Heralded as the UK’s answer to Blink-182, Busted became one of the most iconic pop-rock bands of the noughties. Their debut self-titled album released in 2002 featured some of their biggest hits “Year 3000”, “You Said No” and their debut single “What I Go To School For”. Going onto win several accolades including Favourite Newcomer at the National Music Awards and a few BRIT awards saw Busted reach new heights as they released their follow-up album “A Present For Everyone” which went triple platinum in the UK. Their successes continued growing with every single released reaching the top 3 in the UK charts accumulating a number of eight- seriously impressive! With their teenage appeal and emulating a rebellious nature, it’s no wonder that they attracted thousands of adoring fans to their live performances. Opening with classics like “Air Hostess” sees the trio of Matt Willis, Charlie Simpson and James Bourne air jumping as they run across the stage, surrounded by a chorus of screams. Their energy is infectious as the crowd jump up and down, waving their arms in the air to “What I Go To School For” singing along word for word. Their tongue-in-cheek lyrics feed into their banter with the crowd, mirrored by some of the banners that audience wave emphatically. “Year 3000” sends the crowd wild, as the bright lights dart across the stage. “Crashed The Wedding” sees energy levels soar through the roof while ballads like “Sleeping With The Light On” slowing down them temple equally sees the biggest reaction, as the audience sway their arms in the air with the camera lights in the air. If you came to be entertained, Busted will definitely make sure you have a good time.

let me tELL YOU SONGKICK:
okay so when busted announced they were getting back together i was SO happy, the band that made my childhood and the very same band of who no one, including the band themselves, thought would ever get back together and not gonna lie, I'd liked fightstar and Charlie's solo stuff but they were all different and I liked them all in their own way but busted would always have a special part in my heart as my first loves. Anyway, we bought our tickets etc etc and the day finally came, we went and had a meal over at centertainment when
Amazing performance. Lots of energy and love from Charlie, Matt and James. The new tracks they played from the currently unreleased new album were out of this world! I loved every second of it, I was part of the Pigsty Which was ablsolutly isane to see all those people in the crowd and have a different perspective of a gig was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Charlie looks especially happy to be back he was extremely happy and energetic throughout. The lads gave great vocals and played well all night. Very much enjoyed it. Cant wait to see them next time!
After Busted split up I was devastated and when u heard they were having a reunion tour I just knew I had to go! After gettin to see McBusted which had James and Matt this was even better! Play all of the classic songs and I never sat down once. Support acts were great and was an amazing atmosphere. Such funny, talented and down to earth lads. Music sounds even better live. All busted fans must see them!
I've been waiting to see them live for the best part of 18 years and the day before my 21st I finally got to see them.
Best show of my life and I've been to well over 150 gigs in the past 2 years.
Professor Green didn't suit the lineup at all and didn't gain much of a crowd.
Scouting For Girls however were a perfect opening act. Massive crowd with everyone singing along. Brilliant.
BRILLIANT night at the Echo Arena!! Busted were phenomenal and the stage lighting made the show. My 9 year old daughter's first ever show and she was blown away, and still hasn't come down off the high 2 days later !!!
Can't wait for another tour
We'll "Meet you there" Busted boys ... And it's true "pigs CAN fly !! X❤️X
I love busted to bits but I think compared to the concert with mcbusted if was really unorganised I had a great time but there were a few unorganised moments and we didn't get much time with them in the meet and greet but over all busted did amazing the support bands wee fantastic
Amazing concert, nice to hear the old and new song. Duration was a little short. The band played with the audience to entertain us. Stage was fine, lights were good. I missed the opportunity to shake hands and ask for autographs of the band (there were no VIP tickets)
They were amazing. I enjoyed every second of it, altough it felt like it was over so soon. The vocals live were sooo good & they were very interactive with the crowd. I would love to do it all over again & would highly recommend buying tickets for theirs shows 100%
Never watched you live ive got every single one of your albums even the old one year 3000 crashed the wedding air hostess you said no who's David what I go to school for im a big fan and would love to watch them live

Busted have announced that they will be celebrating their 20 th anniversary with an arena tour which is heading to The O2 on 10, 27 September and 10 October 2023. The band will be joined by special guests Hanson and The Tyne.
