"The Homies" met Jack Harlow in 2014 and since then they've formed a friendship and music collective that's bringing them to an even bigger stage.

Acepro, Shloob, 2forwoyne and Quiisso are the four members who make up "The Homies." They have been making music together for years and now they're joining Harlow on tour.

"It's pretty cool to actually go to different places and now a different continent," said Acepro. "You know, perform what you made in your bedroom and see how people react to it. It's definitely a great experience each time."

"The Homies" will be joining Harlow July 25-31 for the Australian and New Zealand leg of his tour.

It isn't the group's first tour either. They've traveled across the U.S. in the past.

The group was in Los Angeles on business recently and when they visited Harlow, he invited them to join him on stage at the BET Awards.

The group said they are grateful for these opportunities but home is always on the mind. In August, they will host their third annual celebrity kickball tournament.

"This year I think is the biggest year ever. we're getting more sponsors in and the biggest part for me is we're actually giving back to the community," said Acepro. "I feel like we can especially with our platform they help us get to."

With more sponsors, buy-in from local celebrities and ticket sales, the group will donate profits to Norton Children's Hospital and AMPED, which helps local students express creativity through music.

The Announcement:

Creating their beats, rhymes, and videos in-house, there’s nothing that the Louisville rap collective  The Homies  can’t DIY. Today, the 4-man crew announces that they are joining  Jack Harlow  on the “ Come Home The Kids Miss You Tour .” Also featuring support from the  City Girls , the 26-date tour gives  Ace Pro, 2forwOyNE, Shlobb,  and  Quiiso  the chance to show off their performance chops in front of arena-sized audiences. The tour kicks off on  September 5th  in  Cincinnati , just a few miles up the road from The Homies’ hometown. Tickets are  available now . Tickets for the September 16th show in San Francisco go on sale on August 12th at 10am PT.

The tour announcement arrives ahead of   It’s A Lot Going On , The Homies’ next album. The Background:

The Homies, comprised of multi-talented individuals with a unique sound and perspective, are a budding Hip-Hop group based out of Louisville, KY. Part of the Private Garden collective, a group of Kentucky creatives co-created by Grammy Nominated artist Jack Harlow, The Homies consists of Quiiso, Shloob, Ace Pro, and 2forwOyNE. The group prides themselves for being a creative force, producing all their music in-house, as well as their creative direction.

Formed in Louisville out of a shared passion for music and creativity, The Homies have earned high-profile co-signs, earning praise from iconic DJs DJ Drama and Don Cannon, and opening on tour for artists like Lil Uzi Vert, Bryson Tiller, and Waka Flocka Flame. The Homies scored a cult hit with  “ Leaf Wraps ,” a Jack Harlow-featuring single that scored over 5 million streams on Spotify, and later appeared on their 2018 debut album  Umbrellas .  They followed up  Umbrellas  with last year’s  Honest Living ,  home to the single  “ White Lies ”  (3.7 million Spotify streams). With the follow-up to  Honest Living  on the way, The Homies showed off their live chops at Louisville’s own  Forecastle Festival  in May, and they recently finished a tour performing several dates across Australia.

Our current landscape of music is where genre-bending and breaking the status quo is the order of the day. While the ethos of Hip-Hop’s history has carried a mandate of political ends or pure lyrical supremacy it was rare, odd and quite frankly risky to bring any alternatives to the status quo.

In what can only be described as an exception to the norm carrying on tradition of crews such as outcast, are the embodiment of musicality, diversity and the renaissance of light-hearted fun.

Originating from Louisville, Kentucky, Quiiso, Shloob, Ace Pro and 2forwOyNE form this quartet that was co-founded by Grammy Nominated artist and close friend, Jack Harlow.  

Over the past 2 years, they’ve released a few singles including their smash hit “Leaf Wraps” ft. Jack Harlow . The success of “Leaf Wraps” opened the door for significant opportunities such as The Homies being opening for top acts like Lil Uzi Vert, Bryson Tiller, Wiz Khalifa and more. 

Recently, the crew released visuals for their latest records, “The Come Down” and “Homealone” both of which have been met with warm reception. The Homies join us for an exclusive interview where they share their origin story, their creative process, working with Jack Harlow, and more about their current tour following the successful release of their debut album Honest Living.

Take me to the conversation in Louisville where everyone decided that we are going to be a rap group especially considering the challenges music groups face these days?

For us, it was an easy decision. 2forwOyNE and Shloob are fraternal twins, Ace and 2Fo played ball together growing up as kids. QuiisO came around after he came to Louisville for college. One day he walked over to Shloob and 2Fo’s dorm hall at UofL and saw 2Fo making beats. he asked him to show him how to do it and They made an instant connection. Shortly after we ended up linking with Ace and decided to start as a producer group. As we’re going along one day we just said “y’all tryna rap?” And the rest was history. We felt like we were the best people to do our beats justice. We don’t really look at or concern ourselves with the cons or challenges of being a group. It’s really a brotherhood, we’re about achieving a common goal with our guys. This has been almost a decade in the making.

