Your guide will show you the Gradska loza (the Old City Hall) from the 15th Century, the city walls, and the Kamerlengo Castle , which was once the residence of the Venetian governor. On the sea-side of the island, you may see the Sea Gate , which was built in the 16th Century, and the nearby old fish market , located in an open loggia, surrounded by a colonnade.

After sightings we are moving forward for lunch in local restaurant.

4-day cruise split to dubrovnik, split to makarska.

Jump on board and meet your Captain, crew and shipmates! Check-in is from 11am to 12pm and we aim to depart Split for Makarska at around 1pm and get the socialising started with lunch and a much-needed swim stop. We dock into Makarska late in the afternoon, giving you time to go around the towns, grab a gelato and have dinner in one of the many restaurants, pizzerias and tavernas that line the promenades. In Makarska, the most popular way to spend the night is at the famous Club Deep, also known as the “Rave in a Cave”. Say no more…

Mljet (or Slano/Sipan) to Dubrovnik

With some gorgeous bays around Mljet, Slano and Sipan, we are spoilt for choice for a swim stop this morning. We then cross to Dubrovnik through the Elaphite archipelago of islands – a truly amazing sight.

We arrive in Dubrovnik in the early afternoon, which gives you time for some must-dos, including a sunset walk around the famous walls and sampling a cocktail at one of the cliff bars as you watch the sun go down.

There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in and around the Old City, as well as events at clubs such as Revelin.

Optional excursions:

(1) Dubrovnik is also the setting for the capital city of Westeros, Kings Landing, in Game of Thrones. If you are a fan, why not take a walking tour of the locations of the most famous scenes in the ultra-popular show and get an overview of the history of Dubrovnik at the same time? If you are not a GOT fan then we also have a dedicated Dubrovnik Historical Walk that focuses on the city’s non-fictional history.

(2) Close to where your boat docks in Gruz port, there is a secluded beach with a 250-metre long ZIPLINE! We can arrange transfer there and back, with a zipline ride (or 2!) included in the excursion.

Makarska to Mljet

Our boat leaves early for the crossing to Mljet Island. After lunch, we will dock in either Pomena or Polace and have the rest of the afternoon free to explore this island’s stunning National Park and its lakes.

There are several options for this exploration: hire a bike for a few hours and pedal your way around the lakes’ excellent cycle paths, hire a kayak for paddle-power or simply go for a hike. We also offer an optional onboard Captain’s mixed grill dinner this evening (either in Mljet or we might head over to Slano or Sipan island) as the setting is perfect.

Optional excursions: Entrance to Mljet National Park (approx 20 Euros), bike or kayak hire (from 6 Euros), Captain’s mixed grill dinner (approx 25 Euros, depending on inclusions).

Check-out from your cabin is after breakfast, by 10am, but you can leave your bags on the boat as there is still plenty to see and do!

We recommend: (1) Taking a cable car ride up to Mount Srd for the most incredible view imaginable.

(2) Dubrovnik is also the setting for the capital city of Westeros, Kings Landing, in Game of Thrones. If you are a fan, why not take a walking tour of the locations of the most famous scenes in the ultra-popular show and get an overview of the history of Dubrovnik at the same time?

(3) Take a shuttle boat over to Lokrum Island from the Old City.

Wish your shipmates a fond farewell, enjoy Dubrovnik and reflect on an incredible few days!

How to get from Split to Dubrovnik

Taking a day trip to Dubrovnik from Split is pretty easy. Dubrovnik is around 142 miles (230 kilometres) from Split, and there are several different ways to get there.

Split to Dubrovnik by car

Driving from Split to Dubrovnik is fairly straightforward. The coastal route takes around three hours but it can take longer in high season (the peak summer months).

It’s a pretty scenic ride along the Croatian coast, so even if it’s a fairly long journey, the scenic route makes up for it. Bear in mind that you need to do a border crossing to go from Split to Dubrovnik, since the road crosses into Bosnia & Herzegovina.

