What to do when you arrive at Manchester Airport Parking Terminal 2 West Multi Storey:

Drive up to the barrier (where your number plate will get scanned) and park in any bay you wish. Once you have parked, hold onto your keys and walk to the terminal, which is an 8 - 10 minute walk away.

How to get to Manchester Airport:

There's no transfers required! Once you've parked up, take your luggage to the terminal on foot - it's a 8-10 minute walk to the terminal.

What to do when you return:

When you have got back from your trip, walk back to the car park and collect your car.

Car Park itself Terminal 2 West Multi Storey isn’t great. Floors showed available spaces but hard to locate these. Long walk to lifts, very long walk to terminal 2/terminal 1 transfer bus; on return this wasn’t entirely covered so got wet, lifts a pain, too many people, kept pressing call button so our lift wouldn’t leave. Thr entrance by foot into the car park brings you to a different part of the car park and bears no relation to the point at which you come in, so you do not know where you parked your car. Long Stay Multi Storey T2 West - All terminals Manchester Airport First of all, it was a little bit difficult to find the car park as the post code did not exactly matched the location on a Google map and mainly the car park was not named the same way on a google map as in the confirmation email. Secondly, and especially that the system was unable to recognise my registration plate, I was actually not sure I'm at correct car park even when I stood by the barrier (no sign around) which was particularly worrying when my reg. plate was not recognised. I entered the car park and asked to enter so I could exit as I had a car behind me. The person on the intercom was very rude and told me I had to buy a token to exit.I entered and parked to find where I could get a token. I found the machine and saw that I had to put in a token to get a token to exit the carpark. I went back to my car and drove to the exit barrier and explained via the intercom that I had entered by mistake and could I exit. The gentleman said no problem and let me out straight away! I had two extremes of customer service...first the gentleman with zero customer service who thought it funny to send me looking for a token and secondly the the gentleman who let me exit, no problem!! Multi Storey T2 West Manchester Airport The car park itself was fine but the last time I parked at Manchester I think there was only one multi storey car park so I made a mistake and chose T2 West when I was actually flying from T1 which was a bit stress inducing. You ask for flight details - it would be good to have some thing which advises that you have a closer car park to the correct terminal - I saw other people who looked as if they’d made the same mistake. Also it would be helpful to have more info on your site about disabled parking - we had a wheelchair user with us - but we have to take the blue badge on holiday with us - so don’t know what that means in terms of using a disabled space in the air parks car park. Multi Storey T2 West Manchester Airport All good with the booking process. What is not good is the design of the new Manchester T2W multi storey. Clearly, they've aimed to cram in as many spaces as possible to profiteer. As a result, if you have anything bigger than a compact car, you'll barely fit in the spaces. So, with today's standard of driving and people being what they are these days, expect more dings, scratches, scrapes on your return. There's no need to worry about your car while you're away as the APH car park at Manchester is a holder of the police-approved Park Mark Plus Safer Parking Award. The car park also has CCTV, 24-hour manned patrols and entry and exit barriers.

APH Manchester operates two sites where your car could be parked. There is the main site where your vehicle is dropped off and a covered site – known as the Dome – just a few hundred yards away.

Both sites hold the police-approved Park Mark Plus Safer Parking Award and offer extensive security features such as CCTV, security fencing and manned patrols.

All cars will be returned to the main car park for collection upon your return.

Transfers to and from Manchester Airport

Transfers to Manchester Airport from the car park take around 10 minutes and operate 24 hours a day running every 15 minutes.

Please allow extra time due to airport roadway congestion. 

Disabled Facilities

Staff are happy to help with the unloading and loading of bags onto the buses. There is also a disabled toilet at the car park and the buses are wheelchair friendly.

APH Manchester park and ride is open 365 days a year and operates 24 hours a day.

APH will accept any vehicle that can fit into a standard parking bay and can be driven on a standard driving licence.

APH are unable to transport bikes, surf/windsurfing boards or items of a similar size on their transfer coaches. Snowboards/skis are acceptable.

