The Strokes' Julian Casablancas sings into a microphone.

It’s time to tune your air guitars.

This August, The Strokes have two North American concerts lined up this August — and for fans wondering “Is This It,” we can confirm, it is.

First up, the legendary NYC band heads southwest to perform with opening act Weyes Blood at Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Monday, Aug. 14.

Five days later, they’ll return home for a one-off gig at Forest Hills, NY’s Forest Hills Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 19 with special guest singer Angel Olsen, comedian Seaton Smith and Promiseland aka Johann Rashid.

Need last-minute tickets to see Julian Casablancas belt out “Someday,” “Reptilia,” “Last Nite,” “12:51,” “You Only Live Once” and bangers from their 2021 Grammy-winning album “The New Abnormal?”

Well, it’s not too late.

Seats are available for both shows — they’re just not cheap.

The lowest price for the two concerts, at the time of publication, is $139 before fees on Vivid Seats.

That may have something to do with the scarcity of these shows; however, the good news is they may go down as the show dates approach.

All we know is the best way to find a deal is to keep refreshing this page .

By doing so, it’s very possible you just might find a bargain.

In the meantime, our team compiled everything you need to know about the Strokes’ brief August tour — from the best prices for each concert to set lists to details about the support acts — below.

All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.

The Strokes 2023 tour schedule

A complete breakdown of all the cheapest ticket prices for The Strokes two concerts on their mini-tour can be found right here:

(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time. All prices are in US dollars, subject to fluctuation and include additional fees at checkout .)

Vivid Seats is a verified secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They offer a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and your tickets will be delivered prior to the event.

The Strokes set list

Prior to these two concerts, the garage rockers have been touring overseas.

Here’s what they played live at their most recent headlining non-festival gig courtesy of Set List FM :

01.) “What Ever Happened?” 02.) “Bad Decisions” 03.) “Soma” 04.) “Juicebox” 05.) “Automatic Stop” 06.) “The Adults Are Talking” 07.) “Take It or Leave It” 08.) “Under Control” 09.) “Reptilia” 10.) “Call It Fate, Call It Karma” 11.) “Red Light” 12.) “Someday” 13.) “Ize of the World” Encore:

14.) “Hard to Explain” 15.) “You Only Live Once” 16.) “Last Nite”

The Strokes special guests

Weyes Blood is the brainchild of singer Natalie Laura Mering. Her nostalgic, yearning, lush and lo-fi music is the perfect complement to The Strokes’ brash rock. We recommend checking out her most-streamed song “Andromeda” for a sample of her sound.

Angel Olsen has a voice you can’t get out of your head. We mean that in a good way. Switching from bold to vulnerable — sometimes in a single track — she captivates listeners with her refreshingly honest vocals. While she’s more well-known for other songs, for us, we suggest starting with her incredible cover of Billy Idol’s “Eyes Without A Face.”

Seaton Smith wows audiences all over North America on a nightly basis. Now, the “Mulaney” actor (remember when John Mulaney had a sitcom on Fox?) and comic will deliver laughs poking fun at his past, society as a whole and maybe even throw in a little crowd work when he performs in Queens.

Promised Land wears many hats. Johann Rashid plays punk-like music, does performance art, and screens video at his live shows. These shows are not to be missed — he often leaves the stage with “broken ribs, bloody gashes, or jalapeno-infused tequila in his eyes” according to his bio . Gnarly.

Rock bands on tour in 2023

While The Strokes have just two shows lined up — as of now — many other groups have longer tours scheduled.

Here’s a quick look at a few other acts you won’t want to miss live these next few months.

•  Death Cab For Cutie with The Postal Service

• Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

•  Arctic Monkeys

• Pixies and Modest Mouse

Red Hot Chili Peppers Reveal 2022 Tour Dates With the Strokes, Haim, St. Vincent, More

By Allison Hussey

Chad Smith Anthony Kiedis John Frusciante and Flea

Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced the dates for their promised 2022 world tour , their first with guitarist John Frusciante back in the band. They’d teased the news with a goofy video in September. The 32-city trek kicks off June 4 in Seville, Spain, and will include special guests such as the Strokes, Beck, Haim, St. Vincent, Anderson .Paak, and more. Thundercat and King Princess will open on select dates, too. See the full string of dates, which includes a summer leg in the United States, below.

