The Dead South have never been about constant reinvention, but about full commitment to their own singular way. With confidence in their sound and style and trust in each other, The Dead South arrive at the cusp of explosive global success in an enviable, and well-earned, position: total autonomy. It doesn’t really matter what you call their music - progressive bluegrass, alternative Americana, country, folk and western, what matters is that this is theirs, and people from all different backgrounds, beliefs, experiences, languages and ages love it. True blue right through, The Dead South don’t shy away from ruffling traditionalists’ feathers from time to time, as they flawlessly execute banjo rolls and lightning-fast mandolin tremolos, 3-part harmonies and songs of classic themes -murder ballads, disloyalty, ghosts and the like, all with a wink and a smile. As they continue their climb to the top, The Dead South have learned an important lesson: If you’re going to be outsiders, you’d better be great. Confirmed by the passion of their Dead South cosplaying fans, who go to concerts in the band’s signature look, this four-piece acoustic set from the middle of the Canadian prairies have found their people. Good Company, as they call themselves, is a global community of vastly dissimilar folks who might not see eye to eye, but who stand shoulder to shoulder at the gigs.

Tickets for all dates will be on sale Friday at 10am local time with an exclusive presale for the Cyber Army/Megadeth Digital beginning today, Tuesday, April 23 at 12pm local time Megadeth.com .

Featuring some of Mustaine’s strongest-ever songwriting, the tour offers an equally ambitious live performance that delivers on all fronts.
“Our ‘Crush The World’ tour has been a tremendous experience for the four of us,” shared Dave Mustaine. “We are all playing tight, and that has made it possible for me to really focus on solos and singing, we are playing more songs than ever before, and we are closer to each other, onstage AND off. I’m excited to see Mudvayne, and All That Remains. Join us as we DESTROY ALL ENEMIES.”
The North American jaunt comes on the heels of a highly anticipated and successful stint in Latin America wrapping this month and starting back up in Europe this summer. With stops in Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and México and forthcoming dates in Sweden, Italy, France, Germany and more, the band’s global appeal and lasting impact is more apparent than ever as continued calls for international touring are demanded.
Megadeth, alongside founder and frontman Dave Mustaine, are renowned for their unparalleled energy and mastery on stage. In 2023, the GRAMMY-Award winning band dominated arenas and festivals, reaffirming its status as one of heavy metal’s most formidable live acts. Dubbed “as ferocious and hard-hitting as ever” by AllMusic , Megadeth enjoyed sold-out shows and critical acclaim on the latest run of the Crush The World Tour captivating audiences and showcasing the latest and greatest hits.

Shot Through The Heart: Jon Bon Jovi Opens Up About Hulu Docuseries ‘Thank You, Goodnight’
Forty years after putting down the Power Station broom and picking up the microphone, Jon Bon Jovi is in an introspective mood.
The man who co-wrote iconic songs including “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Keep the Faith” is preparing for the release of Hulu ’s four-part docuseries Thank You, Goodnight, directed by Gotham Chopra.

Jon Bon Jovi Hulu Docuseries ‘Thank You, Goodnight’ Unveils Official Trailer Which Chronicles Band’s 40-Year History – Update
2024 Premiere Dates For New & Returning Series On Broadcast, Cable & Streaming
Thank You, Goodnight , which premieres April 26, highlights the highs and lows of being in a band, the drugs and the difficulties of remaining successful and wanting to evolve but not wanting to alienate its audience, in addition to its leader’s health issues. It’s not a “VH1 puff piece,” according to Bon Jovi.
Was it tough to open up? Jon Bon Jovi, sitting in a hotel room in Los Angeles, told Deadline that it wasn’t.
“One thing I do know about a 40-year career is, if you don’t tell the truth, the lies will catch up to you,” he said. “You won’t remember who you bullshitted. It’s always best to just tell the honest-to-God truth. Then you can remember what you said. I don’t mind living that truth. Part of our continuing success is that I’m not trying to be something I used to be. This isn’t the ‘80s — I’m not here on a nostalgia tour. We have a new record coming that I’m very excited about, I’m not dying my hair, I’m not a fat Elvis, any of that horseshit.”
The series is chronological. Each episode — “New Jersey vs Everybody,” “Nowhere to Everywhere,” “Brothers in Arms” and “Legendary” – ostensibly tackles a decade in the band’s career. It kicks off with their formation in Sayreville, N.J., in 1983 after Jon spent years playing in Asbury Park with the Atlantic City Expressway, John Bongiovi and the Wild Ones and The Rest, including a memorable appearance by his hero Bruce Springsteen at The Fast Lane in 1980. “Fortunately, there was a still picture,” he said.
