Wallabies fixtures 2024: full australian rugby union test draw.

Anyone can contribute to The Roar and have their work featured alongside some of Australia’s most prominent sports journalists.

The Wallabies fixtures are generally spread out into three groups of Tests, the July Tests , Rugby Championship (within which the Bledisloe Cup takes place), and the Spring Tour .

In 2024 the Wallabies will host Wales and Georgia before turning their attention to the Rugby Championship with home games against South Africa, away Tests against Argentina and then a split two-match Bledisloe Cup against the All Blacks.

To finish the year is the Spring Tour, where the Wallabies will face England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

The 2025 season is headlined by the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia. Head here for the full fixture .

All times are in AEST/AEDT. Please note all games will be broadcast on Nine’s streaming service Stan Sport , while games in Australia and Rugby World Cup matches will also be broadcast on Nine’s free to air channels.

2023 Wallabies results

A shortened three-match Rugby Championship began with the Wallabies obliterated by South Africa in Pretoria 43-12, in the first match under Eddie Jones’ second stint at the helm, before a heartbreaking 34-31 loss to Argentina at Commbank Stadium.

The Bledisloe Cup was again secured by the All Blacks after they won the first of a two-game series 38-7 at the MCG to end The Rugby Championship. They finally had a chance of a breakthrough victory in Game 2 when they led 14-0 after less than ten minutes, but were unable to hold on, losing 23-20 to make it seven consecutive Test losses to New Zealand.

They made it five losses from five under Jones with a 41-17 loss to France to head into the World Cup still in losing form.

While they finally secured their first win under new management to open the tournament with a 35-15 win over Georgia, a new low was reached with a shock 15-22 loss to Fiji, the Wallabies’ first loss to the island nation in 69 years.

They then sunk even further with a 40-6 hammering at the hands of Wales, that all but ensured a World Cup pool stage exit for the first time in history, before saving face with a nervy 34-14 win over Portugal.

2022 Wallabies results

The Wallabies began their year with a 2-1 series loss to a visiting England, before starting their Rugby Championship campaign with a win and a loss in Argentina. They then went on to again split a home series 1-1 against South Africa.

Due to scheduling concerns around the AFL finals, a rare Thursday night Bledisloe Cup match was played in Melbourne before the return leg in New Zealand. The All Blacks won 39-37 in a massively controversial finish to ensure the trophy stays in their hands once again. The Wallabies were then soundly beaten at Eden Park – again – to continue their slide.

Following that, the Spring Tour saw the Wallabies battle Scotland, France, Italy, Ireland, and Wales. They started in style with a thrilling 16-15 win over the Scots at Murrayfield, before losing a thriller 30-29 to France and then losing again by a point to Italy and 13-10 to Ireland.

They finished the tour in style, coming from 21 points down to defeat Wales 39-34.

2021 Wallabies results

The Wallabies kicked off their international campaign with a tense 2-1 series win over France, but they were then embarrassed by the All Blacks in a comprehensive 3-0 Bledisloe Cup series sweep.

However, they then surprised the rugby world with back-to-back wins over the Springboks and completed an impressive Rugby Championship with victory over Argentina.

Unfortunately, the Aussie team couldn’t continue their success in the Spring Tour with just one win against Japan and three losses against Scotland, England and Wales.

The Wallabies will get an early preview of next year’s British and Irish Lions tour after the fixtures for the Spring Tour were confirmed

Joe Schmidt’s men will have a shot at claiming the Grand Slam, facing all four nations that make up the Lions in November.

The Grand Slam has been achieved once by the Wallabies in 1984 when the likes of the Ella Brothers, David Campese and Nick Farr-Jones swept the home nations.

Australia will open their campaign against England on November 10 (AEST) at Twickenham, with the English beginning their campaign a week earlier against the All Blacks.

It will be the first time they will play Steve Borthwick’s side since he took over, with the 2023 World Cup semi-finalists defeating the Wallabies 2-1 in 2022.

