Glenrowan Tourist Park - Glenrowan VIC

The Glenrowan Tourist Park is located at 2 Old Hume Highway, Glenrowan. The park was previously known as the Glenrowan Bushland Caravan Park and has undergone a complete transformation under the imaginative direction of the new owners. The park has excellent facilities and is clean and modern. It is located in a peaceful bushland setting. The park has 22 powered sites for tourists. The resident owners are Jill and Gary Thayer. The park is pet friendly. The park has been awarded the Caravan Park Photos Gold Award for Excellence in location, facilities and excellent cheerful service provided by Jill and Gary. Bookings can be made by Telephone : 03 5766 2288; or Online : Click Submit Booking Enquiry button on the right. Please let the park know that you have seen their photos on Caravan Park Photos. Photos on this page were taken on 27th September 2009. *** For more information, photos and resources visit the Glenrowan Tourist Park website . The good news for travellers is that the caravan park one price all year round whether holiday time or quiet time. Our sites are $25. Additional people are $10. We are now offering the park to small caravan clubs and if 15 caravans book in they have it all to themselves including camp kitchen and activity room. Any person who stays with us for seven nights get that 7th night free. The park has no permanent stayers and is animal friendly. Some of the photos on this page have been kindly supplied by Shauna Wood of Mt Gambier in SA. Shauna writes: "Great value, wonderful hosts, can’t praise it enough".

I cant wait to take my granchildren there and have an excuse to get into the beautiful pool amongst the gum trees. Just so peaceful with lots to do close by if you chose.
• Sherallee Schubert  of  Gold Coast QLD Wed May 2, 2012 at 10:25 PM Glenrowan is a lovely little town right in the middle of Kelly country. This park is just the right place to stay to soak up the history. Ned Kellys last stand was playedout here in the town, at the Anne Jones inn in June 1880. The siege site is well marked and so is the place of Neds capture. He did not go down without a fight, he suffered no less than 28 gun shot wounds he recieved from the police. The railway station has been re built where Ned was held while the siege ended with the burning of the inn. The bend in the railway line can be seen to the North if you stand on the bridge, this is the site that the tracks were ripped up to derail the police train. There are shops to buy all your Kelly trinkets and they house some interesting artifacts from the kelly era. They also have a great collection of photos. There is also a replica of the Kelly hut that once stood at Greta. The site of the original hut is on private propery and can not be accessed. All that remains is one lonely brick chimney added to the hut after Ned died. The property belongs to Kelly decendants. The Greta cemetery is where Neds mother, two sisters, two brothers and Tom Llloyd are all burried in unmarked graves. Also Steve Hart, Kelly gang member is burried there too.Glenrowan is deffinately worth a visit.