Impossible though it may seem, it’s been twenty years since Busted bounced into the charts with the irrepressible pop-punk energy of their debut single ‘What I Go To School For’ . It kickstarted a succession of hits for the trio, including the #1 smashes ‘Crashed The Wedding’, ‘Who’s David’ , ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’, ‘You Said No’ and the Top 3 singles ‘Year 3000’ , ‘Air Hostess’ and ‘Sleeping WIth The Light On’. Now Busted celebrate their 20th anniversary by announcing details of a major UK arena tour, alongside a series of new versions of fifteen of their classic hits to be released in the build-up, with some very special guests
The tour will see the original much-loved trio - James Bourne, Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis - play their hits and fan-favourites this September. The first track to launch the 20 th anniversary celebrations will be a new version of Busted’s song ‘Loser Kid’ featuring Simple Plan, which will be released on 14 April. Loser Kid featured as the final track on their self-titled debut album and was co-written by Bourne, Simpson and Willis.
Busted’s many successes spread far beyond the singles charts. Three of their four studio albums also peaked at #2, with 4.5 million sales leading to eight Platinum certifications as well as a total of 25 weeks in the Top 10 and two 5x Platinum selling albums. They have won two BRIT Awards - Best Pop Act and Best British Breakthrough - while multiple sold-out arena tours have seen them sell more than 2 million tickets.
Busted’s 20th anniversary tour follows Charlie Simpson’s recent triumph as the winner of 2023’s ’The Masked Singer’, adding to his other projects which have included four solo albums and four albums with the rock band Fightstar. James Bourne is a renowned songwriter, with credits including McFly, The Jonas Brothers, 5 Seconds of Summer and The Vamps, as well as his band Son of Dork and two recent solo albums ‘Safe Journey Home’ (2020) and ‘Sugar Beach’ (2022). After releasing his debut solo album, Matt Willis famously won ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ leading to a successful television career as well as acting roles which have included the recent West End hit ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’.

Rather than brand new tracks, Busted have created reworks of some of their most iconic songs and will perform them alongside some other major names from the scene.
The first release is a new version of Loser Kid, from Busted’s debut album; the track will hit airwaves on April 14 and will feature pop rock stars Simple Plan.
Other upcoming singles will have special guests McFly, All Time Low and more, with names to be released at a later date.
Busted 20th anniversary tour dates

Tickets for the tour will go on general sale at 9am on March 31, however fans who sign up to Busted’s mailing list will receive access to a pre-sale from 9am on March 29.
Rumours of a comeback for the group have circulated since Fightstar musician Charlie hinted to Lorraine Kelly ‘ there may be some plans ’ for a reunion.
‘It is the 20 year anniversary for Busted this year,’ he added.
‘Sworn to secrecy again… but there may be some stuff in the pipeline.’
Busted were first formed in 2000 and released their first, self-titled album in 2002, before their 2003 album A Present For Everyone threw them into even wider fame.
Their split in 2005 devastated fans, with many remembering genuine tears in the playground the day the news was announced; all three went on to form solo careers or front new bands.
Busted returned – in a way – in 2013, when Matt and James teamed up with McFly for supergroup McBusted, and Charlie finally returned in 2015, completing the original lineup.

Busted review – middle age no match for pop-punk perma-teens
Utilita Arena, Cardiff Crunching distortion obscures some hits, but the gleeful enthusiasm of old mates back on stage is infectious
H aving completed his latest charge around a runway that encircles a portion of the crowd, James Bourne looks as if he might expire on the spot. Stopping at his microphone, the baseball jersey-clad guitarist confirms that he is still breathing. Growing old gracefully was never an option for Busted, so approaching their 20th anniversary tour with a dose of humour is a wise move.
Two decades ago, Bourne, Charlie Simpson, and Matt Willis’s initial success – four No 1 singles and a couple of multi-platinum albums between 2002 and 2004 – felt inevitable after mashing together boyband cooing and juvenile pop-punk, two styles of music that were already monumentally popular.
