The Truth About The TikTok Account Claiming To Be From 2027

Big Ben spinning

In February 2021, the human race — already shaken by global catastrophes, political turmoil, and the arrival of a  Pentagon UFO report that could blow the lid right off everything we thought we believed — received an unexpected visitation that set the whole internet alight. Well, that set TikTok alight. Or part of it, at least.

On the 13th of the winter month, a user by the name of @unicosobreviviente — which is Spanish for "lone survivor" — posted a video of deserted streets and stores in Valencia, Spain, and claimed that there was no sign of human life anywhere. "I just woke up in a hospital, and I don't know what might have happened. Today is February 13, 2027, and I am alone in the city," the user, who gives his name only as Javier, wrote in his first post.

Many were intrigued, if not convinced, by Javier's footage. Certainly, the otherwise bustling city of Valencia seemed entirely lifeless, and as Javier posted more videos, it seemed less and less likely that the user had just managed to fluke a few minutes of footage of unpopulated streets one especially quiet morning. And the videos keep coming. What exactly is going on?

Javier, TikTok's 'lone survivor'

As Javier's posts continued throughout 2021, his world became more clear. "I woke up alone in a hospital in Valencia (Spain). I couldn't remember my name or where I lived. I decided to go outside and there were no people. Everything was like in 2021, but the electronic devices showed 2027. I discovered that there was a connection between 2021 and 2027. People in 2021 could see the objects I left in the city, but people couldn't see me and I couldn't see them. And a few days ago I found a letter telling me that I am the JESP8827 experiment," he wrote in one post titled " MY STORY ."

Sure, some users were, of course, joylessly skeptical. Why were there human footprints on the beach, for instance? How come there was no dust when Javier explored abandoned apartments? How was his Wi-Fi working? Why was everything so tidy ? Others, however, wondered how Javier — look, spoiler alert ,  he's not a time traveler from 2027, OK? — managed to get such uncanny footage of deserted Spanish landmarks day after day, month after month.

Javier's account now boasts over 6 million followers, and the user regularly engages with his fanbase by encouraging them to post questions and requests and to find the treasure that he sends back to 2021 from his abandoned future world. So whatever "JESP8827" turns out to be, Javier has promoted it exceptionally well.

'Time traveller from 2027' explains how he became 'trapped' in parallel world

TikTok user Javier said he found out he was a "time travel experiment from 2027" but is now "trapped" in a parallel world of 2021 without any signs of human or animals

A " time traveller from 2027" who claimed to be the only man living in a Spanish city in the future has revealed how he became "trapped" in a parallel world.

Javier , from Valencia, shared his bizarre journey on his TikTok account @unicosobreviviente wandering in the deserted city where humanity "has become extinct" .

He previously claimed to have heard a sound coming from a bomb shelter at the factory-turned-art museum and filmed what he saw inside the bunker.

In one of his latest video, he lifted the lid on how he ended up six years into the future.

He said: "I woke up alone in a hospital in Valencia (Spain).

Javier explained to his viewers that he woke up from a hospital and found out he was all alone

"I couldn't remember my name or where I lived. I decided to go outside and there were no people.

"Everything was like in 2021, but the electronic devices showed 2027."

Javier tried to "connect" people in the present world by hiding objects in certain places, asking fellow TikTok users to search for his items.

"I discovered that there was a connection between 2021 and 2027. People in 2021 could see the objects I left in the city, but people couldn't see me and I couldn't see them," he added.

He said he is now trapped in a parallel world of 2021 but his devices showed he is from 2027

"And a few days ago I found a letter telling me that I am the JESP8827 experiment, I come from 2027 and I am now in a parallel world in 2021 without people or animals."

Viewers often asked him to do a livestream video to prove that he is in "the year 2027" and some asked him to reveal his face in the videos.

One commented: "I know what you did! You filmed this during quarantine and you planned it. That's why you hid things where people now are finding them."

He never showed his face in the video while wandering in Valencia

Another guessed: "I think he is a police officer, that's why he had the key for the police station."

Javier is not the only TikTok user who claimed to be "from the future", another time traveller from "the year 2582" claimed to have returned to 2021 to "warn" people that Earth will enter "three days of darkness" in 2026 .

Another adventurer said astronauts will find an "Earth-cloned" planet on May 8, 2021 .

Screen Rant

Tiktok time traveler: viral lone survivor video channel explained.

TikTok caters to many different topics and genres, but one time traveler is generating millions of views while navigating the world alone.

A time traveler who is alone in the world is currently creating waves of interest on TikTok . The platform was already home to many interesting channels, but the lone survivor’s videos are quickly going viral and generating millions of views in the process . Here’s what you need to know about TikTok’s time traveler.

In spite of being much newer than many other social media platforms, TikTok has quickly established itself as one of the most important. With a user base that just continues to grow and an algorithm capable of delivering highly relevant videos, TikTok is becoming the go-to option for many on the internet. It also helps that TikTok covers a wide range of topics and genres, including time travel.

The @unicosobreviviente channel on TikTok has recently gone viral. The TikTok “ unico sobreviviente ” handle is Spanish for “ lone survivor ” and the creator, who identifies simply as Javier , appears to be posting from the future. Since the channel went live, it has attracted almost three million followers and more than 16 million likes. This is in spite of all of the videos being the same and simply showing Javier walking around. The difference is, wherever Javier goes, there is no one to be found. Everyone has simply disappeared, with the suggestion that the population has since gone extinct. The year is 2027.

Is Lone Survivor A Time Traveler?

