Une équipe de trois dentistes chacun spécialisé dans différents domaines de la dentisterie vous accueille et vous accompagne pour la réussite de votre traitement.

Notre activité est centrée sur l’implantologie associée à la chirurgie reconstructrice osseuse et gingivale.

Afin d’optimiser cet exercice, nous l’associons à d’autres disciplines telles que la parodontologie, l’hygiène et l’esthétique.

Si vous êtes adressé, l’étroite coopération entre les différents praticiens autour de ces différentes disciplines permettra une parfaite prise en charge avec votre dentiste traitant.

Toutes les conditions matérielles sont réunies pour réaliser un diagnostic approfondi et réussir le traitement. Indépendamment du matériel conventionnel et perfectionné qui équipe un cabinet dentaire moderne, notre cabinet est équipé d’un matériel spécifique.

Microchirurgie et aide optique

Toutes nos interventions chirurgicales sont réalisées en microchirurgie à l’aide d’une aide optique (grossissement deux à cinq fois) équipée d’une lumière frontale Led et d’une instrumentation spécifique. L’utilisation de microlames chirurgicales et de fils de sutures très fins permet d’augmenter significativement la vascularisation, et d’obtenir une meilleure cicatrisation plus rapide. L’adaptation précise des bords des plaies permet en outre de réduire la visibilité des cicatrices dans les zones esthétiques.

Salle de chirurgie

La clinique est équipée de deux salles de chirurgie spécifiquement équipées et dédiées à l’exercice de la chirurgie et de la microchirurgie. Elles nous permettent ainsi d’effectuer nos interventions dans les conditions optimales d’ergonomie et d’asepsie.

Pour votre confort, une ambiance musicale est disponible dans les deux salles. Si vous le désirez, n’hésitez pas à venir avec vos CD préférés que nous nous ferons un plaisir d’écouter et découvrir avec vous durant le temps des interventions.

Piezo Chirurgie

Les chirurgies osseuses ainsi que les prélèvements peuvent être réalisés à l’aide d’instrumentations ultrasoniques, nous permettant de sécuriser les interventions. Il est ainsi possible de couper l’os et le façonner avec une grande précision et moins de risque invasif pour les tissus mous qui l’entourent.

Prise d’empreinte numérique

La prise d’empreinte numérique est une solution moderne et efficace. Le scanner intra-oral est un capteur très sensible que l’on passe autour des dents pour obtenir une empreinte optique numérique en 3 D et en couleur. Elle offre un grand confort car elle se fait sans matériau de moulage et évite ainsi les haut-le-cœur avec les matériaux d’empreinte encombrants. La grande qualité de la prise d’empreinte numérique permet surtout d’obtenir des restaurations prothétiques d’une très grande précision. L’efficacité de la prise d’empreinte numérique minimise le risque de reprendre des empreintes et de planifier des rendez-vous supplémentaires.

Radio 3D cône-beam

Le cabinet dentaire est équipé d’une radio panoramique et d’un scanner 3D. Les dernières avancées techniques ont permis de créer des scanners de petite taille très peu irradiants pouvant être utilisés sur place au cabinet.

Le scanner dentaire est devenu un outil indispensable pour établir un bon diagnostic précis et instantané. Il est réalisé systématiquement lorsque l’indication d’implants est posée. Il va permettre une étude précise de l’anatomie osseuse et dentaire initiale.

Eclaircissement dentaire

Tout le monde souhaite avoir un sourire plus blanc. Des dents et des gencives saines, c’est important, mais la beauté de notre sourire dépend aussi de la teinte de nos dents.

Venez en discuter avec nous et nous pourrons vous proposer un traitement sûr, efficace et indolore adapté à vos exigences, votre temps disponible et votre budget.

Effectivement, cela peut être soit un traitement réalisé directement au fauteuil, ou un traitement professionnel à domicile.

Au fauteuil, il existe alors différents éclaircissements possibles (de 10 à 30 minutes) pour un résultat immédiat et proposés à différents budgets.

A domicile, le traitement consistera en une application d’un gel spécifique dans des gouttières individualisées (pour un résultat optimal) réalisées par notre laboratoire de prothèse à Tours. La durée du traitement sera alors de 2 à 4 semaines avec un port de gouttière qui se fait généralement la nuit.

