Guns N’ Roses Are Bringing Stadium Rock Back to Australia
Guns n’ roses are returning to australia this november for their first local tour in five years, ensuring stadium rock in back on the menu., brittany jenke, brittany jenke's most recent stories.

It’s been a long time coming, but just six months out from one of the year’s biggest concert tours, it’s clear that Guns N’ Roses are well and truly bringing stadium rock back to Australia.
Set to kick off in the middle of November, Guns N’ Roses’ forthcoming tour of the country has been in the works for some time. Having last visited the country as part of their ‘Not in This Lifetime…’ tour back in 2017 (which is itself the third highest-grossing concert tour of all time), it’s been a while since the iconic rockers have last showed Aussie fans what it is that makes them so great.
Selling over 350,000 tickets during their last local tour, guitarist Slash promised fans that Guns N’ Roses would return to Australia once again, though no details were specified at the time. Since the tour, the band have been rumoured to be recording a new album , with Slash confirming that new material was being written during a 2019 interview.
Now, the group are on track to ensure that their long-awaited return is a welcome one, with their forthcoming tour set to ensure that not only is stadium rock back on Aussie shores but that it’s here to stay.
Kicking off with a show at Perth’s Optus Stadium on Friday November 18th, the upcoming tour will see the group visit Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast, Sydney’s Accor Stadium Australia, and Adelaide Oval, before concluding the Australian tour at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The group will also travel across the Tasman to New Zealand landing at Sky Stadium in Wellington on December 8 and then Eden Park in Auckland on Saturday December 10.
Easily set to be one of the biggest musical events on the Australian calendar this year, the forthcoming tour also takes place just a few months before the 30th anniversary of one of the most iconic concerts in local history, Guns N’ Roses’ 1993 performance at Melbourne’s Calder Park.
Equally described as being both “notorious” and “the wildest rock gig Australia has seen” , the performance took place at the height of Guns N’ Roses’ fame as one of the biggest bands in the world. Only their second visit to the country, the show found itself becoming somewhat due to reasons beyond the band’s control. Wild weather, overbearing security, high prices, and poor infrastructure meant that the 75,000 fans in attendance at the Victorian speedway were bound to remember those gigs, but not necessarily for the best reasons.
However, close to three decades on, it’s remembered as one of the most famous moments in Australian concert history, with almost everyone in attendance that day happily stating that despite the poor organisation on the day, the band’s blistering performance meant that they wouldn’t trade it for the world .
30 years on though, organisation of gigs is far better, and it’s been quite a while since Guns N’ Roses’ shows have been remembered for little more than the stellar live performance that they put on. Of course, if the group’s 2017 trek to Australia is anything to go by, their forthcoming visit is set to see one of the group’s most enduring and iconic bands still performing at the peak of their powers.
Sure, it might be a few years since they last released an album, but if you need any proof that Guns N’ Roses are still the masters of stadium rock that they always have been, one need only head along to their Aussie tour this November.

The Chats And Cosmic Psychos Join Guns N’ Roses’ 2022 Australian Tour
By Alex Gallagher
After being forced to postpone their original 2021 dates due to the pandemic, Guns N’ Roses will finally make their way here in November for a stadium tour, marking their first Australian shows since 2017’s Not in This Lifetime world tour.
A few months out from the tour, organisers have revealed who’ll be joining GN’R on the road. It’s a pub-punk double bill that brings together one of the genre’s newest exports and one of its most longstanding titans, with both The Chats and Cosmic Psychos announced as special guests for the shows.
The Chats and Cosmic Psychos to Join Guns N’ Roses on Their Australian Tour Dates
When The Chats play stadiums across the country as part of Gunners’ tour, they’ll be fresh from releasing their second album, Get Fucked, and taking it on the road for their own national tour. They’ve shared two singles from the album thus far – ‘Struck By Lightning’ in March and ‘6L GTR’ in May – with the follow-up to 2020’s High Risk Behaviour set to arrive on Friday, 19th August via The Chats’ own Bargain Bin Records.
Australian rock veterans Cosmic Psychos, meanwhile, released 11th studio album Mountain of Piss last year, after previewing it with its title track and ‘Sin Bin’. It’s the fifth album to feature the band’s current lineup, which consists of frontman Ross Knight, guitarist John McKeering and drummer Dean Muller.