In a “ My Story ” video , Javier explains how after waking up in a hospital, everyone else in the world had simply gone. Since then, Javier has continued to search for people and is documenting the journey on a regular basis through videos uploaded to TikTok . Javier assumed it was still the year 2021 when awaking in hospital, but that was until observing that all the electronic devices stated the year was actually 2027. However, the lone survivor doesn’t actually claim to be a time traveler. Instead, Javier claims to be in a parallel world. One that runs alongside this one, albeit six years in the future and one without people or animals. In this sense, Javier does not appear to be someone traveling through time, but more of a case of someone who is communicating across worlds that are slightly out of linear synchronization. A world that TikTok seems to transcend.

As unusual as it might sound for a time traveler to use TikTok to communicate with others , it is not totally uncommon. For example, there’s also @timetraveler2582 which, as the handle suggests, is the account of a time traveler from the year 2582. Unlike Javier, Timetraveler2582 and many of the other TikTok time travelers tend to be more interested in warning users from the past by providing predictions on the future. However, the lack of predictions from Javier, coupled with the general lack of people, arguably make this TikTok time traveler’s videos all the more intriguing and creepy.

Time Traveller With Footage Of 2027 Is Returning To 2021

Time Traveller With Footage Of 2027 Is Returning To 2021

He's coming back.

Amelia Ward

A 'time traveller' who claims to have visited 2027 and witnessed 'human extinction' has posted again on TikTok to say that he's coming back to 2021. Watch his original video here:

The new clip he posted is entirely text-based, backed by horror film style music.

Originally posted in Spanish, the text sees him appealing for help from his followers, adding that he had gotten used to being alone but needs to go back to 2021.

TikToker @unicosobreniniente, also known as Javier, says he managed to fast forward six years where he experienced 'human extinction', providing his 1.3 million followers with regular updates.

For now, let's put the issue of whether time travel is possible to one side, because there are also some other discrepancies in his tale that we should probably address.

For starters, despite there being no humans around (apart from Javier, of course), it appears that there's still access to electricity and the internet seems to be working.

As well as there being buildings, cars and... oh wait, what's that...? Social distancing stickers on floors...? Hmm. It's ALMOST like he may not actually be a time traveller...

Alongside the video, which racked up 7.3 million views as well as over 740,000 likes and nearly 25,000 comments, Javier wrote the caption: "I just woke up in a hospital and I don't know what might have happened.

"Today is 13 February 2027 and I am alone in the city."

He added: "Humanity has been extinct, there is no one in shopping centres."

Javier did upload videos after the initial one which showed empty hospitals after one of his doubtful followers asked him to go there and film.

time traveller xavier

The hospital corridors are empty, but we might need a little more evidence if we're expected to believe that humans are to become extinct somewhere between now and 2027 - just six years into the future.

Commending on the first video, one person wrote: "Not possible, if he's posting then he's in our present time. That and advertisements and signs would look different... and clothes in stores lol."

People were also quick to point out the fact that there's footprints in the sand and moving boats in the sea, as well as what seems to be someone on a crossing.

Other videos include him standing on a train track (do NOT try this at home), turning a TV on to discover no channels working, and various streets and buildings.

It's almost as if there's a curfew in place.

Hmm. Forgive us if we're skeptical, Javier.

TikTok Time Traveler Javier Claims He Is the Only Person Alive in His City

Tatayana Yomary - Author

Mar. 29 2021, Updated 4:56 p.m. ET

Whether you like it or love it, TikTok has become the hub for all things entertainment. On the platform, you can find everything from cool dance trends to pet challenges for your fur babies, and even life hacks and funny videos to enjoy during your leisure time.

While people use the social media platform for different reasons, there’s no arguing that the app is filled with some weird and wacky creators. And the latest TikToker to leave viewers scratching their heads is the TikTok time traveler .

Of course, time traveling is not a thing, but this creator is convinced that he is the chosen one. Here's the 4-1-1 on the TikTok time traveler.

Who is the TikTok time traveler?

We can all agree that the internet brings out a vast array of characters. And while many people use social media to laugh at themselves and have a good time, there is one TikToker who believes his own hype.

In case you missed it, a TikToker by the name of Javier is convinced that he is a time traveler. Through various videos on his page, he shows followers short clips from his city in Spain in which no other people appear.

In fact, his bio reads, “My name is Javier and I am alone in the world." While it’s easy to think that his page is strictly a cry for help, he truly believes that he is alone.

In his videos, Javier also claims that he is a time traveler from the year 2027. He suggests that by 2027, the human race will be extinct.

As followers scroll through his TikToks, they'll see a journey of videos with no other humans present, which gives his content a weird yet mysterious feel. But of course, several people are not sold by his supposed time travel and many think that he may be off his rocker.

Users were quick to discredit Javier's claims. "If he's posting then he's in our present time," wrote one user. "That and advertisements and signs would look different......and clothes in stores lol!"

This is not the first time a TikTok time traveler has trended on the social app.

Like we always say, there is a whole lot of crazy that continues to go around. And while Javier may be a hot topic right now because of his beliefs, he’s not the only creator to claim that he is a time traveler.

If you remember, 2028man, who claimed he was from 2028, predicted Joe Biden would win the presidency. However, he eventually deleted his account. And while many of us are relieved that President Joe Biden is our commander-in-chief, that fact alone doesn't make 2028man a time traveler.

And of course, another user who goes by the name of 2029man is now sharing his pop culture predictions on his account. After all, many people utilize social media to build their own celebrity, and it's safe to say that these time travelers have that same idea in mind.