Now, they are three men hovering around the age of 40 playing the role of perma-teenagers, and they seem genuinely happy to do so. The jacked, tattooed Willis is all love – for the audience, for his bandmates – while Simpson grins widely and adds gritty roars to 3am, his still-bleached mop lashing back and forth.
Their set opens with a clip of Christopher Lloyd reprising his role as Doc Brown from Back to the Future and exclaiming: “Has it been that long?” The knowing nods keep coming. Enormous screens project old music videos, improbable haircuts and Nokia 3210 graphics, but this self-referential streak only gets them so far.
Musically, everything arrives coated in crunching distortion, perhaps betraying some insecurity at the lack of authenticity that has long plagued Busted. During Air Hostess and an almost unrecognisable What I Go to School For the guitars are a swampy mess, undercutting any hooks and recalling those horrible Punk Goes Pop compilations, which served up downtuned takes on chart staples.
Radiating out from Willis, though, there is enough enthusiasm to power the arena. “I fucking love that Charlie Simpson is in Busted,” he cackles, tacitly acknowledging Simpson’s status as their Ginger Spice, the one who left. At the end of You Said No, he runs over to kiss Bourne on the cheek. Things will never be what they were, but old friendships are precious: as they all cruise towards middle age, Busted and their fans can agree on that.

Celebrate their 20th anniversary with a major uk arena tour. Joined by special guests hanson and new hope club.
Impossible though it may seem, it’s been twenty years since Busted bounced into the charts with the irrepressible pop-punk energy of their debut single ‘What I Go To School For’. It kickstarted a succession of hits for the trio, including the #1 smashes ‘Crashed The Wedding’, ‘Who’s David’, ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’, ‘You Said No’ and the Top 3 singles ‘Year 3000’, ‘Air Hostess’ and ‘Sleeping With The Light On’. Now Busted celebrate their 20th anniversary by announcing details of a major UK arena tour, alongside a series of new versions of fifteen of their classic hits to be released in the build-up, with some very special guests.
The tour will see the original much-loved trio - James Bourne, Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis - play their hits and fan-favourites to a combined audience of 150,000 people over the course of fifteen shows this September. Supporting Busted will be the iconic Hanson. The pop trio brothers are behind hits including the number 1 smash ‘MMMBop’, ‘Where’s The Love’, ‘I Will Come To You’ and ‘Penny & Me’. The line-up will also feature New Hope Club, who scored a Top 5 hit with their self-titled debut album and have since exceeded 2 billion streams.
The first track to launch the 20th anniversary celebrations will be a new version of Busted’s song ‘Loser Kid’ featuring Simple Plan, which will be released on April 14th.

Share All sharing options for: Rory McIlroy “carries” Shane Lowry to 25th PGA Tour win at Zurich Classic
The PGA Tour is in New Orleans this week for the only team event on tour, the Zurich Classic.
Despite a tumultuous round by Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry , the Irish duo came out on top in a playoff over Martin Trainer and Chad Ramey.
It is McIlroy’s 25th career victory on the PGA Tour . Lowry notched his third and his first since winning The Open in 2019. But it was the former that did most of the heavy lifting.
“Let’s go and get 400 [FedEx Cup] points each. That’s what we’ve done, and I nearly feel a little bit bad taking them because Rory carried me a lot of the way,” Lowry said with a smile after the win.
Nearly three hours before the 72nd hole had been played by all teams, Trainer and Ramey entered the clubhouse at 25-under par. A number of pairs were already at or just below that number with practically an entire round to play.
Yet, windy conditions made scoring very difficult as no one would finish any lower.
A bogey on 17 for McIlroy and Lowry dropped them one shot off the pace. But the Northern Irishman made up for it on 18 with a fantastic chip . That set up a short birdie putt, which Lowry drained to get into the playoff.

In the playoff, Ramey and Trainer’s rust showed. Two hours and 54 minutes after they finished their round, Trainer’s tee shot missed the fairway left. Despite getting a clean lie just short of the fairway bunker, Ramey yanked his 3-wood well left of the green.
Meanwhile, McIlroy’s tee shot found the fairway. Lowry’s approach came up just short, nestling into the greenside bunker. But they were still in decent shape.