There are a few different car rental companies in Split for you to choose to hire a car from, the only problem could be finding a place to park once you arrive in Dubrovnik.

If you already have a car as part of a longer Croatia itinerary then driving is the easiest option.

However, I wouldn’t recommend renting one just for this Split to Dubrovnik day trip, as you’ll be better off with public transportation or an organised tour.

Bus from Split to Dubrovnik

The bus from Split to Dubrovnik is a good choice if you don’t want to drive yourself. Buses regularly connect the two cities; but the journey takes around four and a half hours, so it’s not exactly the quickest route.

When I last visited Croatia, this is how we got from Dubrovnik to Split. The bus is pretty efficient, but I personally think it takes a bit too long if you’re only visiting Dubrovnik on a day trip.

There are even ferries, making a boat trip from Split to Dubrovnik very doable. However, it does take some time, racking up at 4 hours 15 minutes, costing 210 HRK. It runs only between May and October.

Best things to do on a Split to Dubrovnik day trip

It’s good to have your Dubrovnik bucket list figured out before heading out on your Dubrovnik day tour from Split.

Whether you join an organised tour or discover Dubrovnik independently, it always helps to get a bit of background before you go, so here’s a run-down of some of the best things to do in Dubrovnik to get you started.

Walk on the Old Town walls

Part of what makes exploring the Old Town of Dubrovnik so great are its massive city walls. These ancient walls were built in the 13th century to protect the city from invaders, and were fortified even more in the 15th century.

This time around, towers were added for extra defensive goodness.

They still stand to this day and can be explored on foot. They’re pretty impressive, especially when you take into consideration the fact that they have never been successfully overcome by an invading force.

The old city walls form a perfect ring around the Old Town, and walking the whole loop can take up to 2-3 hours. From here you get stunning views over the rooftops of Dubrovnik.

They’re open for you to discover every day from 9AM to 3PM, and access costs 150 Croatian Kuna (HRK).

Explore the Old Town

Within the old walls is the Old Town itself, the most historic part of the city that makes up the core of Dubrovnik. It’s here that you’ll find the main attractions of the city, including the Rector’s Palace.

There’s also Sponza Palace, an attractive building built in the 16th century, and the Church of Saint Blaise, which is located in the main square in Dubrovnik’s Old Town.

Right in front of the church is Orlando’s Column; this is a tribute to the city’s hero, Orlando, and dates back to 1618. These and many more sights make wandering the narrow streets of the Old Town super charming.

Walking through the medieval streets of the Old Town will feel like stepping back in time. You could spend hours wandering around the charming streets, admiring the unique architecture.

Go on a kayak sunset tour

Walking on the Old Town walls and discovering the town will take up pretty much all morning, leaving you with a free afternoon to try your hand at some cool water sports.

A kayak tour allows you to see a different side of the city. You’ll be heading out on a tour of Dubrovnik’s waterfront by kayak, one of the most popular tours in Dubrovnik !

A guided tour will take you around the coast, showing you the coves and caves that you would never see otherwise.

There’s also the option to stop off for a swim at the beautiful Betina Cave.

And if you really want to make the most of this, then I would recommend heading out at sunset, when you can watch the city begin to glow in the light of the setting sun – it’s pretty incredible!

Take the cable car to the viewpoint

Make your way out of Dubrovnik and go for a cable car ride up to Srd Hill. The hilltop has been connected to the city below by cable car since 1969.

This is an awesome way to get pretty much a bird’s eye view of the city from above – you can see why those old city walls were never broken through by invaders!

On a clear day you can see up to 30 miles (60 kilometres) away. And as you might expect, sunset from this spot is even more spectacular, so I’d definitely suggest heading here in the late afternoon/early evening.

Up here you will also find a restaurant, which has amazing views. Tickets for the cable car cost 150 HRK for a round-trip, 85 HRK for a single.