@2029man Be ready. #beready #2029man #greatcollapse #future #lenoxteam253 #viral ♬ original sound - The Messenger

Sure, sometimes there is no explanation for certain things that may take place in the world, but that doesn't mean that time traveling is a thing, seriously. However, if you're deep in the land of curiosity, take a scroll through Javier's page to see what his beliefs are all about.

The Best Time Travelers In Movies And TV

David Tennant as Doctor Who

If there's one thing movies and TV shows have taught us, it's that time travel is a really bad idea. What starts out as a simple joyride to the past quickly escalates into a major catastrophe that can alter history, create dystopias, and erase your loved ones right out of existence. When stepping on the wrong prehistoric butterfly can create a future where humanity evolves into lizard men, you know you have to be careful about how you tread through time.

That said, there are a select group of people who can navigate the time stream with minimal negative consequences. Thanks to special foresight, predestination, or billions of years of experience, these guys know which way to swerve to avoid a nasty paradox. From genius scientists to a couple of teenage rockers, these are the folks you want as the designated drivers of your time machine when the timeline starts branching.

The " Back to the Future " trilogy is famous for introducing mainstream audiences to the concept of temporal paradoxes and alternate timelines. A lot of this is thanks to the film's main protagonist Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox), who drives a DeLorean time machine back to 1955, screws up his parents' first meeting, and nearly prevents himself from being born.

As if this wasn't bad enough, Marty next travels to the future and buys a sports almanac, hoping it'll help him place some winning bets. Instead, he inadvertently helps creates a dystopian 1985 that ruins hundreds of lives.

Thankfully, while Marty may constantly screw-up the time stream, the time machine's inventor — Emmett "Doc" Brown ( Christopher Lloyd ) — is always there to set things right. While Doc did make a potentially fatal mistake with some plutonium and Libyan terrorists, his mind is still second-to-none at fourth-dimensional thinking.

It's a past version of Doc who helps Marty get back to the future despite having minimal knowledge of time machines. It's also Doc who explains to Marty how the alternate 1985 was created and develops a plan to erase the corrupt timeline.

Granted, Doc worries he may have seriously damaged history when he falls in love with doomed school teacher Clara (Mary Steenburgen) in "Back to the Future Part III" (1990), but everything turns out okay. He might fret about breaking the space-time continuum, but when it comes to time travel, few people are better suited for the task than  Doc Brown .

When an alien from a species known as the "Time Lords" invites you aboard his TARDIS time machine, you're in for an experience that goes beyond imagination. Since 1963, " Doctor Who " has shown various regenerations of the Doctor has been taking multiple Companions to various historical hotspots — including many not confined to Earth.

What makes the Doctor such an engaging time traveler is that he doesn't just take you on impromptu jaunts through the time stream. Instead, the TARDIS tends to deposit the Doctor and his Companions when and where they're most needed. This can mean traveling to World War II to help Winston Churchill navigate a Dalek plot or dropping into Queen Victoria's reign to protect her from a savage werewolf.

Granted, traveling with the Doctor is dangerous and requires a lot of running — but at least you'll have the satisfaction of knowing your time trips accomplish some good. And give you plenty of cardio.

Doctor Sam Beckett

While temporal paradoxes and alterations to the timestream are typically seen as bad things, the hero of the 1980s TV show " Quantum Leap " Doctor Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula), regularly shows they can also be beneficial. In fact, the show's opening narration reveals that Sam's job is "to change history for the better" and "to put right what once went wrong."

Sam's method of time travel is unique. Where most time travelers traverse the time stream in a machine, Sam involuntarily "leaps" into other people's bodies during moments of crisis. Aided by his holographic guide Al (Dean Stockwell), Sam learns about the person he's leaped into and how he needs to help. While he can make mistakes, he ultimately steers these people onto a path that improves their lives and the ones around them. Some episodes even reveal he how he inspired a young Stephen King , Sylvester Stallone, Michael Jackson, and even Martin Luther King Jr.'s ancestor!

One nice thing about "Quantum Leap" is that Al is able to let Sam know exactly how he changed history by referencing future news clippings and records. Through Al, Sam learns of the families he brought back together, the careers he helped start, and even the women who chose not to have silicone breast implants after he warned them about the health hazards. Nice job, Dr. Beckett!

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

For many people, being able to travel through time offers the chance to perform "do-overs" in key moments in your life. That's what Makoto Konno (Riisa Naka) decides to do with her time travel ability in the Japanese anime film "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" (2006). And the amazing thing? It actually works really well — at least at first.

Inexplicably gifted with the power to "time-leap" or relive different parts of her day, Makoto decides to use her ability for frivolous reasons. She aces a test by taking it twice, avoids an embarrassing cooking mishap, and even sings karaoke for 10 hours straight by repeatedly reliving the same session. However, when her friend Chiaki (Takuya Ishida) confesses feelings for her, she wastes several leaps going back in time to avoid dealing with the situation.

Unfortunately, Makoto soon encounters some genuinely serious problems that require her time traveling ability — just as she learns she has a limited number of "time-leaps," meaning some of her activities will have lasting consequences. Forced to accept responsibility for her actions, Makoto luckily proves up for the task, although she does have to pay a pretty steep price to help the ones she loves.

Henry DeTamble

Unlike most of the time travelers on this list, Henry DeTamble (Eric Bana), the protagonist of " The Time Traveler's Wife " (2009) can't alter history beyond its predestined path. Blessed and cursed with a rare genetic condition that causes him to involuntarily travel across his own personal timeline, Henry basically lives his life out of order. This comes with plenty of downsides ... but there are some perks to this existence as well.

