Transfer Admissions

You’re a Cyclone in the making

We’re excited that you’re planning to transfer to Iowa State! In Iowa State’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS), you’ll find everything you need to unearth all your potential. Please contact our LAS advising office for information about your degree program requirements. Students are eligible to transfer from an accredited two-or four-year institution. The Office of Admissions , and your academic department or area of interest, can also help guide you concerning your transfer credit evaluation.

Articulation/transfer agreements

Successful completion of an Associate of Arts (AA) degree at any Iowa, Illinois or Minnesota Community College allows students to transfer with junior level status, having met all first-year and sophomore level general education requirements for programs in the Iowa State University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.* With the variation of AA requirements across the states, careful planning with an academic advisor is strongly recommended in order to fulfill requirements. In some cases an AS degree may be more desirable.

*Liberal Arts and Sciences programs will require specific numbers of credits in humanities and in natural sciences (work with your ISU admissions counselor for details)

Transfer Student FAQs

What are the admission requirements for the college of engineering.

Transfer students meeting acceptance standards for Iowa State University can immediately begin studies in engineering — there is not a separate admission process. Generally, transfer admission requirements include a transfer GPA of 2.25 or higher and a minimum of 24 academic credits. For more details on Iowa State admission requirements and process, visit our ISU Admissions webpage .

Can I transfer in either a fall or spring semester?

Yes, transfer students can enter at the start of a fall, spring or even summer term. The majority of students transfer in fall semesters.

I do not have SAT or ACT scores. Do I need to have them in order to apply for admission to Iowa State as a transfer student?

No, transfer students are not required to have these scores. Transfer admission is based on transfer GPA and number of transferable academic credits.

Will I need to provide high school transcripts to Iowa State for my application as a transfer student?

Not during the application process (high school transcripts are not required for transfer admission). However, we may need your high school transcript simply to confirm that you have met the College of Engineering’s foreign language requirement. If you completed at least two years of a single language in high school, that meets our requirement and we will need your official high school transcript sent to Iowa State for confirmation.

I have taken some college classes during my time as a high school student. Should I apply as a first-year or a transfer student?

Students applying for admission directly after high school (with or without college credits, regardless of how many credits) should apply as a first-year student. Students who have left high school and then attended a semester or more of college elsewhere should apply as a transfer student. (Classes taken the summer after high school graduation do not count as a college semester.)

Can I delay or change my admission entry term after being accepted?

Yes, by contacting [email protected] , students may request an entry term change within one year.

Is transfer student orientation mandatory?

Yes. Orientation is very useful in gathering helpful information as you begin your studies at Iowa State University. Transfer student orientation is a one-day program offered on campus as well as online. Orientation must be completed in order to register for classes.

Do I need to have an associate’s degree before I transfer?

No, an associate’s degree is not required. Students may transfer with as few as 24 academic credits or any time following. Iowa State accepts up to 65 transfer credits from two-year institutions and an unlimited number from four-year institutions.

Is there an admission application deadline for transfer students?

Iowa State has a rolling admission process, so there is no firm deadline. It is important to note that there are deadlines for scholarship opportunities and advantages in housing options — both of which would encourage application for admission 6-12 months prior to your entry term’s start date. See our Transfer Application Checklist for more details.

Transfer Credits

How many credits can be transferred into my major.

Iowa State accepts up to 65 transfer credits from two-year institutions and an unlimited number from four-year institutions. Each course is individually reviewed by the College of Engineering to determine how many transfer credits can be applied to a specific engineering degree. The College of Engineering will only apply applicable transfer credits completed with a grade of C or better.

Is there a limit on the number of online college courses that I can transfer to Iowa State?

Delivery method does not affect the general transfer credit limit — up to 65 credits from two-year institutions and an unlimited number of credits from four-year institutions.

Are courses with a grade option P/NP (Pass/No Pass) or S/U (Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory) accepted as transfer credits at Iowa State?

Courses required for your engineering degree must have a letter grade of “C” or better — P/NP and S/U courses are not applied to engineering degree programs. EXCEPTION: due to COVID-19 disruptions, the spring 2020 semester is the exception to this rule, and applicable P (passed) courses from the spring 2020 semester can be accepted and applied.

Can I receive an evaluation of my transfer credits before I am admitted?