This will be followed by the Wallabies facing Wales eight days later in Cardiff, the third time they will face the Welsh in 2024.

The two sides will open the home Test calendar on July 6 in Sydney, followed by a Test in Melbourne on July 13.

It’ll cap off a blockbuster weekend of action that will see England host South Africa in a World Cup semi-final rematch followed by France taking on the All Blacks

The Wallabies will then head to Murrayfield to face Scotland on November 25.

They last played each other in 2022, with the Australians claiming a dramatic 16-15 win.

The series ends with a blockbuster clash against second-ranked Ireland in Dublin on December 1.

It marks the first time Joe Schmidt will face his old side, having coached Ireland to multiple Six Nations titles and the top of the World Rankings.

Wallabies rocked by injury ahead of Spring Tour departure as skipper seeks RWC momentum

As captain James Slipper spoke optimistically about their end of season Spring Tour and Michael Hooper’s return, the Wallabies were hit with the devastating news second-rower Matt Philip is set for a long stint on the sidelines.

The Wallabies only regrouped together on Monday night, but were rocked at training on Wednesday morning when Philip went down with a knee-injury.

The hardworking 28-year-old was driven away on Wednesday to hospital, where scans confirmed the 27-Test lock suffered an ACL injury.

It’s a shocking blow for the Wallabies, who on Wednesday evening fly to Paris where they will familiarise themselves with next year’s World Cup training base, which is just outside Lyon. 

The Wallabies will then travel to Edinburgh ahead of the first of five Tests, which gets underway against Scotland at Murrayfield on October 30.

It’s a mammoth tour for a squad that has been playing since early February and is being built as their own Six Nations campaign, without the fallow weeks.

But their depth will face an early test following Philip’s injury blow.

Dave Rennie is already without second-rowers Darcy Swain (suspension) and Will Skelton, who will join the Wallabies ahead of the second Test against France.

Rennie might not pull anyone into the squad, but with Lukhan Salakaia-Loto and 106-Test stalwart Rob Simmons both plying their trade in England, a phone call to either lock is not beyond the realms of possibilities.

Simmons, 33, is one of the best lineout callers in Australian rugby and Salakaia-Loto has just joined Northampton Saints, but already there are whispers the former Reds lock could be thinking twice about his move.

The Wallabies will head to Europe as a fallen powerhouse, who are out to prove to themselves as much as anyone that they are World Cup contenders.

It has been years since they were feared by rival nations, with the Wallabies not winning in Dublin since 2013 while Wales and Scotland are on three-match winning streaks against Australia.

The Wallabies can beat anyone on their day but consistency has been their Achilles heel in recent years and has led to the two-time world champions sliding to No.9 on World Rugby’s rankings.

“The Australians love an underdog especially the Queenslanders, but we want to go there with the expectation to win as well,” Slipper told reporters in Sydney on Wednesday. 

“We’re not going over there to come second. 

“It’s all about going out there and doing it. It’s no good me standing here in front of you talking about what I want to do, it’s about going out there and doing it.

“I mentioned earlier in the year that to have a good World Cup, you need to string at least seven games together and we’ve got five in front of us now against world-class opposition.

“It’s going to be hard but it’s one we’re excited by and the overarching theme for us is consistency.”

The Wallabies have been given a boost by Hooper’s return.

The inspirational openside flanker, who has started 115 of 121 Tests, was named on Sunday in the squad for the first time since withdrawing on the eve of the Rugby Championship.

Slipper has led the side in his absence and could well captain the Wallabies through to next year’s World Cup, but for now veteran prop was just excited to see Hooper back doing what he does best.

“Firstly, it’s just great to see him back,” Slipper said. 

“Hoops has been a big part of our team for the best part of a decade if not more so. 

“Just to have his experience around the team, around the squad, naturally, that’ll lift the boys a fair bit. 

