“We stick to the archetypes. A literal world isn’t interesting. We’re trying to put a skin around the symbols and myths that civilization has told itself for 10,000 years. The better the symbol and the more universal the myth, the more people can create a world for themselves from their memories and desires. That’s the goal: Give the audience enough raw material to make the world their own.”

— Tyler Lyle of The Midnight

The Midnight, the duo of producer Tim Daniel McEwan and singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle, are masters of flipping the disparate archetypes of yearning American youth — think everything from John Hughes films and the Smashing Pumpkins’ “1979” music video to Snapchats of ravers losing it to a big bass drop and the lonesome sway of the “lofi hip hop radio – beats to study / relax to” YouTube channel — into their own modern collage that finds a throughline between generations of teenage ennui.

Their music fuses this Americana with an evocative electronic palette that incorporates synth-driven film scores, dance music, synth-pop, and rock, creating an enveloping harmony of richly textured sonics and poignant lyrical imagery. Each song cultivates a story written on a bedrock of universal themes and eternal hooks, coming together to create a body of work that unifies an enthusiastic global fan base.

This movement McEwan and Lyle have been building since 2014 began online with their debut album Days of Thunder, and over the past six years has become an encompassing, multi-sensory opportunity to find community wherever someone goes. Fans come together online on every platform imaginable, streaming and downloading their previous releases – Endless Summer (2016), Nocturnal (2017) and Kids (2018) millions of times, and jumping over to spaces like social media and Reddit to hermeneutically dissect The Midnight’s body of work with a loving passion. They come together, 15,000 at once, to experience a livestream benefit the band puts together. They make fan videos. They blast the records at parties and crank up the volume on their car stereos. They show up by the thousands to sold-out shows on multiple continents. Fans see themselves in the movement and want to bring in more people. With The Midnight, you’re never alone.

Since their beginning McEwan and Lyle have been building progressively more complex yet eminently relatable worlds — their most-recent effort earning the top spot on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic charts and getting songs placed in shows like 13 Reasons Why. These architects use meticulously crafted music, a stunning visual aesthetic, and engaging live shows to tap into our quietest and most wistful tendencies, the unbridled sense of joy we have within us, and our infinite desire to surrender ourselves to the collective charisma of togetherness.

The ingredients of this come from a blend of markedly different experiences. McEwan grew up in Denmark and got his start in pop-music production working with acts like Sean “Diddy” Combs, New Kids on the Block, and The Wanted before he and Lyle met in 2014 in Los Angeles. Lyle hails from the Alabama-Georgia line, forging an indie-folk music career, releasing albums such as The Golden Age & The Silver Girl and co-writing music with Court Yard Hounds, among other acts.

Their fateful pairing in Los Angeles yielded Days of Thunder, which features concert staples “Gloria” and “Los Angeles” and laid the foundation for The Midnight’s seamless blend of stirring narratives and magnetic electronic music. With each release, Tim’s interest in musicians like Toto, Phil Collins, and Thomas Newman, and Tyler’s attraction to the songs of people like Springsteen, Dylan, and John Prine, have blended together more immaculately, creating richer work for listeners to explore.

A key element of The Midnight’s work is the visual art that accompanies their music. The cover art for their albums and singles, and the still images and videos on their social media accounts, all complement the themes and motivations involved in their storytelling.

“I love the visual side of the music,” McEwan says. “Adding that dimension and building that world is so fun. You’re able to be much more precise with what you want the listener to feel.”

The imagery shifts considerably on the cover for forthcoming album, Monsters. In it, we see a dark bedroom with an old PC monitor and snowy T.V. offering the primary source of dim light. On the floor is an original Playstation next to a pizza box. A backpack and skateboard are close by. On the walls are film posters with the titles of each of the album’s songs. This is a snapshot of a late night spent vacillating between playing around on the internet and the pull of a super fun console video game system — it’s a teen’s lair and in it we see ourselves.