Thanks to his time traveling abilities, Henry's future wife Clare ( Rachel McAdams ) is already madly in love with him when he first meets her, thanks to some trips his future self will make in Clare's past. While their marriage is not without problems, Henry can also provide for his wife in unique ways — first by purchasing a winning lottery ticket and then by picking out the home of their dreams (since he's already visited it multiple times in the future).

Of course, possessing knowledge of the future — including the inevitable tragedies — can weigh heavily on a time traveler. Still, Henry and Clare agree they wouldn't choose to live their lives any other way or change a thing about their love. Not everyone can deal with being married to a time traveler, but these two manage to own it.

Some people time travel to save lives, study historical events, or uncover the secret of existence.

Tim Lake ( Domhnall Gleeson ) of 2013's British comedy-drama "About Time," just wants to find a girlfriend.

After being informed by his father James (Bill Nighy) that the men in their family can travel to different points in their history simply by climbing into a closet and concentrating, Tim sets out to find "Ms. Right" by exploiting his unlimited supply of do-overs. And it works: he meets, falls in love, and successfully woos Mary (Rachel McAdams, who attracts a lot of time travelers) after some targeted alterations to the time stream ensure a successful courtship.

Tim's ability comes with some other bittersweet benefits as well — he can travel back in time to hang out with his father even after James dies of cancer. Eventually, his dad discloses a unique secret to happiness for time travelers — live each day twice to appreciate all the little surprises and events that you missed the first time. It's a simple but profound lesson that shows you don't have to radically alter the timeline to enjoy time travel.

The  X-Men constantly struggle to improve relations between humans and mutants, but when things go horribly wrong in a possible future, only Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) can set things right. " X-Men: Days of Future Past " (2014) sees Logan sent back to the 1970s, where he teams up with a younger Charles Xavier ( James McAvoy ) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) to stop the rogue mutant Mystique ( Jennifer Lawrence ) from assassinating a bigoted scientist and starting a chain of events leading to the end of all mutants.

In typical Wolverine fashion, saving the future involves beating up a lot of people in the past. However, Logan is smart enough to know when he needs help, so he allows Xavier to use his mind as a bridge to the future, enabling the older Professor X (Patrick Stewart) to reawaken a sense of hope in his younger self. Thanks to this inspired move, Xavier comes up with a diplomatic solution to the impending catastrophe, resulting in a paradisiacal new future (at least until "Logan" (2017) came along...)

The Enterprise Crew

Time travel has been a staple in "Star Trek" ever since the original TV series. By the time the movies came around, most starships could easily navigate the time stream as long as you had someone like Mr. Spock performing the right time travel calculations.

What's most impressive, however, is how the Enterprise crew makes beneficial alterations to the timeline. In " Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home " (1986), the original Enterprise crew goes to 1986 San Francisco in order to retrieve a pair of humpback whales and restart the extinct species in the future. During a side mission, Scotty (James Doohan) shares the secret formula for "transparent aluminum" to the man credited with inventing the material, thereby tying everything in a neat causal loop.

Things aren't quite so clean for the Enterprise's next crew in "Star Trek: First Contact" (1996). After the villainous Borg assimilate Earth by preventing Zefram Cochrane (James Cromwell)'s historical first contact with an alien species, the Enterprise travels back to 2063 to stop them. Although the Enterprise destroys the Borg vessel, their engineers need to work around the clock to make sure Cochrane's damaged warp ship is ready for its date with history. Meanwhile, Captain Picard ( Patrick Stewart ), has to prevent the Borg from assimilating the Enterprise and using it as their weapon. Fortunately, things turn out okay, showing Gene Roddenberry's utopian vision of the future must be protected at all costs.

Captain America

"Avengers: Endgame" (2019) played fast and loose with the rules of time travel by having the  Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) explain that changing the past doesn't affect the future — it merely causes an alternate timeline to branch out from the original. Nevertheless, after performing a cross-time scavenger hunt for six Infinity Stones through four separate timelines, the Avengers decide to do the responsible thing by returning the stones after they help set things right in their time. And who better for the task than the Sentinel of Liberty, Captain America (Chris Evans)?

Only Cap has his own agenda. After returning the stones (and Thor's hammer), he decides to remain in the 1940s and live a full life with his soulmate Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) before returning to the present as an old man. It's a major alteration to at least one timeline that could potentially spawn a wildly different variant reality.

Except ... everything seems to turn out fine. The mainstream MCU timeline appears to be unaltered and Steve retains decades of happy memories from his temporal retirement. Granted, the Disney+ show " Loki " later suggests that the Time Variance Authority (TVA) may have been cleaning up after Steve by "pruning" or vaporizing the rogue timelines, but maybe they took it easy on this one. It is the home of Captain America, after all.

Much has been written about the climactic scene in Richard Donner's 1978's " Superman " movie. When one of Lex Luthor's (Gene Hackman) rogue missiles hits California's San Andreas Fault Line, Superman ( Christopher Reeve ) must deal with the fallout from a massive earthquake. Using his great strength and speed, the Man of Steel saves a falling school bus, repairs a train track with his body, and saves a town from an incoming flood. However, he's too late to save Lois Lane (Margot Kidder), who dies after her car falls into a giant crevice.

Devastated, Superman screams in anguish and begins flying around the planet so fast that he reverses time — healing much of the earthquake's devastation and bringing Lois back to life. While some audiences mock the scene for making Superman too powerful (surely someone who could fly that fast could have caught the missile before it started the earthquake), they miss the point about what this time travel scene shows about Superman's character.

