The 8,000-square-foot Gibson Garage offers the premier guitar experience for professional musicians, casual guitarists, and music fans. It includes a state-of-the-art stage for live concerts and virtual live-streaming performances; a public retail sector stocked with electric guitars from Gibson, Epiphone, Kramer KRK, and Mesa Boogie brands; a repair & restoration center; as well as historical memorabilia displays.

Experience one of the many attractions at Gibson Garage with a tour of their guitar production plant. On this guided tour, guests witness guitar construction from start to finish and even get an up-close view of the wood shop where imported and domestic lumber is used in crafting guitars.

One of the more fascinating aspects of this factory tour is witnessing the chambering process that goes into creating a guitar’s body. While highly automated, it can also take an immense amount of time. That is why most Gibson guitars have lifetime warranties and are built to last.

On this tour, visitors are treated to the surprise of a room filled with vintage guitars that have lain dormant for years. Not just any old guitars, though – these are some of Gibson’s most prized and sought-after models from its history!

Finally, there is the Artist Lounge, designed as an Artist Relations Center, content creation space, and Green Room for performing artists. Here, Gibson Brand Ambassadors like Jared James Nichols and Lzzy Hale can work and perform in a comfortable atmosphere.

Just bought another Les Paul and love it. It is the Blueberry burst. I would love to check out the factory next time I am in Nashville. The wife and I love Nashville.

I purchased a new 335 custom Gibson from the Garage about a month or so, the experience was wonderful and was treated so kind. I’ve always wanted a 335 and Mat was so helpful and made my purchase so easy. He even had a technician Paul to come put my favorite gauge of strings on and set the guitar up so wonderful. I can’t wait to return and I will soon. Thank you so much Gibson Garage. Benny Voiles

Check out the Gibson Repair & Restoration interview below with Jonathan Blocker, Director of Aftermarket Services at Gibson Brands:

What is the purpose and mission of the Gibson Repair & Restoration Service? Gibson R&R is here to service player’s guitar needs through the lifetime of the instrument. We strive to be the foremost authority on servicing Gibson instruments, regardless of the issue. Our role is taking care of players first and foremost, followed by superior care of our instruments once they are in the hands of our fans.

Where is Gibson Repair & Restoration (R&R) located? Gibson R&R has its own space in Nashville, TN which is also our HQ, but we offer free shipping and insurance for all instruments shipped to us from out-of-state. Even if the player is not in Nashville, they can still take advantage of our services.

What is the difference between Repair and Restoration tasks, if any? A “repair” typically is an acute issue, like a plane, and re-fret job. “Restoration” typically happens with very old vintage instruments that have been found, or neglected guitars that need to be brought back to life for whatever reason.

How many people work at Gibson Repair & Restoration? What kind of qualifications, backgrounds, and experience do they have? Gibson R&R is a truly unique place. Our techs have been with Gibson R&R for decades and come from both the Gibson USA factory and Gibson Custom Shop. Many of our techs are from other companies all over the world, and some have been making their own guitars for years. There are many different backgrounds and methods of repair, what makes Gibson R&R unique is that our leadership team challenges everyone to learn from each other and adopt the best method of repair. We have 10 full time repair technicians that work exclusively on consumer guitars, and we have about 15-20 technicians that refurbish guitars through our Gibson Demo Shop on Reverb: https://reverb.com/shop/gibsondemoshop . It’s not easy to join, and we handpick all of our staff through a rigorous interviewing process. A typical Gibson R&R Tech will have significant guitar repair experience which is different from new guitar build experience. Gibson R&R Techs have typically worked in the industry for 10+ years and know their way around new and vintage instruments. A typical skillset surpasses just a fret level and dress, or pro-setup. Most of our team members are fluent in full and complicated guitar restorations: neck resets, a broken headstock (yes, that is easy to fix), full acoustic structural repairs, and carbon fiber, is handled by our team.

Are the Gibson R&R repairs guaranteed? Is there a warranty on the work? Yes, all repairs from Gibson R&R are covered for the lifetime of the guitar. We are about to release a special card that will go out with all of our Gibson R&R repairs that states this, and we’ve always guaranteed our work at Gibson R&R.

What kind of specific point process do the Gibson R&R craftspeople use to analyze and repair incoming instruments? First off, we determine the size and scope of the repair. We help guide players through what the next steps should be for their instrument. Sometimes the cost of the repair is larger than the value of the guitar, but most of the time there is a real need for repair. Either way, we make sure the consumer is fully informed before shipping. Once we receive the instrument, we will do a deep dive inspection into the specific needs of the guitar. Gibson performs an inspection of 30-35 different points to make sure we capture everything; we use this same point process for the Gibson Demo Shop on Reverb.