As an indie rap collective what has been your experience with releasing and marketing your own content? Are there other challenges that you faced breaking into the music industry?  

Our experience has been kind of a journey honestly with releasing music and marketing. It’s been a lot of trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t. The indie route is rewarding because when things work it gives you the extra gratification that you didn’t have much help. When you don’t have that big machine behind you it forces you to find ways to get in front of people. It also shows you that everything is attainable without the big guys.

Between Quiiso, Shloob, Ace Pro, and 2forwOyNE, who handles composition, arrangement, and engineering in the production process?

Out of all of us it’s mainly 2Fo and Ace that handle production, Engineering, and arrangements. QuiisO produces as well. We all look over the composition aspect of it pretty evenly, as everyone has input for the vast majority of our catalogue

From 2019’s “Mo Zeros” to 2021’s “Home Alone” your music has grown exponentially, what would you credit to the growth in subject matter, cadence, and musicality?

The main contributor to the growth in our music is lived experience. We like to make sure our music is as authentic to us as it we can get it. We put in a lot of work, time, and attention towards what we sound like and it’s showing itself in our releases. We’re going to take our audience somewhere and a polished sound is the best way to make sure we do that.

How does the song writing come about, the hooks, melodies, bridges and the mood of the song? Is there a method to the madness or it all organic?

The method is organic! If we have beats already made that we want to attack someone will start an idea. Then from there everyone else makes their contribution. If we’re starting all the way from scratch, someone will make a beat and the others will write or sing out loud until we like something. By the time the instrumental is done we’ll have at least a hook to put on it.

As a group being collaborative gives us a chance to get different perspectives and angles on tracks. So we just add to an idea piece by piece until we have a full song. We all write hooks, we all sing melodies, we all pen our own verses. We talk about what the overall tone should be or what the mood/feeling of the joint should encompass. Then next thing you know it’s time to mix and master.

“The Come Down” speaks to our escapist generation, do you feel its healthy to escape our realities and their problems than to confront them or do we all deserve to take the edge off occasionally?

We believe in doing whatever makes you comfortable in your own skin, so whatever is right for you. Yes, it’s ok to take the edge off if you feel you need to. Certain situations need to be confronted depending on what it is, but definitely in your own time. It’s ok to check out if things are too much or don’t make sense. That’s the thing about life, there’s no rules to this. Everyone is doing what they feel they need to make it to the next day.

Could you tell us more about the new album Honest Living? Can we expect more vibrant, layered, something for everyone energy you are known for or it for a niche fan base?

Honest Living is really just a culmination of us and what we represent. We’re everyday people with problems and situations just like everyone else. We just happen to be nice at music. We all have different personalities and influences and perspectives on music, even down to the roots of how we came up in it. This all comes out in that product. We want listeners to feel us and enjoy the experience of seeing things from our view. Going forward we’ll continue to give different flavors and expand our artistry so people can enjoy that growth.

Lastly, let’s chat about Creme de la Crème tour with Jack Harlow, how does it feel to tour after the performance drought caused by the pandemic, how you met Jack and a little more about where the tour is headed, which cities are next and experiences you are looking forward to?

Its been dope! Feels like a weight has been lifted off of our shoulders a little. This tour has been our first time getting back in front of people in almost two years. So we were excited to get back out here and continue to make a name for ourselves. We met Jack around 2014. Ace came across some of his work and was impressed. They hit it off after they started working together. Then gradually he met the rest of us as we started hanging around more. After a while we came together and created private garden, been locked in ever since. As of right now we’re ending the first leg in Boston. We’ll have St. Louis in October, and a few Midwest dates in November. QuiisO is excited for Toronto and NY especially. We just want to make sure we’re giving our best and coming away with new fans. So far we’ve been able to do that. It’s been fire getting love and reaching people in places we haven’t been to before. The best part of all this is soaking in the experience and building our fanbase as well.

The Homies Share New Single “Thirsty”

Creating their own instrumentals and music videos in-house, Louisville rap group The Homies  brim with an infectious communal energy that permeates their music. Coming through with a breezy banger to cool off this heat wave, the four-man collective shares  “ Thirsty ,” their new single. “Thirsty” is the latest missive from  It’s A Lot Going On , the next album by The Homies, releasing on  August 19th .

Produced by group member  2forwOyNE , an accomplished sound architect who produced several tracks on  Jack Harlow’s  latest album, “Thirsty” combines elements of two late ’00s rap cuts–using a sped-up sample of Drake’s “Houstatlantavegas” and vocals of Missy Elliott’s “Ching-A-Ling”–into a cohesive and incredibly catchy whole. Vocalists  Ace   Pro ,  Shloob , and  Quiiso embellish the sample with silky smooth harmonies, using their melodic mastery to romance the object of their affections: “I wanna spend more than time with you/Mess around spend every single dime on you/Your boss b*tch energy is shining through.” The new single follows the Hype Williams-inspired video for  “ Shake ” which earned 368k video views.

