Brilliant concert by the icelandic band. Their stage presence is great and they seem like genuinely nice people. The live string instruments really added to the already great music delivered by the four musicians.
Great synergy between the band and the crowd, it was all around a great concert.
What to say about this band? Such great energy and emotion on stage, the long buildups and climax are just crazy. I saw them for the third time, and it was the best one in a sold-out church with amazing atmosphere in Berlin. They played a special show with a string quartet and keyboard/piano, which made for a really great live performance. Don't miss them!

SÓLSTAFIR Sign With Century Media Records; Band Announces European Tour Dates
March 18, 2024, a month ago
news hard rock heavy metal sólstafir
Legendary Icelanders, Sólstafir, are turning to a new chapter by signing with Century Media Records, who are nothing short of thrilled to welcome their creative force that doesn’t shy away from blending metal, shoegaze, post rock and atmospheric black metal with unique emotional power.
Aðalbjörn Tryggvason (guitar, vocals) comments: “We have been fans for a long time. I have bought half of my death metal collection from them in the 90s. We started our career on a German label and now we are back with one – and we are looking forward to many years to come!”
Sólstafir are currently wrapping up working on a new album that will be out later this year. Come November they will embark on the Nordic Descent Tour 2024 that features a very special lineup.
Sólstafir are no strangers to the music world with their 20+ years of performing across the Globe as they consistently amaze audiences with their hearts on their sleeves from the first note. With a full catalog of truly exceptional timeless hits to perform, as well as some much-anticipated new music, the atmospheric Icelandic rock n’roll sound that is uniquely Sólstafir always delivers to those who bear witness to their epic sets that take you on a journey through the ice and snow, fire and lava and breathtaking soundscapes of their homeland.
Special guests on this tour, are none other than Finland’s own Oranssi Pazuzu, to support their forthcoming album to be released on Nuclear Blast Records, also later this year.
From November 13 - November 24, Hamferð from the Faroe Islands will open the evening with their haunting tales of doom that take the listener on a rollercoaster of emotions. This will be their first tour in support of their latest gem, “Men Guðs hond er sterk”, out March 22 on Metal Blade Records.
From November 26 - December 9, Season of Mist Records artists, Helga, will take over as support. Originally hailing from Dalarna, Sweden Helga's sound conjures visions of forests and nature in a magical blend of heaviness with a subtle dash of prog while combining both the Swedish and English language to the text.
The unique part of this package is that each of these bands sing in their native languages which offers a chance to truly immerse oneself into the music and the performance.
Sólstafir comments on the tour: “We are coming back with long shows, new songs, and old pearls. Ever since we played with Oranssi Pazuzu in Transylvania back in 2012 we have been fans of them, so we are very happy to be taking them on the road with us. Joining us as well, are our friends in Hamferð who we played with in their home country back in 2013. Hamferð will, and the other half will be our newest friends in Helga.

SÓLSTAFIR release bloody new music for ‘Dionysus’
Posted on January 11, 2023
More information about Endless Twilight of Codependent Love
Icelandic post metal band SÓLSTAFIR are proud to release their brand new music video for the track ‘Dionysus’. The song was taken from their latest album ‘Endless Twilight of Codependent Love’ which was released in 2020 via Season of Mist.
The video can now be seen via the official Season of Mist YouTube channel HERE . The link may be freely spread throughout your channels.
‘Dionysus’ was produced and filmed in Reykjavík (IS) between August and October 2021, and edited at the Don’t Panic Films studio in Boston, Massachusetts (USA). While the video was originally shot in 8K, the finished product was scanned in its entirety onto 35mm filmstock for release. At its core, the music video for ‘Dionysus’ is an allegory for the inner-violence and tragedy of substance abuse, and for the struggle with an endless twilight of codependent love, inherent.
SÓLSTAFIR previously announced their trek with KATATONIA, which will head out in January and February 2023 during a co-headline tour of the UK and Europe. A full list of tour dates can be found below.