Air-flow Prophylaxie

Notre clinique est équipée de deux Air -Flow ® One Prophylaxis Master dédiés à la maintenance et la prophylaxie. Des hauts niveaux d’hygiène orale sont désormais simplement atteignables. La poudre de l’appareil permet d’éliminer efficacement le biofilm, les colorations et le tartre récemment formé en application supra et sous-gingivale en offrant un niveau élevé de confort au patient; ceci tout en réduisant considérablement le besoin de recourir à l’instrumentation manuelle et ultrasonique. L’instrument permet d’éliminer le tartre résiduel de manière indolore et peu invasive là où cela est nécessaire.

Traitement de l’air

Pour votre sécurité et pour créer un environnement protégé, un système performant de décontamination et traitement de l’air a été mis en place dans toutes nos salles de soins et dans notre salle d’attente. Dans le contexte sanitaire actuel, toutes les précautions ont été prises pour garantir votre sécurité.

ATP 38 et photobiostimulation

La photobiostimulation encore appelée LLLT, pour Low Level Light Therapy, consiste à exposer le patient à des lumières de différentes longueurs d’ondes afin de stimuler des processus biologiques au niveau cellulaire et obtenir des bénéfices largement démontrés scientifiquement par une accélération des processus de régénération. Ce traitement, totalement indolore et non invasif, se pratique au cabinet dentaire et sous surveillance. Les séances qui durent 12 minutes favorisent et accélèrent la cicatrisation de la gencive et de l’os après les chirurgies et les soins dentaires.

En secteur esthétique, l’implantologie permet de remplacer les dents absentes mais des techniques de reconstruction de l’os et de la gencive associées sont souvent nécessaires pour intégrer la restauration implantaire le plus naturellement possible dans le sourire. Durant les mois nécessaires à la cicatrisation et à l’intégration osseuse des implants, une solution transitoire est systématiquement proposée pour maintenir l’esthétique du sourire. Dans certaines conditions particulières, il sera possible de placer directement une couronne provisoire dès la pose de l’implant.

Dans la plupart des cas, vous êtes adressé par votre chirurgien-dentiste ou orthodontiste qui a posé l’indication des implants. Nous interviendrons en complémentarité avec votre praticien pour élaborer un plan de traitement global qui corresponde à vos attentes. Notre spécialité est la prise en charge des étapes chirurgicales. Nous partageons la même exigence et vision globale de notre profession. Votre praticien est formé à la prothèse implantaire et aux reconstructions dentaires globales. C’est lui qui s’occupera de la restauration prothétique une fois vos implant posés et ostéointégrés. Dès votre première visite nous assurons une correspondance avec votre praticien jusqu’à la fin du traitement qui nous incombe. Nous ne manquerons pas de le tenir informé de l’évolution de votre traitement.

Si votre dentiste vous a remis un courrier ou des examens complémentaires, pensez à les apporter le jour de votre première consultation.

Si vous êtes un praticien référent du cabinet

La consultation préopératoire est une étape indispensable à votre prise en charge. Nous écouterons vos attentes et adapterons notre prise en charge à vos besoins.

Lors des premiers rendez-vous, un bilan approfondi sera effectué afin de définir les différentes solutions thérapeutiques correspondant à vos attentes. Le traitement, ainsi que les différentes interventions envisagées, vous seront présentés. Chaque traitement est un CAS PARTICULIER. Il faut tenir compte de l’environnement dentaire, mais aussi du contexte médical. C’est pour cela qu’aucun devis ne peut être établi sans vous avoir examiné ni sans avoir étudié les résultats des différents examens nécessaires (radio, scanner, etc.) C’est aussi pour cela que nous ne pouvons pas faire de consultations à distance sans vous avoir reçu ni examiné.

Durant votre traitement, de nombreuses photos seront prises. Limitées à votre bouche, elles restent confidentielles et en aucun cas elles ne sont diffusées. Elles nous permettent de fixer la situation initiale et de suivre l’évolution de votre traitement. Les photos et les vidéos facilitent également la transmission de l’information entre les différents intervenants, en particulier le laboratoire de prothèse.

En cas d’urgence suite à une intervention réalisée au sein de notre cabinet, n’hésitez pas à prendre contact avec nous.

En cas de fermeture du cabinet, le Dr Degorce vous aura donné un numéro de téléphone portable où vous pouvez le joindre en dehors des horaires d’ouverture du cabinet.

Service de garde

Un service de garde est organisé les dimanches et jours fériés par le Conseil de l’Ordre Départemental des Chirurgiens-Dentistes.