Along with the new single, The Homies announce the return of their annual  The Homies Celebrity Kickball Tournament . Hosted by  Private Garden , the collective that The Homies started with their friend Jack Harlow, the event celebrates the end of summer by inviting some of the city’s biggest celebrities for a friendly kickball round-robin. The tournament includes four teams of 14, comprised of musicians, athletes, stars, and local youth, and benefits two Louisville-based community organizations: Norton’s Children’s Hospital  and  AMPED.  The anticipated celebrity kickball tournament returns to  Jim Patterson Stadium , the home of Louisville Cardinals baseball, on  August 10th, 2022  from  6:00-9:30pm .

Formed in Louisville out of a shared passion for music and creativity, The Homies have earned high-profile co-signs, earning praise from iconic DJs DJ Drama and Don Cannon, and opening on tour for artists like Lil Uzi Vert, Bryson Tiller, and Waka Flocka Flame. The Homies scored a cult hit with  “ Leaf Wraps ,” a Jack Harlow-featuring single that scored over 5 million streams on Spotify, and later appeared on their 2018 debut album  Umbrellas .  They followed up  Umbrellas  with last year’s  Honest Living ,  home to the single  “ White Lies ”  (3.7 million Spotify streams). With the follow-up to  Honest Living  on the way, The Homies showed off their live chops at Louisville’s own  Forecastle Festival  in May, and they are currently on the road Down Under, performing several dates across Australia.

Solana Rowe (born November 8th, 1990) a.k.a SZA, hails from St Louis, Missouri, US, with the American singer-songwriter delivering alternative neo-soul and ethereal R&B that has gained respect from her peers.

Jack Harlow’s love for rap began in his hometown of Louisville, KY. At 12 years old, the future artist loyally listened to old-school influences and recorded an album alongside his friend titled Rippin’ and Rappin’.

Vince Staples is an American rapper originally from Long Beach, California. He is also a member of the Hip hop group Cutthroat Boyz, alongside California rappers Joey Fatts, and Aston Matthews.

Rich Homie Quan, (born Dequantes Lamar, October 4th 1989) is a rapper from Atlanta, Georgia, and is signed to T.I.G. Entertainment.

Slum Village is a Detroit hip-hop group formed in 1996, hailing from the Conant Gardens neighbourhood. The group have released a handful of studio albums since 2000.

Also new to the national survey is We Still Don’t Trust You (Universal/Sony), the second collaborative album from Future and Metro Boomin . It’s new at No. 15, and the followup to We Still Don’t Trust You , which recently bowed at No. 2.

Over on the ARIA Singles Chart, Hozier bags his first No. 1 with “Too Sweet” (Columbia/Sony), up 2-1. “Too Sweet” is Hozier’s second top 10 appearance on the Australian chart after his signature song “Take Me To Church” reached No. 2 back in 2013. “Too Sweet” also lifted to No. 1 in the U.K . earlier this month, for Hozier’s first leader there.

According to ARIA, Hozier is the fourth solo male singer to reach the top this year on the Australian chart, following U.S. artists Jack Harlow (“Lovin On Me”), Noah Kahan (“Stick Season”) and Benson Boone (“Beautiful Things”).

“Beautiful Things” (via Warner) dips 1-2 on the latest frame, while British EDM producer Artemas holds onto third spot with “I Like The Way You Kiss Me” (10K/ADA).

The top new debut on the ARIA Singles Chart belongs to U.S. pop singer and actor Sabrina Carpenter , whose “Espresso” shoots in at No. 7. “Espresso” (Island/Universal) is the follow-up to “Feather,” which peaked at No. 22 in 2023.

Travis Kelce lifting Taylor Swift 's feet off the ground is making every Swiftie crazier. 

While all eyes were on the duo during their public night out together at the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival  April 13, one fan captured a moment that is well worth remembering. 

In the video shared on TikTok , the Kansas City Chiefs tight end—who donned a pair of blue pinstripe pants with a white T-shirt, flannel and a Happy Gilmore  hat—quickly lifted Taylor in the Dom Dolla crowd at the festival—seemingly so she could catch a glimpse at something. 

The "Karma" singer, who paid homage to her man and his brother Jason Kelce in a green New Heights podcast baseball cap, along with a black shirt, skirt and leather jacket, turned her head to look behind her before Travis put her down. The brief moment had fans gushing on social media—where they compared it to the Lion King 's iconic "Circle of Life" scene, and to a Saturday Night Live sketch that Travis participated in last March about NFL players literally picking up women. 

In addition to the enchanting lift, the couple's night out at the California desert festival was full of swoon-worthy moments. For one, the duo was also spotted at Jack Antonoff 's band, Bleachers ' set, as well as in the crowd for Ice Spice 's performance—along with Eras Tour  opener Sabrina Carpenter and Saltburn star Barry Keoghan . Of course, Ice also joined the pair in the audience to catch other moments of the festival.