At the time you apply for admission, all official transcripts from previously-attended colleges/universities must also be submitted. Iowa State reviews transcripts upon receipt and creates your official Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) within 2-3 weeks of receipt. The official TCE will then be available to view in the student portal, AccessPlus.

How do I receive credit if I completed coursework outside the United States?

Official transcripts must be submitted from all previously-attended institutions, domestic or international.

What happens if I want to transfer credit from a class that does not have an equivalent at Iowa State?

If you believe your prior course covered the material in an Iowa State course, you can work with your academic advisor early in your first semester to petition that the course be considered as a substitution. Additional materials may be required for this process (e.g., course syllabus).

My transfer course in physics (or chemistry) did not include a lab portion. Will my course credit still count toward my engineering degree program?

If your previously completed course does not transfer in to meet Iowa State’s lab component, you can complete the lab at Iowa State without repeating the lecture (if full course/lecture credit was transferred).

Can I take online classes or summer classes at another college after I am enrolled at Iowa State?

Yes. Keep in mind the 65-credit limit from two-year institutions. Be sure to have an official transcript sent to Iowa State after you complete any college course.

If I use TRANSIT do I still need to submit transcripts to Iowa State University when I apply for admission?

Yes, all official transcripts are required to be sent directly from each previously attended college/university. TRANSIT is an unofficial review of transfer credits.

Can I graduate in two years after I transfer?

Each incoming transfer student’s academic record is unique. The ability to graduate in two years after transfer is based entirely on the classes/credits completed prior to transfer and the requirements remaining in the engineering degree program.

Does Iowa State offer merit-based scholarships to transfer students?

Yes. Find details on our engineering transfer student scholarships webpage and the Financial Aid Office website .

Student Life

Do engineering transfer students tend to notice a work-load difference compared to their previous college/university.

This varies for each individual and the previous schools’ academic rigor. Many transfer students are entering higher level course work more specific to the engineering major; these classes can be more challenging and require more work.

How can I get involved in student clubs and organizations?

Iowa State University has over 900 student clubs and organizations and over 90 of them are related to engineering. An easy way to connect is through ClubFest, an event held at the beginning of each semester that offers students an opportunity to get to know many of the clubs/organizations. Being involved in one or two clubs/organizations is a great way to get involved on campus and meet other students.

Is it easy to find other transfer students at Iowa State?

Yes! About 20% of the students at Iowa State transferred in from another college/university. Also, many engineering majors require a seminar/class in your first semester that is specific to transfer students.

Where do transfer students usually live when they attend Iowa State?

There are so many options for living on and off campus, and the CyRide bus system (free to students) has routes throughout the City of Ames. Frederiksen Court is a popular on-campus apartment option and there are countless off-campus apartment options as well. For more details about on-campus options, visit the ISU Housing website .

How can I get involved with Iowa State Engineering before my transfer?

If you are an Iowa community college student, consider joining our free Engineering Admission Partnership Program (E-APP) , which connects you with current students, introduces you to student clubs/organizations in more detail, and allows you to utilize our Career Services resources. You will also be assigned your own engineering major-specific academic advisor while still attending your community college.

If you attend college/university outside the state of Iowa, you are welcome to connect through email .

Director’s Letter — April 2024 (End of semester)

iowa state university transfer visit

If you missed Stuart Selber’s talk, “Framing AI for Curriculum Reform,” you may watch it here . Selber’s talk offered useful and responsible ways of thinking about AI in writing classes, and it was the unofficial kickoff to the ISUComm Foundation Courses Redesign Institute, which takes place in June (detailed information can be found here ). If you would like to participate in the Redesign Institute, please fill out this brief application by Friday, April 26. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.

Our final brown bag of the semester is this Wednesday, April 24 at 1:10pm in Ross 212, and we’re going to ask attendees about “glows and grows” (thanks for the terms, Emily Riley !) for ENGL 150, ENGL 250, and the program as a whole. We want to hear what you think is working well and what could use some attention. We will use what we learn to help us refine our plans for the Redesign Institute. If you’re unable to attend the brown bag session, you will get the opportunity to provide feedback about the program in a brief survey. Look for that in your email later this week.

I wish you all a great end to the semester. Thank you for your work!

