Just have fun

Life can get notoriously busy, and allowing ourselves to have some dedicated time out is hard. A vacation package featuring a festival or event can be the perfect way to switch off and have fun. Let your hair down, dance like nobody’s watching, or show off your moves at a carnival.

Feel like a kid again

We’re not just talking about the seniors here. Ever since we were kids, we’ve had big dreams, and while we can’t turn you into an astronaut, you can dress up like one! Festivals allow us to express ourselves and bring our childhood fantasies to life, so what are you waiting for?

Your festival & events questions, answered, how do i know a festival & events adventure is right for me.

Perhaps you have a bucket list event, are looking for the perfect way to let your hair down, or want to celebrate with friends? With your accommodation, meals, and supplies sorted, an organized adventure takes the stress away so that you can fully enjoy the experience.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Like any adventure, the further in advance you book, the better chance you have of securing your spot, and a festive tour is no different. Events often have limited tickets available, so if you have your eye on a specific one, it’s best to book as early as possible.

Will my adventure be full of young people?

People of all ages love to celebrate! You should expect to meet different people from all over the world. Some festive adventures might see more young people attending—such as the Sziget Festival —compared to ANZAC Day events and the Royal Ascot , where the average age is more varied. Ultimately, you should choose an event that seems right for you.

Is admission included?

A specialized Festival & Events adventure has an itinerary centered around the festival or event, so the ticket is sometimes included in the total cost . However, some festivals offer different perks and levels of access depending on your ticket, so it’s common for your admission to be excluded so that you can choose how you celebrate. When in doubt, reach out to our Customer Support team.

Can I combine Adventure styles?

Yes absolutely! An adventure is what you make of it, so why not add on wine tasting in France , an island-hopping escape to the Greek Islands, or a wild safari ride in Kenya?

How do I book a Festival & Events adventure on TourRadar?

Find your next Festival & Events trip by searching through our adventures until you find one that stands out. Simply select your dates and fill out your details to secure your trip. If you have any questions, our Customer Support team is standing by 24/7.

Festival tours

Places to go for a festival, central america, about our festival tours.

To visit a country and meet its people during a festival can be an experience second to none: you will bring home not just life-long memories of colour, music, dancing and fun but also a richer understanding of the traditions and beliefs that make the country what it is. Join one of our small group tours during a festival and experience a country in a whole new light. Our expert local tour leaders will take you under the skin of your destination, often enabling access to parts of a festival visitors wouldn't usuall see.  In Asia, experience India's Pushkar Camel Fair or the vibrant Holi, sometimes called the Festival of Colours, which takes place over two days each year, celebrating the victory of good over evil - and covering everyone and everything in wet paint along the way!

Elsewhere in Asia you could experience the three traditional sports of Mongolia (wrestling, archery and horse riding) at the annual  Nadaam Festival , or witness the spectacular colours and centuries-old religious customs of Bhutan’s  Thimpu Festival , or immerse yourself in the little-known mountain festivals of south-west China’s Guizhou and Yunnan provinces.

Africa is also rich in tradition and festivals abound, perhaps the most famous being  Timkat  in Ethiopia, celebrating Epiphany and re-enacting the ritual of Baptism. In the Americas you can take part in Brazil’s most spectacular extravaganza, the Rio Carnival, or witness the ancient Inca Inti Raymi festival in Peru. New to Explore? Festival tours

Woman dancing in colourful red and yellow costumes, with headdresses at the Rio carnival in Brazil

For us, festivals are the smell of incense, the fizz of fireworks and the twinkling lights of a Christmas market.

They arrive with the thunder of bespeckled dancers and wind down like a Munich beer hall hangover. They’re the lantern-lit, confetti-filled, mud-slinging reminder that life is there to be enjoyed to the max, and that there’s no such thing as too much fun in the name of pomp and ceremony.

From the embers of a fire pit in Papua New Guinea and the graveyards of Mexico to the tulip fields and orange groves of  Europe , festival season never truly dies – and we’ve got your private pass all ready to go. It’s time to strap on your sandals, pick up some maracas and dive right in.