Vous trouverez les coordonnées du dentiste de garde dans votre quotidien régional ou en téléphonant au commissariat/gendarmerie de votre ville.

En cas d’urgence traumatique

En cas de traumatisme dentaire consécutif à une chute ou à un choc, prenez immédiatement contact avec notre équipe.

S’il y a expulsion d’une dent définitive

Le geste d’urgence consiste à récupérer la dent, sans la nettoyer, et à la conserver dans du sérum physiologique ou du lait (sinon la conserver dans sa propre salive). La réimplantation, si elle est possible, devra se faire aussi rapidement que possible

S’il y a déplacement des dents définitives

Le geste d’urgence consiste, à chaud, à les replacer correctement avec la pression des doigts. Si nous sommes absents, prenez immédiatement contact avec le service d’odontologie, de stomatologie ou d’O.R.L. de l’hôpital le plus proche. La guérison dépendra de la promptitude d’intervention de l’équipe médicale.

Tours : une attaque au couteau dans un cabinet dentaire quartier des Fontaines fait deux blessés graves

Une attaque au couteau a eu lieu à Tours, quartier des Fontaines, ce lundi 17 octobre. Les faits se sont déroulés quartier des Fontaines, dans un cabinet dentaire. Un homme mécontent d'une consultation s'en est pris au dentiste.

Muni d'un couteau de 30 centimètres de long et d'un marteau, un homme de 41 ans a fait irruption dans un cabinet dentaire du quartier des Fontaines, à Tours , ce lundi  un peu avant 14h. Mécontent d'une consultation intervenue quelques jours plus tôt, il s'est précipité vers le dentiste et lui a porté "de nombreux coups de couteau sur le tronc dont plusieurs dans le dos", indique le procureur de la République de Tours, Grégoire Dulin, dans un communiqué. 

L'assistante a ensuite tenté d'intervenir et s'est pris, elle aussi, des coups de couteau. Trois, au total. L'homme a finalement été maitrisé par plusieurs personnes à l'intérieur du cabinet médical, situé au deuxième étage d'un immeuble. Le dentiste, âgé de 58 ans, et son assistante de 52 ans sont sérieusement blessés mais leur pronostic vital n'est pas engagé. 

Un homme inconnu des services de police et de justice

Placé en garde à vue dans la foulée de son interpellation, l'individu, en est depuis sorti. "À l'issue de son examen médical, son état de santé n'a pas été jugé compatible avec une mesure de garde à vue" , précise Grégoire Dulin, qui ajoute qu'un "arrêté de soins psychiatriques sur décision du représentant de l'État va être pris".

Il était, jusqu'ici, inconnu des services de police et de justice. L'enquête, elle, est confiée à la Sûreté départementale de la Direction départementale de sécurité publique (DDSP) d'Indre-et-Loire.

Fontaines DC: ‘We can generate ideas that sound like they’ve been carved in stone for a thousand years’

Influenced by Korn and moving beyond their native Ireland, the band are ready to be one of the biggest in the world. They explain how panic attacks and parenthood came to bear on a bold new LP

C arlos O’Connell isn’t merely excited about the release of Fontaines DC’s new single. He’s “giddy for it. I’m giddy ,” he emphasises, reclining in his dressing gown in a sunlit corner of his north London home. His attire is far from rock star loucheness: it’s 9am and the guitarist has already been up for hours with his one-year-old daughter. “There’s no time to get ready!” His effusiveness doesn’t feel like a stretch: the prospect of any new material from the celebrated Dublin band is thrilling enough; the fact that Starburster marks a wholly unexpected sidestep into antic, irreverent, Korn-inspired nu-metal is enough to make any interested parties come over slightly light-headed.

Yet later that afternoon, Fontaines frontman Grian Chatten is finding it difficult to muster the same enthusiasm. Perhaps because he can’t quite bring himself to listen to the thing – or, in fact, any of the band’s forthcoming fourth album, Romance. He tells me this from a more stereotypical hot seat, a characterfully cluttered old-school pub in Camden Town, although he’s not cleaving to rock cliche, either. We are on the Diet Cokes and the only pharmaceuticals around are his ADHD medication, which he remembers to take halfway through the interview. “Want one?” he offers, snapping the blister pack.