That cover shows a pronounced preview into the world of Monsters. The 15-track album, a sequel to 2018’s Kids and second record in an intended trilogy, finds McEwan and Lyle embracing new sounds while retaining the DNA of what has made them so compelling. There is a balance of the familiar with a drive to elevate the songwriting and the sonic palette into new, exciting areas. This mirrors the transition from being “just a kid” to being a complicated, heart-afire teenager.

“I wanted the wonder of coming of age to shine through and combine that with the inherent darkness and complexity of being a teenager,” McEwan says. “I wanted it to feel a lot more adult and emo than Kids. Adolescence is messy, tragic, brutal, wistful and beautiful. Monsters is all of that.”

The teenage years can be marked with isolation. For every homecoming dance, prom, or surreptitious party at a friend’s parent-free house, there are hours spent online deep into the night — with merely the blue light of a monitor guiding the way. This is as true for the kids now as it was for their parents. Isolation and connection are key themes on Monsters.

Lyle says the album tackles some big questions that arise during adolescence and might not necessarily find a resolution into the adult years: “How vulnerable can I be? How do you learn that? What sort of boundaries can and should be placed around the human heart? What is lost if I reach out and have my heart broken, but what is lost if I don’t?” Along those lines, Monsters — like its predecessors in The Midnight’s catalogue — isn’t stuck in the past. It’s not about wanting to go back, so much as it is a story of how we manage our own monsters to build a suitably connected life.

Ultimately, when that last note hits, The Midnight have us prepared for the next album, the third in the Kids trilogy. We started out finding universal themes and common ground in our childhoods, then we shifted to the beautiful brutality of adolescence, and now we’re ready to contemplate the stakes of adulthood. We may find ourselves in the songs of Monsters — we may come up with our own interpretations of the symbols — but we’ve had Lyle and McEwan guiding us with love and respect throughout the journey.

“As we become aware of where our sounds are and why people stick with us,” Lyle says, “we want to do two things: make sure there are enough comfortable moments, and we also want to push the sonics and the songwriting into new worlds as we create a bridge for listeners to come along — rather than just dropping them into it without a map.”

The Midnight is embarking on a much-awaited outing this fall to promote their forthcoming album, Heroes. The 17-date extensive trek titled Change Your Heart Tour makes a stop at the Hollywood Palladium on Sunday, 2nd October 2022! The long-awaited show will feature a setlist packed with The Midnight’s biggest hits, fan favorites, and new songs from their latest studio release! The show at the Hollywood Palladium will start with an electrifying performance by Nightly before The Midnight conquers the stage. If you love indie rock and new wave, grab your tickets now and experience The Midnight’s coveted show in Los Angeles!

The Midnight is a synth wave pop band comprising Tim McEwan and Tyler Lyle. Formed in 2012, the band’s music contains several influences from indie rock, pop, new wave, and electronic music. In 2018, The Midnight started an album trilogy with their sophomore studio release, Kids. Two years later, they dropped a follow-up album, Monsters, which peaked at 134 on the Billboard 200 and debuted at numbers 3 and 18 on the Top Dance/Electronica and Top Independent Albums charts. This September, the band is set to release the final installment to the trilogy, Heroes. The album was preceded by singles, “Change Your Heart or Die” and “Heartbeat,” giving listeners a taste of what they can expect from their new release. During an interview, Lyle explained the themes of each installment. "For me, Kids is self-knowledge, Monsters is self-love, and then Heroes is empathy. I got into depth psychology and this idea of etiology, the way a human forms. The world doesn't get better, but we do. We grow into ourselves. We grow into our voice."

The alternative pop trio, Nightly, will join The Midnight at the Hollywood Palladium. The band, composed of Jonathan Capeci and Joey Beretta, and Nicholas Sainato, made their introduction to the music scene with their debut EP, Honest. The highly-acclaimed 2016 EP was released via Interscope Records. Shortly after their debut, Nightly dropped two more EPs before ending their working relationship with Interscope. In 2020, Nightly signed with BMG records and finally dropped their first full studio album, night, love you.

Tickets to see The Midnight and Nightly rock it out at the Hollywood Palladium are now available!