You haven’t partied properly if you haven’t done it in  Rio during Carnival  – and that’s a promise. Whether you want to watch a parade of elaborate floats featuring costumed dancers showing off their best moves, join a conga line of colorfully clad locals snaking their way through the surging streets or perfect your samba steps so you can blend in with the Carioca crowds, prepare your mind, body, and soul for the biggest party on earth.

As if your 9-day trek through the steamy rainforests of  Rwanda  in search of wildlife you’re used to seeing in books wasn’t good enough, you’ll also get the opportunity to participate in the Kwita Izina ceremony; a naming ceremony for the baby gorillas born in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park during the year. Celebrate this park’s protection efforts and revel in the festivities that encompass this special and unique conservation event.

There are  few experiences  that could make an unforgettable trip to the tropical island of  Vanuatu  any better but witnessing the incredible naghol festival – where local, indigenous men jump from high platforms as part of a coming-of-age ritual - is definitely one of them. Paving the way for present-day bungee jumping, this land-diving ceremony will undoubtedly take your breath away and give you an insight into the Melanesian culture that few visitors ever get to see.

Discover a different side of  Mexico  on one of two trips that’ll lead you straight into the heart of this haunting celebration. From visiting local cemeteries to see how families decorate the graves of their ancestors and creating a traditional altar in TIahuac to watching the colorful and incredible  Day of the Dead  parade as it spills through the streets of Mexico City, your trip will be filled with all of the cultural experiences that make this ceremonial festival one to remember.

Our History

We emigrated to the United States in 1985- Robert from Spain and Janet from Peru. From a very young age, we both worked to travel to as many countries as our low budget could afford. Despite being a very large Hispanic community in this country, we eventually realized that there were no guided tours in Spanish, so the Tours Festival was born with a clear desire to create unique, value-added trips for our Hispanic community. Today we are one of the largest Travel Agencies in the United States offering tours in our native language; Spanish, and now offering tours in English. We offer tours worldwide for travelers who buy from anywhere to more than 100 countries in the world through our websites viewed in the USA and all Spanish-speaking countries.

Our Mission

Never stop learning, never stop creating, never stop adding value to our travels, and never stop offering the best to people who entrust their dreams and efforts with us. The world changes, the ways of traveling change, our economic possibilities change, what does not change is the great need to experience new things, to break the routine, and satisfy the curiosity to know other cultures, which can be accomplished through travel. We have a mission to make this possible, by adjusting to your priorities, your possibilities, and your experience with all the respect that everyone deserves. The enjoyment it causes you to fulfill your dreams is our mission, and it is our gratification.

At Tours Festival we work happy and proud of each of its members.

I just got back early this morning. I bit jet lagged but the flight went well. The trip went very well. We just returned from our vacation and I received your email. I can only say the nicest things about Yigit and the job he did as our guide. He was personable, incredibly knowledgeable, flexible, funny and caring. We couldn't have been happier with any other guide. We had a great time and learned so much from him. He was very proud of everything related to Turkey from its history to the current culture and that pride came though so well. It was a pleasure to meet him and we all hope that his path crosses ours again in the future. We loved everything ...

Fest Travel I highly recommend FEST Travel as an outstanding travel agency for group educational travel. During the summer of2009, Mr. Zekeriya Şen, executive manager of FEST Travel, organized a customized tour to Turkey for our group of teachers. We found that the entire tour was extremely well organized, and the agency’s personnel were outstanding. The requirements for our tour were extremely complicated, yet Mr. Şen and the agency handled the arrangements perfectly. Our trip was a four-week Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad educational seminar for 12 teachers and 2 university trip ...

Our party just got back to the USA yesterday from our trip to Turkey and Greece. Sorry I could not respond earlier, but I did not have my laptop computer with me. Let me say that our party of 13 people had a wonderful time in Istanbul and in Ephesus. The arrangements made for us by FEST were perfect. We saw all of the key features and everything went off like clockwork. I want to give a special complement to the two guides you provided to us, Mr. Serhan Gungor in Istanbul and Ms. Deniz Harput in Ephesus. Both were very professional, punctual and ...

It was a pleasure to meet you at our farewell dinner in Istanbul last week, I so appreciate you providing us an opportunity to "weigh in" with our impressions and thoughts about our extraordinary Turkey trip. Superlatives abound regarding every aspect and every detail of our tour. The itinerary was very well balanced, it was both intellectually and aesthetically stimulating and rich with a sultan's banquet table of unexpected delights, historically, culturally, politically, socially and recreationally. The accommodations were delightful and well selected for each stop...

