Everything you need to know about FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters 2023

Thursday, October 5, 2023

AMSTERDAM (Netherlands) - You just know the 100th World Tour event is going to be special and we're celebrating this milestone in style at the first-ever  FIBA 3x3 Amsterdam Masters on October 6-7.

Here is all the important information you need before the 11th Masters of 2023.

Where can I watch the Amsterdam Masters?

The action runs from October 6-7, and you can follow it live on the FIBA 3x3 YouTube, and Sina Weibo pages.

Who is competing in Amsterdam?

This loaded draw has a total of 14 squads: Ub Huishan NE , Antwerp TOPdesk , Amsterdam HiPRO , Vienna, Miami, Liman Huishan NE , Beijing, Partizan, Paris, Princeton, Marijampole Mantinga , Utrecht, Dusseldorf LFDY , Pitești Getica 95

What are the pools?

Who are the favorites?

Since we're in the famous Dutch capital, we just have to start with hometown heroes Amsterdam HiPRO (NED), who are desperate to end a Masters drought now hitting two-and-a-half years.

The Dutch Masters will be hoping their passionate fans can give them a lift because they face an early test against another team hungry for a dub - Liman Huishan NE (SRB), who remain a contender duo to legendary duo Stefan Kojic and Mihailo Vasic.

We've buried the lead because top seeds Ub Huishan NE (SRB) always enter No.1 but it's been the toughest stretch of the season for these spectacular Serbs.

Ub have been thrown into the 'Group of Death' against Partizan (SRB) and Paris (FRA) - teams who are much more than dark horses.

Antwerp TOPdesk (BEL) have already tasted Masters glory, but they don't just want to be one-hit wonders.

They'll need Dennis Donkor to be an absolute competitive beast to fire them up because Beijing (CHN) loom large in an early blockbuster.

We have only just caught our breath from the absolutely insane final at the Cebu Masters between Miami (USA) and Vienna, who have a rematch on Day One.

You just know the sequel will be as good as the original.

Who are the players to watch?

The biggest party in Amsterdam during these two days will be at the Gashouder, where the loudest cheers will be reserved for one man - Worthy de Jong.

The Amsterdam high-flyer dazzles every time he takes the half-court and he is ready for take off at his home event.

He's not the only one capable of playing above the rim. Flight KLM is ready to land with Karlis Lasmanis set to put his cape on and play the lead superhero for Beijing.

Paris' main man Franck Seguela better have his magic tricks ready because he will have his hands full on Day One against Partizan's Sizzling Stefans - Milivojevic and Torbica.

And they will all need to bring their A-Game against top dog Strahinja Stojacic, who makes everything look easy on the half-court even those sick reverse jams he does almost every game.

Speaking of walking buckets and we just have to mention Americans Quincy Diggs and Henry Caruso.

But the ultimate sniper might just be former NBA veteran and collegiate legend Jimmer Fredette, whose jumper is tastier than Heineken and he enters as the reigning Masters MVP.

FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final Jeddah 2023: Serbia's Ub Huishan wins back-to-back titles

Ub Huishan overcame a late-season winless slump to reign supreme in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where they went unbeaten en route to their 21-15 victory over Amsterdam on Saturday (9 December).

Serbian outfit Ub Huishan affirmed their status as the top side in the world beating Amsterdam 21-15 to claim back-to-back FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final titles in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday (9 December).

Ub bowed out of the two-day season finale winning all five of their games in the Saudi tournament including a hard-fought battle against Antwerp in the semi-final.

Top-ranked, European and world champion Strahinja Stojacic along with Nenad Nerandzic played leading roles in their team’s triumph contributing six points apiece.

The Serbians made a statement of intent racing to a four-point lead before they opened more daylight going 11-4 up against the Dutch side. Amsterdam threw everything at Ub but the Serbians maintained their advantage thanks to a high scoring percentage.

Once Ub found their groove they would not allow Amsterdam a foot in the door with the Dutch never getting closer than five points until late in the game. Arvin Slagter landed a late two-point shot to get within four points (19-15) before Dejan Majstorovic responded with the decisive blow to hand his team the victory.

In what proved to be a good omen for the Serbian team, the talismanic Stojacic earned the MVP award for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2023 regular season on the eve of the final for the second consecutive time. Stojacic, or ‘Dr Strange’ as he is affectionately known, was worth his weight in gold in his team’s victory as Ub consolidated their position as the top side on the World Tour.

Ub laid the groundwork starting the season with a spectacular six-straight Masters title wins before they lost some steam as their campaign progressed.

Everything you need to know about FIBA 3x3 World Tour Chengdu Masters 2023

CHENGDU (China) - After a four-year wait, the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Chengdu Masters returns on October 21-22.

Here is all the important information you need before the 13th Masters of 2023.

Where can I watch the Chengdu Masters?

The action runs from October 21-22, and you can follow it live on the FIBA 3x3 YouTube, and Sina Weibo pages.

Who is competing in Chengdu?

This loaded draw has a total of 14 squads: Ub Huishan NE , Vienna, Liman Huishan NE , Beijing, Raudondvaris Hoptrans , Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy , San Juan, Lausanne Sport LS , Sansar MMC Energy , Omaha, Utrecht, Saitama ALPHAS EXE , Al Shamal, Cijin Jong Shyn

What are the pools?

View this post on Instagram A post shared by FIBA3x3 (@fiba3x3)

Who are the favorites?

Let's start with the reigning champs on the World Tour - Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL), who created history by becoming the first team from 3x3-crazy Mongolia to win on the big stage.

Their momentum might be unstoppable but they'll need to stop Liman Huishan NE (SRB), who will be out for revenge after losing a classic final. If Ning Zhang can get the Chinese crowd on their feet then Liman will again be in title contention.

We've buried the lead because Ub Huishan NE (SRB) are always the favorites but they've gone some time since winning on the World Tour after their run for the ages earlier in the season.

Vienna (AUT) and Raudondvaris Hoptrans (LTU) have already tasted Masters glory this season, but will be extra determined to prove they aren't one hit wonders.

Beijing (CHN) might not have Karlis Lasmanis but they shouldn't worry because superhero Nauris Miezis is ready to dust off his cape.

San Juan (PUR) have their own sniper in Antonio Ralat and any talk about cold blooded assassins has to warrant mentioning Anand Ariunbold, whose hot hand could lead to Sanar MMC Energy giving Mongolia more success.

While Lausanne Sport LS (SUI), Omaha (USA), Utrecht (NED) and Saitama ALPHAS EXE (JPN) can absolutely be dark horse contenders.

Who are the players to watch?

We'll start with the hottest player on the World Tour right now and that man is Steve Sir. Yessiirrr this Canadian legend is on a heater and if he continues to have the shooter's touch then he might just win a second straight MVP.

But the crown still has to go through Strahinja Stojacic, who is No.1 for a reason and has a trio of MVPs already this season.

Quincy Diggs and Aurelijus Pukelis are also MVP winners this season and it's easy to see why because they can flat out score from anywhere on the half-court.

Speaking of scoring machines and we just now have to include James Parrott, who might just bring a cyclone to Chengdu as he quickly becomes Omaha's main man.

If you're scouting the next big thing then keep your eyes on Nesta Agasi, who is something of a 3x3 unicorn.

And if you want some filthy tricks then it's a safe bet to monitor Gilles Martin and Tomoya Ochiai, who are two of the OGs of the half-court.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