INTERVIEW: The Midnight are exploring the electronic and rock band worlds

It’s always nice to be in a place that feels like home – and that’s exactly how things were for The Midnight when they performed at The Bellwether in Los Angeles on July 30.

the midnight tour los angeles

Introducing “Los Angeles” from their 2016 album  Endless Summer , The Midnight singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle told the crowd that he and Tim McEwan (producer/drums) met and got their start right up the road in North Hollywood. McEwan, who lives east of Pasadena, says that LA will always be where he built a life and a career. Lyle now lives in Atlanta, where he grew up, though his wife’s family is from the LA area – meaning LA “always will feel like a second city.” He explains that “there are so many wonderful creative people all in a very close proximity…. Being where the energy is compels you to stay in the energy, if that makes sense. It creates its own reverberations. Whereas in Atlanta, I am kind of a hermit in my music creation.”

Speaking with  Substream  a few days after the show, Lyle mentioned how friendly the promoters at The Bellwether were – and how appreciative he was of “a massive pot of live, beautiful orchids in the green room, which I thought – ‘wow, that never happens in a green room.'” The show was sold out, and Lyle further felt that the shape of the room made for good sound. “You don’t normally think about that in the audience, but as a performer, sound travels in weird ways, and it was a good-sounding room from stage.” McEwan appreciated “the sense of being close to people” at The Bellwether and being able to see everyone in the room, and contrasts this to venues like Danforth Music Hall in Toronto – a long, concrete room with a low ceiling with “horrible acoustics. But also, you can’t really see people.”

Beginning on September 16 – a month and a half after playing The Bellwether – The Midnight will embark on a headlining tour, covering the eastern half of the country and parts of the Midwest and South. Discussing the setlist for the upcoming tour, McEwan believes it’ll “probably [be] close-ish” to what they played at The Bellwether – a setlist that spanned the band’s discography, with emphasis on tracks from  Endless Summer . Lyle thinks back to last fall’s tour in support of their 2022 album  Heroes  – it was “a big rock band tour,” where McEwan played live drums – and contrasts it to their set at Bonnaroo in June, where they leaned more into the EDM vibe. The show at The Bellwether “was kind of an altered Bonnaroo set for us,” and as they prepare for the fall tour, “we’ll tweak it a little more, probably add a little bit of the rock band thing and give it some more moments.” McEwan feels strongly about the direction the band explored with their Bonnaroo set: “It was sort of an intentional move of, like, we want to go put one of our feet back into the electronic world in which we came from. So hopefully, we can have the best of both worlds.”

Officially, they’d call themselves “synth wave,” but fans who saw The Midnight live at The Bellwether in Los Angeles at the end of July were treated to a show that took plenty of influence and inspiration from the world of live rock bands: Lyle and McEwan were joined on stage by Lelia Broussard (guitar, vocals), Royce Whittaker (guitar), and Justin Klunk (saxophone), all of whom played on  Heroes  and will likely return for The Midnight’s next record. Working with Broussard, Whittaker, and Klunk is “a creative partnership in many different ways;” Broussard and Whittaker were part of the making of  Heroes , as was frequent collaborator Nikki Flores. Flores and Broussard produced and edited a lot of the vocals on  Heroes ; Whittaker was heavily involved due to how guitar-heavy the record was. McEwan shares, “Essentially, the way we look at this is, we’re in the studio right now fiddling around. And then when it gets to a certain point, we sort of see who would be – if we need something. Do we want sax? Well, we’re gonna call Justin. There’s people that have a certain skill set; we know we can use if and when we need it, so it functions in that way.”

After sitting on demos and song sketches for a few months, Lyle says, “Now is the important phase of Tim and I coming together and going, ‘I think this works. I think this doesn’t work.’ And once we have a small collection of songs, we’ll be like, ‘Oh, this is the footprint. This is the blueprint of the record.'” Of course, living on different coasts can make it harder to work together. “It’s always best when we can get in the same room,” McEwan adds, but when they can’t, “we use this new internet that the young people keep talking about.” After writing separately, when speaking to  Substream , he and Lyle were just a few days into working together in the studio. They’re now in a phase where “you throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks and see what works.” Coming to the table with ideas, they’re able to hone in on songs and ideas that will eventually shape the record – “It’s the fun part of the process, and not part of the process where I’m pulling out my hair.”

