “to restaurants using top quality ingredients, where dishes with distinct flavors are prepared to a consistently high standard.” Fewer than 200 U.S. restaurants earn a one-star Michelin rating, so winning this accolade is a major accomplishment.

Known for its wine list of more than 500 varieties and a constantly changing menu to reflect the freshest and finest ingredients, Victoria and Albert’s offers guests three dining experiences, including a meal in the traditional dining room, an expanded menu offering in Queen Victoria’s Room or a luxurious, intimate dining event at The Chef’s Table.

Walt Disney World's Victoria and Albert's Chef's Table dining experience

Up to six people can embark on a 3-hour culinary tour around the world customized to the guest’s preferences. Prices for this unique experience start at $425 per guest, not including an optional wine pairing ($210 per guest) or zero-proof pairings ($145 per guest).

The restaurant is located in Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridan Resort. Reservations must be made in advance online or by calling 407-939-3862 . This experience books up quickly, so leave plenty of time to make your reservations. Victoria and Albert’s is only for guests ages 19 and up and requires semi-formal or formal attire.

Located at the Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World, Victoria and Albert’s is known for its opulent Victorian era-inspired meals. A prix-fixe dinner is $295 per guest, with optional wine pairings starting at $155 per person. Over the decades since Walt Disney opened his first theme park in 1955, the company’s tourism business has ballooned to an enterprise worth tens of billions in yearly sales, with sprawling locations in Anaheim, Orlando, Paris, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Today, the Burbank entertainment giant is doubling down once again. Disney plans to invest $60 billion over 10 years into its so-called experiences division, which includes the theme parks, resorts and cruise line, as well as merchandise.

In Anaheim, the city council recently approved an expansion plan at Disneyland Resort, which could lead to at least $1.9 billion of development and involve new attractions alongside hotel, retail and restaurant space.

Why the massive investment? At a time when Disney faces revenue challenges due to cord cutting, streaming wars and a slower film box office, its theme parks are a bright — and reliable — spot for its business. Moreover, they play a major part in the company’s strategy — using well-loved movies to inspire rides and vice versa (think “Pirates of the Caribbean”), feeding an ongoing virtuous cycle.

“When you consider other elements of Disney’s business, those theme parks, they’ve shown themselves to be proven winners,” said Carissa Baker, assistant professor of theme park and attraction management at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management. “There’s no doubt that they have stayed very competitive in the film space and the TV space, but they’ve always led the theme park sector.”

Will Disneyland get an Avatar land? It’s likely. Here’s what else may be in store

With the approval of DisneylandForward, new attractions and adventures will be coming to Disneyland. Here’s what’s been teased by Disney officials so far.

April 17, 2024

During the most recent fiscal year, the company’s experiences division — which is heavily anchored by the parks — brought in about 70% of Disney’s operating income, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. By contrast, Disney’s sports sector, including ESPN, contributed 19% of operating income. The entertainment division, consisting of the company’s TV channels, streaming services and movie studios, brought up the rear at 11%.

Those numbers represent a stark contrast from even 10 years ago, when the company was heavily reliant on its TV networks, which brought in 56% of Disney’s operating income (that segment included ESPN at the time). The parks and resorts division drew just 20%.

The tide began to turn in 2019, as the global theme park industry saw record-breaking attendance, just in time for the pandemic to hit the next year.

With the parks closed, Disney reported an operating loss of $81 million in 2020 . Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure, in particular, were shut for 15 months, due to tight restrictions in the Golden State. Since then, pent-up demand from visitors has propelled theme park revenue in a way that hasn’t been replicated in movie theaters.

“The industry was really growing quickly before COVID-19, and that obviously put a crimp on everything,” said Martin Lewison, associate professor of business management at Farmingdale State College in New York. “But it appears as long as the economy remains healthy, the industry is back on track for that growth.”

Disney’s Bob Iger triumphs over Nelson Peltz in bitter shareholder vote. But big challenges remain

April 3, 2024

Theme parks are typically one of the fastest parts of the travel and hospitality industry to recover after economic downturns, said Dennis Speigel, founder and chief executive of consulting firm International Theme Park Services. Part of that is because it’s hard to duplicate the theme park experience at home.

“Disney sets the bar for our entire global theme park industry,” Speigel said. “The guests, the visitors, they love the way Disney immerses you in their storytelling.”

The Disneyland Resort expansion plan, known as DisneylandForward, will help the 490-acre park stay fresh for visitors. The plan calls for changes to the park’s zoning, allowing the company more freedom to mix attractions, theme parks, shopping, dining and parking. While the plan doesn’t specify exactly which attractions will be added to the resort, company officials have floated ideas including immersive Frozen, Tron and Avatar experiences.

Over the years, Disneyland has cycled out many rides and exhibits to make way for new ones — for example, of the original 33 attractions that debuted with the park , only about a dozen still exist. (One that didn’t make it? The Monsanto Hall of Chemistry).

Though Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure have recently seen additions such as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge , Avengers Campus and the renovated Pixar Place Hotel , giving guests new reasons to come back again and again are the key to increased growth. This summer, the Magic Kingdom will open Tiana’s Bayou Adventure , replacing the controversial “Song of the South”-inspired Splash Mountain attraction.

“In the theme parks business, you tend to make more money the more you invest,” said Lewison of Farmingdale State College. “People love riding Haunted Mansion 50 times, but the truth is that even that gets old. So new rides, new lands, new parks — these things draw in attendance, they create pricing power and they add capacity.”

And Disney’s rivals in the theme parks business show no signs of slowing down, meaning Disney can’t just rely on its existing hits. Universal Studios Hollywood recently added Super Nintendo World to its park, SeaWorld is touting new attractions and shows for its 60th anniversary this year, and even immersive art installation company Meow Wolf is expanding throughout the U.S.

The competition is becoming so fierce that Disney Chief Executive Bob Iger faced a pointed question during last month’s shareholder meeting about Walt Disney World’s readiness to vie with a new Universal park set to open in Orlando in 2025. He pushed back on the query, saying the idea that Disney World didn’t prepare enough attractions to compete for guests that year “just couldn’t be further from the truth.”

“We’ve been aware of Universal’s plans for a new park for more than a decade,” he said. “We have a sophisticated approach to analyzing the needs of all of our businesses and strategically deploying capital.”

The importance of the parks to Disney’s bottom line is also showing up in the entertainment giant’s search for Iger’s successor . (Iger is expected to retire in 2026.) Josh D’Amaro, the chair of Disney Experiences, which includes the parks, is considered one of four front-runners for the job. Notably, it was Bob Chapek, formerly of the parks division, who initially succeeded Iger, though he was later ousted from the role.
