Clinton community college takes big step in moving campus to suny plattsburgh.

May 03, 2024 —

Clinton Community College has been approved by its accrediting agency, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. to submit a formal request for a campus relocation.

That’s a big step forward in to move to SUNY Plattsburgh’s campus by the 2025-2026 school year, which begins next fall. The college announced its intent to move in January. A dramatic decline student enrollment has thrown the college into financial trouble. 

As the Plattsburgh Press Republican reports , this was first big hurdle to moving all CCC operations to the nearby, four-year university. The school also needs to address its accreditation status.

The SUNY system is supporting the move, and committed funds to the move in a recent report submitted to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. 

If CCC’s move to SUNY Plattsburgh is successful, it will be the first of its kind in the state, amidst college closure across the US and New York. School leaders say this is what they need to do to stay open and offering community college programs in Clinton County.

Campus Tours

Experiencing our campus in person is the best way to learn about all suny new paltz has to offer, schedule today there are two options to explore:.

• The General Campus Tour : A guided, 90-minute trek across our beautiful campus, led by a Student Ambassador who can answer your questions from a current student’s perspective. After the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with an Admissions Counselor who can help guide you through more of the details of applying and enrolling at New Paltz.
• The Information Session & Tour : Everything you get with the campus tour, plus a short presentation designed to give you extra insights into what it means to be a student at SUNY New Paltz. Please note that we will also be offering Transfer Specific Information Sessions & Tours. The Transfer Specific Information Sessions & Tours will be taking place on Friday, March 15th at 12:30pm and on Saturday, May 4th at 11:00am. Registration for these can be done below.
• Accepted Senior Days:  A 30-minute panel discussion with current students followed by a 90-minute campus tour taking place on Friday, March 1 st  at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 8 th  at 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM, Friday, April 12th at 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM, and May 3 rd  at 10:00 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:00 PM.

Come get a first-hand look at our Nutrition and Fitness Wellness facilities. Facilities include a culinary arts food laboratory, a student garden and more! Tours are guided by a currently enrolled Nutrition and Fitness Wellness student.