Music Legends
Formed in California in 1985, the band’s original line-up included vocalist Axl Rose, guitarist Slash, guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. Their debut marked a significant turning point in the music industry, as they became key players in the evolution of hair metal.
With Axl Rose and his distinctive voice, Slash being an incredible improviser on the electric guitar, their explicit lyrics, and gritty rhythm sections, the band were already well on their way to international stardom with the release of their first album, Appetite For Destruction, in 1987. In total, they sold over 30 million copies worldwide, and it was the best-selling debut album in the United States.
Some of their other albums include Chinese Democracy (2008), The Spaghetti Incident (1993), Use Your Illusion I (1991), and Use Your Illusion II (1991). Their most famous single is ‘Sweet Child O' Mine’. However, they have many other hit songs, including ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, ‘Paradise City’, ‘You Could Be Mine’, and ‘Patience’.
Guns N' Roses have played hundreds of shows during their three-decade-long career, but some of their most memorable performances include their first show together in 1985 at the Troubadour, New York's Ritz in 1988, the 1990's Farm Aid telecast, and Slash playing guitar at MTV's 10th anniversary special performance with Michael Jackson in 1991.
True music legends, Guns N' Roses have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling bands in history. They were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2012.
Undoubtedly, there will never be a band like Guns N' Roses. Their unique style was only mirrored by their dangerous personal lives. They walked the razor-thin edge of a typical rock-and-roll lifestyle, and their live performances gave a small insight into their wild approach to life.

Guns N’ Roses’ 2022 Australian Tour to Receive Financial Government Support
It's not unusual for bands to have commercial sponsorship for their tour, but as Guns N' Roses plan to hit the road for dates in Australia late next year, they'll receive an assist from Australia's government.
According to NME , the band's tour is being presented by concert promoters TEG Dainty. The company is one of 63 entities within Australia that will benefit from the government's RISE (Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand) program, helping businesses get back on their feet and help stimulate the economy that's been damaged by pandemic shutdowns of the last year-plus. This funding is the sixth such stimulus guided toward businesses in need since the start of the pandemic in Australia.
Guns N' Roses had been scheduled to play Australia, taking part in an arena tour that has been pushed back to November 2022 due to the pandemic. The $600,000 awarded to TEG Dainty is expected to help the concert promoter reschedule the run that was initially set to take place last month.
CEO Paul Dainty stated that his company had "worked for months" with the state government to try to make the tour feasible for this year, but were unable to proceed.
“It has taken time to finalize a plan where we could be confident of completing a national tour of Australia next year,” he said. “This will be the biggest stadium rock tour of summer 2022 with hundreds of people on the road, a massive production and logistics involved.”
As NME points out, the Guns N' Roses run was not the only music run to benefit from the RISE program financial aid, with several other concert promoters receiving financial backing to put on music festivals in Australia and additional artists getting backing to tour Australia in the coming year.
While the financial assistance should help in stimulating the economy, it has not come without criticism. Shadow Arts Minister Tony Burke singled out the Guns N' Roses tour when questioning where the money was being directed.

Guns N’ Roses Axl Rose launches own website – leaving fans wondering what’s coming
"Maybe he’s getting into the wine business. Axl Rose Rosé," joked one fan
Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has launched his own website , leaving fans to wonder what’s coming.

There has been no explanation from Rose as to what his new website is for or what it means when it comes to the legendary rock band. The landing page of the site features draggable photos of Rose, video clips in the background, his autograph and the quote: “You gotta live to learn and run, or you’ll die trying.”
The site’s about page reads: “Unmistakeable vocal style, he has carved out a legendary status in the rock history,” alongside a brief biography of Rose’s life and career with Guns N’ Roses. The news tab features articles about the band’s 2023 single ‘The General’ and the gallery tab is home to a plethora of photos of Rose performing on stage.

Fans have taken to Reddit to share their theories of what the singer may be up to with the launch of the site.
There are many fans convinced Rose may be releasing a memoir of sorts, with one user writing, “My fingers are crossed for either a book or some solo material” while another shared: “There better be some book or solo projects…at the very least, this site better get updated.”
Another fan wrote: “Dude, I need him to be writing a book. There is so much I don’t know about him. I’m sure the book would include so many answers to all of our questions.”

Elsewhere, a fan joked that the ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ singer may be dipping his toes into the world of wines saying “Maybe he’s getting into the wine business. Axl Rose Rosé,” with another fan responding: “That would be an appropriate business for him. Releasing a product that was actually created 20 years ago and stored in a dark room until now.”
Guns N’ Roses are currently on a tour hiatus as the band do not have any live dates booked for 2024. This marks the first year that the band won’t perform since Slash and Duff McKagan rejoined in 2016.
Slash is currently on tour with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, and is set to release his blues covers album ‘ Orgy of the Damned ‘ next month. McKagan, on the other hand, is set to embark on a UK and European tour in support of his latest solo album ‘Lighthouse’.
In other news, Rose recently filed a motion to dismiss the sexual assault lawsuit that was made against him in late 2023 .

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:
From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.
At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.
According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.
The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.
Coffee Ring
The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.
Zodiac Metro
According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.
Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.
Paleontological finds
Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations
By Claudia Looi 2 Comments
Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.
Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.
Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.
The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean
To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow. Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.
The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:
1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.
2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

6. Novoslobodskaya Metro Station was built in 1952. It has 32 stained glass murals with brass borders.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

8. Mayakovskaya Metro Station built in 1938. It was named after Russian poet Vladmir Mayakovsky. This is one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world with 34 mosaics painted by Alexander Deyneka.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.
10. Teatralnaya Metro Station (Theatre Metro Station) is located near the Bolshoi Theatre.
