'PGA Tour 2K23' release date: Price, new features, consoles and more on latest golf video game

2K Sports' golf vertical has produced its latest golf video game, "PGA Tour 2K23", which can be played across multiple platforms and features Tiger Woods as its cover boy. After skipping 2022, 2K has linked Tiger's cover in 2023 to his pal, and the previous front man for this project, Justin Thomas, who graced the cover back in 2021. This year's edition has engendered a lot of excitement -- and a lot of different versions of the game -- as it hits shelves this fall.

Release date

The official release date for "PGA Tour 2K23" Deluxe Edition and PGA Tour 2K23 Tiger Woods Edition is Tuesday, Oct. 11 while the release date for "PGA Tour 2K23 Standard Edition" is Friday, Oct. 14.

Who is the cover athlete?

Tiger Woods is the cover athlete, and he's featured on all three editions of the game.

Price and systems

The game's standard version for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 is $69.99, while a version for Xbox One, PS4 and PC is $59.99. The Deluxe Edition for PS4, PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S is $99.99. The Tiger Woods Edition for PS4, PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S is $119.99.

Three-click swing:  The three-click swing requires you to hold and release the A/X button (depending on your platform of choice) for power, and tap it twice to line up your swing path and club face angle. It's as simple as one, two, three.

Analog swing:  If you're looking for a swing that mirrors a traditional real-life golf movement, the analog swing stick swing should be a good fit for you. To begin the motion, pull straight back on the analog stick and time your push forward as the power meter reaches the sweet spot for a silky smooth shot laced down the fairway.

This edition's courses include East Lake, TPC Twin Cities, TPC Summerlin, TPC Southwind, TPC Scottsdale, TPC San Antonio, TPC Louisiana, TPC Deere Run, Renaissance Club, St. George's, The Country Club, TPC Boston, Riviera Country Club, TPC Sawgrass and Quail Hollow.

You can play this game as Tiger Woods, Rickie Fowler, Brooke Henderson, Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Lydia Ko, Justin Rose, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Lexi Thompson or Will Zalatoris. For gamers looking to bring all the excitement of the PGA Tour into their homes, PGA Tour 2K23 is scheduled to release this month. Multiple versions of the game are available, each with different official release dates. Here’s what we know so far about the  PGA Tour 2K23 release date , including the trailer and gameplay details. 

What is the PGA Tour 2K23 Release Date?

According to the official website, PGA Tour 2K23 Tiger Woods Edition and PGA Tour 2K23 Deluxe Edition will be available on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. For gamers looking to get the PGA Tour 2K23 Standard Edition, they will be able to play starting on Friday, October 14, 2022.

All copies of the game can be pre-ordered from  developer 2K’s official website .

Play as Golf Pros, Including Tiger Woods

Depending on the version of the game that players pick up, they can receive some special extras. These include skins for the player’s golf balls, a custom Tiger Woods outfit, and even a Michael Jordan pack that features Michael as a playable character. 

All versions, however, feature the ability to play as legendary golfers, including Tiger Woods himself, which is the first time this has been possible in a PGA Tour game.

In addition to being able to play as popular golfers, there are over 20 playable courses in PGA Tour 2K23. If players are looking for even more locations to play golf, the game offers the ability for players to create their own golf courses using an intuitive course builder. PGA Tour 2K23 is sure to bring hours of fun to any golf fan.

What Platforms is PGA Tour 2K23 on?

Fans will be able to get their golf fix when PGA Tour 2K23 releases on multiple systems. Players can pick it up starting on October 11, 2022, for the Xbox Series X|S , Xbox One , PlayStation 4 , and PlayStation 5 consoles, as well as PC via Steam .

PGA Tour 2K23 from 2K and HB Studios will look to build on the last title in the PGA Tour 2K franchise and includes new courses, modes, and golfers. When will the next installment of the PGA Tour 2K series go live and be available for golf fans? Let’s go over all details on the release of PGA Tour 2K23.

PGA Tour 2K23 will have two release dates: October 11 and October 14. October 14 will the launch date for those who purchase the standard edition of PGA Tour 2K23. Those who purchase the Tiger Woods or Deluxe Editions will receive three days of early access to PGA Tour 2K23, beginning on October 11.

The Deluxe and Tiger Woods editions not only come with early access but also VC bonuses, as well as customizable clothing and clubs that can be applied to MyPlayer characters.

PGA Tour 2K23 will include a slew of returning and new features. Returning features include Online Societies, online multiplayer, Course Designer, and the aforementioned MyPlayer mode. New features include the addition of new PGA and LPGA golfers, new courses, and casual modes such as Topshot. In Topshot, players will need to hit targets on courses, in order to accrue points.

PGA Tour 2K23 is scheduled to release for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. It is possible that 2K23 will be released on additional platforms in the future, but any further release plans for 2K23 are unknown at this point.

