We typically dock at Avalon Point Marina which is one of the most conveniently located marinas, with respect to the inlet, in all Cape May County, New Jersey. Chartering out of Avalon allows our  NJ Charter Boats  to fish areas not frequented by the Cape May Charter Boats, like the Spencer, Lindenkohl, and Carteret Canyons. Over Under Adventures specializes in Big Game Canyon Tuna and Marlin Fishing. Year round, the crew of LOW PROFILE battles monster tuna and blue marlin up and down the east coast. NJ Tuna fishing is as good as it gets in late August through November. Yellowfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Big Eye Tuna and Longfin Tuna are all caught in the canyons off the NJ coast in the fall. We offer  Avalon Fishing Charters  all summer for vacationing families and kids of all ages.  Flounder Fishing, Back Bay Fishing, Bluefish, Striped Bass, Sea Bass, and Sharks are all great fun for the whole family.  Trips can be as short as  a quick two hour  Stone Harbor Back Bay  Stone Harbor Fishing  trip, or upgrade to our  5 hour half day trip out of Avalon NJ.  No experience necessary and we have several Stone Harbor and Avalon fishing boats to choose from.  Our 19′ Back Bay Fishing Boat, to our 48′ Sportfish and  21′  center consoel are all perfect for a family day out on the water here in  Stone Harbor, Avalon, and  Sea Isle City .  For our  Sea Isle City Fishing Trips , we depart from Sunset Pier on 86th St. and the Bay, Sea Isle City.  You can also enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on the water as well as rent boats for the day.

Shark Fishing Season!

Beginning in Early June we will be fishing offshore for Monster Sharks! Mako Sharks, Threshers, Blue Sharks, and many more are to be had only 30 miles offshore.  NJ Shark Fishing  is usually quite active, but only lasts a few weeks, as the water warms to just the right temperature. The Shark Fishing will begin when the bait (bluefish) move in, and will end, when the water warms in later June and they move offshore. If you want to get out on a great Shark Fishing Charter, June is the time. Give us a shout to set up your NJ Shark Fishing Trip! We also fish the Cape May Shark Tournament. We are available for the Jim’s Shark Tournament the weekend of June 19th and would love to fish it.

The wrecks and other structures offshore of Cape May, NJ and Wildwood, NJ offer up an amazing selection of fish year-round. Our Wreck Special is an all-day trip affording the seasoned crew of the Miss Chris maximum time to dial in on the wrecks. Sea bass, taug, and other species can be found among the wrecks we’ll fish on. Trips have limited capacity at 30 people max. to keep the boat comfortable. We can’t wait to fish with you!

What You'll See & Do

Once you’ve arrived at the harbor, pick up your tickets at the Cape May Whale Watcher Red Ticket Booth and Gift Shop. Once aboard, pick up your rod rental (if applicable) then choose your seat for the day’s trip! We’ll get underway promptly at 8 AM while the captain provides a brief overview of the area, what fish to expect, and the itinerary. Then you sit back and relax while enjoying the brief ride to the fishing grounds. You can sightsee on the way and you may spy some Atlantic bottlenose dolphins , bald eagles , and maybe even a humpback whale .

Wreck fishing is a specialty . It consists of both drift fishing and anchoring on specific “pieces” of structure . Sometimes, conditions change and wrecks can be barren, in such cases, the boat must move and this should not discourage anglers. Moving means the captain has better information for the next wreck. Also, since we are fishing around structures, be prepared to lose weights, rigs, and line. The crew is prepared to assist, but you may want to bring extra gear for the extended day. Each hand-tied rig and weight costs around $3.50 to make and we can sell them to you, but the Miss Chris Tackle shop has an assortment for sale prior to departure at very competitive prices .

During the trip home the crew weighs up the pool and cleans any catch which is of legal size to keep. It is also another opportunity to sightsee. As the original Seaside Resort, the history of Cape May is rich and the Cape May Lighthouse, Cape May Harbor, and the United States Coast Guard Training Center are among the highlights along our route.

• Cape May private fishing charters available upon request ( contact us (opens in a new tab) for more information).
• Arrive 30 minutes prior to departure (60 minutes prior in July and August, and holidays).
• Everything you need to fish is on board the boat. If you are looking for special bait like; live minnows and eels, GULP, special rigs or bucktails, MOJOs, Niners, diamond jigs, and other cutting-edge tackle, see Capt Bob in the Miss Chris Tackle Shop. He’ll let you know what’s working and what will help you go for even bigger fish. Call (609)884-3351 for special baits and other tips from Capt. Bob.
• Rods and reels are $5 to rent on a 4-hour trip. Rods are manufactured by Gull and reels are by Penn and Shimano.
• A fishing license is included for every passenger. We are regulated by the National Marine Fisheries, subject to all federal and State of New Jersey Recreational Saltwater Marine Fisheries Regulations. During the striped bass season, we participate in the NJ Bonus Tag Program for striped bass.
• Open boat trips occur daily but advance purchase is recommended to avoid disappointment. In most cases, purchasing in person on the day of the trip is fine.
• COVID POLICY —there is a federal mask mandate. Masks must be worn in public places whenever within 6 feet of others. If you do not have a mask, we have masks available for $1 each. Please bring a mask and wear it. The boat capacity is reduced to 50% and online booking is recommended to ensure your spot under these conditions