Why Drew Thelwell transferred to Iowa men's basketball from Morehead State

iowa state university transfer visit

IOWA CITY — Drew Thelwell was visiting Iowa. So was his father. After four seasons at Morehead State, Thelwell entered the transfer portal and was entertaining the possibility of becoming a Hawkeye.

During a recent visit to Iowa City, Thelwell and his father were watching a men’s basketball workout.

That’s when multiple members of the team came over to introduce themselves in person, including Owen Freeman, Brock Harding and Josh Dix.

But a small gesture took Thelwell by surprise. Thelwell's father, who he describes as a “quiet guy," was included in the exchange — those Iowa players taking a brief moment to greet him, too.

“This speaks on their character,” Thelwell told the Register “…And they actually went out of their way to introduce themselves to him, as well. So that meant a lot to me.”

It was a menial interaction but one that was impactful, nonetheless. And it’s emblematic of how the visit to Iowa made Thelwell feel. A sentiment so strong that he decided to become a Hawkeye. On Wednesday, Thelwell officially signed with Iowa, marking the Hawkeyes’ first transfer portal addition this offseason.

“I enjoyed everybody,” Thelwell said of the visit. “Everybody was really friendly to me. The community was great. I just really enjoyed the guys on the team. And the coaches — they wanted me. They wanted me for a long time — like right as I put my name in the portal. I felt at home.”

More: Iowa men’s basketball lands commitment from Morehead State transfer Drew Thelwell

The 6-foot-3 guard immediately gives Iowa an impactful player at a position of need. Two of the Hawkeyes’ recent departures, Tony Perkins and Dasonte Bowen, were primary ball-handlers. Perkins is arguably the biggest loss for Iowa. The veteran guard was often the motor that made Iowa’s offense go last season.

Iowa still has Harding, who showed flashes of potential during his freshman season. And Dix, who made major strides from his freshman to sophomore season. But the addition of Thelwell gives Iowa an experienced guard to complement that rotation.

Thelwell has started 69 career games at the college level. He can impact the game in a variety of ways. Last season, he averaged 10 points, 6.2 assists and three rebounds per game. Obviously, it’s not an exact parallel, but for reference: Thelwell would've been top five in each of those statistical categories for Iowa last season, including his 6.2 assists per game, which would've been above Perkins’ team-high of 4.6.

But those numbers do not entirely encapsulate what Thelwell brings to the table.

“You’re gonna see a winner,” Thelwell said when asked to describe his game. “(I’m) going to do the little things to win. Everything I do doesn’t show up in the stat sheet, whether I’m talking to the big on what he has to do or helping out the wing or just diving on the ball.”

Thelwell's description as a winner does indeed check out.

He is the winningest player in Morehead State program history. The Eagles won at least 22 games in each of Thelwell’s four seasons. Morehead State made the NCAA Tournament twice during his time with the program. The most recent came in the form of a 26-win campaign, before falling to Illinois in the Round of 64 in March.

That is valuable in regards to how he can fit in at Iowa.

“Being a point guard, being a leader,” Thelwell said. “Using my voice. I’ve been around the game for a good amount of time now and I have experience. And I know how to win. I’ve won a lot of games in my college career.”

More: Leistikow: In-depth with Patrick McCaffery on his decision to leave Iowa men's basketball

That type of knowledge is even more crucial when taking into account how Iowa’s roster is built.

Four freshmen were part of Iowa’s regular rotation last season. A sophomore was one of the Hawkeyes’ best players by season's end. That entire group will be older by the time the 2024-25 season is tipped. But adding someone like Thelwell into the fold, who will be entering his fifth season of college basketball with a winning pedigree, provides important ingredients to the returning core.

“Every possession matters,” Thelwell said of important aspects of winning. “Every shot attempt means something. There’s not really a shot you can take to where you can say, ‘Ah, that one didn’t matter at that moment.’ And especially in crunch time. Those last five minutes, where it’s crucial.”

That last sentence is especially relevant to Iowa.

Far too often last season did Iowa fold late in games — Maryland (twice), Indiana, Illinois and Penn State. It wasn’t like Iowa didn’t pull out wins in those types of contests at all . Rather, it’s just that they didn’t do so with the frequency needed. That was part of the reason the Hawkeyes missed the NCAA Tournament.