If you want to know when the PGA Tour 2K23 Release Date for Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, PC is, you’ve come to the right place. We are going to show you when PGA Tour 2K23 is coming out, depending on which edition you’ve purchased. Also, we have some less-than-ideal news to deliver to golf fans that play on the Switch. So, without further ado, let’s dive in.

When is PGA Tour 2K23 Coming Out

UPDATE: The release date and time of the PGA Tour 2K23 early access have also been revealed. Those of you that pick up the Tiger Woods edition of the game will get to start on October 10th at midnight local time (at least, that’s the time on consoles). In the States, that’ll be 9 PM PT on October 9th. We don’t know the exact launch time on Steam just yet. Original text follows.

PGA Tour 2K23 is coming out in mid-October, but the exact release date will vary depending on which edition of the game you got on your platform; PC, Xbox, PlayStation and maybe, some day, the Switch. Yes, let’s get the bad news out of the way straight from the jump: there is no officially confirmed launch date for the Nintendo Switch. In fact, there’s been no mention of a Switch version at all. The previous game in the franchise, PGA Tour 2K21, came out on Nintendo’s console on the same day as it did on all other platforms. It was delayed in the EU, but only for about a month. So, yeah, that’s where we stand at time of writing. If anything changes, we’ll update the article.

As for the PGA Tour 2K23 release date on other platforms, aka Xbox, PlayStation and PC, it’s Friday, October 14th. Well, that’s for regular mortals that “only” purchase the standard edition of the game. That will cost you sixty bucks (or seventy, if you get the cross-gen version). On the other hand, those of you that purchase the the deluxe edition (an even hundred dollars) or the Tiger Woods edition (one hundred and twenty dollars), then you’ll be able to start playing on Tuesday, October 11th. Of course, each tier also grants you an increasing amount of bonus in-game items, such as cosmetics and VC. Whether it’s worth the money, well, that’s up to you to decide.

The days are getting colder and the evenings coming sooner. But you can always take to the virtual course on PGA Tour 2K23! As the seasons change, a new one has come into the game, with PGA Tour 2K23 Season 6 launching with new rewards!

There will be some spooky Halloween celebrations, a new collaboration with Bad Birdie, and plenty of rewards on offer! Find out all you need to know about Season 6 in PGA Tour 2K23 below.

PGA Tour 2K23 Season 6 release date

The PGA Tour 2K23 Season 6 release date is October 27 .

Season 6 will last for 11 weeks, taking us through the Christmas period and into the new year!

Season 6 rewards

Bad Birdie apparel and equipment have been brought to the game with Season 6. The Premium and Premium Plus Passes are filled with hats, polos, quarter zips, balls, and more from the brand! It’s time to look funky, with the vibrant styles set to cure your winter blues.

As well as that, the Bad Birdie Challenge will take place from October 27 through to November 5. Play smart, throw darts close to the pin, and try to sink 25 putts for birdie to receive 250 VC, an Uncommon Fitting, and 3x Rare Friction Ball packs.

The Community Drive Challenge will begin on November 1 and end on November 14. Here, you work with your fellow community members to play as many holes as possible and hit long drives to earn rewards. The rewards include Rare Fittings, a Rare Ball Pack, Epic Fittings, an Epic Ball Pack, a Legendary Fitting, and 250 VC. To receive the final reward (Legendary Fitting), you’ll need to rack up 900,000,000 yards.

Finally, the Divot Derby Challenge comes on November 10, ending on November 30. You can earn a Rare Fitting by playing 20,000 rounds as a community, an Epic Ball Pack for playing 10 rounds, and 250 VC for the 100 players with the most wins.

PGA TOUR 2K23 will include 20 licensed courses at launch. New additions include the South Course of Wilmington Country Club, The Renaissance Club, St. George’s Golf and Country Club and more. The industry-leading Course Designer also returns, offering players the opportunity to build their dream courses and share them with a global online community**. MyPLAYER personalization returns and players can equip their MyPLAYERS just like Tiger with Nike Golf, TaylorMade and Bridgestone Golf apparel and gear. Even more apparel options are available from licensed brands, including Callaway Golf, FootJoy, Malbon Golf, Nike Golf, PUMA, Titleist, TravisMathew and more***. Clubs and balls from brands including Bridgestone Golf, Callaway Golf, COBRA, Mizuno, Odyssey Golf, Scotty Cameron, TaylorMade, Titleist and Wilson are available to deck out players’ golf bags and keep them swinging with swag. In addition to the returning analog stick swing, a three-click swing option is also available for an added level of customization so players can play the way they like. PGA TOUR 2K23 offers new casual modes to help rookies get into the game, while giving seasoned players new challenges and opportunities to work on their skills.
