Purchased Swift Travel, but can not travel . No change in ablity to travel and only sends me back to store when "Unlock Travel" button is pushed. Swift Travel was purchased, but cannnot travel.

Doesn't it just put an item in your inventory that you use to get the Swift Travel option? Like the one you get from the gift box towards the beginning of the game? Maybe you should check your inventory...

Welcome to Midsummer and the Grand Wedding of Arwen and Aragorn! The Midsummer Festival returns every year to The Lord of the Rings Online and offers players the opportunity to celebrate in Minas Tirith and beyond! This guide will get you started with the event and help you get where you need to go. 

How to Get Started 

When the Midsummer Festival is active you will have an auto-bestowed quest available to select from the Quests Available pop-up UI when you log into the game. Completing “The Festival of Midsummer Has Arrived!” grants you a map to Minas Tirith (Midsummer), which is a special instance of Minas Tirith where many of the Midsummer Festival events are available. You can also Swift-travel to Minas Tirith (Midsummer) from many major location Stable-masters across Middle-earth: 

• Beorninghus 
• South Bree 
• Caras Galadhon 
• Michel Delving 
• Minas Tirith 
• Minas Tirith – Main Gate 
• Minas Tirith (Midsummer) - Craftsmen’s Tier, High Stables, Players’ Tier, Sages’ Tier, Soldiers’ Tier 
• Thorin’s Gate 
• Zidir-Nesad, The Steepset (Northern Mattugard) 

It is not possible to directly ride or walk to Minas Tirith (Midsummer). 

When you get to Minas Tirith (Midsummer), speak to Faeleth, located on the main path into Minas Tirith (22.4N, 53.6W), to pick up the wrapper Quests “In Celebration of Midsummer”, “A Fondness for Festivity”, and “The Majesty of Midsummer”. Here’s how they work: 

• In Celebration of Midsummer: Complete 10 Midsummer Festival Quests (Daily).
• A Fondness for Festivity: Complete “In Celebration of Midsummer” three times.
• The Majesty of Midsummer: Complete “A Fondness for Festivity” four times. 
• A Fondness for Festivity has Intro, Intermediate, Advanced, and Final stages, each which offer rewards for completing them. There are twelve days’ worth of “A Fondness for Festivity” and “In Celebration of Midsummer” quests, so plan accordingly! 

There are also Deeds that will be completed as you play the Midsummer Festival event that will earn you unique seasonal rewards! 

A Note About the Wedding 

The actual wedding ceremony between Arwen and Aragorn takes place in a series of quests associated with Volume V, Book 1 of the Epic Story. To get started with Volume V. Book 1: A Time of Celebration speak with King Elessar (Aragorn) outside of the Tower of Ecthelion in Minas Tirith (Midsummer) (22.4N, 56.0W). The wedding ceremony itself takes place in Chapter 7: A Wedding at Midsummer.

Getting Around Minas Tirith (Midsummer) 

Minas Tirith is built in semi-circular levels that tower above the landscape, and navigating between the levels means finding the stairs and ramps that lead you up or down. Additionally, Stablemasters are available to take you to some of the various levels. You can find ramps to levels near the Stable-master on levels that have Stable-masters.

Questing in Minas Tirith

There are several dozen quests available during the Midsummer Event! Here are the NPCs to speak to and their location: 