Heroes  was the third installment in a trilogy of records that The Midnight released, the first two being  Kids  in 2018 and  Monsters  in 2020. Moving on to the next chapter is freeing, and as they get to work on the next record, McEwan mentions that they’ve “set forth an intention.”  Heroes  pulled inspiration from ’80s and ’90s anthemic stadium rock, and the duo is now eager to “go back into the electronic space.” McEwan has been “going deep in the 90s, electronic hole of trance and some rave culture stuff. And we were just raving out hard yesterday in the studio, going down various rabbit holes.” Lyle continues that “fun is the MO” and reflects on how liberating the Bonnaroo set was for him as the lead singer: “[The Midnight is] such a musical project, and we, live, at least, have never given it a chance to build and crash in this EDM sort of way. And so, to get me out of my, you know, ‘you’re the frontman of a rock band’ into more of like, ‘well, I could play a synthesizer and hang back, and we could just vibe out for 10 minutes.’ That is exciting to me. That’s an exciting palette. And it’s an exciting sort of new collection of songs to choose from for live.”

On stage at The Bellwether, Lyle made his way to the front of the stage plenty of times – but rather than set up in front of everyone else, his synthesizer was pulled back, ever so slightly behind Broussard. He explains, “We’re tiptoeing into these waters and trying to see what it would feel like to go to the other end of rock world and introduce, I think we have eight synthesizers on stage. I’m going to try and have- I got into modular synthesizers over the pandemic, which is the wires and the patching and all that. I brought that to Bonnaroo, and it was incredibly fun. It’s a really finicky machine that doesn’t like to be played live. But I’m going to try and skin it in such a way that we can use that hopefully on stage in the fall, as well.”

If this article is your first exposure to The Midnight, welcome: the band has an active online fan community with plenty to get immersed in. After The Midnight is a YouTube video series and podcast that explores each of The Midnight’s songs in depth. There’s also an active Wiki for The Midnight – branded to fit the vibe of The Midnight’s visuals, with a black background and neon lettering, The Midnight Wiki has sections for songs, releases, and tours; people (the members of the band); fan-submitted photos (under the “Lost Boy’s Polaroids” header); and even band and fandom lore. While Lyle and McEwan aren’t involved in the Wiki, when discussing the small, dedicated group of fans in charge – they name Timothy Collins in South Carolina and Julia Lax in Brighton, England – Lyle says, “We love those people. And we give them big hugs when we see them.” McEwan recalls doing an interview with After The Midnight: “Those guys are great. We love those guys. And they do an amazing job. And that’s completely without our involvement in the sense that they have just taken it and ran with it. And that’s really what we’ve found since it’s sort of picked up steam in the last, I guess, 5,6,7 years where the momentum started happening a little bit, and there was a community and a fan base… we make the music, but then it takes people to care enough to want to do something with it. And then that becomes really fun to watch.”

The Midnight don’t yet have a timeline to release their next record, but Lyle hints at something to come: “We’re working on some things that are not music that we can’t share yet, but it would be nice to have multiple offerings from different sorts of mediums.” Regarding the upcoming headlining tour, he continues, “It’s gonna be a five-piece; it’s going to be our biggest production. These will be the biggest rooms we’ve been in. We’re very excited, and then we’ll be flying under the radar in Los Angeles making tracks.”

Los Angeles

Days of thunder - ep.jpg

Los Angeles [1] is a song by The Midnight . It is the sixth and final track from their EP Days of Thunder .

The song was written by band members Tim McEwan and Tyler Lyle and produced by McEwan. Lyle's wife Anna sings backing vocals on the song's final chorus, in an uncredited appearance. [2] It has a running time of six minutes and 29 seconds and is in the key of A major .