Are most of your customers famous musicians, or regular players? I think of everyone as a player. But yes, most of our customers are musicians. We do have a few famous regulars and the occasional uber collector that wants their 1959 Gibson Les Paul tweaked a little. Our team is accustomed to handling all levels of instruments, from the highly valued $100k+ to Les Paul Studios from 2015.

Have any famous guitars come through Gibson R&R? Yes, we get famous instruments. We did work for Garth Brooks on a Gibson that he learned on as a kid; when his Dad passed away his Mom gave him the guitar. We also worked on Jason Aldean’s guitar that was left on stage for a week after the terrible shooting incident in Las Vegas.

What are examples of some of the more challenging projects Gibson R&R has worked on? How did you overcome those challenges? Splintered vintage acoustics are always a challenge. Certain team members are trained to fully deconstruct vintage acoustics and reassemble them using specialized fixtures that we have built over the years. Gunshot guitars are always interesting, as well as anything that requires us to rebuild a structure where one does not exist, but anything is possible with Gibson R&R.

Do you ever see any forgeries come through Gibson R&R - instruments that the owners believed were genuine Gibson guitars, but turned out to be fake? How do you handle those situations? We sometimes do, but it is very rare. Most of our customers know their instrument is genuine, and the good fakes are not as common as people think. We do offer services to identify and certify genuine Gibson instruments. We understand that many times our fans purchase instruments that do not have a Certificate of Authenticity and need to be certified, so we offer that service when needed.

I understand you also offer authentication and valuation services. Is that service usually requested for insurance purposes, or do potential buyers and sellers have instruments authenticated fairly often? A Certificate of Authenticity is typically used to increase the value of the guitar for sale and/or insurance purposes. This service is relatively new for us to offer as an external service, but we are well-versed in it since we have tools at our disposal that most shops do not even know of. To authenticate and evaluate, we will review the age, condition, build quality, and materials used versus the time period of the guitar.

What instruments do you work on, and what types of repairs can you handle? Do you work on instruments from other manufacturers outside of the Gibson Brands family? All kinds of guitars are welcome. Guitars, basses, banjos, Dobro’s, and mandolins--all types, electric and acoustic, and all brands, not just Gibson. We can handle any repair thrown at us including neck resets, full restorations, finish needs, broken headstocks (carbon fiber). We can do just about anything; you would be very surprised at how many guitars we repair that have been victims of a gunshot. We offer the same price and rate for non-Gibson products. Obviously, we want our fans to play our instruments, but we support the craft of guitar playing first and foremost.

Do you service and replace electronic components / do refrets / new fretboards / neck resets / headstock repairs / and paint/refinishes? Yes, electronics can be more complicated than people realize, especially a double neck with four pickups, two switches, two tones, two volumes and a blend - yes, we’ve had one. We have multiple Gibson R&R Techs that specialize in electronics repairs. Re-frets, new fretboards, headstocks, and neck resets are very common. We have a separate, dedicated finish and painting services and we can match various types of genuine factory finishes and period-correct nitrocellulose-sprays depending on the age of the guitar.

Have you ever lost or damaged an instrument that was in Gibson R&R? Gibson R&R has never lost a guitar. Instruments can easily get damaged in shipping if they are not packed correctly, therefore, we offer comprehensive instructions on how to pack the instrument before it is sent in, plus if the player needs it, we can provide them proper packing materials before shipment which costs around $50. However, all shipping to and from our facility is free, and when the consumer ships using our services, they are also covered under our insurance, so they can have peace of mind that their guitar is in good hands.

Why did Gibson decide to create a repair and restoration facility, and what was behind the decision to open up Gibson R&R services to instruments from all brands? Gibson has always recognized that it needed to have a service for post-purchase care. Around mid-2020 we decided to deeply invest in and expand the R&R services with capital, and a vision for the future. Gibson is more than just a manufacturer of beautiful instruments, we are responsible for the experience our players have with our instruments, and we are custodians to the quality of our instruments through their entire lifecycle. Gibson had not been clear about that position in the past.