From the M60 anti-clockwise:

• Exit at Junction 5 and then leave at the second junction signed A560.
• At the roundabout turn left – signed Sharston.
• Go straight on at the next roundabout and left at the following roundabout into Sharston Industrial Estate.
• Take the first left and the car park is on the right at the very end of the road.  

From the M60 clockwise:

• Exit at Junction 4 onto the M56.
• Exit at Junction 2 signed Wythenshawe.
• Go right at the roundabout into the Sharston Industrial Estate.
• Take the first left and the car park is on the right at the very end of the road.

M6 Cheshire:

• Join the M56 and exit at Junction 3A signed A560.
• Turn right into A560 and go straight over the next roundabout.
• Left at the next roundabout into Sharston Industrial Estate.

Arrival Procedure

Using APH Manchester park and ride is easy:

• Drive to the entry barrier at the very end of the road on the right.
• Approach the barrier and wait for it to automatically open.
• Drive into one of the marked arrival bays and then head to reception.
• Hop onto the transfer bus once you’ve handed over your keys.

Please ensure you allow sufficient time to complete your vehicle check-in and airport transfer.

Return Procedure

Picking up your car is just as easy:

• Once you return to Manchester Airport, call or text to let us know you’ve landed.
• Head to the marked APH bus stops just outside the terminal.
• Take the short transfer ride back to the car park.
• Head to reception, collect your keys and jump in your car.

Waited rather a long time for bus transfer at 11.30pm. Bus ride wasn’t great and as it had been raining the car park was full of mucky water holes which isn’t great when trying to pack your car in the dark & rain. I suppose they had our car available this time, as last October we got to the car park at same time of night and they had our car down for the following day, so had a long wait while they got our car out. We’ve used this car park quite a bit but feel it’s a bit hit or miss with the service they are providing. I’ve ticked yes I would book again but I would look elsewhere first.

More than 25 million passengers travel through Manchester Airport each year flying to 225 destinations across the world.

Since it first opened as a single terminal airfield known as Ringway Airport back in 1938, Manchester airport has grown beyond recognition. It now sports two runways and three terminals and is the UK's third busiest airport.

While you're there you might travel over one of the 42 airbridges, check-in at one of the 254 check-in desk or find out information about your flight one of the 940 helpful departure information screens.

How to Get to Manchester Airport

Get to the Airport from Junction 5 on the M56. Whether travelling from the North or South the M56 is easily accessible from both the M6 and the M60. The airport is only 20 minutes' drive from Manchester City Centre.

For those of you that don't go anywhere without your trusted sat nav, the postcode is M90 1QX.

There are three terminals at Manchester Airport, please check which terminal you are flying with before you travel.

To get between Terminals 1 and 2 there is a moving walkway along the Skylink which takes around 15 minutes.

To get between Terminals 1 and 3 there is an external walkway which takes 5 minutes.

Airport Car Parking Options at Manchester

There are numerous car parking options both on-airport and off-airport at Manchester. The cheapest car parks will normally be off-airport with a short transfer to the airport via a shuttle bus. If you're after a hassle-free parking option, selecting Meet & Greet will save you time.

On-Airport Parking at Manchester

Depending on which terminal you are flying from and how long you are away for, there are different options to suit you from Long Stay & JetParks to Short Stay Multi-Storey.

Long Stay Parking Manchester Airport

Only 5 minutes away from the terminals by shuttle bus, the Manchester long stay parking options are great if you want to park your own car and keep hold of your keys. Make sure you go select the long stay car park for your terminal; terminal 1 & 3 are in the same car park and terminal 2 has its own long stay car park .

Short Stay Parking Manchester Airport

The closest parking to the terminals are the multi-storey car parks, it is only a 1-minute walk over to the terminal. Which multi-storey car park you chose will depend on which terminal you are flying from; multi-storey terminal 1 , multi-storey terminal 2 or multi-storey terminal 3 .

Off-Airport Parking near Manchester Airport

The cheapest Manchester Airport parking options can be found a short distance from the airport. All car parks offered by FHR come with free transfers from the car parks to your designated terminal.

