Covid certificate a must to visit Tirumala temple

Image used for representational purpose only.

TIRUMALA: In the wake of Omicron threat,  the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Friday reiterated that only pilgrims with Covid-19 negative report of the test done 48 hours before their pilgrimage or full vaccination certificate will be allowed to Tirumala for darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

Though the TTD has been implementing the mandatory norm since October 1,  there were several instances when pilgrims without the Covid-19 negative report or full vaccination certificate were sent back at Alipiri checkpost by security and vigilance staff.

In the wake of fresh guidelines from the Centre and the State government to curb the spread of Omicron, the TTD once again appealed to pilgrims not to visit Tirumala without the Covid-19 negative report or full vaccination certificate. The TTD which made the norm mandatory to visit all the temples under its control, urged pilgrims to cooperate with the Devasthanams in its efforts to ensure the safety of temple staff.

Meanwhile, the TTD sold 4.6 lakh Special Entry Darshan (`300) tickets for January online within 65 minutes of releasing the next month quota. On an average, 7,000 darshan tickets were booked per minute. No technical glitches took place during the online sale of January quota of darshan tickets.

Issuance of free online Sarva Darshan tokens put on hold

The TTD allotted 20,000 tickets for the New Year Day.  The daily darshan ticket quota was the same for 10 days from January 13 to 23 in view of Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam. For the remaining 20 days, 12,000 darshan tickets were allotted per day.

The TTD decided not to issue free Sarva Darshan tickets online on Saturday. Normally, free darshan tickets are issued online on the next day of releasing the Special Entry Darshan quota. It is planning to issue Sarva Darshan tickets offline from January. A final decision on the issue will be taken after observing the Covid-19 situation as one of the four Omicron cases in the State was reported from the temple town.

Buoyed by the success of its initiative of allowing devotees hailing from the Below Poverty Line for darshan of Lord Venkateswara during the annual Brahmotsavams, the TTD has decided to implement the same during Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam. It will allow 1,000 people from BPL families per day to have darshan from January 13 to 23.

The History and Legend of Tirumala Venkateswara Temple

The Tirumala Venkateswara Temple has a long and fascinating history and legend. According to the legend, Lord Vishnu , in his previous incarnation as Lord Rama, promised to his devotee, an ape-like being called Hanuman, that he would grant him darshan in his next incarnation as Lord Venkateswara. However, when Lord Vishnu incarnated as Lord Venkateswara, he was cursed by a sage called Bhrigu, who kicked him on his chest, where his consort, Goddess Lakshmi, resides. As a result, Goddess Lakshmi left him and went to the earth. Lord Venkateswara followed her and reached the Tirumala Hills, where he met a cowherd girl called Padmavathi, who was the reincarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. He fell in love with her and married her, but he also had to pay a huge amount of money to her father, the king of the place, as dowry. To pay the debt, he took a loan from Kubera, the god of wealth, and agreed to stay on the Tirumala Hills until he repays the loan. He also asked his devotees to help him in repaying the loan by offering him money and valuables. This is why the devotees offer money and valuables to Lord Venkateswara in the temple.

On the western bank of the Swami Pushkarini is the Sri Varahaswami temple, while on its southern bank is the Sri Venkateswara temple. The wooden-float festival (Teppotsavam) of Lord Sri Venkateswara in the month of February/March and Avabhrudhasnanam or Chakrasnanam during Brahmotsavam takes place in the Pushkarini.

Lord Balaji is the only god who has the idol with a standing posture. Our epics had the information that” How the idols will be?” However, this Idol did not follow some of these conditions. Following that, this idol was There even before the Epics.

 PERPETUAL LIT LAMPS

Infront of the lord’s idol the oil lamps aren’t ever put off nobody knows when they’re being lit up. But they are certainly lit thousands of years ago.

 WORSHIPPED SIX TIMES A DAY

In accordance with the Vaikhanasa traditions, the deity is worshipped six times a day. The six Aradhanas performed for the god are as follows.

  • Ushakala – Before sunrise
  • Prathakala- After sunrise but before noon
  • Madhyanika – At noon
  • Aparahaa – When the sun starts to descend
  • Sandhyakala – Around the sunset
  • Ardharatri – When the horizon is completely dark

DEITY’S IDOL IS NOT IN THE CENTRE

The Idol appears to be standing in the middle from outside of this sanctum, whereas the Idol is slightly toward this Garba Gudi’s right-hand corner.