In December 2019, the band announced that guitarist John Frusciante was re-joining the group after a decade away, replacing Josh Klinghoffer . The newly reunited lineup performed together once last February , at a memorial concert assembled by the Tony Hawk Foundation.

Review: Red Hot Chili Peppers make Seattle’s T-Mobile Park feel California casual

Michael Rietmulder

It’s kind of fitting that this year’s biggest summer rock tour is led by the band most synonymous with the state of California since the Beach Boys. Just a few dates into the North American leg of a monster stadium tour, Red Hot Chili Peppers pulled into Seattle’s T-Mobile Park on Wednesday with a stacked lineup that got even more star power when a certain Seattle rock hero made a surprise appearance (more on that later).

The Los Angeles funk rock titans seem reenergized by the recent return of classic lineup guitarist John Frusciante, now on his third stint with the band. With a European swing already behind them, the quartet looked and sounded relaxed — as relaxed as a band employing the ever-intense Flea can get — in front of a packed stadium crowd. The perpetually shirtless Anthony Kiedis and the wild man bassist joked and jammed between some of the band’s most recognizable hits and choice album cuts, including a handful of newbies from this spring’s “Unlimited Love.”

The good-vibes-only affair alternately felt like a living room jam session at the rowdiest of house parties and a beach bonfire singalong with tens of thousands of strangers turned best buds. (At least until the brisk Northwest air eventually forced Kiedis and Flea to put their shirts on.)

After limbering up early on with one of their freakier new ones, “Aquatic Mouth Dance,” which lacked the pizazz of the recording’s New Orleans-style horn section, Kiedis and company eased into one of their staple easygoing rock anthems, “Snow (Hey Oh),” off 2006’s “Stadium Arcadium.” The song’s familiar warmth wrapped around the rapt crowd like a beach blanket at sunset, with Frusciante’s gentle, ocean-breeze riffs that could make palm trees appear out of thin air. Of all the Chilis’ soul-easing classics deployed throughout the night, none brought a collective sense of comfort quite like this one.

“There was something extra lovely about your energy out there,” Kiedis remarked afterward.

Frusciante’s return, coupled with pandemic downtime, seems to have sparked a creative burst from the band. Hot on the heels of April’s 17-track “Unlimited Love,” RHCP recently announced what they’re describing as a second double album, “Return of the Dream Canteen,” which will arrive this fall. About a third of the band’s set, which was backloaded with hits, was culled from “Unlimited Love.” The new songs were largely wrapped into an up-and-down midsection with a few choice album cuts, including an earth-scorching surprise in “Me and My Friends” — a maniacally rowdy partyball Flea dedicated to Seattle’s left-handed guitar-playing giants, Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain, who he called two “transcendent dudes.”

It wasn’t the only nod to hometown rock heroes that night. RHCP and Pearl Jam have been longtime band buddies since the L.A. rockers brought PJ and Nirvana on a formative (and now legendary) tour in the early ’90s. Eddie Vedder recruited RHCP drummer Chad Smith and former Chili-turned-PJ touring member Josh Klinghoffer for his recent Earthlings band .

With Pearl Jam between tour legs, an appearance from the down-to-jam Vedder — who’s never opposed to a ballpark cameo with some of his rock legend friends — seemed highly possible. But the Vedder pop-in actually came during an opening set from NYC post-punk revivalists The Strokes.

The Pearl Jam frontman casually walked on stage to a delayed reaction from the crowd, which took a second to jump up from their seats after realizing the unassuming dude in a ball cap was Eddie freakin’ Vedder. Together, Vedder and The Strokes blasted through the band’s menacing, surf-punky “Juicebox,” with Vedder’s iron-fist belting strengthening the punch alongside Julian Casablancas’ signature howl-croon. Vedder’s voice showed no sign of the smoke damage from wildfires in France that forced Pearl Jam to cancel several European dates last month.

“[Expletive] legend!” Casablancas exclaimed afterward. “We just texted like five minutes before the show, too. He sings that better than anything I will ever sing in my life.”

