L'histoire du Château Belmont

Le Château Belmont , établissement chargé d'histoire, vous accueille dans une bâtisse du 17ème siècle, entouré d'un parc de 2,5 hectares. Autrefois planté de vignes réputées grâce à son exposition plein sud, le château devint un hôpital pendant la guerre de 1870.

Après la guerre, la Baronne Tellier de Blanrier acquit la propriété en 1880 et fit peindre des peintures au plafond du salon. En 1885, les vignes laissent place à des pommiers qui donnèrent du cidre pendant plus de soixante ans.

Passionnés par les fleurs, les propriétaires suivants décidèrent d'y faire un lieu de recherches sur les tulipes.

En 1987, Jean et Sophie Bardet ouvrirent un restaurant. Jean Bardet, un chef renommé, proposait une cuisine créative, gourmande et raffinée.

Le groupe AEGIDE-Domitys inaugura son premier hôtel, en 2008, donnant ainsi vie au Château Belmont.

Great hotel in Tours”

I change my schedule in France at last minutes because of the riots in Paris. Just book this chateau Belmont 4 hours before check-in. Very impress with peaceful landscape with warm treat from hotel staff. Room at the chateau is big and clean. Above all, the value of money is the best. Highly recommend for travelers !!

Great hotel. Staff were very friendly, room clean and modern with cooking facilities (2 ring induction hob) and the grounds beautiful. There is an indoor swimming pool and sauna although on the Saturday we were there was very busy with children. About 20 minutes into the centre of Tours but a very pleasant walk although uphill on the way back - not a problem for us but something to be aware of. Definitely would go back.

The staff (particularly Marie-Andrée) makes this a wonderful restful place. The modern setting of part of the hotel is surprising at first in the traditional city of Tours but turns out to be most pleasant. Food at dinner was outstanding.

Unremarkable”

This hotel was rather unremarkable. We had stayed in Paris at a similarly rated hotel (but not as expensive) so I expected a nicer room (the Clarion Hotel room was small, and nondescript, no personality. The restaurant was poorly staffed, the waiters were all noticeably frantic yet inattentive to patrons; they seemed flustered. And we had to beg for our check at the end of the meal.

Top hotel. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions we were unable to enjoy any of the facilities that seem to be a highlight on the site.

The area was not well lighted, but the chateau is very safe behind the large iron gates. I didn’t feel comfortable walking to restaurants and bars so we did room service. Unfortunately, I fell going into the bathroom since there’s a big step down and since I had a glass with me, it broke when I fell and my right hand was bleeding profusely. I fractured my right arm, my husband had to clean up the room since the concierge didn’t have any help. He offered but we were afraid he wouldn’t do a good job since he couldn’t find a duster in the hotel. We complained the next morning while checking out, but iré only got a “sorry about that!” I think the little tiny sign they have in the door that goes to the bathroom warning about the step should be much larger. In any case, it cut our vacation short since we had to do a quick return home. Nice hotel and room otherwise.

Convenient - short walk, tram or taxi to city center. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food at a reasonable price. Spa and massage were excellent.

This was a wonderful hotel with a lovely patio facing a beautiful garden. Fabulous large bathroom with double sink, separate shower, tub and toilet closet. A little hard to find and not close to major attractions. However, one may be able to walk a few blocks and take public transportation. We chose taxi. It was well worth the added expense to stay at this lovely Chateau.

Belmont University is open for campus visits weekdays and select Saturdays where you'll meet current students and see our beautiful campus in the heart of Nashville. Whether you are beginning your college search or wish for a more inclusive visit, Admissions has three visit opportunities designed to exceed your expectations, leaving you with the desire to  become a Bruin .

Group Visit Information add

We welcome groups and organizations (between 15-75 persons) to join a weekday walking tour and optional admissions information session.

Belmont's Office of Admissions offers a walking tour of campus at 11 a.m. These last from 30-45 minutes, and are an outside tour of campus. If you select an Admissions Information Session, it will be scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Admissions Information Sessions are only available for groups visiting with students who are in high school. Groups with students in the 8th grade and under are invited to join us for a walking tour of campus.

