ABOUT GUNS N’ ROSES:

Guns N’ Roses endure as the most dynamic, dangerous, and definitive American rock band in history to this day. Embedded in popular culture, their landmark diamond-selling 1987 opus, Appetite For Destruction , stands out as “the best-selling U.S. debut album ever” and “the 11 th best-selling U.S. album of all time, ” while their Not In This Lifetime… Tour (2016-2019) ranked as the “fourth-highest grossing concert tour of all time . ” During 1991, Guns N’ Roses shook the world with the one-two punch of the 7x-platinum Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II , clinching the top two spots of the Billboard 200 upon arrival. With total sales of 100 million units thus far, their catalog also consists of G N’ R Lies (5x-platinum), The Spaghetti Incident? (platinum), Greatest Hits (5x-platinum), and Chinese Democracy (platinum). Not to mention, they are one of the most-streamed rock bands in the world with an average of 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Following the reunion of the century, they headlined Coachella and sold 5 million-plus tickets on the Not In This Lifetime… Tour . However, Guns N’ Roses never stop with more touring on the horizon in 2023 and other surprises—the “Nightrain” keeps rolling at full speed.

Guns N’ Roses are Axl Rose (vocals, piano), Duff McKagan (bass), Slash (lead guitar), Dizzy Reed (keyboard), Richard Fortus (rhythm guitar), Frank Ferrer (drums), and Melissa Reese (keyboard).

The new tour dates leave a gap on the week of Glastonbury 2023 , with bassist Duff McKagan seemingly confirming in a recent interview that the band will play the Worthy Farm event this year.

The hard rockers have been  heavily rumoured  to play 2023’s edition of the festival, which has  so far only revealed one headliner in Elton John .

While discussing the summer plans, McKagan discussed the London show, then adding: “…and Glastonbury is gonna be iconic.” He offered no further explanation.

Aside from Elton John, no other acts have yet been confirmed for Glastonbury 2023.  eFestivals ‘ line-up page currently lists  Arctic Monkeys  as the rumoured remaining headliner. The first wave of artists traditionally arrives around March.

GUNS N' ROSES released a new four-song EP, "Hard Skool" , in February 2022. Guns N’ Roses Announce Huge 2023 World Tour

Back to prove there's no such thing as too much of a good thing, Guns N' Roses have just announced a huge 2023 world tour.

It's been seven years since Slash and Duff McKagan simultaneously rejoined the group and Guns N' Roses remain one of the biggest (and one of the most lucrative ) concert draws in the world with Axl Rose , Dizzy Reed , Richard Fortus , Frank Ferrer and Melissa Reese rounding out the lineup.

See all of the upcoming tour dates further down the page. Tickets go on sale on Feb. 24 at 10AM local time here  and look for presale tickets to be made available starting Feb. 22 at 10AM local time.

This year has already been quite notable for GN'R and Rose, especially when it comes to the  Use Your Illusion   I  hit song "November Rain." At Lisa Marie Presley 's memorial service, Rose performed a vocal and piano rendition of the track and, three weeks later, the "November Rain" YouTube video surpassed two billion views , becoming the first '90s rock song to achieve that milestone.

Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg and his proper horrorshow burlap mask. On the right is the devilishly handsome Jay Weinberg without his mask. Weinberg joined Slipknot in 2014 replacing the departing Joey Jordison, who sadly passed away in 2021.

Slipknot’s Sid Wilson unmasked

Slipknot turntablist #0 Sid Wilson's mask dramatically changed in 2019 from his more traditional skull and gas masks to an almost Palpatine -esque deformed human mask with black robes. On the right is Sid Wilson without his mask at the premiere of Slipknot: Day Of The Gusano in Beverly Hills.

Limp Bizkit’s Wes Borland unmasked and without makeup

Chameleon-like Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland is constantly coming up with brilliant new looks for the band's live shows. Fusing a mask with crudely painted make-up, this brilliantly disturbing guise is like a cross between Salvador Dali, The Joker and a demented aristocrat. Here is Wes Borland without his mask and makeup at a photoshoot in 2017.