• A Midsummer’s Welcome – Midsummer Reveller (22.4N, 53.5W)
• Aiding the Stable-hands – Loboris (22.4N, 53.8W)
• Artistic Direction – Borlach of Rimmon (21.4N, 54.4W)
• Growing Pains – Labadar (23.8N, 54.9W)
• Toss a Coin – Ulthir (20.6N, 55.6W)
• Unhelpful Hounds – Worried Woman (24.1N, 55.1W)
• Honoring Healers – Postmaster inside The House of Craft (23.2N, 54.9W)
• Sweet Treats – Ciriel (21.0N, 55.3W)
• Without a Hitch – A Celebratory Snack, Banners for the Newly-wed, A Wedding Favor, and Drinking Horns – Each of these quests require a related Crafting profession to complete. To acquire the quests, speak to Melthend (23.2N, 54.9W)
• Something Misplaced, Something Blue – Dullam inside The Blue Theatre (21.5N, 56.6W)
• Love is in the Air – Colladan inside the Houses of Lore (21.7N, 56.3W)
• A Cure for all Ills – Ioreth inside The High Hall (21.9N, 55.8W)
• Arranging Arrangements – Florist (22.1N, 56.0W)
• Floral Crowns – Florist (22.1N, 56.0W)
• Lightning in a Bottle – Merilien (22.5N, 55.8W)
• Something Floral – Merilien (22.5N, 55.8W)
• Tasty Morsels – Othnoron (22.3N, 55.8W)
• To the Last Drop – Merilien (22.5N, 55.8W) 
• Wedding Supplies – Merilien (22.5N, 55.8W)
• What Ales You – Merilien (22.5N, 55.8W)
• NOTE about getting to The Citadel: The Citadel can be accessed by selecting the High Stables location from the Stable-masters in Minas Tirith (Midsummer), then if facing the High Stables NPC, turn left, move through the long tunnel, then once outside of the tunnel turn around and find a ramp up to your left. From there you will travel up a series of ramps until you get to The Citadel. 

There are also quests that become available after you complete Volume V, Book 1, Chapter 7 of the Epic quest line! The quests you can acquire following completion of Chapter 7 are: 

• A Long-awaited Banquet: A Celebration Without End - Toldir inside the Merethrond Banquet Hall (22.7N, 55.9W)
• These are daily quests and are acquired by speaking to one of the attendees of the banquet.
• Speak with Gimli, Faramir, Frodo, King Aragorn II Elessar, Legolas, Meriadoc Brandybuck. Mithrandir, Peregrin Took, or Samwise Gamgee to select one of the quests. 

Questing Outside of Minas Tirith 

The Midsummer Festival is centered on Minas Tirith, but event-related quests are available throughout Middle-earth, including: 

• All Fired Up – Rona Turner (29.6S, 52.3W)
• Filled to the Brim – Barliman Butterbur in The Prancing Pony (29.6S, 51.3W)
• Coming Home – Gairil (28.2S, 91.9W)
• Cords of Love - Celairel (24.7S, 93.0W)
• Deceptive Invitations – Sneaky Hobbit (29.9S, 71.4W)
• Flowers That Fester – Vinca Pott (30.1S, 71.3W)
• A Midsummer Shine – Skori in Thorin’s Hall in the Thorin’s Hall Inn (accessible through Thorin’s Hall or through the entrance door at 13.8S, 103.3W)
• More Precious than Mithril – Slagin located in The Forging Hall in the northeast section of Thorin’s Hall.

Additionally, The Horse Races in the Bree-fields near the Festival Grounds [24.9S, 52.0W] and the Delving Fields in The Shire [36.3S, 73.2W] are available during the Midsummer Festival! 

Numerous rewards are available in exchange for your Midsummer Festival Tokens! Typical rewards include consumables like Fireworks, Housing decorations, Emotes, pets, mounts, wearable cosmetics, musical instruments, and more! Remember that Midsummer Tokens have a cap of 250 and you will not earn additional Midsummer Tokens until you spend that total down to less than 250, so make sure to pick up your rewards!

Stable-master

Description

A Stable-master is a class of Non-player Character (NPC). Stable-masters are found in all major settlements and in many other locations as well. Characters can travel between locations by renting a mount -- a horse or pony, or in Moria , a goat. Some locations supply more exotic mounts, such as Elk in the Trollshaws , and boars in Gundabad

Renting a mount from a Stable-master is one of the quickest and simplest ways to travel across Middle-earth. All travels can be purchased by silver or Mithril coins.

• Note: The requirement to know stable-masters applies also to the various Writs of Special Passage given as rewards or purchased in the Lotro Store .

Characters can only ride along predefined, shorter or longer routes. One or more stops at stable-masters along the way, to change mounts, may be required for somewhat longer trips. Some routes require a minimum level, reputation , deed, or having started or completed certain quests.