Please note that all Group Visits:

• Are not offered on weekends
• Are not offered on University Holidays
• Must be requested with 3 weeks notice
• If you are an agency booking on behalf of an organization, day-of contact information is required to book the visit
• Must have one chaperone per 20 students
• Must have a minimum of 15 students attending (We recommend not exceeding 75 students in order to provide the best experience for your students.)
• Must be canceled within 48 hours of visit date

If you are arriving via the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, you will be picked up from there. Wait for your driver to pick you up so you can make your way to Belmont Hotel Mactan. Here, you will stay in a Superior Deluxe Room for two nights.

After checking in, you are free to spend the day however you want. You may explore the nearby attractions or just rest and relax at the hotel while taking advantage of its facilities and amenities.

Now that everybody else's gift is wrapped, how about something for you?

Once the holidays are over, promise yourself a winter getaway. Sure, times have been tough, but you deserve a break from all that cold, nose-sniffling weather ahead.

Need more persuasion? As our gift to you, our readers, we've researched and wrapped up a list of 15 enticing winter escapes -- to Europe, the West Coast, New England, Florida, South America and the Caribbean. All were chosen with the idea of keeping costs down, whether you travel solo, as a couple, or with family or friends.

One of the cardinal rules of inexpensive travel is to avoid destinations that are in season, when prices tend to be higher, and at this time of the year that means the beaches of Florida and the Caribbean and the ski slopes of New England, the Rockies and the West Coast. Forget the rule; we know ways to get around it.

Our list is merely a sample of many getaway possibilities, but it will get you to the cold if you revel in winter or to balmy spots if you dream of fleeing it. Some of the ideas are do-it-yourself trips; others are escorted tours.

One caveat: These aren't always the absolute cheapest way to go -- if, say, you are a penny-wise backpacker who frequents youth hostels. But they do offer good value for your money, and comfortable lodgings.

Ski Northeast

You can go skiing in New England without busting the budget -- if you avoid weekends, when lodging rates and lift ticket prices are higher. And without weekend crowds, you actually get more skiing for less money.

Ski New England, a marketing organization representing eight ski areas in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, has put together a series of five-day weekday lift and lodging packages. Skiers arrive Sunday and ski Monday through Friday. At Vermont's Stratton Mountain, the rate for five days in "economy" lodging with lift tickets is $258 per person (double occupancy). With air fare from Washington to Albany, N.Y., and a rental car for the 90-minute drive, the price is $503 per person. Similar rates are available at Killington, Okemo Mountain, Mount Snow and Smugglers' Notch in Vermont; Waterville Valley in New Hampshire; and Sunday River and Sugarloaf/USA in Maine.

Vegas Fling

Las Vegas hotels are moderately priced and meals are cheap, so you can enjoy a reasonably priced week's fling in the city and environs -- if you don't spend all your time in the casinos.

California's beautiful Death Valley National Monument -- whose summer heat makes winter the best time to visit -- is just a three-hour drive to the north, and Arizona's awesome Grand Canyon National Park is about a five-hour drive to the east. Both offer good, inexpensive lodging and superb hiking in spectacular scenery. You might encounter a brief snow flurry at the Grand Canyon, but a dusting of flakes actually enhances its beauty -- and there are no crowds to jostle you.

At the top-rated Caesar's Palace on the Las Vegas "Strip," a deluxe room for two begins at $110 a night, but in nearby hotels and motels rates begin as low as $35 a night.

Florida's Riviera

The swaths of sand in southern Florida -- from West Palm Beach to Fort Lauderdale, Miami and beyond -- are in the throes of high season. But on the Florida Panhandle near Pensacola, the quaint village of Seaside sits sedately beside a magnificent expanse of white sand on the Gulf of Mexico.

A nostalgic re-creation of a turn-of-the-century village, Seaside has more than 150 distinctive cottages, which form an architectural fantasyland around a town center -- complete with grocery store, restaurants, a bookstore and an art gallery featuring works of Southern artists. In midwinter, the weather is temperate but a bit too chilly for swimming. Instead, hike the beach or stroll Seaside's intriguing lanes.