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor unmasked

Slipknot singer #8 Corey Taylor's guise evolved into a sinister translucent mask in 2019. As the frontman of Stone Sour - and arguably the most famous member of Slipknot to boot - unless you've been living under a rock for the past two decades, you'll be well aware of what Corey Taylor looks like without his mask.

GWAR’s Blothar unmasked

Following the untimely death of singer Oderus Urungus (aka Dave Brockie) in 2014, GWAR recruited Blothar - aka Michael Bishop – as their new frontman who comes complete with a pigface goblin guise. On the right is Blothar without his mask and outlandish costume speaking at a TED Talk in 2015.

Slipknot’s Alessandro Venturella unmasked

Slipknot bassist Alessandro "Alex" Venturella's mask changed from a hessian fabric mask into patterned copper mask in 2019. The genial-looking chap on the right is Alessandro Venturella without his mask.

KISS’s Paul Stanley unmasked and without makeup

Alongside Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley has been a member of KISS since their inception in 1973 and his alter ego The Starchild has remained a constant all this time.

Slipknot’s Jim Root unmasked

Slipknot guitarist #4 Jim Root has worn a Jester mask for the entirety of his career with only minor changes in its design. Why change perfection?! Jim Root is immediately identifiable even without his mask thanks to his luscious, voluminous beard.

Behemoth’s Nergal unmasked and without makeup

One of the standout Main Stage acts at Download Festival 2019, Polish blackened death metallers Behemoth – led by the fearsome lead vocalist Nergal – have always adorned striking make-up on stage creating an enigmatic aura. On the right is Adam Nergal Darski without makeup at an album signing session.

Ex-Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn unmasked

Before he exited Slipknot in somewhat acrimonious circumstances in April 2019, #3 Chris Fehn wore a distinctive Liar Mask – aka the Pinocchio Mask. On the right is the Chris Fehn without his mask at the premiere of Shawn Clown Crahan's movie 'Officer Downe' in 2016.

KISS’s Gene Simmons unmasked and without makeup

On stage and wearing his trademark makeup, Gene Simmons adopts The Demon persona.

KISS’s Eric Singer unmasked and without makeup

Following the death of the late-great Eric Carr in 1991, new drummer Eric Singer didn't adopt his The Fox persona; instead he resurrected original drummer Peter Criss' The Catman guise.

KISS’s Tommy Thayer unmasked and without makeup

Joining KISS permanently in 2002, Tommy Thayer jumped straight into Ace Frehley's platform heels and took on his The Spaceman makeup design.

Ghost Nameless Ghoul unmasked

In March 2017, a Swedish musician called Martin Persner shared a video claiming he was formerly a Nameless Ghoul in Ghost called Omega. He left the band in July 2016 after a seven-year stint.

Slipknot’s Tortilla Man unmasked

When Tortilla Man replaced percussionist Chris Fehn in 2019, Slipknot kept his identity shrouded in mystery. It didn't take fans long, however, to suss out that Tortilla Man was Michael Pfaff, the keyboardist for M. Shawn 'Clown' Crahan's side project Dirty Little Rabbits.

Idk what to say...

Blackstar

Likely another tour. It will depend and on what Slash's plans are. At this point it doesn't seem that Slash has any plans with SMKC, at least for the near future - he had announced a European tour for the first months of 2023 (and then probably South America, Asia and Australia), but this tour is not happening. Unless SMKC does a European festival tour in the summer, which means that GN'R either won't tour at all or only play a limited number of shows.

They are gonna go dead silent until they announce the "North American 2023 We are fn' coming tour" (smaller venues, same setlist), they'll go on from October to December, and then, announce another "Fn'" European and Latin American (Mexico,Br,Argentina) tour, starting 2024, same setlist as well, then repeat it all again (US 2025) and so on.