What are the most common types of damaged instruments that you see, and what can owners do to try to prevent damage? Broken headstocks are fairly common, along with finish and environmental damage. My biggest advice is to service your instrument often, especially if they don’t get played much. Be aware of the environment you are storing your instrument in, especially acoustic instruments. And properly support your headstock in the guitar case when storing your instrument. Some people say to de-tune it to be safe, and that’s a good idea for traveling, but the headstock can still break if not properly supported.

How long has Gibson been doing R&R? The current version of Gibson Repair & Restoration has been around since 2002. However, the original repair shop was around since the early '90s focusing mostly on warranty repairs. All warranty repairs (consumer and dealer) come through our building. Consumer warranty repairs specifically go through the 10 Gibson R&R Techs. However, to start a warranty repair the consumer must get in contact with Gibson customer service.

Have the customers been happy with the final results? Customers are happy when expectations are managed correctly. If you have a vintage acoustic from 1959 that’s been a victim of flooding or sitting in the sun for 10 years, don’t expect it to look factory fresh again for a reasonable price. However, we can bring it to life and get it playing well again and ready to pass down as a family heirloom.

What is the most satisfying aspect of the work you do at Gibson R&R? I am just a team leader, so I can’t speculate how cool it would be to actually work on the instruments. As a leader it is very, very rare to work on a team of people that love what they do as much as this team. I’ve had the honor of helping build this team from only 6 people to the 25+ that we have now. Every person on the Gibson R&R team eats, lives, and breathes guitar perfection and excellence. It’s incredible to see the effectiveness of a group with such talent.

Nashville's Gibson Garage Is a Must-See Guitar Experience for All Music Fans

T he iconic guitar brand's flagship Nashville location has attracted icons such as actor Michael J. Fox and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin

A stop at the Gibson Garage is a must for any music lover rolling through Nashville.

The world-renowned guitar brand’s flagship location, designed by Director of Brand Experience and Gibson TV producer Mark Agnesi , opened in 2021. Speaking with PEOPLE on a VIP tour of the venue, Agnesi reveals a secret vault with some of the rarest guitars in the world and shares some of famous faces who have stopped by while in Music City, including Michael J. Fox and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin.

“Every Gibson electric is made in Nashville and every acoustic is crafted in Bozeman, Montana,” Agnesi explains. This has to do with the climate of those two places, as acoustics can largely be affected by swings in temperature, along with humidity.

Starting off in the main showroom, Agnesi shows off one of the location’s major highlights. “There are 200 guitars that go around the space,” he shares of the Garage’s guitars rotating overhead. “This is how the guitars come out after finishing at our factory.”

Instead of trying to line the walls with guitars “like every other guitar store in the world,” Agnesi says they decided on the conveyer.

There are another 200 guitars scattered throughout the space, which also features a custom shop. “Everything is nicely organized. And everything’s for sale.”

Agnesi points out Miranda Lambert ’s new signature guitar model, the Bluebird, “which is based on the Hummingbird, but she also has a song called ‘Bluebird.’ so that served as the inspiration.”

Chris Stapleton ’s signature model came out earlier this year, along with an Elvis Presley signature model.

“Many of our guitars are bird-themed,” Agnesi explains. “We had a woodworker in the 1960s who was an avid birdwatcher, so there’s the Bluebird, the Hummingbird, the Dove, the Sparrow, the Blackbird, the Raven.”

The brand dates back to 1894 when it was founded by Orville Gibson, who began making instruments in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Gibson will celebrate its 130th anniversary in 2024.

Over 125 years later, the Gibson Garage in Nashville is the “only place in the world where a customer can come and hand-select wood to create their own customized Les Paul,” Agnesi says, noting that there will be two locations once the Gibson Garage in London opens up early next year.

“A lot of what we do are very historic recreations of very specific guitars by year,” he says, pointing out Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett ’s model. “This is his 1960 Sunburst Les Paul , known as ‘Sunny.' “

As for notable names who have stopped in, Darius Rucker performed last summer to benefit the National Museum of African American Music and Megadeth rocker Dave Mustaine did a signing in June for veterans through Gibson's philanthropic division, Gibson Gives.

“My two favorites I’ve given tours to are Robert Plant — on the anniversary of Led Zeppelin VI coming out,” Agnesi shares of the legendary performer, who is affectionately known as "Uncle Bob" to those in his inner circle.

Agnesi's other all-time favorite? Michael J. Fox , who was in town in May for an event held at Belmont University to raise funds for Parkinson’s disease research.

“Michael J. Fox is the reason I started playing guitar as a kid,” Agnesi fondly recalls.