From there, the crowd never sat back down as The Strokes, who brought a sizable contingent of fans themselves, delighted with signature tunes like “New York City Cops” and a sprightly “Someday,” despite omitting their biggest hit, “Last Nite.”

Making for a killer three-band bill, cosmic funk lord Thundercat started the show with an unusually LOUD set for an opening act. At the risk of sounding like Earth’s oldest, most boring man, the aggressively high volume didn’t do the progressive bass wizard’s faster songs justice in a half-empty stadium as fans trickled in. (And I say this as a guy who’s always kind of in a doom metal “phase.”) As a result, his immaculate runs that wondrously pack tons of notes into tight spaces came out cacophonous at times.

As the evening wound down, RHCP segued “Unlimited Love” lead single “Black Summer” into a closing run of some of their biggest hits. While some of the newer stuff drew mixed reactions from the crowd — the plight of any legacy band, especially one whose latter years are more defined by its enduring and inescapable singles than albums — the soothing jam fits comfortably among the best of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers’ time-tested melodic rockers.

After “Californication” and an extra rollicking “Give It Away,” the Chilis encored with anthemic renditions of “Soul to Squeeze” and “By the Way” that’ll have ’em rolling around in our heads for another few decades.

Long may rock ‘n’ roll’s California kings of summer reign.

Live reviews

The Strokes are unquestionably one of the best bands out there, and you can really tell that they have been influenced by The Doors. I love The Doors and so I love The Strokes.

Just like Jim Morrison, the lead singer of The Strokes (Julian Casablancas) has an element of shyness to him. The band works together very well and they just look like they belong together: if you watch Fab Moretti (the drummer), he's always looking up and watching the other players really intensely. I really enjoy watching them play together and I love to see them live. They don’t talk to the audience much, and mainly just focus on playing, but they do make some contact with the audience. You can tell that their fans really love them and their concerts are always filled with good people.

Due to the fact that they are so popular they usually play for really large crowds, but if you are very lucky you can catch one of their smaller more intimate performances. I've only ever managed to see them with a large crowd, but I have to say it was still really fun. You get a much bigger atmosphere when there are more people; everyone is so excited, but Julian looks so cool and reserved in his leather coat and sunglasses.

Since I've been a fan of theirs (for more than 10 years), I really think that The Strokes are getting better over time and that is good because I want them to be around for a long time!

I was lucky enough to see the Strokes at Governor's Ball in 2014. It had been 3 years since legendary rock band The Strokes had played a show. They surprised New York with a pop up Governor's Ball pre-party show a week prior so it was their second show back after not touring their latest album. Either way, it felt just as special to be their first festival show in a while. I have never had a better concert experience than my Strokes show. Between exploding with "Barely Legal" and ending with "New York City Cops," all 5 albums were touched upon. Frontman Julian Casablancas is extremely confident in the best way possible. He interacted with the audience, sang every song perfectly and messed around with other bandmates during some songs. He even goofily covered Nikolai's eyes while dancing around stage. The fact that there were times when the crowd was singing guitar riffs louder than they were being played is a sign of an amazing show in my opinion. The crowd was on fire and it was obvious the Strokes fed off this energy in an amazing way.

If the Strokes come back for a real tour, do NOT miss out on the opportunity to see them; the show will be so good you'll get chills thinking about it even a month later.

It’s official: they’re back.

The Strokes played in Berlin their first show (in a venue) in Europe in 9 years with a solid combination of their 3 first records, one song from Come Down Machine and 2 new songs (The Adults are Talking and Bad Decisions).

They played with a great mood between them and we could see one of the best Casablancas, joking with the band and the crowd, even singing Last Nite jumping to the public.

I hope this is just the beginning and they play in more venues than during last 14 years.

As someone who grew up listening to The Strokes and holding this band in high regard, it kills me to say that this show was a major disappointment.

Nobody could hear Julian's vocals. I'm not sure if the instruments were too loud or if Julian's mic was indeed too loud, but the fact of the matter is that you could not hear Julian at all.

Besides that, the band themselves sounded awesome and seeing Albert go off during Last Nite was simply awesome. Singing along with the whole crowd to classics like 12:51, Reptillia, and Hard to Explain felt like a dream.

