Janet Jackson Hangs Out Backstage with Tom Cruise During Tour Stop: 'It Was So Good Seeing You'

Jackson has also taken photos with Angela Bassett, Katie Homes, Ciara and more during her Together Again Tour

Janet Jackson made some time for her pal Tom Cruise on the road!

The pop icon, 56, and Top Gun star, 60, met up this week and posed for a photo during Jackson's Charlotte, North Carolina stop on her Together Again Tour , as Jackson shared the photo with a friendly caption to Instagram over the weekend.

"T, it was so good seeing you and nice spending some time together 😊 #TogetherAgainTour 🫶🏽," Jackson wrote.

In what Ciara called an "amazing photo" from behind-the-scenes at Charlotte's PNC Music Pavilion, Cruise can be seen with his arm around Jackson as he wears a lightweight jacket and a pair of blue jeans with messy medium-length hair. Jackson can be seen in the pic wearing an all-grey ensemble with a scarf around her neck.

And Cruise isn't the only star to show up for a Jackson gig, as plenty of celebs have posed for pictures with the pop great during her latest trek, including Angela Bassett , Ciara, Katie Holmes , Questlove and more.

"Sooo good seeing all of you," Jackson wrote to the attendees after a Madison Square Garden show last week. "Thank you for coming to the show…I really hope you enjoyed it. I can't wait to spend some quality time soon! ♥️ #TogetherAgainTour 🫶🏽"

The Together Again Tour kicked off in Hollywood, Florida back in April as Jackson took her show on the road for the first time in nearly four years and brought a massive, 40-song setlist with her.

Her show (named in honor of her The Velvet Rope hit), focused on her decades-long catalog — with live debuts of a few deeper cuts and performances of essentials, such as "All For You," "That's the Way Love Goes" and of course, "Together Again."

Jackson announced the tour back in December when she shared that the 33-date trip around North America would include hip-hop heavyweight Ludacris . It follows Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 anniversary tour, and her Metamorphosis Las Vegas residency from the summer of 2019. Before that, she promoted her Unbreakable album during the three legs of her State of the World Tour from 2017-2019.

"You guys, I miss you so much, I am so excited to see you," Janet said in an Instagram video revealing the news. "You guys have no idea, I've missed you so much, so much, and I can't wait to be with you. I'm so excited."

Cruise met up with another music star recently, when he and Shakira united at the 2023 Miami Formula One Grand Prix to pose for some photos.

The two celebs enjoyed the event as part of a group last Sunday, one day after Shakira received Billboard's first Woman of the Year award at the inaugural Latin Women in Music gala .

The stars are coming out for  Janet Jackson ! The pop icon has taken to documenting her visitors while traveling on the road for her "Together Again" tour, her ninth concert tour to date.  

On Friday, Jackson performed a concert in Charlotte, North Carolina, which was attended by none other than Tom Cruise . The Top Gun: Maverick  star met with the singer backstage to catch up, which she shared by posting a photo of them posing together on her Instagram page.

"T, it was so good seeing you and nice spending some time together 😊 #TogetherAgainTour," Jackson captioned the sweet snapshot of Cruise with his arm around Jackson as she beams into the camera.

Cruise is just the latest of Jackson's star-studded visitors, which includes Ciara, Angela Bassett, Questlove, Katie Holmes and more.

Jackson shared photos of herself will all the celebrity attendees at her Madison Square Garden show in New York last week on Instagram. "Sooo good seeing all of you," the singer wrote to the attendees after the show. "Thank you for coming to the show…I really hope you enjoyed it. I can't wait to spend some quality time soon! ♥️ #TogetherAgainTour"

Jackson even gave a special shout-out to Busta Rhymes, who joined her onstage for her Madison Square Garden stop. 

"Bus, thank you for joining us last night. I love you so much!!! Not just for sharing your amazing craft with the world but more importantly, your incredible soul! So beautiful!!! Thank you once again, I love you 😘😘😘 #TogetherAgainTour," she wrote to the rapper alongside photos of their time together onstage.

"Queen Royal Empress @janetjackson There’s no amount of words or emotions that I can muster up to describe the fulfillment and Dream come true moment that this has been for me and I Hope was for you Icon," Rhymes responded in a comment below the post.

"I’m forever humbled and grateful for the way you always embraced me and loved me and am even more grateful for how you have given me the opportunity to show you how much I love you," he added. "Thank you for being one of my greatest inspirations for my entire life thus far and thank you for creating such a Historic and Legendary moment with me 25YRS ago and 25YRS later last night at your Sold Out MSG Concert blessing me with the opportunity to be apart of it. You will forever be held in the highest regard as Royalty Queen. Continuous Blessings. I love you and thank you again.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👑👑👑👑"

It's been four years since Jackson last hit the road, having done so in 2019 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of  Rhythm Nation 1814 . She was scheduled to go on tour in 2020, but the concerts were canceled due to the pandemic. 