It’s Sambora’s appearance in the documentary that makes it sizzle. “I’m excited — are we telling the truth or we gonna lie?,” Sambora asks when he’s first introduced.
Sambora left the band in 2013. The third episode deals with his departure; addiction and family issues were involved (as well as mounting frustration over recording, in particular, a guitar part on What About Now ’s “The Fighter”).
In the series, Jon Bon Jovi is asked whether he and Richie have discussed it since (they both appeared at the band’s entry into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018). “No, not for lack of f*cking trying,” the singer says.
Jon says that he and Sambora are “fine” now.
“He came to see me in August, and we spent the night. Great, but, you know, 10 years ago, he decided to quit the band,” he said. “Everything was just fine, but we had a show that night. I’m going to try to say this the best way I possibly can: I was learning how to write songs and making songs. This is a band that I put together, that he was the last member to join. Then he really took an integral part by the third album, for sure. Then he left us 10 years ago. There was a before, so there’s going to be an after. I shouldn’t be questioned as to how I got a record deal and why I still have the record deal and why the band continues. With all due respect, and I mean this lovingly, when he left the band, we were heartbroken, but there was not a question of our continuing.”
Jon added that the “door is always open” for Sambora’s return. “Phil X has done an incredible job. John Shanks, my co-producer and buddy, he’s done nine of my albums,” he said. “We’d look like Lynyrd Skynyrd, but f*ck yeah, come on up. There’s always another guitar to plug in.”
Thank You, Goodnight started at a breakfast between Jon Bon Jovi and director Chopra, son of Deepak Chopra. The younger Chopra founded Religion of Sports with Tom Brady and Michael Strahan in 2016. He has directed series including Facebook Watch’s Tom vs. Time and ESPN+’s The Man in the Arena: Tom Brady . Jon Bon Jovi is a big Patriots fan.
“The breakfast we had was about the 40 years,” Chopra told Deadline. “Maybe we’d do four parts and break it up by decades. That was exciting and interesting. But then it was, ‘Tell me more about this tour that’s coming up’ — this was way before the surgery, and that just had real-time stakes. That was Year 39, at that point it wasn’t entirely clear if [they were] going to reach Year 40 from a performance standpoint. To [Jon’s] credit, not just his willingness to talk about it but to let it be documented.”
The band’s career was heavily documented since it began. The first two episodes features clips of its stadium slots with bands such as Scorpions and KISS following the success of its first album, the relatively poor performance of follow-up 7800° Fahrenheit , working with Desmond Child and Bruce Fairbairn on 1986’s Slippery When Wet , which became a giant hit, as did their next record New Jersey in 1988. There’s footage of the band’s journey to the Soviet Union – thanks to their manager Doc McGhee’s drug arrest – for the Moscow Music Peace Festival as well as their somewhat strange tour ender in Guadalajara.
Jon Bon Jovi clearly also is a hoarder, as viewers see him go through tapes of demos and lost tracks.
“I have a big space for this stuff,” he said. “Knowing that the 40th was on the horizon, because it’s about Year 38 at this point, I started thinking about it. There was bags and bags with 30 or 40 unreleased songs. There’s a couple of ’80s- and ’90s-era hits that I was like, ‘Why didn’t I put these on records?”
He added that he now is going through this archive to create a “virtual museum” of audio and video.
This comes as the band is gearing up to release Legendary , its 16th studio album, in June. But that record was made in the shadow of vocal fold medialization surgery after it became clear that Jon’s voice was not what it used to be.
He calls the vocal-cord issues “horrible.”
“Could you imagine that one cord is literally atrophy? It’s dying. The strong one is pushing the weak one, and you’re singing out of tune. I pride myself on being a singer. I’ve sung with Pavarotti. I know how to sing. Now, it’s like that athlete where you’ve got to figure it out again. I’m well into the process. But that was daunting.”
Jon Bon Jovi added that he feels the surgery was a success but that he’s “still participating in the process on a daily basis.”
“I think we did a pretty good job of covering the 40 [years],” he said. “If anything, I wish that there was an Episode 5 now, because so much has happened since we’ve wrapped.”
The majority of Bon Jovi’s peers never really made it past the ‘80s. Grunge killed off the majority of hair metal bands, and times changed. But the band kept going, and instead of relying on its previous hits, chalked up new No. 1s with such songs as 2000’s “It’s My Life” (from Crush ) as well as “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” (from 2005’s Have a Nice Day ).