If you fancy a good night's sleep before you travel then there are various airport hotels at Manchester to choose from.

These include the four-star Manchester Hilton which is just two minutes away from the terminals. The three-star Britannia Country House which is two miles from Manchester Airport in the peaceful area of Didsbury and the four-star Manchester Airport Marriott which has excellent leisure facilities and is one mile away from the Airport.

There are more than 120 shops to choose from at Manchester airport, which is great for shopaholics!

If you're feeling a little peckish at the Airport, then there are plenty of eateries to tempt your taste buds. More than 300,000 breakfasts are consumed each year at the travel hub, three million hot drinks are bought, along with one million pints of beer and 1.5 million bottles of water. Frankie and Benny's is just one of the restaurants that are popular with airport visitors. There is also a Burger King and Greggs.

If you require assistance at the airport then you should notify your requirements to your travel agent, tour operator or airline at the time of booking and no later than 48 hours before the date of your departure. Changing Places can be found in all three terminals. They are a locked facility that provides more space than a normal accessible toilet, to allow adequate room for additional equipment and carers to be present to aid the user.

Manchester Airport Lounge

If you want to escape the crowds at the airport then why not check into one of the Manchester Airport Lounges . In Terminal 1 you have the choice of Aspire Lounge or The Escape Lounge . In Terminal Two there is The Escape Lounge or The Swissport Lounge and in Terminal 3 you can visit The Escape Lounge . There are complimentary drinks and nibbles, internet facilities, TV and newspapers and very comfortable chairs to lean back and chill in.

Frequently asked questions

Non-flexible bookings cannot be amended or cancelled.

Flexible bookings can be amended without incurring an amendment fee, however if the amendment results in a price increase ( e.g. a date change), you will be required to pay the additional amount.

You can request the amend by going to our  help section and clicking on Amend Booking.

It's not a problem if your flight back to Manchester is delayed. Your car will be kept safe and you can pay for any additional parking at the car park when you return to collect your vehicle.

Cancelling a booking is dependent on the type of product booked and the car park type as Non-flexible bookings cannot be cancelled at any time.

Flexible bookings can be cancelled any time after the booking is made, up to 24 hours before your booking arrival date. 

There is a £10 cancellation fee, with the balance refunded. unless you took out the waiver fee when booking.

Holders of the Park Mark® award have been risk assessed by a crime prevention officer from the local police. The Safer Parking Scheme is an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers and is managed by the British Parking Association.

We'll send you an email confirmation following your booking. This will confirm all the details of your booking, including a booking reference, so you can check that everything is ok.

If you didn't receive a booking confirmation email from us, please check your email provider spam/junk folder.

To re-send your booking confirmation, find your booking and select the 'Re-send booking confirmation' option.

It is important to have access to your Booking Confirmation, but you don’t have to print it. You must however ensure it is fully visible on your phone or device, so you can see all the information, directions and procedures you need to follow.

Booking Confirmations are sent upon completion of your booking, so if you don’t see it in your inbox please check your Junk/Spam folder in case it is there. 

You can view or print or resend your confirmation voucher yourself by going to our  help section  and clicking on  View Booking or Resend Confirmation Email.

If you do not have the booking reference number, you can email us, or call us.

There is no charge to amend your car details.

You can make the change yourself by going to our  help section and clicking on Amend Booking.

An invoice showing payment made will be sent to you by separate email from either Worldpay or from PayPal. 

We don't use the parking confirmation as a payment receipt, as they sometimes need to be handed over to the car park.  

You can get a VAT invoice by going to our Help  page and clicking on Request VAT Invoice

Most car parks charge per day or part thereof, i.e. they count the day you enter the car park and the day you leave. That means a 7 night trip is 8 calculated as days parking and a 14 night trip will be 15 days parking.

This will depend on the car park you book, but we recommend that you arrive to drop the car off at least minutes 30 minutes prior to your earliest check-in/bag drop time. 