Jackson announced her highly anticipated return to the road back in December when she shared that the 33-date trip around North America would include rapper Ludacris. "Together Again" features a 40-song setlist of classics from across her career, and deep cuts she’s never performed live before.

Speaking with ET backstage at Madison Square Garden ahead of her tour stop in New York City, the "Rhythm Nation" singer couldn't contain her pride when it came to talking about how her music catalog transcends generations.

"It's always nice for me and I love when I see the different generations," said Jackson, who had famed fashion designer  Christian Siriano  design one of her outfits. "And even here, I meet some of the fans backstage after the show. And they'll say, 'You know, I first saw you when I was such and such age, and my mother took me and now my daughter and my son, and I'm bringing them to the show and they watch your videos.' So it's always nice to have the different generations."

And what makes this tour incredibly special is that it marks Jackson's 50th anniversary of being in the music industry, a business Jackson's undoubtedly left an indelible impression on with her legendary talent.

"This one's special," she added. "I started young but it means a great deal to me to still have God allow me to do what it is that I do. I'm so appreciative. And for the people to still be interested to come and see what it is that that I do, that we do. I'm very, very fortunate and very appreciative."

Jackson's "Together Again" tour wraps June 21 in Seattle, Washington.

Tom Cruise Seen Visiting Charlotte Over The Weekend

Legendary actor Tom Cruise visited Charlotte over the weekend to watch Janet Jackson perform live at the PNC Music Pavilion.

The visit was also likely related to NASCAR’s 75th anniversary, as Cruise was the star of the hit NASCAR movie filmed in Charlotte, ‘ Days of Thunder ‘, as well as narrating the 2009 film about Charlotte’s Hendrick Motorsports, ‘ Together ‘.

60-year-old Cruise took the time to pose with a number of fans at the concert, as well as with Jackson herself.

Let’s Take a Peek Inside Tom Cruise’s Property Portfolio

At long last, “Top Gun: Maverick” is set to land in theaters at the end of May. A-lister Tom Cruise will step back into the cockpit and reprise his role as test pilot Maverick.

Now 59, the seemingly ageless performer has been box-office gold since the 1980s. His hits include “Cocktail,” “Jerry McGuire,” and “A Few Good Men.” The father of three also starred in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise, the latest of which is the upcoming “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.”

With the superstar set to take off on the big screen, we thought we’d take a spin through the actor’s real estate.

Along with starring in blockbusters over the decades, the “Mission: Impossible” star has been busy when it comes to pricey real estate. In many cases, the paparazzi-averse Cruise tends to buy up multiple lots in extremely private locales.

So don your aviators, and let’s head into the “property zone.”

Clearwater condos

The star’s latest “mission”: a move to a giant spread in Clearwater, FL . He dropped $9,580,500 on a 20,826-square-foot, two-level penthouse in 2017. It’s located in the Skyview tower , which was reportedly altered to accommodate Cruise, according to the Tampa Bay Times .

The actor’s lavish living quarters include four bedrooms, a gym, game room, home theater, roof deck with an infinity pool, hot tub, gardens, and a bar, according to the Times.

The penthouse boasts a private garage with a car elevator on the second floor. That level also apparently includes a flight simulator. (Perhaps Cruise could get in some practice for his “Top Gun” role?) There’s also office space and a sports storage area.

Cruise paid an additional $1,475,000 for three more condos in the Clearwater high-rise, perhaps for staff or relatives.

The building, developed by fellow Scientologist Moises Agami , is located just blocks from the Church of Scientology headquarters. Cruise has been a member of the church since 1986.

Terrific in Telluride

More recently, the “Risky Business” actor took care of a piece of business in the Rocky Mountain region. He sold his longtime Telluride, CO, ranch for a whopping $39.5 million.

Cruise had held on to the 320-acre mountain retreat for decades, before trying to quietly sell it for $59 million in 2014. It was relisted in March 2021 for $39.5 million and quickly sold.

Cruise spent years amassing the land, then built a 10,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom home in 1994.

The picturesque home was the setting for a photo shoot with Vanity Fair magazine featuring his daughter Suri  with his then-wife Katie Holmes . Oprah Winfrey also interviewed Cruise at the home in 2008.

The main house includes a chef’s kitchen, fitness center, rec room, den, office suite, two fireplaces, and multiple terraces. There’s also a three-bedroom guest lodge.