The Floor GA tickets were not cheap and considering the major flaw that basically ruined the show, I can't say I would ever go out of my way to see The Strokes again if they toured nearby.

The Black Crowes Bring Rock & Soul To Seattle On ‘Happiness Bastards Tour’ [Review/Photos]

black crowes, happiness bastards, black crowes seattle, black crowes 4/15/24, black crowes tour, mccaw hall

“Monday night’s the new Saturday night!” Chris Robinson shouted out to the packed house at McCaw Hall , a downtown Seattle theatre typically used for for dance and performing arts. The weekday show was the ninth stop on The Black Crowes ‘ world tour in support of Happiness Bastards’ , the band’s first album in 15 years.

The drum set was perched above a pile of vintage guitar amps as a cardboard cutout of Chuck Berry looked out from behind. The rest of the band members had their nooks in an old-timey sideshow gallery. They started the night off with the ’70s glam rock reminiscent “Bedside Manners” and “Rats and Clowns”, the first two tracks on the new record. The rock and roll carnival continued as the previously estranged brothers indulged the crowd with a few of the band’s classics.

They paid homage to the roots of rock and roll with Bo Diddley ’s dirty, low-riding groove, “Road Runner”, and called out other artists from the rhythm and blues cradle of Georgia, one of those of course being Otis Redding . Everyone in the crowd sang along to the Redding classic “Hard to Handle” and continued to do so to another of the band’s staples, “She Talks to Angels”.

Chris Robinson’s gritty soulful voice is as powerful as ever—as are the rock and roll frontman moves he shook in front of the center-stage mirror as he and the band treated the crowd to two more heavy hitters, “Remedy” and “Jealous Again”, before closing the evening out with the beloved 2009 “Good Morning Captain”. The 90-minute show was a solid mix of new material and greatest hits—a true American rock and roll show from a true American rock and roll band!

Epson Tour’s Circling Raven Championship runs its course after three years

Yue Ren reacts after winning the Epson Tour’s Circling Raven Championship last August on the second playoff hole against Chanettee Wannasaen. (By Kathy Plonka/The Spokesman-Review)

The Circling Raven Championship is no longer on the Epson Tour schedule after a three-year run at Circling Raven Golf Club.

The original three-year contract between the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, which operates the award-winning course in Worley, and the Epson Tour, the LPGA’s developmental tour, expired after the 2023 tournament last August.

“Yes, basically,” Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel CEO Laura Penney said, when asked if it was a business decision not to continue hosting the tournament. “We pursued the Symetra Tour (renamed the Epson Tour in 2022), it was a great group of ladies and they are a fine representation of the game of golf.

“We wanted to get recognition, kind of revitalize our name and put us on the map, and we also wanted to support the ladies. And we did that. We did that with the program, so I think it kind of ran its course and it did well.”

The 54-hole tournament brought high-level players, including numerous former and current LPGA members, to the scenic course.

“I caddied for a year when it was the Nike Tour back in 1991, so I know how good (the Epson Tour) is,” Circling Raven director of golf Chris Runyan said. “To have them out here was just amazing.”

Peiyun Chien, who won the inaugural Circling Raven Championship in 2021, had five top-10 LPGA finishes in 2023 and boasts nearly $1.5 million in career earnings. Lilia Vu, who tied for 12th in 2021, won two majors in 2023, climbed to No. 1 in the world rankings and was named the LPGA Tour Player of the Year. Bailey Tardy, who tied for third in the 2021 CRC, won the Blue Bay LPGA tournament last month.

Chanettee Wannasaen, 19, who lost to Yue Ren in a playoff last August at Circling Raven, won the Portland Classic the following week, becoming the first Monday qualifier to win on the LPGA Tour since 2015. Alexa Pano, who finished third in 2022 at age 18 behind champion Jillian Hollis, won the ISPS Handa World Invitational and had five straight top-25 finishes as an LPGA rookie in 2023.

“They’re just fine athletes,” Penney said. “Just to watch them tee off was amazing. And the pro-ams, to play with them side by side, it improved my game (by) a couple of strokes.”

