The Cure announced their first run of North American dates in more than four years on Thursday (March 9). The Robert Smith-led band’s Shows of a Lost World Tour is slated to kick off on May 10 at the Smoothie Center in New Orleans and take the goth rock icons through Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal and Atlanta before wrapping up at Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, FL on July 1.

Tickets for all 30 dates will go on sale via Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program beginning March 15; pre-registration is required and registration will close on March 13 at 10 a.m. PT. In the wake of ticket sale snafus affecting Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny onsales, in a message to fans, the Cure wrote, “we have priced tickets to benefit fans and our efforts to block scalpers and limited inflated resale prices are being supported by our ticketing partners.”

At press time there was no information about new music from the band, though Smith has been promising a follow-up to 2008’s 4:13 Dream for several years .

The Cure Announce First North American Tour Since 2016 + Are Trying to Block Scalpers From Buying Tickets

It's official — goth rock/new wave legends The Cure will embark on a North American tour this year, their first continental run since 2016.

Dubbed the "Shows of a Lost World" tour, the 30-date jaunt will kick off on May 10 in New Orleans, trekking through several major markets in the U.S. and Canada with things wrapping up on June 1 in Miami.

Opening each night are The Twilight Sad, a post-punk/indie rock group from Scotland who have been on the road with The Cure on previous tours. It also happens to be the 20th anniversary since their formation, so perhaps a special set is in order as they also continue to promote their most recent album, 2019's  It Won/t Be Like This All the Time .

The Cure, meanwhile, are expected to release a new album this year, which will be their first studio effort since 2008's  4:13 Dream . Last year, fans were even treated to a couple of new songs live , which are presumably on the forthcoming  Songs of a Lost World album, the title which frontman Robert Smith confirmed earlier in 2022. He also forecasted a fall 2022 release, so fans have really been on edge waiting for this new record.

Per The Cure's website, tickets will be available on March 15 via Ticketmaster Verified Fan Sale, which requires registration to access . "We have priced tickets to benefit fans and our efforts to block scalpers and limited inflated resale prices are being supported by our ticketing partners," the band also confirmed.

About Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes

Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes is the premiere walk event supporting all people living with diabetes. It is a unique opportunity for businesses, clubs, friends, and family to form teams with the vision of a life free of diabetes and all its burdens. Formerly known as "Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes" and "America's Walk for Diabetes", the event has been taking place for 32 years and has raised millions of dollars to Stop Diabetes!

FPMA members were able to participate in person during the 2022 American Diabetes Association (ADA) Step Out Walk in Florida. The event took place in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, September 24. This marked the 13th year in a row that FPMA has participated in this very worthwhile fundraising event.

Step Out South Florida (9/24/22)

After a two-year COVID hiatus, podiatrists were once again cycling in the streets of Lake Nona, Florida with Team FPMA at the 2022 ADA Tour de Cure fundraising event on Sunday, March 27. Team FPMA raised $20,688 for the ADA as teammates cycled 25, 62, or 101 miles during the Orlando area event.

FPMA members participated in the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Step Out Walk in Florida for the 12th year in a row in 2021. The event took place VIRTUALLY on Saturday, October 16, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants were encouraged to participate in the event at or near their homes.

Step Out Florida (10/16/21)

The 2021 ADA Tour de Cure: Florida took place VIRTUALLY on Sunday, April 18, 2021. Participants were encouraged to ride, run, or walk in their neighborhoods or at home to support over 34 million people living with diabetes, including 2.3 million in Florida.

FPMA members participated in the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Step Out Walk in Florida for the 11th year in a row in 2020. However, the event took place VIRTUALLY on Saturday, October 17, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants were encouraged to participate in the event at or near their homes.

Similar to the Florida ADA Step Out Walks, the ADA sponsors fundraising bicycle events throughout the country. There are now running/walking opportunities during these events as well.

The 2020 ADA Lake Nona Tour de Cure , originally planned for March 29, 2020, changed to a VIRTUAL Tour de Cure that took place on Saturday, June 13, 2020 . Participants were encouraged to participate in the event at or near their homes and send photographs or videos to be shared on the Facebook Tour de Cure page.

FPMA encouraged ALL members to participate in Step Out Walk fundraising, including members that were not in an area where a Step Out Walk occurs. FPMA created a Statewide Step Out Team that collected funds from any member/component that raised money in non-Walk areas. All FPMA component presidents were provided with information about this fundraising opportunity and were asked to present the information to their component members.

The FPMA Committee on Public Affairs partnered with several key chapters of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in Florida and FPMA served as one of the sponsors of six separate Step Out to Fight Diabetes Walks that took place across the state in 2010. In addition to forming walking teams, FPMA components had displays set up at the Walks, manned by members, and provided free foot screenings to attendees of the events. This type of recurrent statewide sponsorship is the first of several targeted markets that the Committee on Public Affairs is planning as part of FPMA's long-term strategic plan.

We hope that individual FPMA members and component societies continue to get involved in these events as they take place in their areas. FPMA continues to strive to educate the public and health care community on the educational expertise that Today’s Podiatric Physician possesses.

The Cure announce first North American Tour since 2016, including a stop in Tampa this Summer

English rock band The Cure have announced a 30-date 2023 North American tour including three consecutive nights at both LA's Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden in New York.

The band will kick off the tour at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on May 10, with stops including Austin, Phoenix, San Diego, Seattle, Vancouver, Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia, before stopping off in Tampa's Amalie Arena for the penultimate show on June 29, with the tour ending on July 1 at the Miami-Dade Arena.

Tickets for the Tampa show go on sale Friday, March 17 at 10 am via Ticketmaster .

Support on all dates comes from the Twilight Sad.

This will be the bands first US Tour since 2016, with the band only having performed at Pasadena Daydream Festival and Austin City Limits in 2019.

In recent years, Robert Smith has been teasing a Cure album, giving regular progress reports. In 2019, after being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Smith said, “If I’m optimistic it will be finished before the start of this summer.”

The album still hasn’t materialized, but we may see new material with the announcement of this tour.

The band’s last studio album was 2008’s 4:13 Dream . In recent years, Smith has collaborated with Gorillaz and remixed Chvrches, Deftones, and, just this week, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Tour de Cure is the premier fundraising campaign of the American Diabetes Association ® , now with virtual engagement designed for anyone and everyone to participate. The campaign has been expanded to include more members of our community and bring them together to learn about diabetes, healthy living and to support people living with diabetes. The Verification Code is imprinted on credit cards to help merchants verify transactions when the actual card is not present, such as Internet purchases or donations. The merchant uses this number as part of the authorization process with the card issuer.

Visa, Master Card, and Discover

The verification code for Visa, Master Card, and Discover is a 3-digit number printed on the back of your card. It appears after the account number or last 4-digits of your account number, in the signature panel.

American Express

The American Express verification code is a 4-digit number printed on the front of your card. It appears above and to the right of the embossed account number.