At his core, Superman is a god who wants to be a man. Where other superheroes need to push themselves to the limit to save the day, Reeves' Superman is ordered by his father (Marlon Brando) to not use his full power, lest he alter humanity's destiny. For the most part, Superman submits to this — but when the woman he loves dies, he breaks the rules and defies time itself. It's a fantastic display of god-like power ... yet it's his most human act as well.

Okay, let's get one thing out of the way: anyone who can stuff eight historical figures into a phone booth like Bill S. Preston, Esq. (Alex Winter) and Ted "Theodore" Logan ( Keanu Reeves ) totally deserves a spot on this list just for that feat.

Still, " Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure " (1989) deserves props for more than its silliness. After learning that Bill and Ted's rock band "Wyld Stallyns" might break up if the teenage slackers can't pass their history class, time traveler Rufus (George Carlin) is tasked with saving the boys' music career. Seems Bill and Ted's music is supposed to inspire a future utopia, making it vital to humanity's survival.

Given access to Rufus' phone booth-shaped time machine, Bill and Ted travel to multiple points in history to get the real inside scoop on important historical events from Billy the Kid, Socrates, and Joan of Arc. However, the two also use time travel in other innovative ways — by getting their future selves to set up events so they can pull off brilliant escapes and other impossible feats in the present. Time travel may be hard for some people to grasp, but these two dim-witted rockers show they have an intuitive understanding of it. Excellent!

Hermione Granger

Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), the genius witch of the "Harry Potter" franchise, loves school and studying. In fact, she loves it so much that Professor McGonagall (Maggie Smith) loans her a "Time Turner" — a special magical device that lets the user travel through time — in " Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban " (2004) just so Hermione can take extra classes that happen to be scheduled at the same time.

Of course, this being a magical adventure, Hermione decides to use the Time Turner for more altruistic reasons when she transports Harry ( Daniel Radcliffe ) and herself back in time so they can relive a potentially tragic day and save Sirius Black ( Gary Oldman ), while also stopping the execution of hippogriff Buckbeak. It's a tricky time travel mission, but Harry and Hermione manage to pull it off without causing any universe-ending paradoxes.

Interestingly, the fact that Hermione kept reliving so many of her school days with the Time Turner means she's physically several months older than Harry or Ron by the end of the movie. Some might find this disconcerting, but for a scholar like Hermione, it was still time well spent.

The Time Traveler

You didn't think we'd leave the most iconic time traveler of literature and film off of this list, did you? First appearing in H.G. Wells' 1895 novel "The Time Machine," this scientist protagonist is literally called "The Time Traveler." Using his steampunk time machine to journey into the far future, the Time Traveler discovers a disconcerting truth — humanity will split into two species, the childlike Eloi and the subterranean Morlocks who eat them. Continuing his journey through time, the Time Traveler discovers other inevitable truths about the final fate of the world and the ways technology can foster humanity's decline.

Considered an iconic time travel story, "The Time Machine" has been adapted into various movies over the years. Many of these movies, like 2002's "The Time Machine" starring Guy Pearce, take liberties with the original plot. The Eloi are often depicted as more intelligent in the films, while the Time Traveler becomes more of an action-oriented hero in his battles with the Morlocks.

One interesting thing about the story is that the Time Traveler doesn't actually change history. Although he gets to travel farther forward in time than most "time tourists," he remains more of an observer than a meddler. This makes him far more responsible than other time travelers, who can't seem to help but litter the time stream with paradoxes. Temporal tourists may be careless people, but at least a few of them know what they're doing.

How X-Men: Days Of Future Past's Time Travel Works

X-Men: Days of Future Past Wolverine flanked by past and future X-Men

The future. It’s a place with infinite possibility, endless paths to follow and an insane number of channels to watch your daily doses of entertainment on. But what if we were to go back to “the good old days?” A time when peace and love was fighting war and hate, government corruption was in weighing heavily on the public consciousness and all you had to watch on TV was “all three networks, and PBS.” That’s exactly what we’re doing today, as X-Men: Days of Future Past depicts a trip to a time very much like that . Not to be outdone, I’ve hired Kitty Pryde to send me into the past, to the day in 2014 when I first saw that very film, in order to describe how the time travel works.

I know, I could just log into my Disney+ subscription and watch the X-Men movie easily enough. But if Wolverine can handle traveling back in time through painful, but powerful means, then don’t I owe it to you all to do the same? Before we take off, now’s a good time to suggest a stroll through our time travel archives here at the CinemaBlend labs. You never know what past lessons on going from here to there in the then and now may be important in the future. Now hang on, folks… this might sting a little.

X-Men: Days of Future Past Wolverine ready to fight in the '70s

The Time Travel in X-Men: Days Of Future Past

The future of X-Men: Days of Future Past is, quite frankly, hell on Earth. Mutants, the humans who tried to help them and anyone that was thought to be able to lead to the future procreation of mutants were all rounded up. A resistance is thriving in the shadows, but they’re going to need some time travel to make things right.

Who's Time Traveling

One James “Logan” Howlett will be making the jump through time in X-Men: Days of Future Past , but you would better know him as Wolverine ( Hugh Jackman ). While we did see Bishop travel back in time a smidge at the beginning of the movie, apparently Wolverine's the only mutant who can handle a huge trip into the past due to his regenerative abilities. But let’s face it, there was no way this story was being told without the most famous silver screen mutant before Deadpool came around.