 GARUDA HILL IN TIRUMALA

The environmental surroundings with this particular temple seem ordinary, however, if you research this, the area becomes interesting.

The temple is located in seven hills. The presiding deity is also referred to as Sapthagirisha or Queen of Seven hills. It is believed the seven hills, also referred to as Saptagiri, represent the seven hoods of Adisesha. The Garuda Hill is one among the seven hills.

Garuda hill

To date, the Garuda Hill at Tirumala is enjoyable to sight. The mountain got its name due to the design of a Garuda (An Eagle). What’s intriguing is that Garuda is known as a part of Lord Venkateshwara.

 GREEN CAMPHOR

The Idol is more durable than any other material. After the application of Green Camphor, that will be called the most durable material that may initiate a crack in virtually on any stone, but the idol of Swami is affected.

CROWBAR AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE TIRUPATI BALAJI TEMPLE

At the Mahadwaram of The temple, On the left side, there is a Crowbar in which Ananthatalwar had struck Lord Venkateshwara Swamy on the chin when Swamy was in childhood avatar to test the Ananthatalwar which oozed blood.  STONE ENGRAVINGS

The Temple has many stone engravings from other judgment administrations of history. There are approximately 1180 engravings out of which 139 belong into the ruling adminstration of Kondoi Veedu, 229 engage in King Krishna Deva Rayar, 147 participate in Sadasiva Rayar, 251 participate in Achchuthan Rayar span, 169 participate in Chalukya Kings judgment period, along with 236 participating in the Chola period.

 RICHEST TEMPLE IN THE WORLD

Tirupati Balaji holds the record to be the wealthiest as well to the most visited temple of India. Supplies are received by the shrine from devotees from jewellery, gold, silver, land deeds, and share transfers, and the offering is approximately 3 million.

SOME OF THE FANTASIES AND REALITY OF TIRUPATI BALAJI TEMPLE

SOME INTERESTING FANTASY AND REALITY  Many people think that idol has nails and hair.  But, that’s false. He was like that for many years. Unlike a human, no biological process happens to an idol.  It was wrong that in the 18th century continuously 12 years, the temple was closed.  There was no single day in history without poojas performed to the lord.  There is a waterfall behind the idol,  removing the flowers after the decoration, they will throw them in that waterfalls, this is wrong that all the flowers are found in Verpedu village which is 20 km away from Tirupati. In fact no waterfalls behind the idol. Where will they throw the flowers if there are no waterfalls? No one should step on those flowers so, and there is a well in the templet hey used to throw in that. The well is full now so that they will throw aside in the TTD garden.  If we hear clearly on the back of the idol, we will get a sea sound.  If we want to listen to the sound of the sea, when you are completely silent close your ears with hands, if you keep close to your ear and if you wait for a movement, you will hear the sea sound.  When will the lord sweat?  Some part of the water goes aside after completion of the Anointment and remains inside. That water gets vaporized due to the heat, and it will have effects on idol and forms like sweat. But that water is not the lord’s sweat.  Milk, flowers, butter, ghee and the things which are used for the pooja, all these will get from the place which is 23 km away from Tirupati  , they will get from a holy place, and the people there would be very pious and devout, and that ladies do not wear blouses there. But there is no place like that which is 23 km distance away. It is just a rumour. Whatever the needs of the lord, the temple management makes that. Or else they will use the devotee’s offerings.  People think the lord Venkateswara’s idol as the goddess’ s Lakshmi idol.  The powerful goddesses anointed on Fridays. In the same way, the lord is also anointed on Friday. So that some think that lord as the goddess, but what the truth means, Maha Lakshmi will be there in the chest place of the lord idol. She will be anointed with turmeric on Friday. Both will be anointed together on Friday. Maha Lakshmi’s appearance is only one part for the lord.

Many devotees believe that their desire will come true when they see the 91/2 f eet statue of the god. Many devotees shared the proof after their desires came true after seeing the lord.

After seeing the god many people come back with positive energy.