In the pursuit to get back to the Big Dance, there is still more to figure out this offseason. One of the key dominoes to the outlook of Iowa's 2024-25 season is Payton Sandfort, who is currently going through the NBA Draft process. He has until May 29 to decide whether he is pursuing a professional career or returning to college. Either way, Iowa still has at least two scholarships open, meaning it can continue to work in the transfer portal.

But Thelwell is a good start.

Asked if there was anything else he wanted to add, Thelwell's answer already seemed to fit right into the Iowa culture.

“Uh," he said before pausing, "Caitlin Clark is the G.O.A.T."

He then added about the program he is actually set to play for: “I just want to win. I’m ready to win.”

Villanova transfer guard lucy olsen visiting iowa women's basketball on tuesday, share this article.

Iowa is taking a another step toward landing one of the top stars in the transfer portal. After reports surfaced last week that the Hawkeyes had interest in Villanova point guard Lucy Olsen, Edwin Arocho of Prep Girls Hoops reported Iowa has an official visit scheduled with Olsen on Tuesday.

Olsen, a 5-foot-9 guard from Collegeville, Pennsylvania, entered the transfer portal on Tuesday. Hawkeye Insider’s Sean Bock reported Iowa’s interest in Olsen on Wednesday . This latest news supports Arocho’s prior report that Iowa was among the list of schools that have made the hardest push for Olsen out of the transfer portal.

According to Arocho, Iowa is joined by LSU , Maryland, Michigan , Tennessee and West Virginia in recruiting Olsen the hardest out of the transfer portal.

BREAKING: Sources tell me Villanova transfer Lucy Olsen will be taking visits to Maryland on Monday and Iowa on Tuesday. pic.twitter.com/T3InaqK0A8 — E J 🏀 (@EJayArrow) April 13, 2024

Olsen was the No. 3 scorer in women’s college basketball last season, averaging 23.3 points per game. The junior shot 43.8% from the field, 29.4% from 3-point range and 80.7% from the line. Olsen also averaged 4.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game.

For the Hawkeyes, Olsen is the type of player who can help them compete next season. Nobody should be expected to step in and be Caitlin Clark, but Olsen is a fantastic player who can help lead the next generation of Hawkeyes.

While Iowa loses some high-impact players outside of Clark, there are some exciting prospects within the program. Olsen would be the best reliable star for Iowa to count on while some of their younger players progress.

College football transfer portal live updates: Spring commitments, latest moves, analysis

iowa state university transfer visit

Best available: Players to watch so far this spring

The 2023-24 transfer portal cycle is on pace to be another record-setting one, with 2,300 scholarship college football players already in the portal at the FBS level. So far, more than 1,400 have announced commitments as the 14-day spring transfer window continues from April 16-30.

Which big names do you need to know ahead of the portal deadline? In an effort to help you keep track of who’s going where and which top transfers are still on the market, The Athletic ranks the best available players in the portal.

Tackle Marcus Bryant picks Missouri

Missouri has landed a commitment from SMU transfer tackle Marcus Bryant. The 30-game starter was one of the more coveted veteran linemen in the spring portal window and chose the Tigers over Washington, TCU and Mississippi State.

He's a 6-foot-8, 318-pound left tackle who earned first-team All-AAC honors last season for the conference champs and has played more than 2,300 career snaps. Bryant was No. 11 in our most recent best available rankings.

Penn State transfer wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith has committed to Auburn, he announced Wednesday.

Lambert-Smith, a 38-game starter who led the Nittany Lions in receiving last season, entered the transfer portal on April 15 and chose the Tigers over Texas A&M for his final season of eligibility.

The 6-foot-1, 184-pound senior emerged as Penn State’s No. 1 receiver last season and led the team with 53 receptions for 673 yards and four touchdowns to earn honorable mention All-Big Ten honors. His 38 career starts would have been the most among all returning Big Ten receivers entering 2024.

Georgia is evidently losing defensive lineman Christen Miller, who posted "thank you UGA for everything" amid an On3Sports report he is entering the portal. This would be a surprise loss for Georgia, which was counting on more snaps from Miller this season, his third with the team.

Miller played in every game as a reserve last year, making four tackles for loss, and 14 total tackles. It would be the third portal entry this spring window, with running back Andrew Paul and receiver Tyler Williams. Georgia appears close to adding quarterback Jaden Rashada from Arizona State, who is on a visit to Athens this week, probably to finalize his decision.