There are four whole months until Romance is released in August: is there a chance Chatten may give it a spin in the meantime? “I’m considering it,” he says, seriously. “Which is more than I could have said for any album we’ve done before.”

Those previous albums were raging successes, winning the band a Brit award, Grammy and Mercury prize nominations and, in the case of 2022’s Skinty Fia, a place at the top of the UK charts (its predecessor, A Hero’s Death, narrowly lost a well-publicised chart battle with Taylor Swift). They also put the five-piece in the running for best rock band in the world, though they have little competition for the title.

Yet you can understand why Chatten finds it hard to revisit them. Fontaines’ 2019 debut Dogrel – a blast of penetrating post-punk teeming with pickaxe-like hooks – spotlit Chatten, who might as well have been shouting his jagged evocations of small-town malaise down the phone at you. A Hero’s Death and Skinty Fia gilded the clattering bones of their original sound with simmering atmosphere, baggy swagger, and clever but memorable melodies. Yet they were still essentially vehicles for Chatten’s vocals: guileless, strident, uninhibited. “I’ve put a lot of myself out there the past few years,” he says.

Chatten’s solution to this overexposure is – somewhat counterintuitively – to go bigger. In the autumn, Fontaines supported Arctic Monkeys on their US tour; before that, Chatten saw Blur at Wembley. Both showcased what he saw as the appealing “universality” and reciprocity of the stadium experience; ocean-like crowds chanting lyrics about big emotions seemed like a way of sharing the burden of self-expression, a kind of “armour” for the artist. Chatten decided a potentially arena-filling “grandiosity” would be Romance’s animating principle. “I didn’t want to write, like, a Champagne Supernova, but I did want to do something that felt like it was deep within and far without,” he says, with his own trademark grandiosity, one that jars in the best way coming from this slightly uneasy 29-year-old in a pair of poppered 90s trackies.

The sweeping singalong strategy is also a way of transcending the theme the band has become synonymous with: Romance is Fontaines’ “least Irish” album, says Chatten. Until now, the country has been setting, subject and spectre, rendered through densely referential lyrics (the DC in their name stands for Dublin City; the rest refers to singer Johnny Fontane from The Godfather). Dogrel opens with the line: “Dublin in the rain is mine / A pregnant city with a Catholic mind”, while penultimate track Boys in the Better Land caricatures an Anglophobic cabby: “He spits out ‘Brits out!’, only smokes Carrolls”. Jackie Down the Line, from Skinty Fia – an album which reckons with the internal conflict of leaving Ireland for London – initially seems to be about an abusive relationship, but that warps like a stereogram when you hear Chatten’s belief that it’s really about “Irishness surviving in England”.

O’Connell thinks the band’s focus on Ireland was always about something broader; he says the songs were ultimately “meditations on identity and belonging, understanding your own place in the world”. For Chatten, it’s just “a colour I didn’t really feel like painting with at the moment, especially with the intensity with which we did. I don’t want to write something that feels like a sequel.”

Hence: Korn. In a break with their signature style, Starburster sees the band channel the forbidding nu-metal pioneers in a “tongue-in-cheek” trip down memory lane, says Chatten. For O’Connell, it was an exercise in post-ironic nostalgia towards “this thing I loved when I was 14 and stopped listening to for years and now I love again”. He also cites the Californian band’s contemporaries Deftones and Alice in Chains as influences. But for Chatten it’s Korn – a band that “scared the shit out of me as a kid” – and Korn alone (“I fucking hate Limp Bizkit and don’t even really like Rage Against the Machine”).

Most nu-metal sounds like a panic attack in sonic form; Starburster literally is. In January, Chatten was travelling to the studio to record some “shite lyrics” for the track when he had a panic attack. He sat down in London’s St Pancras station, completely “stultified”, he says. “I couldn’t talk to anyone. I couldn’t leave the table, because I wouldn’t be able to pick up the right things.” The only thing he could do, he found, was rewrite the words of the song. The result is a dark, funny maelstrom of wild, flailing desire, Chatten’s way of airing his frustration with his actual physical “inertia; not being able to get the motor going inside me”. Panting punctuates the ranting, echoing the hyperventilation he tends to experience with a panic attack.

Chatten used to get panic attacks a lot before he started medication for ADHD; he received his diagnosis three weeks after the St Pancras incident. Previously, he would have them attempting to leave the house, running “up and down the stairs 12 times” to ensure he had everything. “With each trip, I’d be chipping away at my self-confidence, feeling like I’m incapable of looking after myself.”