Achieving "Friend" status with regional factions grants a 10 % discount on travel fees within their domain.

It is possible to dismount a rented mount at any point along the route.

Certain Stable-masters are designated "Far-ranging Stables", which means they have direct swift travel routes to many of the major regional centers in addition to more local destinations. They are generally (but not always) marked with a blue icon on your map. Regional maps (click M) have a tab that shows travel routes for the entire land. It is called " Stable-master Collections ". It displays all locations with known and unknown Stable-masters. There it is possible to purchase instant travel for one or more Mithril Coins. This way characters may travel to destinations that otherwise would be very dangerous, likely lethal.

A couple of additional notes:

• Characters travelling via Stable-masters are completely protected from attack by creatures , which can allow for safe travel through dangerous territory
• Stable-master horses explicitly travel on roads, with no exception. Before paying for a shorter travel route, check the road pathways on the map from the current position to the destination; if the only road pathway is a rather long, indirect route it may be faster for the character to simply use its own steed in a direct line.
• Stable-master appearances are changeable, with the game pulling from a pool of random appearances for each region.
• During various Festivals and events, there is a Festival Announcer at Bree 's West Gate offering swift travel to the Festival Grounds . There are also Festival Announcers at Michel Delving , Celondim , and Thorin's Gate stables offering swift travel to the site of the current Festival. At the event site, be it the Treasure Field , Frostbluff or the Festival Grounds , there's another Announcer with swift-travel options to get you back where you came from.
• In Moria there are a number of Stable-helpers who offer one-way travel to a single destination, sometimes requiring the player to be on a specific quests to use them. These can be found in the Foundations of Stone and the Flaming Deeps .

Dock-masters

• In some locations, especially along the river Brandywine and in the Shield Isles , there are special NPCs called Dock-masters . Their travel routes are always of the swift travel variety. They function identically to Stable-masters, but their routes are along water.

All Homesteads

Far-ranging Stable-masters are found in all housing neighbourhoods. They allow access to any Far-ranging Stable destination the character has discovered already and meets the minimum level requirements. All travel is Swift Travel.

Stable-master's Stands are a housing services NPC that can be purchased and placed in the yard of a personal or kinship house. It can provide transport to the following destinations:

How do I unlock "Lothlorien Docks" for travel via my housing item dockmaster?

It seems that none of my characters can use my dockmaster housing item to travel to Lothlorien Docks --that location appears as "undiscovered" for all my chars, no matter their level or how much they did in Lorien. Any advice on how to unlock this destination? Using the writ of passage didn't work for my level 44 character.

A Writ of Passage does not unlock unknown destinations. It allows stable master swift travel to any known destination and any such travel is free while the Writ remains active: https://lotro-wiki.com/wiki/Item:Writ_of_Special_Passage I have looked for the Lothlorien Dock-master but failed to find it. It does not appear on the map for Lothlorien or Inner Caras Galadhon. I used a Mithril Coin to travel there and it dropped me at the docks in Egladil. At those docks there are boats to southern Mirkwood but no dock-master NPC. Perhaps it has not yet been enabled because it's on some list of things to finish, or it's a bug/oversight. Currently it is one-way only and requires the use of a Mithril Coin.

My mariner's Sail to Lothlorien skill takes me to the dock with the boats to Mirkwood. But def no dock master here to take you any further :(

Thanks for the replies. The absence of a dockmaster in Lothlorien is not entirely to the point — there is also not a dockmaster in Harlond, but I *can* travel there via the housing item without using a mithril coin.

I wondered about this as well. I ended up spending 1 mithril coin to go there, and then realizing...... there is no Dockmaster to return! I guess I will file a bug on this....  

But after spending 1 mithril coin, this travel route is permanently unlocked for this character? Or do you have to pay 1 mc every time you want to travel from your dockmaster to Lothlorien?

There is no boatmaster at The Harlond but that destination is unlocked for some of my characters. Only Lothlorien remains unlockable.