DJ Waller enters portal from Michigan

Michigan cornerback DJ Waller, a three-star prospect from the Class of 2023, has entered the transfer portal. He had been battling Jyaire Hill for a starting job opposite Will Johnson. It’s a bit of a surprise given the possibility for playing time, but Hill had a good spring and might have won the job anyway.

Kennington Smith III

Alabama center James Brockermeyer enters portal

Alabama football had it's second transfer portal entry on Wednesday afternoon when center James Brockermeyer entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer. This comes one day after defensive lineman Khurtis Perry announced he was entering the transfer portal on Tuesday. Brockermeyer emerged as a leading candidate for starting center after carrying the bulk of the first team reps throughout spring practice. The redshirt junior spent the past three seasons with the Crimson Tide in a reserve role but he started at center for the A-Day spring game. Additionally, Brockermeyer entered the portal with a "do not contact" tag, signaling he's likely knows his next destination.

Brockermeyer was competing with Washington transfer Parker Brailsford who followed new coach Kalen DeBoer from Seattle. Brailsford, an All-Pac 12 selection last season missed a good portion of the spring due to "non-football related things" according to DeBoer. Brailsford's absence is not discipline or injury related and while he did not participate in the A-Day game, the expectation is that he will return at some point.

"He's never done anything wrong," DeBoer said of Brailsford. "It's nothing like that. It's working hard and he's gonna be ready to go here sooner than later. Just taking it day-by-day. He's gonna be here with us. It's not a transfer thing. It's nothing like that. Just want to make sure I'm clear. It's nothing on his end where he's done anything wrong or anything like that."

In the meantime, Brockermeyer's departure puts the center position back into focus as a leading storyline entering the summer period. Behind Brailsford, Alabama doesn't have a player with in-game snapping experience. Redshirt freshman Roq Montgomery and true freshman Joseph Ionata got some playing time with the second and third team at center during A-Day. The Crimson Tide have addressed a few question marks via the spring portal in offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, kicker Graham Nicholson and are set to host Arizona State defensive back Ed Woods this weekend. Now, the center position becomes a need for a veteran to provide some insurance in the middle of the offensive line.

Colorado's Dylan Edwards enters portal

Colorado running back Dylan Edwards has entered the NCAA transfer portal after one season with the Buffaloes, The Athletic has learned.

Edwards emerged as one of the team’s most talented offensive playmakers with a breakout performance at TCU in his college debut, producing 177 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns in the 45-42 upset victory and breaking school records for receiving yards and receiving touchdowns by a running back.

Another loss for Spartans

Michigan State defensive lineman Bai Jobe has entered the transfer portal. Jobe was the Spartans' highest-rated signee in 2023 as the No. 54 overall recruit in his class and played in one game during his redshirt season.

Jobe is the ninth member of the Spartans' signing class to enter the portal since the firing of coach Mel Tucker last season. Fellow defensive lineman Andrew Depaepe, a four-star signee, hit the portal earlier this week. Jobe, a native of Senegal who became the No. 1 ranked recruit in the state of Oklahoma, has four more seasons of eligibility and should pick up some good offers.

Bryce Foster leaving Texas A&M

Texas A&M starting center Bryce Foster has entered the transfer portal after three seasons with the Aggies.

Foster, a former top-100 recruit, started 28 games for the Aggies and earned Freshman All-America honors in 2021. He throws the shot put for Texas A&M's track and field program and decided to focus on that sport this spring instead of going through spring practice under new coach Mike Elko.

The Aggies picked up a commitment from Utah transfer center Kolinu'u Faaiu last week and could move left guard Mark Nabou to that spot after he started 12 games last season.

Mississippi State QB Mike Wright back in portal

Mississippi State QB Mike Wright back in portal

Mississippi State QB Mike Wright is back in the transfer portal after one season in Starkville. Wright started three games last year and accounted for 777 total yards and six touchdowns but is moving on after new coach Jeff Lebby brought in Baylor transfer Blake Shapen to compete with Chris Parson this offseason.

Wright has made 14 career starts between his time at Vanderbilt and Mississippi State, which makes him the most experienced Power 5 quarterback who has entered the portal this month ahead of UCLA's Collin Schlee (13 career starts), UCF's Timmy McClain (12), Iowa's Deacon Hill (nine), Northwestern's Brendan Sullivan (eight), Pitt's Christian Veilleux (five) and Miami's Jacurri Brown (three).