From When To When

Following what took place in The Wolverine 's post-credits sequence , we reunited with Wolverine in “The Future” that X-Men: Days of Future Past takes place in. This apocalypse is set roughly 50 years after 1973, which is where we see most of this film’s events take place. If we go the full five decades, that puts us at 2023. Considering what 2020’s been like, it feels pretty close to accurate.

The Purpose Of Their Trip

All of X-Men: Days of Future Past’s grim future history hinges on one mission. Wolverine must gather the young versions of Professor X ( James McAvoy ) and Magneto ( Michael Fassbender ) to stop Mystique from killing industrialist Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage) at the Paris Peace Accords. His death leads to the U.S. government doubling down against mutants and, through the capture and experimentation on Mystique ( Jennifer Lawrence ), enhancing Trask’s Sentinel program to hunt down and eliminate mutants worldwide.

X-Men: Days of Future Past Kitty Pryde uses her powers on Wolverine

How Time Travel Happens In X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Time travel in X-Men: Days of Future Past is similar to the method used in the romantic comedy About Time . Wolverine is sent back in time through the phasing abilities of Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page), who can send a person’s consciousness back in time into their previous body. No cupboards are required for this head trip. However, there’s some very specific physical and mental demands required to make the trip.

Clearing your head and staying calm is still necessary, because if you’re not careful, your mind can slip from the past back to the present. As we saw in Kitty’s unfortunate case, Wolverine found his mind slipping in a conflict back in 1973, leaving him to freak out and accidentally injure her in X-Men: Days of Future Past ’s dangerous 2023. As if concentration wasn’t enough of a complication, there’s also the physical side effects to this manner of time travel.

Physically, if you were to travel through time in the manner that X-Men: Days of Future Past presents, you’d need the healing powers of a mutant to survive it. Wolverine is selected because he can “heal as fast as he’s ripped apart,” leaving him the only mutant physically able to survive a trip as expansive as this one. However, the consequences of the trip in X-Men: Days of Future Past are far greater, though well worth the effort.

X-Men: Days of Future Past Professor Xavier past and future have a talk

Can History Be Changed As A Result Of Time Travel In X-Men: Days Of Future Past?

Overall, X-Men: Days of Future Past is an exercise in overwriting the time-space continuum. We follow Wolverine on a linear path from the dystopian near-future back into the past, and ultimately the moments that turned the world into a hellhole are averted. Of course, if your movie goes from having Nicholas Hoult playing Beast to bringing back Kelsey Grammer in your big finale, you sure as hell can change history.

Interestingly enough, we do see Beast himself questioning whether time’s course is immutable or not. Hank McCoy wonders out loud in one pivotal scene if maybe the war between humanity and mutants is always meant to be, and if Mystique is destined to kill Bolivar Trask. But as we see in the long run, history can indeed be altered.

The course of time being diverted is even seen on a smaller scale in the beginning of X-Men: Days of Future Past , as the post-apocalyptic students of Professor Xavier found themselves able to play a long game against the Sentinels. By fighting, losing and transmitting the results of those failed fights to their past selves, they can stay ahead of the game and out of harm’s way. Of course, that can only be played out to a certain extent, and drastic measures must be taken.

That gambit is used with Wolverine across the span of 50 years, and the results are equally effective. Instead of living in a future where mutants are being hunted by vicious adaptive killing machines, the Sentinels no longer exist because the murder of Bolivar Trask, as well as the capture of Mystique by the US government, are prevented.

X-Men: Days of Future Past Jean Grey standing in a doorway

What Are the Consequences Of Time Travel In X-Men: Days Of Future Past?

The results of X-Men: Days of Future Past’s time travelling results in, quite possibly, the happiest point in Fox’s X-Men timeline. After a horrible show of force at the White House, thanks to Magneto hijacking Bolivar Trask’s Sentinels, the program that instituted their use is halted in 1973. Trask is also arrested for passing intelligence to a foreign government, basically sealing his fate.

In turn, the future war we saw at the beginning never happens, and Professor Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters is allowed to be open for business. But that's not without some major changes to the X-Men timeline, starting with the fact that both Jean Grey ( Famke Janssen ) and Cyclops ( James Marsden ) are still among the living! As X-Men: The Last Stand technically doesn’t happen after preventing X-Men: Days of Future Past , that iconic pair of mutant lovers don't find themselves meeting an untimely, Brett Ratner-directed end. Though that might have been more of an act of selective memory than time tinkering.

This naturally leaves a couple of re-writes in Wolverine’s timeline as well, thanks to some creative re-writes to Hugh Jackman's cinematic legacy. Presumably the events of X-Men and X-2: X-Men United still take place, as well as the eventual storylines of The Wolverine and Logan . However, there's a "missing" installment, thanks to X-Men: Days of Future Past triggering a totally different introduction between Wolverine and Colonel William Stryker, thanks to X-Men Origins: Wolverine not existing. We even see a different account of Logan's escape from government custody, thanks to X-Men: Apocalypse retconning that very moment.

Perhaps the greatest question of all is whether or not “The Westchester Incident” and Professor X’s tragic mental deterioration await six years down the line from this particular film. As Logan’s 2029 timeframe would suggest the answer is "yes," the placement of Wolverine's swan song in the X-Men canon was never truly clarified. At best, this question is left open for fans to answer for themselves; but at worst... this whole timeline will be scrapped by time Marvel reboots the X-Men series, and it doesn't matter.

X-Men: Days of Future Past Professor Xavier smiles knowingly

The Future Is Never Truly Set

Wow. Traveling back to 2014 was… kind of nice. You could sit in movie theaters full of people and popcorn, and the X-Men movies were still good! Though I did end up sitting through The Amazing Spider-Man 2 again before coming back, and yeah, some things really are better in the present. Our next journey’s not going to be so easy, nor is it going to be pleasant, as we’re going to head to a very specific place at a very specific time.