Join a Game of Thrones filming locations tour

Game of Thrones fans cannot miss out on the chance to see some of the most iconic filming locations from the sensational HBO series.

There are various locations dotted around Dubrovnik that provided the setting for King’s Landing, the fictional capital city from the series. The best way to see these sites is by joining a specific Game of Thrones tour .

Most tours will lead you to prime locations like Fort Lovrijenac, which is where scenes for the Red Keep were filmed; the Jesuit Staircase, which is where that infamous “walk of shame” happened; and you’ll recognise Lokrum Island as being the setting for the City of Qarth.

It’s also on Lokrum Island that you’ll find the Iron Throne.

There are various tours you could opt for, depending on how much time you have. This two-hour tour , for example, covers a lot of the highlights, but there are also more in-depth ones out there.

Explore the Rector’s Palace

This 13th-century edifice was once home to the Rector – the senior official of the Republic of Ragusa, of which Dubrovnik was a part – as well as government offices.

Though it definitely looks the part from outside, it’s also possible to head inside to take a glimpse at its medieval interiors – and to learn more at the Cultural History Museum located within.

The museum boasts 20,000 historical objects, spanning from the 14th to the 20th century, and is a fascinating place to explore. It’s open from 9AM to 7PM and costs 100 HRK to enter.

Is a Split to Dubrovnik day trip worth it?

Yes and no. While it’s totally worth visiting Dubrovnik, I don’t know if it’s worth doing a day trip from Split to Dubrovnik.

The journey time between the cities is quite long, and it won’t give you enough time to discover Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik is a stunning city, with lots of beautiful corners just waiting to be discovered.

Obviously, if you can spend a night in the city of Dubrovnik (or multiple nights), you’ll have plenty of time to see more – and do more exciting things.

You can add to your Dubrovnik itinerary things like checking out the Elaphite Islands, getting more time to hang out at the beach, soaking up a few more sunsets.

That said, if your Croatia itinerary is tight and you can’t stay in Dubrovnik, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t go there for only one day as day trip.

One day is enough to see the Old Town, check out the old city walls, see a few Game of Thrones location sites, and even pop into a few of the attractions like the Rector’s Palace and the Franciscan Church.

The tip here is definitely to get up early in the morning to make the most of your Split to Dubrovnik day tour!

What to pack for your Dubrovnik day trip from Split

You don’t really need anything special beyond your usual travel essentials and normal outfits. However, I’ve listed below a few items that will make your Split to Dubrovnik day trip smoother.

Power bank – you don’t want your phone to run out of battery while you’re busy capturing the picturesque streets of Dubrovnik!

Stainless steel water bottle – save money and reduce plastic consumption by bringing your own water bottle and refilling it. It’s a win-win!

Sunscreen – I visited Croatia in September, and the sun was still really hot! Don’t ruin your trip by getting sunburnt.

International adapter  – Depending on where you’re travelling from you might need an adapter to charge your electronics.

Fast drying towel – Whether it’s for the shower of your hostel dorm, after a a kayak tour or to lie on the beach, you’ll need one of these. I love them because they dry quickly and don’t take up much space.

Dubrovnik is a stunning city, which should feature on everyone’s Europe bucket list . With its stunning Old Town and breathtaking nature, it’s no surprise that it’s one of the most popular Mediterranean cruise destinations .

Personally, I find Dubrovnik prettier than Split, but there are more things to do around Split, such as day trips to Krka , Hvar Island & Hvar Town and Omis and Plitvice Lakes.

If you have the time, I suggest spending at least a night in Dubrovnik. If your Croatia itinerary is too tight, worry not, as you’ll still have an awesome time if you follow this guide.

We highly suggest traveling in spring (the end of March till end of June) or fall (September till the end of November) for serious biking (daily distance of 50km or more). If biking is not the only reason for choosing this tour, the swimming season usually starts later in May and can last until the middle of October. Even in the high season months of July and August, you will be able to find your own little private beach on the islands you will be visiting and quiet roads for cycling.