DL Tyler Baron back on the market

Louisville DL Tyler Baron has re-entered the portal as a grad transfer. Baron, a 19-game starter at Tennessee, was one of the top edge defenders in the portal in December and initially committed to Ole Miss before flipping to Louisville. After going through spring with the Cardinals, Baron is now back on the market. This one has been rumored for a few weeks. Louisville has now lost four scholarship transfers it brought in for January.

Mitch Sherman

Nebraska makes a portal move

Nebraska makes its first portal move of the spring in landing linebacker Vince Genatone from Montana. He spent two seasons with the Grizzlies after a decorated prep career in North Platte, Neb. Notably, Genatone clocked a sub-10.5-second 100-meter dash at 220 pounds.

Manny Navarro

Miami's Jayden Wayne enters portal

Miami second-year edge rusher Jayden Wayne, a top-100 recruit in the 2023 cycle, has announced he’s entering the transfer portal. Wayne started one game last season and was expected to be a rotation player this coming season.

Miami has had eight players leave the program since the start of the spring. The most notable are starting defensive tackle Jared Harrison-Hunte , a sixth-year senior with 22 career starts, and leading rusher Henry Parrish Jr. , who returned to Ole Miss.

The Hurricanes picked up two defensive tackle transfers with plenty of starting experience in December in C.J. Clark (N.C. State) and Marley Cook (Middle Tennessee State) and signed seven defensive linemen in the 2024 class, headlined by five-star Justin Scott from Chicago.

Terrance Brooks leaving Texas

Terrance Brooks leaving Texas

Texas cornerback Terrance Brooks has announced he's entering the transfer portal. That's a little bit of a surprise. Brooks started 13 games as a true sophomore for the Longhorns last season and grabbed three interceptions. If the former top-100 recruit does depart, what does Texas do about the starting spot opposite Malik Muhammad? All-Big 12 defensive back Jahdae Barron could move over there. I could see the Longhorns making a run at Arizona's Tacario Davis, the top cornerback in the portal, given co-DC Johnny Nansen's ties there.

Scott Dochterman

Big Ten numbers so far

Now halfway through the spring portal period, a total of 354 Big Ten players have entered since early December. Michigan State has the most (40), followed by Indiana (38). Purdue (30) and Washington (29). Penn State has the fewest portal departures (10), followed by Iowa (11) and Northwestern (11).

In other categories, 226 Big Ten transfers have found new homes, 30 withdrew from the portal to return while two left for the NFL. So far, Big Ten schools have added 158 commits through the portal, combining the winter and spring periods.

Michigan State's Derrick Harmon back in portal

Michigan State DL Derrick Harmon has re-entered the transfer portal. Harmon initially put his name in the portal in December and had Oregon, Ohio State and Auburn battling for him but opted to withdraw and stay with the Spartans' new coaching staff. Now the 15-game starter is back on the market and probably knows where he's heading after already taking official visits to all three of those schools.

Wesley Walker re-enters the portal, leaving Louisville

(Sam Upshaw Jr. / USA Today)

Louisville put together one of the most impressive portal hauls in December coming off its run to the ACC title game but just lost a third player from its transfer class with safety Wesley Walker re-entering the portal. Walker was a 10-game starter at Tennessee last season and is now back on the market as a grad transfer. The Cardinals had already lost running back Peny Boone and offensive lineman Reuben Unije to the portal last week, though they may be able to get Boone back on board.

Portal numbers so far

We're officially one week into the spring transfer window. Here are the stats from the first seven days of portal activity:

494 scholarship players entered the portal

  • 25 percent have been repeat transfers
  • 20 percent have been grad transfers
  • 48 percent leaving Power 5 schools, 52 percent leaving G5

The position with the most transfers: defensive line (95).

So far, there have only been 26 commitments from those 494 players. The next few weeks are going to be wild.

Deacon Hill back in the portal

Iowa QB Deacon Hill has re-entered the transfer portal. The former Wisconsin transfer started nine games for the Hawkeyes in 2023 after starter Cade McNamara went down with a torn ACL and threw for 1,152 yards with five TDs and eight interceptions. Iowa finished No. 132 out of 133 nationally in scoring offense but still won 10 games, including six of Hill's starts.