6 Last-Minute Travel Tips for the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse

I n less than a month, people will look to the sky as the moon passes between the sun and the Earth in a celestial event known as a total solar eclipse . The phenomenon is set for April 8, 2024, and the next one that can be seen from contiguous United States will be August 2044 , so it's unsurprising that eclipse fever has gripped the nation. Between 1 and 4 million people are predicted to travel to the path of totality, joining the 31 million people already living within it.

Among the tours, cruises, hotels, and even scenic flights offering their own spin on the total solar eclipse experience, here are six tips that last-minute planners should keep in mind for the special day.

1. Figure out where you want to go

There are 13 U.S. states on the path of this year's eclipse: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine (small parts of Tennessee and Michigan are also in the path). Among all of these states, totality will occur in two national parks-Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas and Cuyahoga National Park in Ohio-and they're expected to get crowded. Instead, consider one of the more than 100 state parks along the path, some of which are more off the radar. If you're more of a city dweller, you can also experience totality in big cities, including San Antonio, Austin, Cleveland, and Rochester.

Consider the weather, too. According to NOAA 's past weather records, April weather seems to bring more chances of rain-meaning more potential for cloud coverage-in the Northeast than in the South.

2. Consider the length of totality

Aiming for a destination in the path of totality is a no-brainer, although the amount of totality you'll get depends on where you go. The closer to the center of the path of totality an area is, the longer the total eclipse lasts. Take Austin and Dallas: While both are on the path of totality, Austin will get 1 minute and 46 seconds of totality, while Dallas will get 3 minutes and 52 seconds of totality. The longest duration you can get for totality is about 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Particularly traveler-friendly spots to maximize your time in the dark are Texas Hill Country towns like Kerrville (which will receive around 4 minutes and 24 seconds of totality and is partnering with NASA) and Fredericksburg (which is set to get 4 minutes 23 seconds of totality). Texas Hill Country is also one of AFAR's best places to go in 2024 .

3. Consider camping

If you want a solar eclipse experience surrounded by nature rather than people, camping may suit you better. But booking developed campgrounds at state parks and well-known nature spots will likely be difficult at this point. As an alternative, check for privately owned land through platforms like Hipcamp or look for dispersed camping sites in a national forest, like Ozark National Forest or Green Mountain National Forest . While backcountry spots may not have amenities, they can be perfect for those seeking solitude.

In addition, be sure to check the capacity of a park when it comes to handling the influx of visitors for April 8. As an example, Erie's tourism board is discouraging visits to Presque Isle State Park to prevent bottleneck traffic from its one entry and exit point.

4. Look into a town, festival, or last-minute tour

Plenty of places within the path of totality are putting their own spin on the solar eclipse with dedicated festivities. Get an educational experience at Rochester Museum & Science Center's ROC the Eclipse Festival , a three-day event that includes talks titled "Frontiers of Plasma Physics" and "The Search for Earth-Like Planets" from science experts. Or lean into grandeur at the four-day Texas Eclipse Festival in Burnet, Texas; its lineup includes music performances, yoga sessions, and immersive art experiences. (If you're heading to Texas for the eclipse event in general, check out this interactive map of special activities happening across the state.)

If the mere thought of navigating trip logistics brings a headache, check for the availability of some solar eclipse tours. Some tours still have availability, like Holland America Line's whopping 22-day Solar Eclipse cruise tour through North America. Others, like Travel Quest's Mexico's Copper Canyon Total Solar Eclipse tour , only have wait-list spots. But don't give up hope: As last-minute cancellations roll in, a quick call could secure you a place.

5. Try to get a last-minute spot at hotels in the path of totality

Hotels are leaning into the solar eclipse experience too, and properties are throwing celebrations and dedicated solar eclipse events just for the event. Miraval Austin Resort and Spa is hosting a viewing session with its astrologer, while Hôtel Swexan in Dallas is offering solar eclipse wellness activities on the evening of April 8 that includes meditation, a sound bath, and a Reiki healing session.