Split to Dubrovnik

 Tour Description   Daily Program

Daily program

Day 1: Split (optional 12 miles/20 km, up to 50 miles/80 km) Welcome to Split! Depending on your arrival time, there'll be a bike fitting, tour briefing, and a suggested easy loop ride along Marjan Hill starting from your hotel in the center of town. In the evening, we urge you to explore the phenomenal 1700 year-old Diocletian Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a peek at the Peristyle, Romanesque houses, and experience a little of everyday life in Split, perhaps browsing an ancient fish market and watching the fishing trade in action beside the ocean.

Overnight in Split.

Day 2: Island of Brac (1 mile/2 km, up to 50 miles/80 km) Today, you'll take a 45-minute ferry to the island of Brac. There are various riding and distance options available today, from an easy 25 km to longer, 80 km loop rides which visit Greek and Roman ruins, fishing villages, wine cellars, and art galleries.

Brac is famous for its stone - the White House in Washington DC and the Diocletian Palace in Split are just some of the sites built from it! Indeed, all the ancient villages and towns on this island are like exhibition of fine stonework! You'll return to Split via the late afternoon ferry.

Day 3: Lavender roads, UNESCO sites and Hvar Town (12 miles/20 km, up to 37 miles/60 km) Welcome to the island of Hvar! For the morning ride, we suggest an easy cycle around the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stari Grad (Old Town), an ancient Greek colony dating back to 400 BC. As well as historical sites, you'll also discover charming towns and roads where you'll find yourself biking beside private gardens and olive groves, as well as along the coast. For the afternoon bike ride, take the famously beautiful and fragrant road along the lavender fields to Hvar town.

Overnight in Hvar town.

Day 4: Korcula Island (29 miles/46 km, up to 35 miles/56 km) After the private boat transfer, start your bike ride on the island of Korkula. The island has been populated since very early times, even before the Greeks, and evidence can be seen of the legacy of civilizations all along your ride. Marco Polo was born on Korkula!

During Korkula's history, the island was chosen by the Venetians as a spot to build their walled city on the northern shores. Owing to this, these days, you can find the magnificent walled Old Town still preserved and almost entirely intact. This is where you'll spend the next two nights.

You'll also enjoy the scenic south side of the island, which boasts amazing views of beautiful hidden beaches and coves. Ride through the small villages and hamlets and stop in at some of the great local konoba (taverns) for a taste of some tantalizing, locally prepared food.

Overnight in Korcula.

Day 5: Korcula beaches and vineyards (1 mile/2 km, up to 35 miles/56 km) Today is your chance to really take in the incredible beauty offered by the island of Korcula; its hidden coves, beautiful old towns, unique little villages, and the dark pine forests that partially cover this atmospheric isle. There are a few loop ride options today, but whichever you choose, you'll make your way past vineyards, olive groves, and along the beautiful coast.

Taste the traditional food of Croatia, including homemade gnocchi, macaroni, pašticada, and other dishes authentically prepared by the locals for centuries. Some of the best Croatian white wines are produced on Korcula, which will add something a little extra-special to your lunch or dinner.

Day 6: Departure After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Dubrovnik, where the tour ends. You may want to extend your stay in Dubrovnik and explore the historical sites along the magnificent walls of the old town, perhaps even taking a cycling day tour there.

Surface and terrain

The Dalmatian Islands are known for their hills. Each day, if you are doing loops longer than 30 km, you will have a climb over approximately 400m.

Of the riding days, the 1st, 2nd and 5th day are loop days and you can choose your daily distance, from 0 to 45 or more kilometers daily. On the other 3 days, you can expect rides from 20-60 km and climbs over 450m.

