Soldier Field Releases Details About Crowds, Parking and More For Taylor Swift Chicago Shows

The moment 190,500 of you have been waiting for is nearly here, by francie swidler • published may 31, 2023 • updated on june 2, 2023 at 7:42 am.

Head's up, Chicago Swifties: The show you've been waiting for is just days away. But you already knew that. What you may not know though, is all the ins and outs of seeing a show at Soldier Field.

"The final countdown to Taylor Swift's 3-night foray at Soldier Field is finally upon us," a press release from the stadium said Wednesday. "Taylor Swift will play to sold-out audiences at Soldier Field all three nights (June, 2, 3 & 4)," the release continues, adding that Swift's "The Eras Tour" is one of the "most anticipated musical events of 2023."

MORE: Pick-Up, Timing, Restrictions: What Parents Need to Know About Taylor Swift's Chicago Shows

In stadiums across the county, those musical events have yet to disappoint fans, despite pouring rain and security snafus . And as more than 60,000 Swift fans descend on Soldier Field each night -- not including parents and ride-share drivers dropping off and picking up the thousands of concert goers -- here's how it's all expected to go down.

Each night of Swift's three-night Soldier Field residency is sold out, the stadium says. According to Soldier Field officials, the stadium currently holds 63,500 people. And though it's the smallest NFL stadium in the nation, it's significantly bigger than Chicago's other large venues.

For example, Wrigley Field, where Bruce Springsteen, Dead & Company and Fall Out Boy are playing later this summer, has a capacity of 41,649. The United Center, where Aerosmith is set to play in September, holds 23,500.

However you slice it -- the show, and the area near the stadium, are expected to be packed.

There certainly will be.

"Guests may experience heavy traffic at certain times," Soldier Field says. Additionally, several construction projects in and out of Chicago may cause additional backups and delays, including the Kennedy Expressway construction as well as ongoing resurfacing and lane closures along DuSable Lake Shore Drive .

Drop Off and Pick Up

There will be designated drop-off and pick-up locations for parents and chaperones coming to the stadium, Soldier Field notes. Here's a breakdown:

Those attending the show can be dropped off at the 18th Drive Turnaround, just west of Lake Shore Drive's 18th Drive exit ramp. However, due to heavy traffic, officials suggest dropping fans off at Columbus Drive or Michigan Avenue and then having them walking to the museum campus.

For pick-up after the show, officials say reunification for parents, guardians and rideshare drivers will take place on Columbus Drive between Roosevelt and Balbo, beginning at 10:30 p.m.

"We encourage parents and chaperones to use this area in order to quickly reunite with family and friends," Soldier Field's release states. "Drivers may use the alphabetical signage markers to provide guests with identifiers. Stadium security and parking personnel will be present to provide a safe and organized operation."

Additionally, stadium security will be onsite to "provide a safe and organized operation."

Both Soldier Field and city officials are "strongly" encouraging ticket holders to use public transportation, and to arrive early.

When Do Gates, Parking Lots Open?

Each day of the show, merchandise sales outside the stadium will begin at 12 p.m. in four locations, Soldier Field says. Parking lots open at 2 p.m., and show gates open at 4:30 p.m.

The show is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m., with openers OWEN and Girl in Red Friday and Saturday, and Grace Adams and Muna Sunday.

According to the stadium, Swift will take the stage around 8 p.m., with a set that lasts for at least three hours.

If you didn't already buy a parking spot at Soldier Field for the show, you're out of luck.

"Parking lots are currently sold out from the advance sales of parking," Soldier Field says. However, some lots nearby may have spots available.

McCormick Place Lot B, Millennium and South Grant Park garages will be open, with Millennium Park Garage offering a shuttle to and from the stadium. The shuttle will pick up fans at lower Randolph and pick them up at the Metra 18th stairs between 4 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Grant Park South, Grant Park North and Millennium Lakeside Garages won't be offering shuttle service, however.

What Can You Bring In To Soldier Field?

Soldier Field adheres to the NFL bag policy, which limits the size and type of bags that are allowed into stadiums.

Only bags that are "clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12," the NFL says. "No buckles, grommets/hardware or décor can be concealing any part of the bag."

In other words: The bag must literally be all clear.