Cottage rentals begin at $131 a night. Typical of the cottages is Jack's Bean Stalk, a slender, two-story cottage with one bedroom, a sitting room, a kitchen and a sea-view lookout.

Iberian Meander

Yes, the currency exchange rates make Europe expensive, but there are exceptions -- among them the romantic old Spanish cities of Toledo, Cordoba and Seville (now that Expo '92 is over) and the Portuguese capital of Lisbon.

With the help of a good guidebook or a travel agent, you should be able to put together a drive through southern Spain and Portugal, with stops at charming small hotels charging about $60 a night for a room for two. In this category, two great finds are the Hotel Gonzalez in Cordoba and the Hotel Simon in Seville. And, just as important, in this part of the continent, winter is gentle.

Caribbean Bask

The secret of finding a moderately priced Caribbean getaway during the winter high season is to avoid the big, beach-front resorts with expensive facilities that boost room prices and instead look for modest inns a short walk from the beach.

On the lovely island of St. Lucia, the nicely landscaped 44-room Islander Hotel, which rings a handsome pool, could be mistaken for a Best Western motel. But it sits just two blocks back from Reduit Beach, one of St. Lucia's finest, and a room for two is $100 a night during the winter. (In comparison, the 220-room St. Lucian Hotel, a beach-front resort a three-minute walk from the Islander, charges $211 a night, and it looks like a Best Western too.)

Southern Greens

As a region, the Deep South tends to take a smaller bite out of a traveler's budget than almost any other part of the country. And at this time of year, the milder weather makes golf an inviting getaway.

Fairways & Greens, a Mississippi travel firm, puts together custom, self-drive golfing itineraries in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. A sample circle tour departing New Orleans for play on a series of five public and private courses in Mississippi is priced at $896 per person (double), including seven nights' lodgings, breakfast, one lunch and one dinner, a rental car and five rounds of golf with a guaranteed tee time and a golf cart.

Catskills Romp

In earlier decades, the resorts of New York's Catskills spawned dozens of America's top comedians, including Sid Caesar and Mel Brooks. Among the old-time resorts, the sprawling 450-room Kutsher's Country Club is still very much in business. Like a huge cruise ship anchored in snow-covered woods, it serves up three hearty meals a day, a variety of athletic facilities, a daily roster of games and other indoor activities and a show every night starring today's singers and comedians -- all at a very reasonable price.

On the extensive grounds are a modest downhill ski mountain, an indoor ice-skating rink, an indoor swimming pool and indoor tennis and racquetball courts. Children are welcome guests. A room for two for a week begins at $399 per person, including seven nights' lodging, all meals, most recreational facilities and the nightly show. Daily and midweek packages also are available.

Russia, Cityside

To explore frosty St. Petersburg and Moscow, you'll need to bundle up. But you will see them as the locals do, without the swarms of tourists that flood the museums and monuments from spring through fall. Prices for escorted tours also are lower this time of year.

As the Russian Travel Bureau, a U.S. tour firm, points out, Russia is not a typical vacation destination. So far, night life is limited mostly to concerts, dance and theater, but casinos, nightclubs and discos are slowly making their appearance.

A one-week escorted tour to Moscow and St. Petersburg begins at $899 per person, including air fare from New York; lodging in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Helsinki; overnight train from St. Petersburg to Moscow; city tours and two meals daily. At this price, departures are Jan. 12, 19 and 26.

Fiesta in Old Mexico

In much of Mexico, winter is the "in" season to visit, but modest prices year-round make the country a bargain hunter's delight. To keep costs low, skip Mexico's beach resorts and explore some of the beautiful old Spanish colonial cities.

Guadalajara, the second-largest city in Mexico, is also one of the country's most charming. A center for fine ceramics and pottery, Guadalajara also is known as the birthplace of mariachi music, and lively bands play in parks and squares throughout the city. In the heart of the historic district, the delightful Hotel De Mendoza charges $70 a night for two. A full meal with Mexican beer is about $30 for two.