Daily distances: 0 – 80 km per day Total distance: 130 - 700 km Level of difficulty: moderate - generally rolling or hilly terrain How flat or hilly is this tour: moderately hilly Road surface: paved Tour rating: medium to high

Amazing Croatia

The tour was very well organized. Our operator explained everything perfectly, and we felt very safe, even doing our first bike tour and going by ourselves. The climate, views, and places we visited were terrific. Everything was perfect but the hotels. Some were very old and had tiny rooms, challenging to rest and relax after a day-long journey. But in the end, the balance was super positive

Incredible trip, but expensive

Croatia is without an ounce of doubt one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Biking the islands exceeded every expectation - pristine blue waters, olive and grape vineyards + tasting, beautiful stone villages. It was all wonderful. Our hotels in Hvar and Korcula were also outstanding.

That said, I do not know why this tour is so much more expensive than every other tour offered on this site. Two of our three hotels were excellent, and they do provide boat transfers; however, our hotel in Split (the first two nights) was very mediocre, and most boat transfers are cheap ferry rides. Also, this trip is 6 days long. On Day 1, there is a short option to cycle on Split (12km). On Day 5, there is again a short option to cycle on Korcula island. On Day 6, there is no cycling and they do not include accommodations in Dubrovnik (so, it seems odd that this day is included in the price calculation). I have done other cycling tours that include significantly more cycling/lodging for a fraction of the cost. I am not someone who needs to bike 60+ km a day, but I do think the value of this tour did not match the cost. It would be increased if they included one more cycling day (either on Mljet island or near Dubrovnik on the mainland) and lodging on the last day.

Trip of a lifetime

Two weeks of heaven. !! Was the perfect way to experience the coastline of Croatia and experience Split and Dubrovnik. Plenty of history combined with cycling, cruising and culinary delight. Wine, olives, chocolate, pottery and lavender for the local flare . Quaint towns, beautiful sunrise and sunsets from the boat. Our guides where amazing getting us to the best spots and being extremely knowledgeable and kept us safe !! Our guides we’re able to shift gears when needed and in the heat of July we’re able to accommodate a comfortable swim in a quiet cove everyday. The beautiful coves and swims turned out to be some of our most memorable moments.

Can't Wait for the 25th Anniversary Trip

The trip was fantastic in every detail.

Never would we have ever dreamed !

This tour is the best way to see all the Croatia has to offer, mountains to the coastline and everything in between! Get up close and personal with the Croatian history that dates back to 300 BC. We were on San Snova the boat was very comfortable and space for everyone to spread out. The crew made it even more special ! Tending to our every want and need ! Everyone should have an Andro in their life at least once! There was always plenty of tasty food you won't lose any weight on this active vacation. Our guides (Ivan and Helena) were very knowledgable. They always got us safely to the best spots. They were very proud of their home country and happy to share all of it with us. The visit to the bee keeper, lunch on the local farm, city tours, winery and white water rafting trips were among our favorites besides the cycling of course. The cycling is challenging you start at sea level and go up from there to a beautiful view point. The e-bike was a lifesaver and allowed for an enjoyable cycling experience. Never would we have ever dreamed we would have a trip like this one !

Great taste of the country!

Well thought out itinerary to see the larger cities and explore the islands as well. Great GPS routes. We came, we saw, we ate, we drank, we cycled! Plenty of sun! Quality bikes, friendly tour operators. Would highly recommend.

Croatia At Its Best

Extremely well organized; guides were knowledgeable and clearly loved Croatia. Bikes were comfortable and the day trips offered stunning vistas. The lunch at the organic farm was like something featured in Bon Appetit. White water rafting was an added bonus. The boat crew were courteous and professional; room was small but comfortable. Nothing but positive memories.

We have done about 10 bike tours in Europe, so we have seen and experienced a wide range of things. This tour was wonderful. The tour company was extremely organized, the tour was well-designed, the hotels were great. In addition to the maps and instructions, the tour company made many valuable recommendations for things to see, restaurants, etc. There are several serious but not terrible climbs (~400 m elevation) on the tour, which people should be aware of. They yield amazing views.