“I was out there and there was a little bit of commotion in the acoustic room and I see him sitting there playing ‘Johnny B. Goode’ on the Hummingbird,” which is the same song Fox played as Marty McFly in the 1985 cult classic film Back to the Future , the exact pop culture moment that inspired Agnesi.

For the four years it has been posted to Universal’s YouTube page, the iconic guitar scene has garnered over 60 million views.

Though musicians and VIPs are often entertained in the private artist's lounge, where the secret "Vault" protecting rare guitars collectively worth millions is located, the rest of the Gibson Garage is open to the public.

Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from juicy celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.

Guests can peruse its wooden works of art and try out their guitar skills even if they're not ready to buy. The store also features a ton of Gibson brand merch to scoop up for souvenirs on the way out.

The 8,000-square-foot space, which is open from 11 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and noon to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, offers intimate live music performances and events daily. It is also available to book for private events bound to impress any music-loving guest.

  • Introducing the Gibson Slash “Jessica” Les Paul Standard

The Gibson Global Ambassador’s number-one touring guitar for Guns N’ Roses and beyond—welcome to the collaboration

In tandem with the iconic guitarist Slash, Gibson introduces a welcome addition to its line of Les Paul™ guitars: the Slash “Jessica” Les Paul Standard in Honey Burst with Red Back . This guitar is a piece of rock ’n’ roll history reborn—a new model based on Slash’s battle-worn favorite.

At its core, the new “Jessica” features a non-weight-relieved mahogany body topped with a three-piece plain maple top, mirroring the original’s construction for authentic Les Paul mojo. The guitar’s neck is crafted from mahogany, shaped into the 50s Vintage profile, offering comfort and playability reminiscent of the golden era of rock.

Its sonic signature, powered by a pair of Custom Burstbucker ™ pickups with Alnico 2 magnets, truly sets this guitar apart. The electronics, including Orange Drop® capacitors, are meticulously hand-wired and deliver a range of tones, from clean, articulate sounds to the gritty, overdriven tones Slash is known for: “Welcome To The Jungle,” “Paradise City,” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” just to name a few.

For new tracks from Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators, check out Gibson TV’s documentary on the making “4,” their latest album. As a vibrant rock album fueled by memorable guitar hooks and compelling melodies, “4” is full of big choruses and even bigger riffs—recorded at the iconic RCA Studio A in Nashville. The first release on  Gibson Records , the work is Slash’s fifth solo album and fourth with this band, featuring Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums), Todd Kerns (bass & vocals), and Frank Sidoris (guitar & vocals).

Slash is currently in the midst of a global tour with his group Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators in support of “4.” Last month, Slash announced he would officially release his sixth solo album, a star-studded blues record titled Orgy of the Damned , on May 17, 2024, via Gibson Records (Firebird Music distribution).

The legacy of “Jessica”

Since 1988, “Jessica” has been more than just a guitar; it has symbolized Slash’s dynamic presence on stage with Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver, and Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. The original “Jessica” was one of the two Les Pauls Gibson sent to Slash in the late 1980s, quickly becoming his main stage guitar. Its story and transformation from a factory second to a rock icon are testaments to the magic that happens when an instrument truly becomes part of an artist’s persona.

The Gibson Slash “Jessica” Les Paul Standard faithfully recreates this storied guitar—check out Gibson TV’s episode with Slash as he opens case after case of iconic instruments, including the original “Jessica,” revealing the wear and tear that comes from prolonged love for a guitar. Developed in close cooperation with Slash himself, this new model is designed to replicate the feel and sound of the legendary guitar with modern craftsmanship and quality—the gigging scars are up to you.

An excerpt from the book, The Collection: Slash , available in three editions from Gibson Publishing , tells us more:

“This guitar has been with me since 1988,” says Slash when asked about the Les Paul Standard that’s been his number-one live guitar for more than three decades. “It’s faded, I fucking dropped a cigarette on it … I named it when I was drunk, but I don’t remember what the catalyst for that was!”

gibson custom shop tour nashville

On the road with Guns in the late 1980s, Slash decided to retire his Kris Derrig and Max Baranet Les Paul replicas. He called Gibson and they sent two guitars with three-piece tops that were factory seconds.

“Both of ’em were pretty identical, with a bright Cherry Sunburst,” he recalls. “I started using those on the road for a while, then I had them refinished so that they were a little duller. And that became my main stage guitar and the backup all the way through Guns N’ Roses and on through Velvet Revolver, and now with Guns again.”