Posters will be allowed in, Soldier Field says , but cannot exceed 24 inches x 24 inches.

Don't Have a Ticket?

Buyer beware, the Better Business Bureau says.

While many tickets offered for sold-out shows like Swift's may be legitimate, others are not, BBB president and CEO Steve J. Bernas warns .

"One of the first things to do in advance is to be on the lookout for fake websites, tickets, and merchandise," Bernas says. "You don’t want to show up at the gate after waiting months and paying hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars only to find out your ticket is fake."

Make sure you're buying from a verified seller, and use your credit card for any purchases, as it offers the best fraud protection of any payment method.

"There are countless ways for consumers to find tickets online, with online marketplaces, ticket sellers, resellers, and unfortunately, some are rip-offs," Bernas adds.

MORE: No Ticket To Taylor Swift at Soldier Field? The Stadium Has a Message For You: Stay Away

According to Bernas, buyers should use "extra caution" when buying tickets sold on online marketplace platforms like Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace.

"Buying tickets on these sites from people you do not know is similar to buying tickets in a dark alley," Bernas said. "Scammers are skilled at providing realistic tickets and fake receipts."

Additionally, Soldier Field is asking those without tickets to refrain from coming to the stadium.

"People without tickets are strongly discouraged from coming to the Soldier Field campus," Soldier Field's release states. "No part of the show will be visible and stadium acoustics do not provide any audible quality outside of it."

Will Celebrities Will Be There?

While Hollywood stars, athletes and musicians have been spotted at Swift's previous shows on the tour , it remains to be seen who might make an appearance at the upcoming Chicago shows.

Some good news, though: one who may not be welcome at Soldier Field already took in a show his new home stadium in Foxborough, New Jersey .

eras tour chicago night 3

CHICAGO — Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour is headed to Chicago — are you ready for it?

The megastar is scheduled to shake it off Friday-Sunday at Soldier Field, performing a three-hour retrospective of her 10-album discography with essentially no breaks. OWENN and girl in red will open the show Friday and Saturday, while MUNA and Gracie Abrams will kick off the festivities Sunday.

Swifties following the tour so far know all too well that planning ahead of time is crucial — from executing the best bejeweled outfit to figuring out transportation, bag policies and more.

Don’t have a cruel summer. Check out these tips and tricks to making your Eras Tour experience at Soldier Field live up to your wildest dreams.

Parking lots open 2 p.m., the doors to the show open 4:30 p.m. and opening acts take the stage about 6:30 p.m.

Based on the tour schedule so far, Taylor Swift tends to start her portion of the show about 7:50 p.m., and the set typically ends 11:15-11:30 p.m.

Getting there

By car: Major roadways like I-55, I-90, I-90/94, and I-290 all lead directly to Soldier Field. Get specific directions here . Parking is very limited near Soldier Field, but you can reserve a spot in advance through the venue’s website. Lots vary in proximity to the stadium. Currently, rates for the event range from $15-$85, plus fees, when bought ahead of time.

Shuttle service for the event will also be provided from the Millennium Park Garage and McCormick Place Lot B. The shuttle will run beginning at 4 p.m. and end at 1 a.m.

By public transportation: Concertgoers would be wise to use the city’s public transportation systems to get to and from the stadium.

Swifties heading in from rural towns or the suburbs can use Metra and Amtrak trains to get to Downtown. Passenger trains will arrive at either Union Station or Ogilvie Transportation Center , depending on the train line. From there, attendees will need to either hail a taxi, summon a rideshare service or take the No. 130 Museum Campus bus. At Union Station, the rideshare pickup location is at Canal Street and Adams Street.

Concertgoers coming from the south suburbs can take the Metra Electric line to 18th Street, which drops off passengers just steps from Soldier Field.

Attendees can also take the CTA Red, Green or Orange Line trains to the Roosevelt Station, which drops riders off about 0.75 miles from the venue — about a 20-minute walk to the stadium. Alternatively, the No. 146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express picks passengers up from the Roosevelt Station and drops them off at Soldier Field.

Travel tip: Park your vehicle at a Metra or Amtrak parking lot — or in a Chicago neighborhood — and take a train or bus to the stadium to avoid traffic and parking complications.

Taking the 146 bus from the Roosevelt Red Line, as well as just walking from the Roosevelt Red line.