Great rides, great bikes, great support, perfect weather and wonderful food and wine. Hotels were beautifully situated, clean and comfortable

Croatia cycling

Excellent support. The scenery is as remarkable as on the adverts of Croatia tourism - stunning! The cycling is extremely challenging, particularly in very warm weather.

4 star hotels were great. Do not see the need to go with 5 star. Luggage transfer was a concern but went off without a flaw. Luggage showed up right on time.

A great way to see Croatia

Meridian Ten is the local company that built and ran the tour. Our hotels were first class and all the bag transfers and water taxis were flawless. The bikes weren’t new but were well maintained and worked without any problems. Tom met us at our start point and gave us a briefing and a book describing all the suggested routes and options, There are also recommendations for dining and other activities in the book that came in handy.

BikeTours.com staff reply from Jim Johnson, Founder and president September 30, 2017

Thank you for your feedback and photo. Looking at the photo, I think I was there two days ago, just south of Orebic near Korcula! What a beautiful region!

I'm glad you had a great time and that Meridien Ten provided you the great service we've come to expect from them.

Fantastic hotels, service, information. Amazing scenery and routes on well maintained comfy bikes. Truely a trip in a million

Gorgeous Country; Warm, Welcoming People; Challenging Climbs

Right choice for our family of 6. Cycling on islands was scenic and safe. Routes through small villages, wineries, along crystal blue Adriatic coasts. Thorough orientation by MeridienTen staff including additional & alternate route choices. Good bikes and good decision to bring our shoes & pedals for the climbs. Dependable transportation among islands. Excellent lodging & breakfasts especially in Dubrovnik, Korcula, Split. Furnished materials included informative Croatian history & culture. Perfect weather. Thanks to MeridienTen staff.

Great ride with great food and even better scenery

I am just back from my trip to Europe which included an altered bike tour from Dubrovnik to Split. I had shortened the trip to 4 days so to fit my other plans in Italy. What a mistake! Mistake 1. Make sure you have time to tour and visit Dubrovnik. We arrived in the late afternoon and had no time to visit the old city. It looked gorgeous as we passed it in a bus from the airport. Our hotel was very nice but a way from the old city. Mistake 2. Make plans to see the walls in Ston. They are stunning. Mistake 3. I dropped the extra day in Hvar. Lots to do in this fun packed town especially if you like the night life. Only spent about three hours in Split and it was very hectic compared to the other towns. Overall, what a ride! There are a number of climbs each day so the rating of 3 out of 5 should be closer to 4 out of 5. The route has limited traffic so safety is not a concern. The pre-ride prep on site was excellent. The bikes were in good order.

Canada meets Croatia!

Croatia is a beautiful, welcoming country with so much to offer travelers from all over. The people, sights, cuisine and water (both drinking and swimming) of Croatia will not disappoint. BikeTours helped us have a see the country we wanted easily! If you are a 'recreational' rider I would highly recommend their e-bikes. There are some serious climbs and we were thankful for them daily! If you're a veteran, serious rider you're going to get the workout you're looking for. The hotels were all awesome, we felt spoiled and appreciated at each stop and our luggage was always there well ahead of our arrival. It was easy, fun and all in all a trip to remember! Put this part of the world at the top of your must see places!

Best Possible organization!

Aside from the beautiful scenery of Croatia, Tomislav and the folks at Meridien Ten travel provided really outstanding material for our self-guided tours. The route sheets were easy to follow and much clearer than I have seen on other tours, and all the arrangements were faultless. Also, our group had some complications during the first day, and Tomislav went out of his way to help us out. This involved some extra driving on his part and when I attempted to at least pay for the gasoline, and he refused. Really fabulous folks - I definitely recommend traveling with them in Croatia. The only thing I would change was the selection of the hotel Lacroma in Dubrovnik - for me this hotel was too large and crowded. The front desk was overwhelmed with tour groups and could not keep things straight.