He says things have improved on that front, but it’s clear he still gets anxious – especially in public. Rock stardom may not have the attendant fame it once did, but phones have made Chatten feel “doubly exposed for half the celebrity I am”. He is perturbed by people filming him and strangers Googling him in plain view. Recently, in a cafe, he ended up cancelling his order and leaving because all “these people were staring at me”.

The bad news is that Chatten is destined to become even more recognisable; I would be very surprised if Romance, a new creative peak, doesn’t fast-track Fontaines to those prospective arenas. Does their trajectory frighten him? “Yes, but I’m up to the challenge of getting better.”

That trajectory has been a remarkably old-fashioned, reassuringly meritocratic one: no viral hits, no big label leg-up – Romance marks their signing to XL – no starry co-signs. The band – which also features Tom Coll on drums, Conor Curley on guitar and Conor Deegan III on bass – formed in Dublin in 2014, having met as students at the city’s Bimm music institute; Chatten was born in Cumbria but they all grew up in Ireland, bar O’Connell, who spent his childhood in Madrid, although his mother is from Dublin. (I’m speaking solely to Chatten and O’Connell, as Fontaines prefer not to be interviewed as a group.) Then, they just “gigged and gigged and gigged” their way to recognition, says Chatten. They paid their dues – extortionate Dublin rents meant in the early years they dossed down in a disused business centre full of beds (“Curly shared mine. It was awful”) – but Chatten can’t say there were years of frustration; broadly speaking, Fontaines have had a seamless rise.

Ultimately, the only way to be a successful young rock band today is to genuinely rival the greats – and Fontaines do. That’s partly because all their songs feel like undiscovered classics, to the extent that I wonder how often O’Connell worries they actually are forgotten favourites as he writes. “All the time!” he replies breezily, face haloed by prongs of faded pink hair. “Sometimes you’re like: fuck, that’s that other Beatles song.” Especially strong melodies stop him in his tracks. “But if you can’t place it then you just hope it’s not a rip-off,” he says, very much the nonchalant foil to Chatten’s brow-furrowed overthinker.

All that thinking is the other key to Fontaines’ success: it’s helped Chatten write lyrics so scintillating they make you yearn for the days of album liner notes to pore over. As a child, Chatten’s father bribed him with packets of football stickers to memorise poems; he also alerted him to the poetry of pop songs. Soon he was listening to Bob Dylan and the Cure, copying out the words to Just Like Heaven and having a go himself. In retrospect, he thinks, he was trying to reach beyond the banality of everyday life. “Robert Smith isn’t going out on the pints and saying words like that to people, but in the current day we can generate ideas that sound like they’ve been carved in stone for a thousand years.”

Chatten does do a great line in plausibly ancient truisms. “They say they love the land but they don’t feel it go to waste / Hold a mirror to the youth and they will only see their face,” he sings on I Love You, Skinty Fia’s dismayed ode to an Ireland left behind. That song also showcases the musician’s piercing specificity (“Now the morning’s filled with cokeys tryna talk you through it all / Is their mammy Fine Gael and is their daddy Fianna Fáil?”). It’s all deeply considered, brilliantly rendered and very deliberate.

Despite relinquishing their focus on Ireland, Romance’s moreishly gorgeous finale, Favourite – a jangling whirl of circularly melodic, rainbow-lit melancholy reminiscent of Morrissey’s Why Don’t You Find Out for Yourself – does sound like a love letter to their home town. O’Connell isn’t sure: “It’s hard to know when Grian writes the love songs if it’s about his fiancee or if it’s about Dublin.” Chatten says he was trying to capture the feeling of “George’s Street, Camden Street in Dublin in the rain, outside the pubs there”, although his main subject was “booze and drugs, and depression … darkness as a warm bath to slip into”.

In person, Chatten comes across as friendly and self-effacing rather than downbeat or tortured, but his answers do read rather bleakly on the page. At one point he suddenly starts fretting about his ability to parent his future children if he gets writer’s block. “This relationship I have with creativity is what will keep me stable enough to raise kids. If that thing I have with the songwriting goes, I’m worried I’ll be a hard person to be around.” I try to reassure him that once he has children it’s unlikely he’ll have the mental space to even think in those terms. “Anyway, Carlos has a kid and he’s really creative and it’s all good,” he nods.