Walking from the Roosevelt Station to Soldier Field.

By rideshare or taxi: People taking Ubers, Lyfts, or taxis to the show will be dropped off at the 18th Drive turnaround, which is just west of the stadium. There is a pedestrian walkway that leads directly to Soldier Field.

Rideshare/taxi drop-off at the 18th Drive turnaround just west of Lake Shore Drive. Also where 18th Street Metra is.

By bike: Bike racks are near Gate 14, by the Children’s Garden and behind the Kennedy Bas Relief. Bring a solid lock.

Tailgating at Soldier Field is allowed, with certain rules .

Traffic post-show will be chaotic; have patience.

Make sure to check Metra and Amtrak train times in advance, as many trains don’t run past 1 a.m. However, the CTA Red Line runs all night, though service tends to be more limited overnight.

If you are taking an Uber, Lyft or taxi after the show, the designated pickup area is at Balbo and Columbus drives for the first hour after the show. After one hour, rideshare pickup can be called to the stadium.

Travel tip: If you plan to use a Metra or CTA train or bus line, download the Ventra app (or download the Amtrak app for Amtrak trains) in advance and buy tickets there so you won’t have to wait in long lines at the stations.

Soldier Field abides by the NFL’s clear bag policy, which states the following:

  • Only a clear, 12-by-6-by-12-inch bag is allowed. This is important, since the stadium won’t let any other kind of bag in. Fortunately, a quick Internet search will yield plenty of clear, concert venue-approved bags, since this policy is pretty standard now at large arenas.
  • A 1-gallon clear plastic freezer bag, like a Ziplock, is also allowed.
  • In addition to a clear plastic bag, a small clutch bag is OK. However, it can’t be bigger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches.
  • If you do bring a prohibited style of bag, you can check it at lockers at the 18th Street Turnaround south of the venue along the walkway after passing through the tunnel under Lake Shore Drive.
  • Diaper bags aren’t allowed, so diapers must be brought in within a clear bag, and one bag is allowed per person, including children.

Swifties know one of the biggest aspects of this tour has been acquiring merchandise. Fans can stop by Soldier Field before the concert for early merch sales 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday and starting noon on show days. Early merch stands will be outside Gates 3 and 4, along the sidewalk north of the Waldron Deck and at the Stadium Green.

You can also stay up to date with Swift’s merch truck by following @taylornation on Instagram, where you’ll likely get a notification asking if you’d like to join a broadcast channel. That channel will send direct messages to followers with information regarding the timing and location of the tour-themed merch bus.

However, there will also be merchandise stands throughout the stadium.

Tickets waiting at Will Call can be found at the large ticket booth across from Gate 10. A photo ID with a name matching the ticketholder’s is required for pickup.

What not to bring

According to Soldier Field, the following items are prohibited:

  • Water bottles
  • Standard purses
  • Fanny packs
  • Diaper bags
  • Mace/pepper spray
  • vVdeo/movie cameras
  • Confetti (don’t worry; it will be provided)

Smoking policy

It’s probably best to keep the lavender haze at home — smoking cigarettes, including e-cigarettes and vaping devices, are prohibited in the stadium, and Soldier Field doesn’t allow re-entry.

Helpful tips

Banners and signs are allowed, but they can’t obstruct the view of others or include any profanity, advertising or political slogans.

Want a better view? Standard binoculars are fine to bring, and cameras (without a case) are also OK. However, your camera must have a 6-inch or smaller lens.

Trying to decide what to wear? This tour has become known for fans’ expressive outfits; just make sure they don’t obstruct any views. And if you’re thinking of showcasing your best cosplay for “The Man,” leave the briefcase at home; it’s not allowed inside. Also make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the show lasts over three hours.

A cardigan may also be helpful, as the current forecast shows temperatures in the 70s. However, in Chicago, the weather can change at a moment’s notice, so make sure to keep checking the forecast.

Attendees may also want to opt for a poncho, as Swift has played at least two shows during rainstorms so far.

In Nashville, one show was delayed by a thunderstorm for about 4 hours before Swift took the stage to perform into the wee hours of the morning. The show at Soldier Field is expected to go on regardless of sunshine or midnight rain.

Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour Is a 3-Hour Career-Spanning Victory Lap

By Waiss Aramesh

Waiss Aramesh

How do we measure the impact of a musician in 2023? Streams can be bought. Awards can be finessed. Is it when demand for show tickets leads to a congressional hearing about Ticketmaster’s policies? Or when flight attendants shout out a fanbase making a pilgrimage to see a tour opener? Or when TikToks of merch inspirations and setlist predictions rack up millions of views? Nearly a decade ago, a headline ran declaring ‘ Taylor Swift Is The Music Industry’ and those with even the slightest pulse on pop culture can tell she’s only grown more omnipresent since. It all led to a warm evening in Glendale, Arizona where months after delivering her most commercially-successful album to date, Midnights , Swift debuted a discography-spanning setlist that lasted over three hours and kicked off an aptly-named stadium run. The Eras Tour has arrived.

After night had fallen and GAYLE and Paramore revved the crowd up with a mix of recent chart-toppers (GAYLE’s “abcdefu”) and cultural anthems (Paramore’s “Misery Business”), it was time for the main event. At 7:57pm, a timer appeared on a massive screen prompting screams from all corners of State Farm Stadium. Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me” played as fans braced themselves for the arrival of Swift. When the timer hit 0:00, the house we’d seen in the “Lover” music video assembled on the screen, indicating that this evening was first and foremost about reviving the feelings each era evoked.

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

It’s easy to compare one of Swift’s stadium shows to something you’d see on Broadway — never has that been more true than for The Eras Tour . The setlist is cut up into acts, grouped together by eras for each of Swift’s ten studio albums. For each era/act, Swift went full-send into that album’s look, feel, costume, color blocking, and more.

Many eras got a few songs. At one moment, it seemed like Swift’s soft spot for Folklore would mean we’d hear the entire album. On the opposite end, Speak Now ’s part of the show was short but impactful. Swift played only one song from her third studio album, “Enchanted,” while wearing a stunning floor-length ballroom gown designed by Nicole + Derr. Hopping from act to act, Swift made it extremely clear when she’s taking the audience out of one era and into another. This isn’t a hastily put together setlist with a vague thread of connective tissue — Swift is taking her audience on a nostalgic extravaganza.

Taylor Swift Dominates Entire Top 10 on Hot 100. Again

Taylor swift makes chart history with ‘the tortured poets department', how st. vincent unlocked her realest album yet.

For “The Man,” Swift completed her Versace look with a blazer and made sure everyone could see the red bottoms when she kicked her feet up on a conference room table as she delivered the masterfully written and scathing assessment of gender inequality in pop culture. Swift closed out the Lover era act with “You Need to Calm Down” and “The Archer,” the latter getting a beautifully stripped down rendition so Swift’s vocals echoed across the stadium: “Because all of my enemies started out friends / Help me hold onto you.”

At one point, as Swift ran through hits from her Fearless era, she flashed a smile and announced to the crowd that she was taking us back to high school with her. The nostalgia seeped into the show, resulting in some of the loudest crowd participation yet, especially from those old enough to have grown up with Swift and were in high school at the same time she was. The singer ran through “Fearless,” “You Belong With Me,” and “Love Story,” reminding us of a time when we discovered the pop phenomenon unbeknownst to the level of celebrity she’d achieve.

Something about Swift — she’s online. If the fact that she decided to end last night with the TikTok-friendly “Karma” doesn’t make that obvious enough, her joke about disliking Evermore hammers home the point.

Later on in the act reserved for her ninth studio album, in line with how theatrical the event was, Swift set up a beautiful dinner setting only to deliver a heart-wrenching rendition of “Tolerate It.” She also performed “Tis the Damn Season,” “Willow,” “Marjorie,” and “Champagne Problems,” giving fans a sizable taste of the Evermore live experience they weren’t able to receive when the project came out in 2020.

For the acts dedicated to Reputation and Red , fans were treated to a masterclass in visuals and hitmaking, two key elements that has assured Swift prolonged success for as long as she’s had it. The powerful, striking, snake motifs were an awesome callback for fans who attended the Reputation tour.