Players raved about the quality course conditions and the hotel nearby. Fan attendance was somewhat limited by the spacious course layout over 620 acres, distance between holes and numerous environmentally protected areas.

“It’s awesome,” said Tardy, shortly after finishing her final round at the 2021 event. “Being able to stay next to the golf course, I personally really enjoy it. It really feels like we’re at a resort because you wake up and don’t have to get in a car to come here. You can just walk on over.

“The course is in unbelievable shape. I feel like each week, tournament sites are stepping up their game and we’re playing even better-conditioned (courses), but the greens out here, the fairways, everything is just immaculate.”

The inaugural Circling Raven Championship in 2020 was delayed a year due to the COVID pandemic.

“We all enjoyed the tournaments,” Penney said, “and it was great to bring it to the Northwest.”

Masters analysis: 10 notes to know on Scottie Scheffler’s win, final round

Masters analysis: 10 notes to know on Scottie Scheffler’s win, final round

When his competition made repeated tactical errors on the back nine, Scottie Scheffler hit the accelerator, with birdies on six of his last 11 holes to win the Masters.

In a time when off-course happenings dominate the game’s discourse, golf’s inevitability is Scheffler’s stoic greatness. His wildest personality trait is his unorthodox footwork during his swing, which precedes a direct pounding by the center of his club’s face. He rolled down Magnolia Lane a certified pre-tournament favorite and leaves a two-time champion.

Here are the top numbers and notes to know from the final round of the 88th Masters.

1. With the victory, 27-year-old Scheffler is the fourth-youngest player in Masters history to win twice, behind only Jack Nicklaus (25), Tiger Woods (25) and Seve Ballesteros (26). He did so in just his fifth start, the fastest to win the Masters tournament twice in 88 years. Only Horton Smith, who won two of the first three in 1934 and 1936, did it in fewer tries.

Scheffler’s two Masters victories have been by three and four shots. He’s the fifth player in Masters history to win by three or more multiple times: Nicklaus, Woods, Ballesteros and Sam Snead each did it twice. Scheffler, though, is the only player to do it two times in three years.

2. Over the last few seasons, Scheffler has accomplished several things statistically that draw comparisons to Woods. Last season, he had the best strokes gained tee-to-green average for a single PGA Tour season since Woods in 2006. He had the lowest bogey average in a season since Woods in 2002.

Now he’s won multiple major championships while ranked No. 1 in the world. Since the Official World Golf Ranking began in 1986, only Scheffler and Woods have won more than one major while in the top spot. Tiger did it 11 times.

Only two players have won multiple titles at both TPC Sawgrass and Augusta National: Scheffler and Woods. The only men to win The Players Championship and the Masters in the same year? Again, just Scottie and Tiger.

The first three wins of Woods’ 2001 season were at Bay Hill, TPC Sawgrass and Augusta National. Those are Scheffler’s three wins to date in 2024. If you’re interested in a future wager regarding the continuation of this parallel, Tiger’s next win in ’01 came at the Memorial.

go-deeper

How the ‘Scottie Shuffle’ is Scheffler’s unique weapon as he seeks a second Masters

3. Scheffler has been, far and away, the best iron player on the PGA Tour since the beginning of last season. In a terrifying development for his peers, Scheffler won the Masters by four without his greatest weapon. Scheffler ranked well outside the top 10 for the tournament in strokes gained approach, losing shots to the field in that statistic in rounds 2 and 3. He hit 64 percent of his greens in regulation, something he’s done in only one other tournament in the last 12 months.

Instead, his often underrated short game took center stage. Scheffler led the tournament in strokes gained around the green, picking up multiple shots on the field in that metric in each of the first three rounds. This was absolutely crucial, as Scheffler hit the fewest greens in regulation for the week by a Masters winner since Zach Johnson in 2007.

Scheffler has now won three times in 2024. He has not recorded a round over par.

the strokes tour seattle

4. Ludvig Åberg finished alone in second place, four shots behind Scheffler. No player has ever won the Masters in his first major start. Only the world’s best recorded a better score this week than Åberg.

Fuzzy Zoeller remains the last player to win in his Masters debut, doing so in 1979. Since then, three Masters rookies have finished alone in second place: Dan Pohl in 1982, Will Zalatoris in 2021 and Åberg. Three players have finished T2 in their debuts in that span, among them fellow Swede Jonas Blixt in 2014.