The 'parking from' time on your confirmation is the time slot the car park has allocated you, so it’s important to let us know if you need to change the time, if its more than 24 hours before you are due to park. If it is less than 24 hours before your meet is due, you should call the chauffeurs using the number on your confirmation voucher.

Vehicle Details We can update vehicle details at any point. There is no charge for amending vehicle details.

Dates & Times Most bookings can be changed up to 24 hours before the booked arrival date. However, if you have booked an option marked as Non-refundable or Saver then the dates and times on these options cannot be amended and the booking cannot be cancelled. We are unable to amend details with 24 hours of your booked arrival date.

Going abroad on a well-deserved holiday is always exciting, whether it’s a family trip, a city break with friends or a solo adventure. Before you even go away there’s a lot of planning to be done, including on how you’re going to get to and from the airport.

Every day thousands of passengers arrive and depart from Manchester Airport . Although you can travel by bus, train, tram or taxi, many travellers choose to make their own way by car.

The airport has lots of options when it comes to car parks, with some located close to terminals and others further away. There are also drop-off and meet and greet services, and third-party parking services local to the airport.

The choice means there’s something for every budget and circumstances. But it’s also important to plan ahead as if you turn up on the day there may not be capacity for your car.

Luckily Manchester Airport has issued some useful tips to ensure parking at the airport goes smoothly. Read on to find out more.

Make sure you park at the right terminal

Terminals 1 and 3 at Manchester are only a short distance from one another, but Terminal 2 is further away – up to a 20-minute walk from Terminal 3 – and it may be too far to carry heavy suitcases. Don’t inconvenience yourself by parking at a different terminal to the one you’re flying from.

Book in advance to secure the best price

Advanced bookings help the airport manage parking capacity, so this is strongly encouraged - and you could secure a sizeable discount if you book in advance of your journey. This advice even applies if you get to the day of your flight and haven’t booked yet – you could still make a substantial saving by reserving a space.

Consider the free drop-off area instead of dropping off at the door

It is still possible to drop passengers off for free at Manchester Airport – just not on the terminal forecourt. A drop-off area is available in Thorley Lane opposite JetParks 1, completely free of charge, with five-minute bus shuttles running regularly to each of the airport’s three terminals. Passengers are encouraged to use this option to reduce traffic congestion on the terminal forecourts and around the airport site.

Be careful not to overstay when dropping off at the door and use short stay car park for pick ups

There is a time limit of 10 minutes in the forecourt drop-off areas, and an overstay charge of £25 applies if you remain for longer – this is to avoid bottlenecking of vehicles trying to access the forecourt, bringing traffic to a standstill. You must also avoid leaving your vehicle unattended within a forecourt area.

Picking passengers up on the forecourt is not allowed and subject to a £100 charge, as the time it takes passengers to pass through Arrivals can vary and would often result in drivers overstaying the 10-minute limit. If you’re picking someone up, you should use one of the short-stay car parks instead, located next to each terminal.

Check third parties are reputable

Manchester Airport has a range of official car parking products, with options to suit a range of budgets, from drop-and-go valet parking next to the terminal, to a more economical park-and-ride service at JetParks.

In addition to the airport’s official car parks, there are a number of third-party parking operators near the airport site, also offering drop-and-go or park-and-ride services. Many of these businesses are legitimate and reputable, but police have recently taken action against rogue operators who leave customers’ vehicles in unsecured locations, damage them, or drive them while the owners are away.

If you plan to use a third-party service, do your research before handing over your keys. Use government-accredited schemes like Park Mark to identify an operator who has committed to trading fairly.

Consider public transport

An alternative to car journeys, Manchester Airport has a wide range of public transport options available, which can be affordable, accessible, reliable, and sustainable. The airport is accessible by bus, coach, tram, and train via the dedicated station onsite. Passengers are encouraged to consider a more sustainable transport option when heading to or from Manchester Airport, to reduce the environmental impact, reduce travel time, and decrease the amount of traffic on the road network.

How does Drop & Go parking work?