According to McEwan, the lyrics for Los Angeles were written by Lyle as a tribute to the city itself when Lyle moved from the area to New York City. [3] Los Angeles is where McEwan and Lyle first met prior to becoming The Midnight. [4] The song is frequently performed towards or at the end of the band's setlist when they perform live.

Los Angeles was one of the four songs whose stems were made available to download during the first The Midnight Remix Radio competition.

Fire on the beach Face to the sky The stars dance around like gods in disguise The gold silhouette You take off your clothes And my heart feels the weight of all I don't know Memories and mountain tops Drunk on Sunset Boulevard With the city of angels singing on Maybe this is just a dream And maybe we are still asleep But I, I will miss you when I'm gone Flickers of the canyon fire Its hands raised like a gospel choir If we live forever, let us live forever tonight Helicopters against the moonlight Our holy mother of the midnight And if we live forever, let us live forever tonight Tomorrow we'll go Back to our lives With sand in our skin and sun in our eyes But I know the truth I've seen the signs And I've seen the golden gods in disguise Memories and mountain tops Drunk on Sunset Boulevard With the city of angels singing on Maybe this is just a dream And maybe we are still asleep But I, I will miss you when I'm gone Flickers of the canyon fire Its hands raised like a gospel choir If we live forever, let us live forever tonight Helicopters against the moonlight Our holy mother of the midnight And if we live forever, let us live forever tonight Flickers of the canyon fire Its hands raised like a gospel choir If we live forever, let us live forever tonight Helicopters against the moonlight Our holy mother of the midnight And if we live forever, let us live forever tonight Flickers of the canyon fire Its hands raised like a gospel choir If we live forever, let us live forever tonight Helicopters against the moonlight Our holy mother of the midnight And if we live forever, let us live forever tonight

A guide to everyone Taylor Swift sings about in ‘Tortured Poets Department’ — and their reactions

Taylor Swift didn’t hold back on calling everyone out on her newest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” and the reactions are rolling in.

The surprise double album was released in two parts on April 19, giving exuberant Swifties plenty of material to analyze — including multiple celebrity call-outs.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian sitting alertly in a brown leather chair in a black jacket and top looking straight ahead

Swift and Kardashian have a long-standing feud, which started with Swift and Ye back in the day and goes back to Kimye’s infamous doctored phone call , which appeared to prove Taylor had given consent for a nude wax figure of her to appear in Kanye’s “Famous” music video. TLDR: The call was edited, but Swift was ripped to shreds online anyway, an experience that inspired her now legendary “Reputation” album.

Swift isn’t quite letting Kardashian off the hook, and “TTPD’s” “thanK you aIMee” pointedly had the letters of Kardashian’s first name capitalized in the title.

Taylor Swift turns heel, owning her chaos and messiness on ‘The Tortured Poets Department’

Swift’s 11th studio LP, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ released at midnight Eastern time, follows a busy period in the 34-year-old’s personal and professional spheres.

April 18, 2024

“And so I changed your name and any real defining clues / And one day, your kid comes home singin’ / A song that only us two is gonna know is about you,” Taylor wrote, apparently referencing daughter North West’s TikToks that have featured her songs in the past.

Kardashian didn’t respond directly to the taunt, but she did post a throwback photo with Swift’s ex-best friend Karlie Kloss on mutual pal Derek Blasberg’s birthday. Whether it was a coincidence is anyone’s guess.

Matty Healy

The 1975 frontman was the surprise “TTPD” guest star. He and the “Bejeweled” singer appeared to have had a short fling following her split from Joe Alwyn, but the lyrics in “TTPD” have led to speculation that the two were involved for far longer.

The title track is particularly damning: “You left your typewriter at my apartment,” Swift sings, referencing Healy’s apparent penchant for the old-school device. (“Who uses typewriters anyway?” she later asks.)

Swift goes on to call him a “tattooed golden retriever” before describing his smoking habits.

“But you tell Lucy you’d kill yourself if I ever leave / And I had said that to Jack about you so I felt seen,” she continues, referencing Boygenius member Lucy Dacus, who performed with Swift on the Eras tour, and her producer and bestie Jack Antonoff. Sounds super healthy and normal!