Keep in mind that a last-minute booking may cost a premium. Properties all across the band of totality are recording sky-high prices -even budget hotels . Similar to booking tours, do your due diligence and call to check for a cancellation.

6. Come prepared

Of course, you should wear solar eclipse glasses to prevent permanent damage to your eyes. If you're going to an event, check to see if they will be provided or if you'll need to bring your own. If you don't want to buy them, you can use household materials like cardboard to make your own pinhole projector , a contraption that allows you to see the sun change shape as the moon crosses in front of it.

In addition to bringing materials for the day of the event, anticipate what happens next. The length of totality is less than five minutes, but the traffic afterwards may disrupt your plans for hours. If you're coming from a crowded park or city, be on the safe side and come prepared with extra snacks and water.

A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun in total alignment.

Are you traveling for July Fourth? Here's how to beat the travel rush.

Updated on: June 27, 2024 / 6:15 PM EDT / AP

The Fourth of July is right around the corner, and the travel rush is already heating up.

Millions of Americans are preparing to get out of town sometime in the coming holiday week. That will likely mean busy roads, as well as packed airports and train stations.

Motor club AAA projects that some 70.9 million travelers will head 50 miles (80 kilometers) or more from their homes over a nine-day Independence Day travel period — surpassing pre-pandemic numbers for the U.S. holiday. And the Transportation Security Administration expects to screen over 32 million individuals in airports from this Thursday through July 8, up 5.4% from last year's numbers.

  • Here's how to save money on your Fourth of July barbecue

Are you traveling for the Fourth? Here's a rundown of what you need to know.

Smooth sailing for travel around any holiday is never a given. But avoiding the most hectic times, when others are rushing out of town, is a good way to start.

If you're traveling by car for the Fourth of July, it's best to hit the road in the morning, according to transportation data and insights provider INRIX. Peak traffic congestion varies by location, INRIX data published by AAA shows, but the worst times to drive on, or leading up to, the holiday are generally between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Either way, be prepared for the roads to be jammed.

"Road trips over the holiday week could take up to 67% longer than normal," Bob Pishue, transportation analyst at INRIX, said in a prepared statement.

July Fourth falls on a Thursday this year, and many travelers will likely take Friday July 5th off to extend their trip into a four-day weekend. Drivers in large metro areas can expect the biggest delays on Wednesday July 3 and Sunday July 7 — as travelers leave and return to town, Pishue added.

And if you're renting a car ahead of July Fourth, the busiest pickup days will be Friday, Saturday and Wednesday before the holiday, AAA notes.

Airports will also likely be packed all week long — but the TSA expects most people will take to the skies on Friday.

It anticipates that it will screen more than 3 million individuals Friday. That would surpass the agency's current record for most people screened on a single day, which reached just under 3 million last Sunday.

"We expect this summer to be our busiest ever," TSA Administrator David Pekoske said, adding that travel typical peaks around Independence Day.

Last year, the busiest day for Fourth of July air travel was also the Friday ahead of the holiday, TSA data shows. If past trends hold, travel will likely be higher on the days before and after the Fourth — particularly closer to the weekend. In 2023, for example, more than 2 million people were screened on the Fourth, which landed on a Tuesday last year, down from 2.88 million the Friday before.

Flights can be delayed or canceled for an array of reasons — from plane-specific mechanical problems to major storms impacting popular travel paths.

If your flight is canceled, airlines are required to provide refunds for customers, even if the cancellation is due to weather. Delays are trickier, because they typically have to meet certain criteria for relief, such as refunds or compensation — but carriers will often give customers to chance to switch to alternative flights, if available, at no cost.

In April, the Biden administration issued final rules that include requiring airlines to provide automatic cash refunds within a few days for canceled flights and "significant" delays. Those rules are set to take effect over the next two years, but the Department of Transportation has a site that lets consumers see the commitments each airline has made for refunds and covering other expenses when flights are canceled or significantly delayed.

It's better to be stuck at home than locked in hourslong traffic or stranded in an airport terminal. Before heading out the door this holiday week, do yourself a favor and check the status of your travel plans.

Was your flight, train or bus ride delayed? Are there are traffic incidents set to disrupt your drive? And what about the weather? A quick look through your itinerary — such as trip updates on a carrier's website — checking weather forecasts and monitoring traffic safety through services like the 511 hotline or your phone's navigation apps can go a long way toward avoiding travel misery.