Sólstafir announces November and December 2024 European Headlining Tour
Aðalbjörn Tryggvason (guitar, vocals) comments: “We have been fans for a long time. I have bought half of my death metal collection from them in the 90s. We started our career on a German label and now we are back with one – and we are looking forward to many years to come”!
Sólstafir are currently wrapping up working on a new album that will be out later this year. The band also announced the “ Nordic Descent Tour 2024 ” – a European headlining tour in November and December 2024.
What sets the Nordic Descent Tour 2024 apart is the celebration of cultural heritage through language, with each band performing in their native tongues, offering audiences a profound emotional and auditory experience. This tour represents more than just concerts; it is a journey through the heart of Northern musical tradition and an invitation to explore the depth of its timeless allure.
As the night wraps in mist and melodies, let the Nordic Descent be your guide to the soul-stirring world of northern soundscapes. This is your opportunity to witness the confluence of landscapes and soundtracks, where every note tells a story, and every silence speaks the language of the fjords and forests.
Sólstafir are no strangers to the music world with their 20+ years of performing across the Globe as they consistently amaze audiences with their hearts on their sleeves from the first note. With a full catalog of truly exceptional timeless hits to perform, as well as some much-anticipated new music, the atmospheric Icelandic rock n’ roll sound that is uniquely Sólstafir always delivers to those who bear witness to their epic sets that take you on a journey through the ice and snow, fire and lava and breathtaking soundscapes of their homeland.
Special guests on this tour, are none other than Finland’s own Oranssi Pazuzu , to support their forthcoming album to be released on Nuclear Blast Records, also later this year.
From November 13th – November 24th, Hamferð from the Faroe Islands will open the evening with their haunting tales of doom that take the listener on a rollercoaster of emotions. This will be their first tour in support of their latest gem, “Men Guðs hond er sterk”, out on March 22nd, 2024, via Metal Blade Records.
From November 26th – December 9th, Season of Mist Records artists Helga will take over as support. Originally hailing from Dalarna, Sweden Helga’s sound conjures visions of forests and nature in a magical blend of heaviness with a subtle dash of prog while combining both the Swedish and English language to the text.
Hamferð will, and the other half will be our newest friends in Helga”.
Oranssi Pazuzu states: “Shapes are forming on the horizon. We have finished oozing our upcoming sixth album and it will manifest itself in the fall of 2024. In order to feast on this, we are psyched to join Sólstafir , Hamferð and Helga on a tour across Europe in November and December”.
Hamferð says: “We are very excited to announce that we are going on tour with Sólstafir and Oranssi Pazuzu this winter! The second half of the tour will feature Helga in our stead”.
“We are hugely excited to be joining Sólstafir and Oranssi Pazuzu on this run of European shows in support of our debut album ‘Wrapped in Mist’! We can’t wait to play this material live on our first European tour alongside such incredible musicians. It’s a big world…”, Helga proclaims , as they prepare for their first tour following their debut release “Wrapped in Mist” on Season of Mist.

A new wave one-stop shop will tour North America this summer when Howard Jones and ABC will be hitting stages across North America with special guest Haircut 100. The full itinerary appears below.
“I’m very excited to be hitting the road with my friends ABC and Haircut 100,” Jones enthused. “Our audiences can look forward to some seriously top tunes night after night! Bring your celebratory selves to the party.”
Popular on Variety
Of course, the evening will play out like an evening filled with hits from the early days of MTV, when the so-called “Second British Invasion” dominated the channel. Jones’ hits “New Song” and “What Is Love,” and “Things Can Only Get Better” probably segued into or out of ABC’s “Look of Love,” “Poison Arrow” and “Be Near Me” and Haircut 100’s “Love Plus One” and “Fantastic Day.”
All three acts have gone on to other successes, but this tour brings together the songs and sounds that first brought them to fame.

Guyton and husband Grant Savoy welcomed their first child, son Grayson, in Feb. 2021 and the acoustic ballad’s moving lyric video features home movie footage of Guyton in the hospital cradling her then newborn and spending time with the now toddler. “Cuz I felt it before, but it wasn’t like this/ Ain’t a thing I wouldn’t do, ain’t a thing I wouldn’t give/ It’s the kind you fall into and never hit the bottom of/ It’s a scary love,” she sings on the chorus.

About Porter Robinson:
At age 18, the North Carolina-based producer and songwriter burst onto the scene with a complex, bombastic brand of electro-house. Following the major success of his 2014 debut album Worlds , Porter released the RIAA Gold single “Shelter” with Madeon in 2016, followed by a Shelter Live Tour spanning 43 dates and four continents. The following year, Porter began releasing music under a new alias, Virtual Self, which led to his first Grammy nomination for the BBC Radio 1 hit single “Ghost Voices.” In 2019, Porter put on the first Second Sky Festival, which sold out all 30,000 tickets for the two-day festival in a single day. In both 2020 and 2021, Porter Robinson hosted editions of his virtual festival Secret Sky, amassing over 6 million viewers combined, and which came to be regarded as the most sophisticated virtual festivals of its time. Later in 2021, following the release of sophomore album Nurture, Second Sky Festival made its return to the Bay Area, selling out 40,000 tickets in a single day. Immediately following, the Nurture Live North American Tour sold over 150,000 concert tickets and was the highest grossing electronic tour of 2021. In 2022, in partnership with Riot Games, Robinson released “Everything Goes On” surpassing 100 million global streams . Later that year was his debut of one of two exclusive full live band performances, first at Second Sky 2022 and again in 2023 at the Coachella Main Stage.