The message seems clear: Work your ass off.
“There’s some kid in his bedroom right now that’s gunning for you,” he said. “It’s not dissimilar to being an athlete or a quarterback. There’s always somebody that’s coming up behind you. The work ethic was born out of who and what we were as children, who our parents brought us up to be. But then as you grow up, you’re proud of the work you do. You better have been good enough to ask Mr. and Mrs. Smith for their hard-earned dollar. I’m not going out on the road unless we’re great. You’ll never see the fat Elvis.”
Chopra compares him to Brady and Kobe Bryant, who he worked with on Showtime’s Kobe Bryant’s Muse .
“He’s similar just in terms of process, the work ethic, the obsession with details but constantly experimenting and especially with the healing, trying new things and very progressive in terms of all this stuff,” he said. “There’s also the resilience. He reminds me a lot of Kobe’s combativeness. Tom’s kind of a pushover, Jon is not, but that’s great. It creates tension, and that’s a good thing. You also adapt the filmmaking style around the subject.”
In the closing episode, Jon Bon Jovi says that he’s been “incredibly blessed” over the past 40 years, so “if it’s time to turn left, not bad.”
But did he ever worry about making a documentary about the band’s legacy while it was still going?
“Hence the title — Thank You, Goodnight , because no one knows the ending.”

Fact Sheet on FTC’s Proposed Final Noncompete Rule
- Competition
- Office of Policy Planning
- Bureau of Competition
The following outline provides a high-level overview of the FTC’s proposed final rule :
- Specifically, the final rule provides that it is an unfair method of competition—and therefore a violation of Section 5 of the FTC Act—for employers to enter into noncompetes with workers after the effective date.
- Fewer than 1% of workers are estimated to be senior executives under the final rule.
- Specifically, the final rule defines the term “senior executive” to refer to workers earning more than $151,164 annually who are in a “policy-making position.”
- Reduced health care costs: $74-$194 billion in reduced spending on physician services over the next decade.
- New business formation: 2.7% increase in the rate of new firm formation, resulting in over 8,500 additional new businesses created each year.
- This reflects an estimated increase of about 3,000 to 5,000 new patents in the first year noncompetes are banned, rising to about 30,000-53,000 in the tenth year.
- This represents an estimated increase of 11-19% annually over a ten-year period.
- The average worker’s earnings will rise an estimated extra $524 per year.

A priest sprinkles holy water on believers holding willow branches during an Orthodox Palm Sunday service.
The service is being held in Donetsk, in an area occupied by Russian forces.
Russia gained full control of the city of Donetsk in October 2022, but the area has been a major site of fighting since 2014.
The majority of people in Ukraine are Orthodox Christian, although they follow different branches.
As we've been reporting, Russia has been pushing forward in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region.
Ukrainian military officials say their troops are falling back to new positions in at least three places along the frontlines.
But they are facing public criticism about the transparency of their military updates.
Ukrainian military blogger Myroshnykov and Ukraine's DeepState monitoring group, which updates daily changes in frontline positions, both say the updates have been unrealistic.
DeepState shared a video on social media of a Russian soldier being killed in a drone strike in the village of Soloviove, arguing such footage was being used to mask a bigger picture.
"You can watch with pleasure forever the video of a Russian [soldier] being torn to pieces, but nearby there is another location that requires attention: Muscovites calmly moving around the village, keeping it under control.
"The [Ukrainian] Defence Forces inflict fire damage on them, and one can repeat at least a billion times that two-thirds of the village is under the control of the Ukrainian military, but the picture of reality is completely different."
It appeared to be referring to a statement from Nazar Voloshyn, a spokesperson for Ukraine's military in the east, who also said the nearby village of Ocheretyne was still two-thirds controlled by Ukraine.
However, DeepState says it believes Russian troops have been in control of the centre of Ocheretyne for at least three days.
The site accused some military spokespersons of incompetence last week.
Police have arrested a 57-year-old Russian on suspicion of murder following the killings yesterday evening, German news agency dpa reported.
The two Ukrainians were 23 and 36 years old, and lived in the southern German county of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
They were killed at a shopping centre in the village of Murnau in Upper Bavaria.
The names of the victims and suspect have not been released due to German privacy rules.
It is not clear if the men knew each other.
More than one million Ukrainian refugees fled to Germany following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Donald Trump's stance on Ukraine is "not as black and white as some people think", the Polish foreign minister has said.
