Perak Agrotourism Resort (PATRO)

Perak Agrotourism Resort atau lebih dikenali dengan nama PATRO adalah salah satu pusat pelancongan menarik serta unik di Perak dan lokasinya terletak di Sungai Galah, Tanjung Tualang. Ia adalah hasil diusahakan oleh Kumpulan Perbadanan Pembangunan Pertanian Negeri Perak (PPPNP). Kawasan Sungai Galah ini asalnya adalah kawasan penempatan dan perlombongan yang telah dimajukan sejak zaman penjajahan British di Tanah Melayu lagi. Teknologi perlombongan telah dibawa dari England terutama kapal-kapal korek.

Rumah-rumah pengurus dan pekerja lombong telah dibina di kawasan berdekatan. Apabila harga bijih timah jatuh menjunam, lombong-lombong di kawasan ini mula ditutup dan inilah asal usul kawasan lombong yang kita dapat lihat hari ini dan ia telah dimajukan dengan pembinaan Perak Agrotourism Resort (PATRO).

Kemudahan yang ada di pusat pelancongan ini adalah merupakan satu faktor utama yang menjadi tarikan pelancongan untuk melancong ke negeri Perak kerana ia dilengkapi dengan kelengkapan chalet yang turut menggabungkan persekitaran semulajadi.

Keunikan yang ingin ditonjolkan dan dibangunkan oleh Patro adalah dengan menggabungkan elemen pertanian dan pelancongan di atas kawasan seluas 670 ekar ini memberikan satu kelainan dan keindahan semulajadi yang sukar sekali diperolehi.

Terdapat pelbagai aktiviti yang ada dan ditawarkan di sana buat para pelancong. Antaranya adalah aktiviti sukan lasak seperti ATV, berbasikal dan paintball serta aktiviti sukan air seperti bot kayuh dan kanu.

Selain daripada itu, pengunjung juga berpeluang untuk melihat sendiri tanaman yang dihasilkan disekitar kawasan Perak Agrotourism Resort (PATRO) seperti tanaman cili, tanaman kunyit dan daun kesum, perusahaan madu kelulut dan tidak ketinggalan tempat pemprosesan telur masin.

Mereka yang berkunjung ke sana pasti akan berpuas hati. Apabila datang bercuti ke Perak Agrotourism Resort (PATRO), ianya ibarat meluangkan masa dengan agenda percutian dalam suasana desa yang sebenar seakan-akan kita berada di kampung halaman sendiri.

Selain dengan tanaman mang­ga, Perak Agrotourism Resort (PATRO) juga turut meng­usahakan tanaman seperti kelapa mataq serta produk hiliran iaitu tanaman herba dan u­lam-ulaman sebagai contoh seperti misai kucing, kunyit, rosella, nanas, daun kesum dan penternakan itik telur yang kini mencecah 1,300 ekor serta madu kelulut.

Gabu­ngan elemen pertanian, pelancongan dan keindahan semula jadi yang ada di sini amat sukar untuk diperoleh di tempat lain. Anda tidak akan temui lokasi yang sama seperti Perak Agrotourism Resort (PATRO) di tempat lain.

Tentang penginapan di Perak Agrotourism Resort (PATRO), bayaran akan dikenakan antara RM350 hingga RM1,200 mengikut pakej-pakej yang telah disediakan. Mereka yang tidak ingin bermalam di Perak Agrotourism Resort (PATRO) hanya akan dikenakan bayaran RM15 manakala kanak-kanak separuh harga.

The  Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan   is a clock tower in Teluk Intan, Hilir, Perak, Malaysia. It is the Malaysian version of the world-famous Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. It was built in 1885 by contractor Leong Choon Chong. It stands at 25 meters with 110 steps and originally housed the water tank that supply water in the town area.

Restoran udang galah teluk intan.

If you want something local, try eating at  Restoran Udang Galah. They offer sumptuous local cuisines. Must-try is their udang (freshwater shrimp) in sambal sauce. Don’t expect too much about the place, it’s more of a roadside eatery than a restaurant.

Goreng-Goreng Cafe

Located in Meru, Ipoh, Goreng-Goreng Cafe offers delectable food offerings at very affordable prices. Enjoy delicious food and good music at Goreng-Goreng.

From KL by E1 PLUS highway, take EXIT 135 Gopeng. After toll plaza turn left on T junction heading for Tapah/Kampar, then follow Route 1 for about 11 km until you found a  T junction to Sahom. On the junction you can see a building named Medan Cahaya.  Turn left toward Sahom.

Go about 7 km until you find the sign to Sahom Valley on the right.

From KL Sentral Station take ETS for Ipoh to KTM Kampar Station . After arrived at the station, take a taxi to Sahom Valley. It takes about 20 minute for a journey about 15 km.

The Treasure @ Taman Herba Gopeng: High-Tech Agro-Tourism Hub

The Perak State Herbs Park, which was well-known at one time, is now undergoing a transformation phase to be made a high-tech hub and an agro-tourism destination in the state.

According to the managing director of Proven Optimisation Innovative Solutions Sdn Bhd (POIS), Eidia Erriany Abd Rahman, the park owned by government-linked companies (GLC) and the State Agricultural Development Corporation (SADC) is in the midst of development and repair under POIS’ funding and management.

“The Treasure @ Taman Herba Gopeng is a new name for the herbs park after identification of three main cores, namely education, community development and environmental preservation.

“POIS will retain the original concept of herb planting like before as the main attraction. Realising the importance of herbs in medicine, aromatherapy and cosmetics, also as ulam (traditional salad) and spices, it’ll provide job and business opportunities for the community, simultaneously improving local socio-economic status.

“Various amenities, activities and programmes will be brought into realisation such as education, entrepreneurship and recreational grounds for visitors to have fun with their families during weekends.”

She told reporters  after a CSR contribution presentation programme in conjunction with the Ramadan Al-Mubarak celebration yesterday (March 19).

The project of The Treasure @ Taman Herba Gopeng will undergo three phases of repairs and upgrades which are expected to be completed by 2023. The herbs park will open in June this year should the first phase be completed.

Some of the agencies involved in making a go of The Treasure @ Taman Herba Gopeng include the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), Department of Agriculture, along with a few local universities such as Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP).

POIS is a bumiputera company possessing more than 30 years of experience in sectors of information, communication, technology and green technology. The company is based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Previously, Eidia Erriany presented basic necessities to nine local residents comprising single mothers and poor households.

Norsiah Mohd Radzi, 68, a single mother for 30 years, expressed her gratitude for POIS’ contribution.

“I thank POIS for the contribution which will help lessen the spendings on kitchen and food items with the fasting month around the corner,” Norsiah, who rents at Taman Raia, expressed.