For Red , Swift went through “22,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” and “I Knew You Were Trouble. She closed out the act with a beautiful performance of the 10-minute “Taylor’s Version” of “All Too Well.” In the evening’s most ethereal moment, small white confetti made to look like snow blanketed the State Farm Stadium as she neared the end of her magnum opus, singing “Because in this city’s barren cold/I still remember the first fall of snow/And how it glistened how it fell/I remember it all too well.” Not only is Swift a savant for world-building, but she’s perfected the ability to translate those worlds into the live experience.

Swift wasn’t shy about making sure people got the full Folklore live experience. A makeshift cabin, not unlike the one made during Swift’s 2021 Grammys performance, sat on the stage with Swift perched on it during “Invisible String.” The star also discussed how she finally got comfortable crafting narratives for purely fictional characters, rather than ripping them from the headlines about her life.

1989’s era act turned the party up and restored the energy, with Swift donning a Roberto Cavalli top and skirt and going through “Style,” “Blank Space,” “Shake It Off,” “Wildest Dreams,” and “Bad Blood.”

To cap off the evening, Swift returned to Midnights , performing album highlights “Lavender Haze,” “Mastermind,” and more. It was hard to ignore the immense gratitude the singer continued to exude throughout the evening, with the “thank yous” coming more and more often the closer she got to the end.

Eventually, the singer asked the crowd if they had time for one more and launched into her finale, “Karma,” a track with a passionate chorus that’s begging to be scream-sung in a room of over 70,000 who’ve been waiting for this exact moment for years. Maybe it’s fitting that an artist who’s had more than her fair share of ups and downs, and at times has been the most polarizing musician alive, ends her stadium tour opener with a song about how she can finally protect her peace. Karma’s a relaxing thought, indeed.

Getting a chance to see Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour is no easy feat, but these famous faces were able to snag a seat to one of the hottest shows of the year.

The "Blank Space" singer, 34, kicked off the highly anticipated tour on March 17 in Arizona with a setlist that went for more than three hours and included exciting effects and eye-catching costumes .

As she continues to bring the tour around the world, the Grammy Award winner is packing stadiums with die-hard Swifties, including some of her famous pals including Blake Lively , Gigi Hadid , Selena Gomez and Jack Antonoff — who even surprised the crowd at a tour stop in New Jersey to sing “Getaway Car” with Swift.

Back in July, Travis Kelce caught his very first Eras Tour performance where he first tried to meet Swift . The rest is, well, history and the Kansas City Chiefs star has now traveled far and wide, most recently to Sydney, Australia, to catch his girlfriend's record-breaking show.

From date nights to girls’ nights out, see which stars have been spotted at the Eras Tour so far!

Travis Kelce

James Gourley/Shutterstock

Travis Kelce first saw the Eras Tour in July 2023 — before he had even met Swift. Despite his best efforts, he did not meet her that night, though dating rumors between the superstars began swirling late that summer and on Sept. 24, Swift attended one of his football games. As their romance heated up, Kelce traveled to Argentina to catch the Eras Tour, where the two were spotted sharing the most adorable post-show kiss. In February, following his Super Bowl win, Kelce hit the road again to support his girlfriend and traveled to Sydney where he was spotted at her Feb. 23 show.

Katy Perry was also down under for Swift's Feb. 23 show and shared her experience on Instagram with a carousel of photos and videos. "got to see an old friend shine tonight," she wrote alongside the post which included a sweet selfie with Swift and two videos of her performing.

Rita Ora & Taika Waititi

Perry was also joined by fellow singer Rita Ora and her husband Taika Waititi in the VIP tent. "It’s fair to say Sydney 🇦🇺 always delivers - Or shall we say our TayTay @taylorswift always delivers!," Ora wrote on Instagram. "thank you for having us! Seeing my KP @katyperry made my heart 🥹 to many queens to count!"

Included in her post was a shot of the married couple posing with Swift backstage and one of Ora and Kelce inside the stadium.

Baz Luhrmann

Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann also joined the star-studded group of fans on Friday and was seen having some fun in the VIP tent.

Toni Collette

And fellow Aussie Toni Collete was also in attendance, seen hanging out alongside Waititi, Ora and Perry.

Rebel Wilson

On Sydney night two, Rebel Wilson was in the crowd, posing for photos with opening act Sabrina Carpenter (and Swift's dad!) and writing on Instagram that Swift "crushed it."