We’re going to Middlesex, Virginia on October, 2, 1988, where a young Donnie Darko learns about time travel the hard way. It’s a very mad world when we pick up our temporal lessons again, so take the time in-between these sessions to take a breather, pet an animal, and get as much joy as you can. But before we go, there’s the usual business to take care of.

If there’s a special adventure throughout time and space you want to see tackled here at the CinemaBlend labs, feel free to drop us a line any time to tell us what you have in mind. And don’t forget that you can always look for our past adventures in time throughout the archives on the site. Everything from Back to the Future to three of the four Star Trek time travel adventures has been on the block, and there’s even a full rundown on The Terminator’s time travelling hijinks .

'Time traveller' reveals the exact date that World War 3 will start

'Time traveller' reveals the exact date that World War 3 will start

Self-described “ time travellers” on TikTok continue to fascinate social media users, and the latest viral account has made one of the boldest predictions yet.

The figure, who goes by the name "Trevor the Time Traveller", is the latest person to claim they’re from the future on the platform and they bring with them bad news.

Trevor claims to be posting videos from two decades in the future, and he also says he's on the hunt to find his friend "Roger" aka "Chronos”.

We’re more than a little sceptical of course, but the oddly fascinating videos have been gaining viewers over recent days – and the big one relates to the outbreak of World War III.

According to Trevor, we don’t have very long until something very bad happens.

A new clip posted on the account sees Trevor write: "Here are 3 dates that something terrible is going to happen.

"Remember this date 2/21/2024 - something very big will happen,” he wrote.

"29/5/2030 - A third world war will start, lasting 7 years between the north and south.

"2037 - The war ends and a second baby boom happens, growing the population too high."

@trevorthetimetraveler #time #timetravel #timetraveler #help #alien

It’s an ominous prediction - but it’s not the strangest thing TikTok ‘time travellers’ have made videos about in the past.

Another person claiming to have the ability to travel through time, this one going by @timevoyaging, took an even more apocalyptic approach to the whole thing.

According to them, we’re only a year away from coming up against a hugely destructive species known as ‘Azawa’ who live underground and end up destroying humanity as we know it.

Time travel has been one of the biggest tropes in science fiction for years. But what if you could actually go back in time and visit a loved one before their death? There’s, obviously, a lot we don’t know about what kind of consequences time travel might bring to the table , but that hasn’t stopped physicist Ron Mallet from a lifelong obsession with trying to figure out the time travel equation.

What’s even more impressive about this lifelong endeavor, though, is that Mallet now claims to have solved the equation and figured out how to build an actual time machine. Mallet’s inspiration and obsession with time travel originally began when he was much younger, Earth.com notes . Following the death of his beloved father, Mallet lost himself in novels, including The Time Machine by H.G. Wells.

ultramassive black hole in space

It is certainly a respectable goal, especially for anyone who has lost someone they loved dearly. Mallet says that his idea of a time machine centers around an “intense and continuous rotating beam of light” that can manipulate gravity. A device built by him, following his equation, would use a ring of lasers to mimic the effects of a black hole, which appears to distort space and time around them.

Of course, learning the time travel equation and building a working time machine are two different things altogether. Sure, scientists have simulated black holes in a lab once or twice, but never anything with the kind of power or reality-effecting pull that Mallet seems to think would make time travel possible. That isn’t to say that he’s got things wrong, though.

His equation for time travel may be exactly what is needed to break through this lifelong obsession and actually travel back in time. But building something capable of testing it is going to be a whole separate endeavor in and of itself.

NCAA transfer portal: Here's where Xavier Musketeers' roster stands

Will more musketeers exit via the transfer portal.

time traveller xavier

Having fun yet?

It didn't take long for the ball to start rolling on the Xavier Musketeers' roster reload after the program's first losing season in nearly three decades wrapped up with a first-round NIT loss to Georgia .

Over the past six days, Xavier has seen seven scholarship players depart from this year's team and have added one transfer. Here's where the roster sits right now and what to expect moving forward.

Who has Xavier lost in the NCAA's transfer portal?

An offseason of change tipped off less than a day after Xavier's season came to an end in Athens when sophomore guard Kam Craft became the first Musketeer to enter the NCAA's transfer portal.

FOLLOW THE MADNESS: NCAA tournament brackets, scores, schedules, teams and more.

Craft was soon joined by freshmen forwards Kachi Nzeh and Sasa Ciani , center Abou Ousmane and senior Gytis Nemeiksa . Freshman guard Reid Ducharme was the sixth Musketeer to exit when he hit the portal on Wednesday.

Center Logan Duncomb, a Moeller High School product who left the Musketeers in October for health reasons, also entered the transfer portal , along with walk-on Brad Colbert. According to Sean Miller, Colbert is considering a transfer to a Division II program for an increased role.

On Thursday, Xavier freshman Lazar Djokovic announced on X that he has entered the portal.

Of course, it's worth mentioning that Xavier will also lose leading scorer Quincy Olivari (19.1 points per game), who is out of eligibility.

Who has Xavier added in the portal?

So far, Xavier has made one transfer portal splash. On Wednesday, Furman transfer guard Marcus Foster committed to the Musketeers.

Foster has one year of eligibility left and will use it at Xavier after spending five seasons at Furman. He redshirted his first season, then averaged 10 points per game over the last four. Last season, the 6-foot-4 senior guard averaged 17 points and a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game.