Trainer chunked his third and Ramey chipped up near the hole, leaving a makable 5-footer for par.
McIlroy hit a decent bunker shot, which left his fellow Irishman with 10 feet for the win. But just like much of the week, Lowry’s putter failed him. He missed the putt just above the hole and it appeared as though a massive opportunity slipped away.
Moments later though, Trainer inexplicably missed his short par putt, sealing the victory for McIlroy and Lowry.
“Absolutely amazing. We’ve had an awesome week here in New Orleans. The crowds all week have been absolutely amazing. To get the support that we’ve had out there and to have so much fun while doing it, it’s been an awesome week, and obviously I feel like it’s just a bonus to win at the end,” McIlroy said.
“But couldn’t be better to have this man alongside me to get a PGA Tour win together.”
It likely was not the way they envisioned winning, but a victory is a victory, however it comes.
This was McIlroy’s first time playing in this event. He had such a great time and received such a warm welcome, that he already let everyone know his future plans.
“I’d say we’re going to come back and defend next year.”
In a much-needed boost, Lowry and McIlroy jumped to 12th and 15th respectively on the FedEx Cup points list with the win.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse 2024 tour setlist: Every song they played at Phoenix concert
Neil Young brought Crazy Horse to Phoenix for the first since 2003, when the Greendale Tour played what we now call Arizona Financial Theatre.
Saturday’s show at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre was in support of "FU##IN’ UP," a new release that captures Young and Crazy Horse in all their ragged glory.
And they treated Phoenix to a show that put the spotlight on the staples that have made Young one of rock ‘n’ roll's most celebrated elder statesmen, setting the tone with an epic performance of “Cortez the Killer” that lasted roughly 15 minutes.
By the time they brought the concert to a cacophonous conclusion with the glorious racket of “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" and a one-song encore of "Danger Bird," Young and Crazy Horse had powered their way through such classics as “Cinnamon Girl,” “Don’t Cry No Tears” and “Powderfinger.”
Young also took a break from the distortion and his bandmates for a three-song unplugged mini-set, including “Comes a Time” and “Heart of Gold,” before the night was through.

Following last week’s announcement of the now fast-selling U.K. tour, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse composer Daniel Pemberton is revealing that the film’s live-in-concert experience is now web-swinging across the Atlantic and into the States.
Related Stories
Oscars: 'killers of the flower moon' shut out, emma stone surprises and 'barbie' wins only once, cas awards: 'oppenheimer,' 'the last of us,' 'the bear' among winners.
The Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated composer channeled the rave and club scene of ‘90s London to create the musical identity of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga. And while this experimental approach could be done with relative ease in the recording studio, Pemberton was initially uncertain if the multidimensional scores of Into the Spider-Verse and now Across the Spider-Verse could be recreated for a continuous live-to-picture performance.
“ I always thought it’d be impossible to do live, because they jump between so many different ideas and genres. But a long time ago, I did a couple of cues at a one-off film music festival, and I was really surprised at how effective it worked,” Pemberton tells The Hollywood Reporter . “So that got my brain thinking about trying to do the whole film live, and we did a couple of tests that went down phenomenally.”
Pemberton is quick to credit the Phil Lord and Chris Miller-produced films for providing him with the leeway that inherently comes with the franchise’s revolutionary approach to animation.
Below, during a recent conversation with THR in support of Across the Spider-Verse ’s U.S. tour announcement, Pemberton also explains how the first cue he ever wrote for Across wound up serving as the film’s thematic bookends involving Gwen Stacy.
So how did you arrive at this point where Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse both have live concerts and tours?
The Spider-Verse films probably have the most complicated scores I’ve ever done, and I always thought it’d be impossible to do live, because they jump between so many different ideas and genres. But a long time ago, I did a couple of cues at a one-off film music festival, and I was really surprised at how effective it worked. So that got my brain thinking about trying to do the whole film live, and we did a couple of tests that went down phenomenally.
So Into the Spider-Verse has now been on a tour, and it’s crazy that it’s become quite a huge thing with a touring band and a whole bunch of musicians driving around America in a truck. But we’ve only done Across the Spider-Verse live once, and that was at the Academy Museum in L.A. That was the first and only time it’s been done so far, but it’s so much work to get the show watertight. Once you’ve done that, then you can start working out how to turn it into a touring show.