Karlie Kloss

Karlie Kloss was spotted dancing in the audience during Swift's final show at SoFi Stadium on August 9.

Samir Hussein/WireImage; Halsey/Instagram

Halsey shared their excitement for attending Swift's final show by sharing their impressive stack of friendship bracelets to Instagram before the show writing, "20 down 30 to go" and giving a closer look at the colorful accessories. Later on, the singer shared more to their Instagram Story including a clip of Swift onstage along with the caption "I love 1 (one) woman @taylorswift."

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington/Instagram

Ahead of Swift's final L.A. show, Kerry Washington shared a video to her Instagram decked out in (appropriately) red and dancing by her pool to "August" along with the caption "And by the way I'm going out tonight (Kerry's version) #RedEra #ErasTour ❤️" Later on, she shared photos to her Story that included a close up of two Red- themed bracelets.

iamsandraohinsta/Instagram

"We were all so in the moment that we didn't take many pictures together and I didn't even take that many videos," Patrick wrote in part. " @taylorswift sang 44 songs and it was the most amazing concert I have ever seen. Swiftie for life. ❤️"

Samara Weaving

Samara Weaving also appeared to snag a seat to one of Swift's first tour dates in Glendale, Arizona, as she shared a glimpse into her night on her Instagram Stories — which were posted by a fan on Twitter.

In one clip shared to TikTok, Swift was seen performing her song "Mirrorball," which was the night's surprise song.

Is jon bon jovi married & how many children does he have.

Jon Bon Jovi is the lead singer of Bon Jovi, a rock band that has been performing since the 1980s. Did the frontman ever get married and have kids?

  • Jon Bon Jovi married his high school sweetheart Dorothea in 1989, and they remain deeply in love.
  • The couple has four children, including a son who is engaged to a Stranger Things actress.
  • Bongiovi and his wife Dorothea have navigated personal and professional highs and lows together.

The Hulu docuseries Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story chronicles the decades-long journey of the rock band Bon Jovi , shining a spotlight on Jon Bongiovi (better known by his stage name Jon Bon Jovi), who has built an impressive career for himself and a large family. Bongiovi was born on March 2, 1962, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and raised in New Jersey. When he was 12 years old, Bongiovi formed his first band, and he founded a second called Atlantic City Expressway (which included future Bon Jovi member David Bryan) when he was 16.

Bongiovi went through many bands when he was in his teens, but it wasn't until 1983 that Bon Jovi was officially formed. Bryan, Alec John Such, Tico Torres, and Richie Sambora joined Bongiovi in becoming the founding members of Bon Jovi, and the band's career swiftly took off. After releasing two albums, Bon Jovi released their third one, Slippery When Wet , which thrust them into the spotlight with critically acclaimed songs such as "Livin' on a Prayer," "You Give Love a Bad Name," and "Wanted Dead or Alive." By the late 1980s, though, Bongiovi's personal life was also flourishing.

Jon Bon Jovi Has Been Married To Dorothea Since 1989

The couple started dating in high school.

Jon Bongiovi married his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, on April 29, 1989. While Bon Jovi was on tour, the couple briefly slipped away and eloped at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, and they have been married ever since. Many were shocked that Bongiovi and Dorothea eloped, but everything worked out for the best. Bongiovi and his wife Dorothea are, by all accounts, still very much in love. During an interview with People in April 2024, the rock star said:

"There is no doubt in my mind that this world revolves because of [Dorothea], because of what she did to keep the kids right, what she does to keep me right, what we do together to keep it right. No doubt about it. She's not afraid to call me out on something, but she's also there when I call, and I'm there for her when she falls. No matter where I went in my career — the ups or the downs — we did it together."

Hulu's New Docuseries Is Perfect If You're Sick Of Hearing About Taylor Swift's Eras Tour

Jon bon jovi has 4 children with dorothea, their son is engaged to a stranger things actress.

Four years after their wedding in 1989, Jon and Dorothea Bongiovi started expanding their family and the couple ultimately had four children. Their first and only daughter, Stephanie, was born in 1993 and inspired the rock star to write Bon Jovi's "I Got the Girl," which appeared on the band's 2000 album Crush. Following Stephanie, Dorothea gave birth to three sons — Jesse in 1995, Jake in 2002, and Romeo in 2004.