Book in advance: Drop & Go at Manchester Airport is pre-book only, so book your space ahead of time.

Drive up to the barrier: Our Automatic Number Plate Recognition System will recognise your vehicle’s number plate and open the barrier (no tickets required), while state-of-the-art inspection cameras record the condition of your vehicle.

Drop your vehicle and keys: Pull into a bay, lock your vehicle, and drop your keys at the kiosk. One of our fully-insured drivers will park for you.

Head to your terminal: T3 is just a 5-minute walk away. For T1 and T2, jump on one of our free shuttle buses – they run 24/7.

When you return: Walk or take the shuttle bus back to your car park. Collect your keys from a locker, and your vehicle will be waiting in our dedicated returns area.

Exit the M56 at Junction 5 and keep right, following signs for T1 and T3.

At the traffic lights go straight ahead for T1, passing the Hilton Hotel on your left.

At the next roundabout take the first left and continue straight on until the next roundabout.

At this roundabout continue straight on to Hallman Road.

The entrance to Drop & Go is on the right-hand side.

Drop & Go parking FAQs

The minimum stay for the Drop & Go car park at Manchester Airport is seven days. If you want to park for a shorter period, use our Short Stay or Multi Storey car parks.

Please note: These stay durations are subject to change due to car park availability.

When you arrive at Drop & Go at Manchester Airport, just pull into a Drop Off bay, lock your vehicle, hand in your keys at reception, and head straight to check-in.

One of our fully-qualified and insured drivers park for you. Nobody will drive your car while you’re away.

When you’re due to get back, collect your keys from a locker and your vehicle will be waiting in our dedicated returns area.

The maximum height for vehicles using the Drop & Go car park at Manchester Airport is 2 metres (6ft 6in).

Drop & Go is only available if you pre-book. If your plans aren’t set, there are alternative Turn Up & Park options available. However, to guarantee a parking space we strongly recommend you pre-book, especially during peak-periods.

Blue Badge holders can park in any of the JetParks car parks at Manchester Airport.

Manchester airport parking : Extending over an area of 1,400 acres, Manchester airport lies about eight miles south of the city and 18 miles from the center of Manchester. The airport was initially opened on the 25th of June, 1938 and is said to be the third busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic in the UK and the busiest outside London.

In the year 2017, passenger traffic amounted to over 27.8 million. With flights to over 200 destinations worldwide, MAN is regarded as a major international airport. The airport has 2 parallel runways, a world-class freight terminal, and 3 passenger terminals.

Manchester Airport Gates Presentation

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are linked by the Skylink with travellators and Terminal 3 is linked to Terminal 1 and the skylink via a walkway. The Terminals are also connected to the airport railway station through the skylink.

Terminal 1- opened in 1962 and extends over an area of 1,200,000 sq. ft. It currently handles about 11 million passengers annually. It has two piers- T1 Pier B has Gates 1 to 15 and T1 Pier C has Gates 21 to 32 for departures.

Terminal 2- opened in 1993 extends over an area of 560,000 sq. ft. and has 16 gates and 9 air bridges.

Terminal 3- opened in 1989 extends over an area of 478,000 sq. ft. It houses Gates 1 to 19 Departure Level and gates 141 to 150.

Access to the Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport is easy to access from the city center and also other destinations. Buses ply throughout the day, though the frequency may alter.

Buses 43, 44, and 105 operate between Manchester city center and the airport.

It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from Manchester Airport train station to the airport terminals, giving passengers easy access to departures. The Skylink walkway makes it possible for them to walk indoors without the need for a shuttle bus.

The TransPennine Express and Northern also connect the airport to Manchester Piccadilly station and many other railway stations in northern England. There is a Metrolink service from Combrook station to the airport and also an Airport line (tram line) from the city center to MAN. Direct trains also operate between Oxford Road stations and the airport station. Between midnight and 3 am, there is no Metrolink service.

The Manchester tram system allows for direct but slow travel between the city center and the airport. Line 6 operates between the City center, Victoria Station to the airport between 6 am and midnight.