Amazing Trip With Lots of Hills

Our Croatian adventure exceeded all expectations! The routes were very scenic, the locals were so friendly, and the food was delicious and totally fresh! We've done several bike trips in Europe, and this was definitely one of our favorites.

We paid a little more for the hotels and were very pleased with the accommodations. The breakfasts were very generous, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Hotel staff was great at all locations, too. There were two nights at each hotel, which was nice, since we weren't constantly packing and unpacking.

Our booking experience was great. There were 8 in our party, with all different itineraries, and everyone signed up at different times, which created hotel booking challenges. Brittany was so patient and answered all of our emails promptly. Most of us needed to add nights onto the basic package, and Brittany took care of that for us, too.

I can't say enough good things about the local tour company. We were self-guided, but when we ran into a little trouble on our first day (someone in our group fell off the bike), the local company was incredibly responsive and there when we needed them. There was constant communication throughout the trip, and they made sure everything went smoothly. Our luggage was transferred without incident and was always waiting for us in our room at the end of our travel days.

The directions on the route sheets were easy to follow, and with odometers on all the bikes, we never really got lost (which is a first for us). Having a choice of rides on most days, and the details on restaurants and points of interest in each of the towns we passed through made the rides even more enjoyable. The bikes were comfortable and everything we needed was supplied: tire repair kits, spare tubes, pumps, locks, etc. The collapsible panniers were awesome and transported wine very nicely!

The only negative thing I could say about the trip is that we were on main roads more than I would have liked. On previous trips to Italy and France, there were more back road options. But there wasn't a whole lot of traffic, and the cars generally gave us a comfortable amount of space when passing. The ride was definitely hillier and more difficult than we expected from a difficulty rating of 3, but the uphills weren't too steep and they were definitely worth it for the views!

Frequently asked questions

Do i need a covid-19 vaccine to join an intrepid trip.

Trips from 1 January 2023 onwards

From 1 January 2023, Intrepid will no longer require travellers to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (excluding all Polar trips and select adventure cruises).

However, we continue to strongly recommend that all Intrepid travellers and leaders get vaccinated to protect themselves and others.

Specific proof of testing or vaccination may still be required by your destination or airline. Please ensure you check travel and entry requirements carefully.

Do you need a visa to visit Croatia?

Visas are the responsibility of the individual traveller. Entry requirements can change at any time, so it's important that you check for the latest information. Please visit the relevant consular website of the country or countries you’re visiting for detailed and up-to-date visa information specific to your nationality. Check the Essential Trip Information section of the itinerary for more information.

What is the weather like in Croatia?

Croatia's climate is split into two different regions - along the coast and in the mainland.

Depending on which region you're travelling to, the weather may vary slightly with temperatures higher in the mainland area due to a lack of sea breeze.

Winter temperatures are also lower in the mainland with snowfall expected and enjoyed, whereas on the coast, snowfall is quite uncommon.

How can I get from Split to Dubrovnik?

What should i pack for croatia.

What you pack for Croatia largely depends on the time of year you're travelling in but since it is a popular summer destination, you should pack a swimsuit, sandals, appropriate sun protection, and clothes that will remain comfortable even if the temperature is warm - think light, breathable layers. Most islands along the coast of Croatia are quite casual so you can leave your fancy clothes at home if you want.

Do I need to purchase travel insurance before travelling?

Absolutely. All passengers travelling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their trip. Your travel insurance details will be recorded by your leader on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is very much an essential and necessary part of every journey.

Intrepid is committed to making travel widely accessible, regardless of ability or disability. That’s why we do our best to help as many people see the world as possible, regardless of any physical or mental limitations they might have. We’re always happy to talk to travellers with disabilities and see if we can help guide them towards the most suitable itinerary for their needs and, where possible, make reasonable adjustments to our itineraries.