“As a good mate of his I’m really happy he’s back fit and healthy and that’s the most important thing. 

“Secondary, the captaincy, it’s probably in everyone’s best interest if Hoops concentrates on himself - we want him enjoying himself and being happy. 

“I was happy to take the leadership role for the rest of the year and whatever happens in the future that can happen but my focus is on the tour and there’s a couple of big games coming.”

While the Wallabies are bracing for another tough tour, with four of the five nations they will play ahead of them on the World Rugby rankings, Slipper said he hoped the trip would be a springboard for next year’s World Cup in the same way Michael Cheika’s first tour on charge sewed the seeds for their run in 2015.

“You kind of want that momentum running into a World Cup and for us it’s a great opportunity to start that momentum now,” he said. 

“There’s a lot of games to go before the World Cup and that’s something that we can work on game in game out is just keep getting better and better. 

“That 2014 was a bit of a change of the guard with Cheik coming in and had a good roll into the World Cup. 

“Hopefully we can do the same.”

Spring Fling kicks off today. Criterium bike race, road closures, parking info to know

Spartanburg's annual street festival is making a comeback this year. Celebrate Spring Fling in downtown Spartanburg with enough family fun to entertain you throughout the weekend.

When is Spring Fling?

Spring Fling is on April 26-28 and is a free event. Here are the hours the festival will operate:

• Friday, 5-10 p.m.
• Saturday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
• Sunday, 12-6 p.m.

Spring Fling has been a Spartanburg fixture since 1978 and welcomes about 100,000 visitors each year.

Christopher George, communications manager for the city, said there is something fun for everyone to enjoy this year.

"We can't wait to celebrate Spring Fling with folks again this year," George said. "There's always something for everyone at the festival, and we think folks will really enjoy the new attractions our team has planned."

Where is Spring Fling located?

The festival will take place on Church Street and run to Daniel Morgan Avenue in downtown Spartanburg. The Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Criterium is kicking off Spring Fling with the annual bike race.

Explore the many booths and attractions of Spring Fling. Check out attractions, including live entertainment, a food court, craft beer markets, family fun zones with activities, a car show, and more.

One of the newest events at Spring Fling is the Jeep Show, hosted on Sunday, April 28. Enter your dressed-up Jeep or walk around and admire the others. Don't forget to bring your rubber ducks to pass out to your favorite entries.

Crit Bike race details

The Crit Bike Race begins at 3:15 p.m., throughout downtown Spartanburg. The Crit consists of six bike races - four amateur and two professional.

The first Crit Bike Race was hosted in 2005 with one tent of sponsors and tailgaters. The Crit will have up to 850 cyclists and 112 tents this year. In 2023, Spartanburg welcomed cyclists representing 15 countries.

The last race begins at 8:05 p.m., and all cyclists will race through the loop of Main and Broad streets.

Expect to dance all weekend with Spring Fling's packed lineup, which includes live music, DJs, and other entertainment. Over 20 performers will perform on the Broad Street and Spring Street stages.

Jon Bon Jovi Hits the Town, and Gustavo Dudamel Takes the Stage

This week, fans turned out for a new documentary about Jon Bon Jovi and took in a performance led by Gustavo Dudamel at the New York Philharmonic’s spring gala.

A Rocker Greets His Fans

Jon Bon Jovi stood blinking, rubbing his eyes, temporarily blinded on Thursday night by the lights from a row of photographers.

Recovering, the musician said, “OK, I’m here now,” and then “Hi, love,” his eyes wide as he flashed a very white smile.

He was standing just inside a movie theater at the South Street Seaport for a special screening of a new documentary series, “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.” He approached the event, hosted by the Cinema Society and Hulu, with the same charming grit that helped make him famous.

The show, now on Hulu, traces the musician’s path from his teenage years playing covers in Asbury Park, N.J., to mega-stardom with his band Bon Jovi, packing arenas with rock anthems. It also touches on his recent vocal cord trouble that led to surgery.