The best songs from Taylor Swift’s ‘Tortured Poets Department’ double album

Taylor Swift released the 16-track “Tortured Poets Department” at the stroke of midnight on Friday — and surprised fans with 15 more songs two hours later. Here are the best songs from the double album.

April 19, 2024

And all that’s from just one song. “But Daddy I Love Him,” “Fresh Out the Slammer,” “Guilty as Sin?,” “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)” and “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” all pile on the blame.

Healy responded coolly on Wednesday. “I haven’t really listened to that much of it,” the singer told paparazzi, “but I’m sure it’s good.”

His tone marks a stark difference from when he called dating Swift “ emasculating .”

His mom, Denise Welch, was similarly unbothered, saying on British talk show “Loose Women” that she “wasn’t aware [Swift] had an album out at all.”

Unlikely, considering “TTPD” just became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day, but whatever.

Joe Alwyn standing in front of a leafy green background in a black jacket, white button-down shirt and black tie

Just as fans predicted, Taylor’s ex-boyfriend of six years was spared little sympathy. Even the album title is supposedly a reference to the name of a group chat between the actor, Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott, called the “Tortured Man Club.”

“So Long, London” is Taylor’s most obvious hit at Alwyn, considering he inspired the track “London Boy” on her 2019 album “Lover.”

“I didn’t opt in to be your odd man out,” she sings about the end of their relationship. “I founded the club she’s heard great things about / I left all I knew, you left me at the house by the Heath.”

The 5 tracks you need to hear from Taylor Swift’s surprise ‘Tortured Poets’ companion

Released two hours after “The Tortured Poets Department” on Thursday night, Taylor Swift’s second set of new songs contains a handful of highlights.

It’s clear Alwyn promised Swift a lot more than what he gave her. In “LOML” she laments how “You s—-talked me under the table / Talkin’ rings and talkin’ cradles / I wish I could unrecall / How we almost had it all.”

The marriage references don’t stop. In “imgonnagetyouback,” Swift tries to decide “whether I’m gonna be your wife or gonna smash up your bike.”

Fans have also latched onto a line in “Fortnight,” which features Post Malone, as proof that Alwyn wasn’t always faithful to Swift. “My husband is cheating, I wanna kill him,” Swift sings.

According to a source , Alwyn “has listened to the album, and he is slightly disappointed, but not surprised at all.” Maybe he’s upset about Healy stealing his spotlight?

Travis Kelce

NFL star Travis Kelce speaks at a microphone while seated in his Kansas City Chiefs uniform

Of course, Swift couldn’t leave current beau Kelce behind. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is the apparent subject of “The Alchemy” and “So High School,” both of which are riddled with football metaphors.

“The greatest in the league / Where’s the trophy? / He just comes running over to me,” she sings in “The Alchemy,” referencing the couple’s viral kiss after Kelce‘s team won the Super Bowl in February.

“You know how to ball, I know Aristotle,” she added in “So High School.” “You knew what you wanted and, boy, you got her,” she concludes in the song, alluding to how Kelce pursued her after seeing her perform on the Eras tour.

Science & Medicine

Taylor Swift’s new album is rife with breakup songs. Psychologists explain why we love them

Taylor Swift’s new ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ album draws inspiration from her own breakups. What attracts us to songs about failed relationships?

“I have heard some of it, yes, and it is unbelievable,” Kelce said at a sports event in February, ahead of the album’s release. “I can’t wait for her to shake up the world when it finally drops.”

He’s “very proud of her,” a source told E! News after the record dropped earlier this month.

“Travis is so supportive of the entire album,” the source continued, “and loves that he is a part of Taylor’s story.”

Kelce’s mom, Donna, even chimed in the conversation with her own praise. “I listened to the whole album, and I listened to it all morning long when it was released,” she told People this week.

“I was just very impressed,” she said. “She is a very talented woman, and I think it is probably her best work.”

Ahead of her Indy tour stop this year, Taylor Swift releases her eleventh studio album

the midnight tour los angeles

Are you ready for it?