For O’Connell, having a child has made the band’s jam-packed touring schedule for 2024 – a string of festivals leading up to a European and US tour – a positively relaxing prospect: “You get more sleep on the road than you do at home.” Last year, he took paternity leave from the band’s Australian tour for the birth of his daughter with his partner, French actor Joséphine de La Baume. It was a “super easy” decision: “I wanted to do everything perfect for her.”

O’Connell isn’t sure how much of Romance the band will be “allowed” to play at summer festivals before its release, but can’t wait to showcase their enjoyably brash new look, an amalgam of shiny sportswear, nu-metal jean chains, Keith Flint-style cyberpunk and grungy androgyny. O’Connell spearheaded the style; Romance’s songs made him see “neon green everywhere”.

It’s the first time the band have had a considered, holistic aesthetic. Initially, says their frontman, “we had a vague idea of ourselves under-dressing. I loved wearing the same shirt every day for two weeks and shit like that.” This being Chatten, however, it is no surprise to discover that his grubby top was actually doing double duty as a profound metaphor for his conflicted views on fame, success and the blossoming legacy of Fontaines DC.

“It was almost a way of counteracting the sense of upward trajectory of the band at the time,” he says wistfully. “It just made me feel like nothing’s changing.”

Romance is released by XL Recordings on 23 August. Starburster is out now. A European tour begins 12 June including dates at Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds festivals .

Announced today (Friday, April 19), the new dates arrive in celebration of the band’s upcoming album, ‘Romance’ .

Grian Chatten and co. shared news of their fourth LP earlier this week, dropping the pummelling new single ‘Starburster’ and confirming that it will be arriving later this August.

Produced by James Ford ( Arctic Monkeys , Foals , Depeche Mode ), the release will mark the follow-up to 2022’s acclaimed ‘ Skinty Fia ‘ and will be shared via XL Recordings. Visit here to pre-order it.

The new tour dates are set to take place across the latter half of 2024, and kick off on November 20 with an opening night at The Halls venue in Wolverhampton. From there, the tour will continue with a gig at Alexandra Palace in London two days later.

Shows in Cardiff, Plymouth, Nottingham and Manchester are lined up for the remainder of the month, and the final three shows will take place during the first week of December.

The December shows include a gig at First Direct Arena in Leeds (3), Glasgow’s OVO Hydro Arena (4), and finally, a stop at the 3Arena in Dublin on December 6.

The 9-date tour through November and December will follow a summer of extensive festival shows for Fontaines D.C., which includes performances at Glastonbury , Reading & Leeds , Fuji Rock, Pukkelpop Festival, and more.

The announcement of ‘Romance’ also came with the release of lead single, ‘Starburster’ – a song inspired by frontman Grian Chatten suffering a panic attack and accompanied by a sinister and cinematic video directed by Aube Perrie ( Megan Thee Stallion , Harry Styles , The Hives ).

Reviewing the track, NME noted how the band had “taken a perfect left turn” , adding: “Leaning on the Massive Attack trip-hop noir vibes first hinted at on ‘Skinty Fia’’s title track, ‘Starburster’ is a pensive art-rock beast that fuses elements of electronica and hip-hop more akin to their fellow striking countrymen (and recent collaborators ) KNEECAP .

“Bravado meets psychedelia as the frontman says he’s ‘over harder than a turned up challenger’ and ‘the pig on the Chinese calendar’.” it added. “The video, too – a fever dream of blood, animals and a cast of misfits trying to find their way – further supports their referencing of Shygirl and Sega Bodega as key inspirations.”

Speaking about the title of the album, bassist Conor Deegan said: “We’ve always had this sense of idealism and romance. Each album gets further away from observing that through the lens of Ireland, as directly as ‘ Dogrel ‘. The second album (‘ A Hero’s Death ‘) is about that detachment, and the third is about Irishness dislocated in the diaspora. Now we look to where and what else there is to be romantic about.”

He added: “This record is about deciding what’s fantasy – the tangible world, or where you go in your mind. What represents reality more? That feels almost spiritual for us.”

Since their third album, ‘Skinty Fia’, Fontaines D.C. have also covered Nick Drake’s ‘Cello Song’ for a compilation album .

In December, the band teamed up with Massive Attack and Young Fathers to announce the release of a limited edition 12” single to support Médecins Sans Frontières in their relief efforts in Gaza. The ‘Ceasefire’ EP will arrive on June 1.

Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads.