“I’m wonderful,” said Bon Jovi, 62, dressed in a leather jacket and jeans, with a full, feathery head of gray hair. “What you see in the film was a year and two years ago. It’s a work in progress. But it is really far down the road of recovery at this point.”

Bon Jovi will release its 16th studio album, “Forever,” on June 7. The band currently has no plans to tour, but its frontman is hopeful. “When it is right, that’s when we’ll tour,” he said.

A crowd that included the model Maye Musk and the television presenter Dan Abrams filed into the cushy seats of the iPIC Fulton Market theater to watch the first episode of the four-part series, which is directed and executive produced by Gotham Chopra. After the screening, Bon Jovi answered questions and tried to put the health concerns shown in the series in context.

“If, God forbid, I can’t perform at Giants Stadium, woe is me,” he said. “So what if I can’t sing again?”

The audience then meandered to the Fulton by Jean-Georges, a high-end seafood spot overlooking the East River, where a crowd surrounded the musician near a raw bar. The rocker grinned and chatted with fans like the actress Jennifer Esposito.

Ms. Esposito said that when she was in high school, she asked her hairdresser for Bon Jovi’s look. “I used to bring in a picture of him and say, ‘Make it look like that,’” she recalled.

The two later acted alongside each other. “He’s a cool dude from Jersey,” she said. “He wasn’t a big shot. He just wanted to show up and do a good job.”

Just before 10 p.m., after posing for a row of selfies, the musician slid out the door. Servers continued to circle with sliders and summer rolls, and as “Livin’ on a Prayer” played through the restaurant, a young bartender smiled and sang the lyrics to herself.

A Preview of Dudamel at the New York Philharmonic

“What are we excited about tonight?” said Agnes Hsu-Tang, the archaeologist, art historian and wife of the New York Philharmonic co-chairman Oscar L. Tang.

“Dudamel!” she and her husband said in unison.

They were at a cocktail reception before the New York Philharmonic’s annual spring gala at David Geffen Hall on Wednesday night. In a special East Coast appearance, Gustavo Dudamel, the charismatic conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, led the New York Philharmonic through a 90-minute program and preview of what is to come when he officially takes over as the orchestra’s music and artistic director in 2026.

The night was attended by music-world fixtures such as Jamie, Alexander and Nina Bernstein, the children of the conductor Leonard Bernstein; J’Nai Bridges, the mezzo-soprano; and Anthony Roth Costanzo, the countertenor.

“The whole idea is to pull classical music out of its rut and show the world how flexible and versatile it can be,” Jamie Bernstein said.

The evening gave many in attendance their first look at Mr. Dudamel, 43, the rare maestro whose fame transcends classical music. That’s not to say it will all be smooth sailing for Mr. Dudamel. He will face the challenge of reaching younger and more diverse audiences, as well as an investigation into how the orchestra handled a sexual assault accusation in 2010.

But on Wednesday night, with his baton bobbing and his curls bouncing, he led the orchestra through “The Mother Is Standing,” by the composer Nina Shekhar. The piece was followed by Heitor Villa-Lobos’s Aria from Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 (a feature for the soprano Hera Hyesang Park), Arturo Márquez’s Danzón No. 8 and Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier Suite.

The gala also featured performances by Common, the rapper and actor; Bernie Williams, the classical guitarist and former New York Yankees center fielder; and student musicians from across New York City. The night drew about 2,200 people and raised more than $2.4 million for the orchestra.

Later, during a dinner of jumbo asparagus and Amish chicken, a beaming Ms. Park graciously entertained a stream of well-wishers.

“I woke up at 6 a.m. before my first rehearsal with Dudamel because I couldn’t sleep because I was so excited,” she said, as people stopped by her table to congratulate her. “And,” she added, “tonight was even better than I imagined.”

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present.