Ahead of her concert later this year in Indy, Taylor Swift released her highly-anticipated eleventh studio album "The Tortured Poets Department" on Friday.

Still no word on "Reputation (Taylor's Version)" though (sorry, Swifties).

Here's what we know about her new album.

When does 'The Tortured Poets Department' release?

Swift's newest album, "The Tortured Poets Department" dropped at midnight on April 19. Then at 2 a.m. she released a deluxe version of the album, "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology."

How manys songs are in 'The Tortured Poets Department'?

The original album consists of 16 songs, with four additional bonus tracks that were advertised as only available on certain vinyls or CDs. Each vinyl or CD variant includes a different one of the bonus tracks.

Making bonus tracks only available on physical copies and releasing them on streaming later is becoming a more common practice.

Swift did this with her previous album "Midnights" where the bonus track "You're Losing Me" was only available on a few CDs sold at live shows. Olivia Rodrigo recently released a deluxe version of her sophomore album "Guts," which includes all four of the bonus tracks that were originally only available on certain vinyl pressings, plus one new song.

Swift moved much quicker than that for this album.

By releasing the deluxe version of the album on streaming at 2 a.m., only two hours after the original dropped, 15 extra tracks, including the bonus tracks only on vinyl and cd, became available to stream.

So now all bonus tracks for this album are available on streaming, but not all the deluxe songs have physical copies (that we know of, yet).

When did Taylor Swift announce 'The Tortured Poets Department'?

At the Grammy Awards on Feb. 4, while accepting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album for her previous album "Midnights," Swift announced her next project, another album titled "The Tortured Poets Department."

She has been teasing fans with track titles, lyrics, videos , Apple Music playlists , and even a pop-up art installation in Los Angeles with Spotify leading up to the release.

Will 'The Tortured Poets Department' be in the Eras Tour?

It is still unsure whether or not the remaining shows on her current tour, the Eras Tour, will be updated to include songs from her newest album.

She begins the European leg of her tour on May 9 in Paris, France, making it the first concert date after the release of "The Tortured Poets Department." Fans will have to wait and see if the album gets a more permanent spot in the show's setlist beyond being played during the surprise song segment.

When is Taylor Swift coming to Indy?

Taylor Swift announced in August she is bringing her "Eras Tour" to Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium for three nights, Nov. 1, 2 and 3.

Taylor Swift Indianapolis: ‘Stay Stay Stay’ at one of these hotels within a mile of the Eras Tour concert

How to get Taylor Swift tickets for Indianapolis?

You may still have a chance to see the Eras Tour in November.

Ticket sales through Ticketmaster are officially over, however, several marked-up tickets are still available for the Indianapolis shows on re-selling sites like StubHub and SeatGeek .

If you're still hoping to get tickets, they may be costly. Most tickets are priced are anywhere from $1,500 to almost $3,000 each, and the cheapest tickets are for seats near the top of the bowl.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (AP) — More than a dozen people suffered mostly minor injuries when a tram used for tours crashed into a railing at Universal Studios Hollywood near Los Angeles, authorities and the company said.

Los Angeles County Fire Department units responded shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday to the theme park in Universal City, about 10 miles (16 kilometers) northwest of downtown LA, the agency said in a social media post.

The California Highway Patrol said that while the tram was negotiating a turn, its last car collided with a metal guardrail, “causing it to tilt and eject multiple passengers.”

The fire department said 15 people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries. The highway patrol’s statement on Sunday said some of the injuries were moderate, but didn’t specify a number.

Universal Studios Hollywood said in a statement Sunday afternoon that tours have resumed with a modified route.

“Our thoughts continue to be with the guests who were involved, and we are thankful that based on agency reports, the injuries sustained were minor. We are working closely with public agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, as we continue our review of the incident and safety remains a top priority,” the statement said.

The highway patrol, which is leading the investigation, said alcohol and drugs were not considered a factor.

The tram circuit, called the World-Famous Studio Tour, offers a glimpse behind the scenes of Universal movies including “Jaws” and Jordan Peele’s “Nope.” The theme park will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the tour starting Friday.