Mostly used live for Appetite For Destruction songs and a handful from the Use Your Illusion era, Slash says Jessica is a great and unique-sounding instrument: “I take a lot of guitars out on the road but this still has a very specific sound compared to all the other Les Pauls I have out there.”

Playability and details

The 50s Vintage neck profile is a nod to the classic Les Pauls Slash admired and played throughout his career. It is designed for players who prefer a more substantial neck, providing a comfortable and inspiring experience.

Slash’s signature is reproduced on the truss rod cover, Schaller Strap Locks are preinstalled for secure performance, and the included hardshell case houses a collection of extras, such as a Slash pick set, a USA leather strap, a multi-tool, and a blank truss rod cover.

Beyond its specifications, the Slash “Jessica” Les Paul Standard is a bridge between the past and present. Its Honey Burst with Red Back finish, a nod to Slash’s refinishing of the original, adds a unique visual element that sets it apart from other Les Paul models.

Moscow Metro

Introduction of moscow subway system (metro).

Richly Decorated Central Hall of Novokuznetskaya Station

Nowadays the Moscow Metro has 12 lines, light subway and monorail. All stations are unique and beautiful in their own way. Unfortunately, in order to visit them all, you need to spend many days. I invite guests to visit the ones that have the greatest cultural and historical interest from my point of view. Among them are the Revolution Square, Arbatskaya, Kievskaya (Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line № 3); Kievskaya, Belarusskaya, Novoslobodskaya, Komsomolskaya (the Ring line number 5). Let us dwell a bit on each.

Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line

Subway station "revolution square".

Sign “Ploshchad Revolyutsii” in Archway with Bronze Figures

Most recently - in the year 2008-2010 – the Eastern lobby was renovated. Because of the terrorist attacks in the Moscow subway that took place several hours before the planned opening of the East lobby after renovation, the solemn part of the event was canceled.

Subway station Arbatskaya

Subway Arbatskaya is located on the same subway line as the station "Revolution Square." It was founded in 1953. It received the name in honor of the Arbat Street. It has one ground lobby (Western). Initially, the lobby was in a separate building, but the new building of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense started, the lobby appeared to be in its atrium. The old exits were bricked up; a new entrance was built into the building of General Staff of the street Vozdvizhenka. There is a huge frame with a missing portrait in the ground lobby - until mid-1950 there was a portrait of Stalin. According to some reports, it survived, but closed with plaster.

The lobby was restored and partially reconstructed in 2007-2008.

The depth of the station is 41 meters.

Pylons are finished with red marble at the bottom, decorated with bouquets of flowers made from ceramics. The floor is laid out with gray granite. The walls lined with glazed ceramic tiles, white top and black bottom. The station hall is illuminated by massive bronze chandeliers in the form of rings.

Subway station Kievskaya

There are several subway stations "Kievskaya" in Moscow, located on different branches. This name is quite popular. It comes from the capital of Ukraine - one of Russia's nearest neighbors - the city of Kiev. The name is fully consistent with the idea of the subway station. The interior the station devoted to Soviet Ukraine and the reunification of Ukraine and Russia. The station is decorated with a large number of paintings .Twenty four murals depicting workers of Soviet Ukraine are placed on the arch above the pylons. The wall from the side of platform also contains frescos, mainly with images of fantastic plants. Pylons are decorated with light marble and additionally decorated with colorful ceramic cornice. The butt of the station has a large mosaic, depicting festivities to celebrate the 300 anniversary of the reunification of Ukraine and Russia.

Opened in 1953, this subway station for a long time was the final (1953-2003).

The station has one lobby, combined with the station ring line and located in the building of the Kievskaya railway station. The diameter of the central hall station is 9.5 m, the diameter of side one is 8.5 m. The depth of the station is 38 meters.

= Ring Line Subway =

It opened in 1954. The station received its name after the Kiev station, and locked the Ring line. During the construction of the station many projects were proposed, but the victory in the competition won the Kiev architects who made the construction of the station. It is the only station of the Ring Line which is not located in the Central Administrative District of Moscow.

The station has a pylon structure. Eighteen pylons are decorated with mosaic panels of glazes, decorated on the theme of Ukrainian history and friendship between the Ukrainian and Russian peoples, which started in the mid-17 century.

On the front wall of the central hall of the station a large panel with molding in the form of flags and a mosaic portrait of Lenin in the center are located. There are lines of the Soviet national anthem around the portrait, and under the portrait - the words of Lenin. One of the ways out of the station was designed by French architects modeled on the Paris Subway in 2006.