Escape to Bermuda

No, Bermuda is not in the Caribbean -- and in fact, the island can be cool this time of year, although winter visitors often chance a dip in the ocean. Right now, the island's big attractions are tennis, golf and somewhat lower lodging rates.

Until March 31, an all-inclusive package at the 114-acre Belmont Hotel, Golf & Country Club is $370 a night for two. This sounds expensive, but included are all meals, unlimited drinks, afternoon tea, free tennis and complimentary greens fees on the Belmont's 18-hole golf course. In the spring, the price jumps to $445 a night.

And the island offers any number of guest houses and cottage communities where rooms run considerably less.

Touring Turkey

A culturally and historically fascinating country, Turkey also remains agreeably inexpensive.

Cosmos Tourama, a large tour operator specializing in budget trips, has put together a 14-day motorcoach trip through Turkey called "Leisurely Tour of Turkey," that takes in Istanbul, the Aegean Coast, Izmir, Cappadocia, Ankara and the Marmara Sea. Departures are weekly from New York, beginning March 6 as the weather in the interior warms. The four trips in March are priced at $1,706 per person (double), including air fare from New York, tourist class hotels with private bath, continental breakfast daily and nine dinners.

California Coasting

The rugged coastal scenery of California is spectacular, the weather is mild (and often sunnier than in summer) and lodging and meals are surprisingly inexpensive outside Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Take California Route 1 north from San Diego to San Francisco, and for much of the way you will be following in the footsteps of the 18th-century Spanish padres who founded a chain of 21 missions. Probably the most famous is Mission San Juan Capistrano, where the swallows return faithfully each spring, but many of the others are well worth a visit.

Along the way, pause in Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Carmel and Santa Cruz -- among the state's most beautiful cities, all of them reflecting California's Spanish-colonial heritage. Good motels at moderate rates are plentiful. The cliff-hanging, 90-mile stretch of the road along the Big Sur coast north of San Simeon is stunning.

Easy Streets, Europe

A ramble of the streets of London and Paris doesn't have to be outrageously expensive. One way to save money is to consider an air/land package -- an especially good idea for first-timers to Europe -- such as the one offered by British Airways. The tour price for a nine-day trip is more than $300 cheaper per person through March 20 than it will be in summer.

Of course, the weather in London and Paris can be damp and chilly at times, but winter is the height of the cultural season in Europe's most popular capitals. And you won't be standing in line with hordes of other Americans at museums and historical attractions.

The British Airways "London/Paris" package checks you into your hotel, provides a sightseeing tour in each city and then lets you ramble the streets on your own. A tour company representative will be on hand at the hotel each day to answer questions. There are departures most Saturdays. The price is $1,485 per person (double), including air fare from Washington, lodging, airport transfers, breakfasts and sightseeing tours.

South -- Way South

In South America, both Chile and Argentina offer sophisticated, European-accented cities and stunning, alpinelike mountain scenery -- and at far less than European prices. In southern Chile, there are numerous mountain and lakeside lodges where the fishing is said to be excellent. An added plus: Our winter is South America's summer.

The drawback to Chile and Argentina, as affordable destinations, is the high cost of airline tickets -- about $950 round trip if you book through a consolidator. But good lodging, meals and comfortable bus and train transportation are very reasonable once you get there. A room for two in a comfortable hotel in Santiago is about $50 a night and less in the countryside.

Cruising for Bargains

For many travelers, a cruise is a budget best because all meals and a wide range of onboard activities are included in one price. In recent years, so many new vessels have been commissioned, the cruise industry is facing a surplus of cabins, which has kept prices low. And although winter in the Caribbean is a popular time to cruise, you should be able to find a cruise price to fit your budget.

To really save money, you can book a less expensive ship, ask for the cheapest cabins and opt for a brief three- or four-day cruise out of Florida -- but don't expect luxury and pampering. Currently, the price is about $460 per person (double) for a three-night cruise, departing Miami for Nassau, in the Bahamas. Air fare to Miami is included.

You will receive a ticket in exchange for your voucher, which you must keep until the expiry date/ tour. Please check your ticket to know when it expires.