Jon and Dorothea Bongiovi's second son, Jake, has probably been in the spotlight the most out of the couple's four children.

Per People , Stephanie is a camera operator; Jesse founded a rosé company with his father; Jake is an actor; and Romeo has kept his life relatively private. Jon and Dorothea's second son, Jake, has probably been in the spotlight the most out of the couple's four children. Jake started dating Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown in 2021, and the young couple got engaged in April 2023. However, it's unknown when Bongiovi and Brown plan to get married. Nevertheless, Jon Bongiovi has seemingly had a great life, personally and professionally, as seen in Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story .

Things to do, tv and streaming | ‘hacks’ review: jean smart’s deborah vance sets her sights on a late-night talk show gig in season 3.

From left: Hannah Einbinder and Jean Smart in Season 3 of "Hacks." (Max)

It’s the same quasi-“Tonight Show” gig show that she lost earlier in her career — a crushing letdown that left her bitter and shellshocked for decades — so this feels personal: “I have been waiting over 40 years for a second chance. This is it. I want that chair. ” Does the premise feel somewhat behind the times considering late-night TV has lost much of its cache in recent years? Yes! Don’t tell “Hacks” that, but maybe it doesn’t even matter. As a framing device, it gives the season a much-needed shape and a compelling narrative destination.

The pair have been estranged for months, with Deborah busy (if bored) doing a victory lap after the massive success of her comedy special. Ava is on the upswing as well, writing for a show that’s a riff on John Oliver’s “Last Week Tonight.” Technically, they don’t need each other anymore. But clearly, in some metaphysical sense, they do. This is the cycle they’re trapped in and the show’s guiding principle: A gradual, somewhat grudging bond is formed between two prickly personalities, lulling you into the belief that their friendship has progressed beyond its transactional, sharp-elbowed origins and then — zing — betrayal. It’s a true Hollywood story.

Ava remains the kind of annoying person who rear-ends a city bus and apologizes profusely as the passengers disembark — “I want to commend you for using mass transit!” — before she unironically hightails it back to her car.

Old habits die hard for Deborah, as well. She still relies on her accumulation of stuff to compensate for her disappointments and insecurities. Her secondary closet isn’t just located somewhere in her mansion, it’s an entire warehouse at a separate location. None of this can fix whatever is gnawing at her soul, but it’s such an insightful detail.

Jean Smart in Season 3 of

Rooting from the sidelines are the various members of her team, including her agent (a terrifically beleaguered Paul W. Downs, who is also one of the show’s co-creators along with Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky) and his overeager, can’t-read-a-room-to-save-her-life assistant (Megan Stalter, who gets more nuance this season, making her less of a one-joke construct).

The quips are funnier this time out, too. You know nothing about fashion, Deborah informs Ava: “You look like you’re dressed to have lunch on a steel girder.” Another line is such an obvious but funny joke, I can’t believe we haven’t heard it sooner: “I can’t be woke, I’m exhausted!” Schmoozing and shilling are second nature to Deborah because she’s a warhorse in this business and willing to play the game if the price is right. Ava brings more awkward vulnerability and skepticism to the mix. Sexism and ageism remain the show’s core themes. But also the neediness of people who are drawn to fame and talk show stardom, and the way failure and neuroses can infect everyone around them. Roger Ebert clocked this in his review of the 2011 documentary “Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop,” noting that after he lost “The Tonight Show,” everyone around him paid a price: “He relentlessly nibbles away at his support system, picks on his personal assistant, needles his sidekick Andy Richter and dominates his writers.” There’s a lot of Deborah and Ava in that description.

It’s a real relationship, twisted and sad, but also weirdly supportive and meaningful — and far more intimate than any bond with their immediate family members. Despite the 40-year age gap, this is probably the most important connection either has ever had.

From left: Megan Stalter and Paul W. Downs in Season 3 of

“Hacks” is more or less doing variations on the same story each season, but it’s doing it in interesting ways, and the brass ring of a late-night talk show gig is a juicy arc onto which this toxic pattern can play out once again. Nobody self-sabotages their way to success like these two. Wariness gives way to trust. And then inevitably the entire floor gives way, every time.

“Hacks” Season 3 — 3.5 stars (out of 4)