On certain dates, will you be there to pick up a guitar and play various other instruments?
There are moments in the score with opera singing and whistling. Will the live shows actually have designated opera singers and whistlers?
The whistling we normally do live, but the opera singer is probably going to be on track. There’s a lot of things in this score that are so complex to balance. So we’re trying to give a live experience, but it’s not like a symphonic orchestra where every single element is all being performed live. We have loads of live stuff backed with electronics and turntables, and that’s the only way we could really make it work. It’s really about how much of an exciting show it is. And if you see the show on two different nights, you are going to get a slightly different experience, but also a very unique live experience.
What percentage of Into the Spider-Verse ’s score did you expand on in Across the Spider-Verse ?
For me, great film music is when you have strong themes and strong identities that are completely recognizable to that film. Great film music is when you can hear something away from the film and it takes you back into that universe. And that can be as simple as a certain noise or a huge melody. And with Spider-Verse , we have created quite a unique melody and sound, so it’s really fun to keep expanding on that. Everything is connected in these two movies. Every sound and motif connect together.
One of the things that’s been interesting is watching the reactions of younger filmgoers who are starting to learn about cinema and film music and how surprised they are at thematic continuity and motifs that can connect characters. It is one of those very iconic and also straightforward parts of film music. But there hasn’t been a consistent approach, especially with the superhero movies over the last couple of decades. Often you have different composers scoring different episodes in different franchises, and if you look at The Lord of the Rings or Star Wars movies, there is a very strong thematic and melodic approach between those. You’ve got one vision, one composer, and with Spider-Verse , that’s what we’re trying to do. So, for a lot of younger people, that’s often quite new to them, which is obviously quite weird to me.
Yeah, it’s really difficult. In the good old days of film music, the composer would get a cut, write their piece of music, and then they’d record it and stick it on the film. And then there’s a round of applause for everyone. In the modern world and the modern way of film composing, everything changes all the time. So you might write something to picture, but then that picture might get slightly tweaked: something gets put in or extended or taken out at the last minute. So the music is always in flux, and while you can make that work for a film, you can’t do that when you have musicians playing it live. You have to make it in a way that is enjoyable and exciting for the musicians to play. If the musicians are only thinking about the technicality of very complicated tempo changes, which you might have when you’re editing a film to move between things, it is going to be a terrible live performance. So, like Ludwig, I had to go back to the beginning and rebuild the score, scene by scene. Some scenes will be slightly different on a very minuscule level. I’m talking tiny, tiny stuff, but you still have to build the whole thing from the ground up again, and that is very time consuming. It’s a bit like pulling a car apart and rebuilding it. You get to learn all the bits in the score again. But I saw Ludwig’s performance. It was brilliant, but I would not want to be a musician during that performance. It never stops. It’s exhausting. It’s a beautiful score, but Oppenheimer feels like the musician equivalent of running two marathons back to back.
Well, I like to think it was the other way around because he saw mine first. ( Laughs .) So he came to my show, and we worked with some of the same people, actually. It was the same production team, so Mike Kasper from Black Ink worked on that with Ludwig. But we like to keep an eye on what each other is doing. We’re good friends, and I’ve got massive respect for his work. It also makes me a bit jealous, so that’s a good sign.
Are composers pretty competitive with one another?
Oh, for sure. The best film music in the world is stuff that makes 50 percent of me incredibly jealous and annoyed, because it’s better than anything I’ve done and it’s everything I aspire to do. And the other 50 percent is like, “This is everything film music should be.” So you’re incredibly excited because it’s everything you care about, and when you hear it done well, it’s very exciting. So it’s the 50-50 rule of excitement and jealousy. If you get that, then it’s a great score.
Ludwig also had tempo changes to account for, so they had to introduce a new click track just one bar before the tempo change happened on the page. Did you run into similar tempo challenges?