At one of the mosaics – “The Struggle for Soviet power in Ukraine "- modern passengers observe a mobile phone and PDA in the hand of one of the guerrillas, and on his knees - a laptop. In fact, he uses a field telephone, which was really a heavy thing (guerrillas holds it in two hands), and thing that people see a laptop is the lid of a box with a telephone. However, these phones have begun to produce only in the second half of the 20-ies of XX century. We must assume that the mosaic depicts a foreign field telephone transmitter.

Subway station Belorusskaya

The founded of the station was in 1952. It received the name after the Belarusian railway station nearby. The station has two ground-based lobbies. The Western one goes to Tverskaya  Zastava. It is decorated with beautiful carvings. The Eastern one leads to Butyrskiy shaft and Forest Street. The Eastern lobby is known for its majolica panels.

The station Belorusskaya is located at a depth of 42.5 m below ground. The diameter of the central hall is 9.5 meters.

Pylons are faced with light marble. The walls lined with white ceramic tiles, the floor is covered with ceramic tiles, gray, white and red colors. Lamps placed on pylons, in the form of vases made of glass and marble. The theme of decoration is economy and culture of Belarus. Decorative pattern on the floor repeats the theme of traditional Belarusian embroidery. Decorations of the ceiling consist of stucco decorations and 12 mosaic panels depicting the life of the Belarusian people.

Subway station Novoslobodskaya

Built in 1952, Subway station Novoslobodskaya got its name from the eponymous street:  the station is located at the very beginning of it.

Novoslobodskaya is pylon station of deep foundation (its depth is 40 m) with three arches.

Exit to the street is through the ground lobby with column portico, located on Novoslobodskaya Street lined with gray marble. Pylons of the underground station are faced with marble from the Urals. Thirty two spectacularly illuminated stained-glasses, placed inside the pylon and bordered by steel and gilt brass are splendid decoration of the station. A remarkable mosaic "World Peace" is located at the end of the central hall. The picture depicts a happy mother with a baby in her arms; it was the face of Stalin at the picture: the child gave a hand to him. But in times of Khrushchev the face of the former leader of USSR was removed from the panel. The walls are lined with bright marble; floor is covered with white and black granite slabs, placed in a checkerboard pattern.

Subway station Komsomolskaya

The station was built in 1952 and named in honor of the Komsomolskaya Square, which is situated nearby.

This subway station is the station of the deep bedding. Its depth is 37 meters. The station has column and three- arched design. Cast iron decoration is used in the construction, monolithic slab used as a tray for a collapsible finishing. The length of the boarding hall is 190 meters; width of it is 10 meters. There are 68 octagonal columns at station.

The main theme of the interior of the station is the fighting of the Russian people for their independence. The ceiling is decorated with eight station mosaic mural made from glazes and precious stones. Six of them represent the Alexander Nevsky, Dmitry Donskoy, Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky, Alexander Suvorov and Mikhail Kutuzov, the Soviet soldiers and officers at the walls of the Reichstag.

Two other panels, depicting Stalin ("Victory Parade" and "Presentation of the Guards Banner"), were replaced after the dethronement of Stalin's personality cult in 1963. New panels depict Lenin's speech in front of the Red Guards and the Motherland on the background of the Kremlin's Spasskaya Tower.

The yellow ceiling is decorated with mosaic and moldings. The hall is illuminated by massive chandeliers hanging between the panels; platforms are illuminated with smaller chandeliers. The columns are decorated with marble capitals and trimmed with light marble, as well as the wall station. The floor is laid with pink granite. There is a bust of Lenin at the end of the hall. At the opposite end of the escalator is a large Florentine mosaic of the Order of Victory with red banners on the background. The ground lobby of the station is decorated with bas-reliefs.

In conclusion...

Each of the stations of the Moscow subway is attractive and interesting in its own way. Each has its own long and fascinating history and is beautifully decorated. The Moscow subway is a whole world, which can be talking about for hours. I suggest you short - no more than one hour and a half - and a fascinating journey through the world of the Moscow subway. The pleasure is guaranteed!

In the early morning rush hour, two women bearing suicide weapons blasted themselves in the subway trains of the Moscow Metro.
  • The Best Redesign of Moscow Metropolitan Map 2013 Russia's leading internet and graphic design agency has won an online vote for the best redesign of the Moscow Metro map. Art.