In 2023, Foster helped guide the Paladins to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 43 years. In the first round, he scored 14 points in Furman's upset of Virginia.

Foster brings experience and versatility to the Xavier lineup. Foster won't completely replace Olivari as a sharpshooter from deep (he's hit at a 33.3% clip from downtown his collegiate career), but he's a weapon from both inside and beyond the arc. Foster also gets to the free-throw line frequently and shot over 80% from the charity stripe in each of the last two seasons.

He can also dive down and crash the boards, a welcomed trait after the Musketeers struggle to rebound throughout last season. Xavier allowed 10.7 offensive rebounds per game, which was 10th in the Big East.

Who is left from last season?

Xavier's roster has been trimmed, but some key pieces still remain.

Starting in the backcourt, Dayvion McKnight (12.4 ppg) has already announced his intention to stay at Xavier and use his additional year of eligibility. He would be slated to join current sophomore Desmond Claude in Xavier's backcourt next season. That tandem − along with Olivari − made up Xavier's Big 3 that carried the weight for the Musketeers all season.

Claude was named the Big East's Most Improved Player after averaging 16.6 points per game. McKnight developed as a scorer over the second half of the season and finished 19th in the NCAA in assist-to-turnover ratio.

Could other Musketeers leave?

The short answer − yes.

From how the roster is shaping up in the early stages of the portal, there are a few question marks left on the table in freshmen Trey Green and Dailyn Swain. Swain, a Columbus native who showed glimpses of his potential late in the season before an appendectomy ended his year , appears to be staying.

It would be a surprise given Claude's role for Xavier moving forward, but he's yet to publicly announce his intention to stay with the Musketeers.

There have yet to be any reports regarding Green, a freshman guard who garnered valuable Big East playing time in his first collegiate season.

Every player looking for a new opportunity has to be in the portal by the time it closes May 1. There is plenty of time for more moves to be made, though the majority of entrants seem to hit the portal early enough to talk to potential suitors.

Who is Xavier targeting in the transfer portal?

Foster won't be Xavier's only transfer portal addition before the calendar flips to May. Expect the Musketeers to add at least one or two more pieces for next season. Remember, Xavier only has one scholarship filled by its incoming recruiting class in Centerville product Jonathan Powell.

With the backcourt already beefed up by the addition of Foster, all signs point to Xavier trying to find some help near the rim. Down low, 6-foot-10 transfer centers Josh Cohen (UMass), Michael Nwoko (Miami, Fla.) and Amari Williams (Drexel) have heard from Xavier, according to reports.

A Wednesday report from On3Sports' Jamie Shaw stated that Youngstown State forward D.J. Burns has also received interest from Xavier. Burns was top-5 in the nation last season in rebounds (11 per game) and posted 22 double-doubles.

Don't forget, Xavier's biggest additions for next season are already on the roster in forwards Zach Freemantle and Jerome Hunter, two projected starting forwards who were lost to season-ending injuries.

Analyzing Xavier's roster changes so far

None of these are particularly surprising given the changes expected at Cintas Center going into next season. Craft and Ducharme would've been buried on the depth chart behind a strong, balanced backcourt.

Xavier's frontcourt was a well-known weakness all season with inexperience after Hunter and Freemantle went down in the preseason. You could've seen one of those pieces hanging around for a smaller role, but the portal gives the potential promise of playing time and NIL opportunity for its entrants, and some difficult conversations with the Xavier brass were probably held once the season ended.

It will be interesting to see if Green were to enter the transfer portal. He would come off the bench next season but has the potential with his shot-making ability to make a second-year leap in the Big East.

A time traveller is warning of pending disasters

A self-proclaimed “time traveller” claims to have returned from the year 2671 to warn of us of pending disasters including one this weekend.

Eno Alaric, who is also known as @radianttimetraveller on TikTok , has built up a following of more than 826,000 followers as he tells of looming catastrophes that are set to affect the world.

The social media user has previously issued warnings about twin planets colliding with Earth, alien visitors and even the start of World War 3. And this time he is advising of further bizarre and sometimes horrific events that he claims will happen including an earthquake and a “Pandora’s Box” that will take people to another universe.

But before that the time traveller is saying that there will be a devastating tornado, the first ever force six, that will hit Houston in Texas and will be the worst ever to affect humans.

He starts off by stating: “Attention, yes I am a real time traveller, these are major events to come in the rest of 2024.” And then he leads into the events: “Part 1. February 17: The first ever f6 tornado occurs, hitting Houston, Texas. It destroys almost the entire city, making it the worst tornado in history of mankind.

“March 28: An ancient artifact is found, when touched, it sends you to another universe. It’s called ‘Pandora’s Box’, the universes can be very similar, or completely different, like people being dorito shaped. April 2: A 9.8 magnitude earthquake, called Big John, occurs on the San Andreas fault. Soon after this, a 750ft high tsunami hits the California coastline, many large cities are in ruins, including San Francisco.

“May 15: An alien lands on Earth known as ‘The Champion’, he is here to take 10000 people to another habitable planet. He was here once before and has returned to try to save us from The 47, they will be chosen randomly.

His predictions have gone viral with more than 39,000 likes and 2,237 people commenting on them. Many have referred to his warning for the hurricane to hit Houston with one person writing: “I live in Houston and do not approve of this message,” and another said: “I don’t think you have any idea of how big Houston really is.”

There have been plenty of skeptics with one comment: “Please make a video of all your predictions that have come to pass” and a further said “They only share bad things. Why not share some positive.” And another added: “How come no time traveller can ever share the winning lottery numbers?”