Well, on Oppenheimer , there’s loads and loads of crazy tempo changes, and I remember Ludwig telling me about that when we were having a beer in London. And what’s interesting about that is you’ll get smudge and imperfection. Sometimes, this can be really interesting because players are not all going to play together, and we have something similar to that with Spot, the baddie in Across the Spider-Verse . I recorded multiple de-tuned cello parts that weren’t all in tune, and if you keep tracking stuff that’s de-tuned, it’s like drawing a line many times. If you draw a straight line once, and then you badly draw a line 60 times, you will start to get a feeling of where the central line is, making it very unstable and interesting. So we have something similar with the cellos. They’re detuned, but they all align around one melody. That’s more of a melodic idea than a tempo idea, but putting multiple tempo changes in is something I try to avoid. It’s a nightmare when it comes to editing, so if you don’t have to do it, don’t do it.
Yeah, it’s different, and I like working that way. It allows you to experiment and not be dictated to by the picture. So I will go through a very long process, which I call research and development, where I’ll try out loads of ideas and come up with sounds, themes, motifs. So I do write that way, but to do a film like Spider-Verse , the music is so reactive to the picture. You can’t just slap a track on and then go to the pub. You have to work at it so much to make it in sync with the visuals and in sync with the story, because the movie moves at an incredible pace and you have to hit so many different emotions and beats within seconds of each other. So I need to write themes that you recognize within two seconds because we are going to move somewhere else afterwards, and that’s a very complicated task. If you’re doing an indie film where you might have one tone or one mood, it’s easier to do that, but this has the movement of a big blockbuster. So you need music that’s incredibly nimble, and over the years, the only thing that’s been able to deal with that kind of nimbleness has been the symphony orchestra. So I was always like, “How do I create a sound and a palette and an approach that has the speed and nimbleness of a full orchestra but isn’t a full orchestra? Something new, something different.” And with Spider-Verse , we created all these techniques through scratching, turntables, weird electronic sound design, live orchestra drums, and we built a language that allowed me to write a score that could be that reactive to picture. But you try to do it in a way that hopefully feels elegant and simplistic enough that you don’t notice the movement.
The cue that bookends Across is probably my favorite, as Gwen’s ( Hailee Steinfeld ) heavy drum parts are right in my wheelhouse.
So I reworked it for that, and then much later, for the ending of the film, we didn’t know what to do and we tried different approaches. And then a great [supervising] music editor on Spider-Verse called Katie Greathouse, who’s a very important part of the team, just said, “Oh, why don’t we try that track over this?” So she just pulled it out and put it on, and we were like, “Fuck, this really works. Wow.” So I was like, “Okay, the idea works, but I need to go away and rework it.” So I ran to this other office, because I was working in the same offices as all of them, and then I just wrote like crazy. And suddenly, we had the ending. So that was one of the most exciting moments for me; I felt we had something that was really special. By the way, that bit is great live. It’s such a fun ending to end a concert on.
Every live set list has a song or a cue that every musician anticipates, usually because it’s the most challenging piece. Is there one in particular that will allow your musicians to breathe easier once they nail it live?
So it’s a very unique and unusual way to experience cinema. I don’t know of anything else that’s like this communal experience with an audience. I know Americans like to make a lot more noise, but people are generally quite restrained in cinema. And I like that. I am not a big fan of lots of noise in the cinema, but when you see a film live with an orchestra and a band and a scratch DJ, make as much noise as you want. It’s a whole different way of seeing a film. So that’s why I’m excited for people to experience this on tour. You can’t have this cool and unique experience anywhere else.
If you were handed these exact movies in live-action or you went into them with the foreknowledge that they were live-action, how different would both scores be in your estimation?
I enjoyed it.
Cathy [Yan], the director, had a very strong and unusually different vision for how that film should feel and look, and I got very excited by that. So I felt that it was a way to be a bit more creative, and that score is probably close to what Spider-Verse sounds like. It’s more trashy guitar-based, but if you look at King Arthur: Legend of the Sword that I did with Guy Ritchie, that’s got a similar sort of aesthetic where I got to do something a bit more creative. So it always depends on the film and the filmmakers and the approach, really, but I like things where you can push at the edges a bit more.
From Aaron Sorkin and Danny Boyle to Spider-Verse , is there an underlying principle to working on opposite ends of the spectrum? Do these projects have more in common than people might realize?