The former US president, who is running for election again this year, has said he will not commit to providing Ukraine with defence assistance.
Republicans aligned with Mr Trump were also the reason behind a six-month delay to aid for Ukraine.
But foreign minister Radoslaw Sikorski said in an interview with the Axel Springer media company that Mr Trump had sent Ukraine anti-tank missiles before Russia's invasion "when others were not doing it".
He was referring to Javelin anti-tank missiles supplied by the US in 2018.
Mr Sikorski also said Mr Trump was "right in urging us all in Europe to spend more on defence".
He said he "did not hear any protests from Trump" once the $61bn aid package for Ukraine was approved.
"So, I hope that candidate Trump has seen that this opposition to helping Ukraine is not actually popular in the United States, that it is harming his chances [to be re-elected]," he added.
Earlier we reported that a top Ukrainian general said troops had fallen back from three villages in the east of the country.
We can now bring you more from Oleksandr Syrskyi, the chief of Ukraine's armed forces, about the situation on the ground.
Mr Syrskyi said the Donetsk region (in the east) remains one of the hottest sectors of the frontline as Russia continues its offensive.
He described the situation in the eastern cities of Pokrovsk and Kurakhove as "the most difficult one" now.
Russia is reportedly using up to four brigades (anywhere from an estimated 8,000 to 32,000 personnel) to conduct assault operations in the direction of both the cities, which lie west of Avdiivka, which was captured earlier this year.
Mr Syrskyi said the situation is changing "dynamically" on the frontline as a result.
Meanwhile, Mr Syrskyi said the situation in the south also remains "intense" as Russia tries to advance near the village of Krynky in Kherson.
It also wants to advance towards the villages of Robotyne and Verbove villages in Zaporizhzhia.
Since 2023, there's been a record 30% increase in Russian men aged 31-59 with disabilities, the UK's Ministry of Defence says.
In data provided by the MoD, there were 2.17 million Russian men aged 31-59 with disabilities, up from 1.67 million the year before.
It said the increase may be down to a growth in military casualties.
Two people have been injured after Russian strikes in the cities of Kupiansk and Vovchansk, local authorities have said.
A 52-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment after being injured, the military administration in Kharkiv said.
Meanwhile, a 36-year-old woman was trapped under rubble and was given medical care after being rescued.
Both cities are in the region of Kharkiv with Vovchansk close to the Russian border and frontline, while Kupiansk is crucial for logistics.
Fighting in eastern Ukraine has worsened, with troops falling back to new positions in at least three places along the frontlines, Ukraine's top general has said.
Oleksandr Syrskyi said in a statement on the Telegram messaging app that his troops had taken up new positions west of the villages of Berdychi, Semenivka and Novomykhailivka in order to conserve their forces.
All three villages are in the Donetsk region of Ukraine.
Mr Syrskyi said Russian troops "achieved certain tactical successes in these areas, but could not gain operational advantages".
Earlier, we reported that the Russian defence ministry claimed that they had taken the village of Novobakhmutivka which is in the same region.
Ukraine has not commented on the claim.
Led by a 68-year-old commander known as Grandpa, Ukraine's Steppe Wolves unit, is made up of volunteers who are considered too old to fight - but still want to.
Staying behind the frontline, the mobile artillery unit use truck-mounted rocket launchers, take orders from field commanders and work with other troops, contributing to the war effort despite lacking official support from the military.
"We... get by thanks to the pension fund," commander Oleksandr Taran said.
The unit also depends on donations, in order to repair faulty rounds and capture weapons from the enemy.
Mr Taran said his unit has been attempting to officially join Ukraine's armed forces to directly receive ammunition - and salaries - but has so far been unsuccessful.
Younger men who have been ruled unfit to fight have also joined Mr Taran's unit.
Estimates by the UK's minister for the armed forces say 450,000 Russian military personnel have been killed or wounded in Ukraine.
Leo Docherty told the UK Defence Journal that in addition to those killed, tens of thousands of people have deserted the Russian military since the start of the war in February 2022.
He said he did not know the number of personnel that were killed serving in Russian private military companies like the Wagner Group.
Turning his attention to estimates on weapons, Mr Docherty said over 10,000 Russian armoured vehicles, including nearly 3,000 main battle tanks, 109 fixed wing aircraft, 136 helicopters, 346 unmanned aerial vehicles, 23 naval vessels of all classes, and over 1,500 artillery systems have been destroyed, abandoned or captured by Ukraine in over two years.