The other rookie who finished tied for second in 2014 was Jordan Spieth. Like Åberg, Spieth was beaten by a player winning his second Masters in three years — Bubba Watson. Åberg certainly hopes his path at Augusta National is closer to Spieth’s than his countryman: Blixt has never again finished in the top 20 in a major, while Spieth came back the following year and won wire to wire.

5. Collin Morikawa began the day with a chance to become the fourth player to win the Masters, PGA Championship and The Open Championship before turning 30, joining Nicklaus, Woods and Gary Player. But double bogeys at 9 and 11 led to a 74, tying the highest final-round score of his accomplished major championship career. Sunday was just the second time in 62 major rounds in which Morikawa made multiple double bogeys or worse.

Max Homa finished tied for third, the best result of his major career. It’s his second consecutive top-10 result in a major following a tie for 10th at Royal Liverpool last summer. Homa’s only bogey on the first nine all week came Sunday on the seventh hole. That’s particularly remarkable considering in his first 12 career rounds at Augusta, he never broke par on the front nine. Chris DiMarco in 2005 remains the last player to not card a single bogey on holes one through nine in a Masters.

6. Only three players shot a lower final-round score than Tommy Fleetwood (69), as the Englishman produced his best result at the Masters. With his tie for third, Fleetwood is one of just five players with a top-five finish in each of the four men’s major championships since 2017. The others are Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Morikawa and Tony Finau.

In a tie for sixth was Cameron Smith, one of the most consistent performers at Augusta National in recent years. Smith has finished in the top 10 in five Masters since 2018, one of just two men to do that. Rahm, who handed Scheffler the green jacket Sunday evening, is the other.

7. Bryson DeChambeau finished in a tie for sixth, his best result at the Masters. His previous best finish came in his debut, a low-amateur performance back in 2016.

DeChambeau shot a brilliant 65 in Round 1 but struggled to consistently find that magic in the ensuing three days. DeChambeau is one of 19 players since 1990 to begin a Masters with a score of 65 or lower. Only three others in that span also followed it up with scores over par in rounds 2-4. After ranking second in the field in strokes gained putting in the first round, DeChambeau lost more than 3 1/2 shots on the greens the rest of the week.

8. Rory McIlroy shot a closing 73 to finish tied for 22nd place. McIlroy has now played 10 Masters since earning the third leg of the career grand slam at the 2014 Open Championship. None of the five men to win the grand slam required more than three tries to get their missing piece.

The brilliant approach play numbers McIlroy assembled in San Antonio last week didn’t duplicate on the grounds of Augusta National. At the Texas Open, McIlroy enjoyed his best single strokes gained approach week on the PGA Tour in nearly five years. He ranked in the middle of the pack in that metric at the Masters.

It’s been more than 3,300 days since McIlroy’s last major victory, the 2014 PGA Championship. Next month’s PGA returns to the site of that win, Valhalla Golf Club.

9. Woods completed the 100th round of his Masters career Sunday, becoming the 21st player all time to reach that benchmark. The high point of his week was easily his gritty Friday performance, when he fought through 23 holes to make his 24th consecutive cut, a Masters record. The effort clearly did a number on Tiger’s surgically held-together body, as his gait and ability to pick the ball out of the hole visibly deteriorated on the weekend .

Woods’ 72-hole score of 304 is the highest of his major championship career. Like McIlroy, Woods has won a PGA at next month’s venue, his 1999 playoff triumph over Bob May. Unlike McIlroy, it remains to be seen if we’ll see Woods tee it up — this week was the first time he’s completed 72 holes in an official tournament since February 2023 at Riviera.

10. Sunday marked the 29th time in the last 34 Masters that the champion emerged from the final group on Sunday. The 11th hole (4.39 strokes) played as the most difficult to par for the second time in the last three years. Either the 5th or the 11th has played as the toughest every year since 2018.

Scheffler’s winning score of 11-under marks the seventh consecutive Masters where the champion was double digits under par, extending an already record-long streak.

The PGA Championship begins in 32 days.