Here are a few more tips to keep in mind:

— Leave early: There are more people everywhere during a holiday week, so lines will be longer and roads will be busier. Give yourself more time to get to your destination or to make your way through airport security.

— Keep an eye on the weather — and not just for your destination: Look at the weather for your entire travel path. Even if it's sunny skies both at home and the place you're headed, it's important to keep an eye out for any storms in between. You may need to do some rerouting.

— Be kind: A trip delay or cancellation can be really frustrating — but if you're running into disruptions, chances are others are too. Customer service agents have a lot on their plate at this time of year, and it's important to be patient and respectful as they try to help you.

6 mistakes to avoid at Glastonbury for every festival virgin

Glastonbury Festival stage and crowd

After a week of good weather and great acts, Glastonbury Festival 2024 is ready to go out on a high.

‘Let’s Go Girls’ will soon be ringing in your ears, as you sing (read: scream) along with thousands of festival fans at the most iconic music event in the world.

What a time to be alive.

But if you’re a first-time Glastonbury go-er, there’s no doubt a few nerves bubbling under the surface too.

Follow the latest news from Glastonbury in our 2024 live blog

How much booze should you pack? Should you wear wellies ? And just what will five days without a shower do to your skin?

If things are feeling a little daunting right now, never fear.

We asked Glastonbury veterans to tell us about some of the biggest mistakes people make at Worthy Farm.

Avoid these errors, and your weekend will go off without a hitch.

Don’t forget comfortable shoes

Ideally, bring walking boots or shoes.

The festival site is MASSIVE: 900 acres, more than a mile and a half across, and a perimeter of about eight and a half miles.

It’s roughly the same size as Bristol city centre, and there’s actually a website where you can overlay Glastonbury Festival onto anywhere in the world , giving you an exact size comparison.

Essentially, you’re going to be doing a lot of walking, easily into the ballpark of40,000 steps a day. So, this is not the time to be breaking in your new shoes (leave those box fresh DMs at home).

Take footwear you can rely on – and lots of blister plasters.

Don’t plan too much

‘It’s best not to come to Glastonbury with a head full of preconceptions and a notebook full of plans of what you want to see,’ reads the official website.

‘If there are one or two particular bands a day you really want to see, then let your day revolve around them and go with the flow.’

Glastonbury is so much more than the headliners – there’s a huge amount to see and do and you want to give yourself time to explore, stumble around and be spontaneous.

Try not to be too rigid, and remember you’ll have to factor in walking between stages, the crowds, and queuing for toilets.

Don’t put your wristband on your dominant arm

Look, this isn’t cute, but it’s worth bearing in mind.

The toilet situation will only get more grim as the days go on. If you put that wristband on your dominant arm, it’s going to see the inside of the long drop at some point or another.

There’s a chance some of the material could brush against God knows what or, heaven forbid, fall off.

Essentially, don’t attach your band on the wrist of the hand you use to wipe with. You know it makes sense.

Don’t forget loo roll

While we’re on the subject of the toilet, if there’s one thing you bring to Glastonbury let it be this: toilet roll.

There typically isn’t any stocked in the loos, so bring tissues and/or a roll with you wherever you go.

If you find yourself caught short, you can sometimes nab some from the welfare tents, or there’s a Coop on site.

Don’t bring glass in

You’re allowed to take your own alcohol everywhere with you at Glastonbury, but it can’t be in glass bottles.

Crowds sitting on the fields at Glastonbury Festival 2022

Make sure you decant all your booze at home, and bring enough for the entire weekend: it’ll save you tons of money and means you’re not having to queue up at bars.

That being said, just because you’ve got a pub’s worth of alcohol with you, it doesn’t mean you need to drink it all on the first night. You don’t want to peak too early.

And remember: it’s not just your drinks that come in glass bottles. Leave that expensive perfume at home if you don’t want it confiscated.

Coldplay's Chris Martin performing on stage

Don’t forget a chair

As we’ve already said, you’re going to be on your feet a lot. By Saturday, you’ll start to get sore feet and lower back ache, and your only respite is sitting on the floor.

That’s where a camping chair comes in.