Though secluded, the retreat is just minutes to Telluride and a two-hour private jet flight from L.A.

Lavish in Los Angeles

Before decamping to the Sunshine State, the busy actor let go of his holdings in La-La land.

In 2016, Cruise sold the Beverly Hills compound he had shared with  Holmes . The 1.2-acre spread changed hands for a startling $38 million. He had paid $30.5 million in 2007.

The compound included a 10,000-square-foot mansion with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, a tennis court, a swimming pool, and a pair of guesthouses.

That sale came almost a year after he sold his Hollywood Hills compound to  Eva Longoria for $11.4 million.

Initially listed for $13 million, that property featured two adjoining houses built in 2005 on an ultraprivate 2.75-acre lot. The compound consists of a three-bedroom French villa, a four-bedroom guesthouse, two standalone studios, and a quaint stone cottage.

Beverly Hills rental home with Holmes

Cruise and Holmes leased a mansion in the 90210 for $55,000 a month from 2001 through 2008.

Last offered for lease for $100,000 a month in 2016, the three-acre estate includes a nine-bedroom main house, a guesthouse, a pool with a spa, and a tennis court.

Crash pad in New York City

Cruise sold his longtime East Village loft in the American Felt Building for $3 million in 2013. He had picked up the pied-à-terre in 1984, following his starring role in “Risky Business.”

The two-bedroom, 2,200-square-foot unit is said to contain a state-of-the-art gym. It’s located on the 10th floor of the 12-floor building.

Cruise reportedly shared the condo with all three of his ex-wives, including Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman . The building housed other notable residents, including author Bret Easton Ellis and the Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti , the Real Deal reported at the time of the sale. Cruise’s loft was sold in an off-market deal.

Fans of "Top Gun" actor Tom Cruise have the option of moving into the star's home, if they're willing to pay top dollar.

Cruise has listed a 2.5-acre Hollywood Hills West property at $12,995,000. The home is rumored to have been a secluded retreat for members of Cruise's Scientology faith, said Alec Traub, a Redfin real estate agent in Los Angeles.

"Cruise's stunning European-style villa sits on the top of a hill, behind tall gates and at the end of a long private driveway," Traub said. "Trying to get a look at it from the street would be 'Mission Impossible!'"

Combined, the main home and guest home total 7 bedrooms and 6.75 bathrooms. There is also a parking garage with 10 spaces and a separate building that could be used as a wine cellar and tasting room. The outdoor retreat includes a patio, heated pool, spa and waterfall.

"It has the feel of an Italian farm house, albeit a very luxurious one," the Realtor said.

According to Redfin, breathtaking views of Los Angeles can be seen from outside and from inside through the glass walls.

Blink and you'll miss it: It's another Connor Cruise sighting.

On June 2, Tom Cruise  and ex-wife Nicole Kidman 's son shared a group selfie with two friends at Belleair Country Club in Florida on his Instagram Stories.

Connor, 28, last posted a pic of himself on his account April 29 . In the photo, he was also seen golfing with a friend at a different county club in the state, where he lives.

Both Connor, a DJ, and his sister, artist  Bella Kidman Cruise , 30, have largely kept out of the spotlight despite growing up with famous parents, and rarely post on social media. Connor is occasionally photographed at fashion events and sometimes attends ballgames with his dad . He also shares Instagram pics of himself golfing, fishing or grilling meats, as well as throwback images of himself and his sister as children.

Connor and Bella are the only children Tom and Nicole, who divorced in 2001 , share together. The  Mission: Impossible actor also shares daughter  Suri Cruise , 17, with ex-wife  Katie Holmes , while the  Big Little Lies actress and husband Keith Urban  are parents to daughters  Sunday Rose Kidman Urban , 14, and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban , 12.

Tom Cruise produced a movie in Eugene during the summer of 1996 about Steve Prefontaine

In 1996 a film crew descended on Eugene to make a movie about Steve Prefontaine.

The film followed the relationship between record-breaking distance runner Steve Prefontaine and his coach Bill Bowerman.

Prefontaine was a star athlete from Coos Bay who ran for the University of Oregon and later competed in the Olympics in the 1970s.

He died in an automobile accident in Eugene on May 30, 1975, at the age of 24.

The film was written and directed by Robert Towne and produced by Tom Cruise.

Hundreds of locals appear as extras in the film at locations around Oregon, Lane Community College and Hayward Field.

The $25 million movie was released and distributed by Warner Bros. in 1998.

Cruise himself visited Eugene in 1998 for a screening of the film at the McDonald Theater.

The movie was well-received by critics but ended up grossing only $777,000 at the box office.