Nothing was announced, just hinted at. What makes you think it won't be happening?

Based on the last album cycle, there's a good chance we'll see SMKC in Europe after the Alter Bridge tour wraps

No thats Kiss. They've not long added more shows to the EotR tour. Let's not forget the Farewell tour they done previously

axl666

I wouldn't read anything into not touring Europe this year. Venues will likely not be open because of energy prices. It might also be too expensive to drive. So if Slash has cancelled tour, that's why.

Tours, tours and more tours. Then a few more tours.

Then when they've done that, a Vegas residency. Then some tours.

Jw224

Nothing, or something, more likely nothing.

Original

Vegas residency.   Something like Def Leppard did at Zappos Theatre.  Vegas is an easy in n out so Axl could buzz home to CA between shows.

James Bond

They're going to tour in support of the tour that they're currently touring.

Of course there was no official announcement with dates etc., but Slash did announce that that was the plan (European tour in the beginning of 2023), it wasn't just a hint. And that tour isn't happening. That's all that I said.

That's not an 'announcement' though. And how do you know it isn't happening? There's been no official word on whether or not there will be a tour

Yeah I wonder what happened behind the scenes with SMKC.

On topic; we will probably still get the UYI box and maybe another cd2 leftover track or two, but that’s probably it. Aside from that there will be more touring in smaller venues and then eventually a Vegas residency, as others here are saying.

Taylor Swift Is Not Attending the 2024 Met Gala to Focus on European Tour Dates

Swift kicks off her Europe tour in Paris on May 9

Melody Chiu is an Executive Editor at PEOPLE overseeing music, events and emerging content. She has been with the brand since 2009, editing, writing and reporting across all entertainment verticals. She has written cover stories on Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Melissa McCarthy, Blake Shelton, Jordan Turpin and Sandra Oh. The Los Angeles native graduated from the University of Southern California and has appeared on Extra! , The Talk, Access Hollywood and Good Morning America .

Taylor Swift is skipping the 2024 Met Gala , PEOPLE can confirm.

Despite reports that she would be attending , the singer, who just dropped her Tortured Poets Department album on April 19, is sitting out fashion's biggest night. Instead, she'll be focusing on rehearsals and tour prep ahead of her Eras Tour dates picking back up on May 9 in Paris before traveling all over Europe during the spring and summer.

The Met Gala, which always takes place on the first Monday in May, will be held on May 6, which would have been a tight squeeze ahead of the tour for Swift, 34.

Emma McIntyre/TAS23/Getty

TMZ previously reported that Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, would not be attending the Met Gala this year.

Swift has already attended the prestigious night six times (her most recent appearance was in 2016) while Kelce has yet to make his debut at the prestigious event.

The Grammy winner has had a huge couple of weeks, following the release of The Tortured Poets Department as she prepares to head back out on tour. She has taken over the Billboard chart (again!), has seen her album rack up 1 billion Spotify streams in a week and emotionally shared glowing reviews for her work .

No big deal, right?

John Shearer/Getty

While there’s going to be a blank space with Swift absent, the Met Gala is sure to bring out all the heavy hitters in fashion.

This year’s theme is centered on the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, which will feature approximately 250 items — including 15 significant pieces such as an 1877 Charles Frederick Worth silk satin ball gown — that span over 400 years of history. “It is very much an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion,” said Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of the Costume Institute.

Expectedly, the dress code is themed “The Garden of Time” and is inspired by J.G. Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name. The story follows a count and countess living “in their utopia of leisure, art, and beauty,” as noted by Vogue , who predicts that stars will show up in ensembles paying homage to florals, music and time.

John Lamparski/Getty

Zendaya , Jennifer Lopez , Chris Hemsworth and Bad Bunny will lead the pack as the four co-chairs of the night. Despite the Met Gala being a few weeks away, some of them have yet to finalize their looks (who can blame them, it’s a lot of pressure).

The Challengers actress, an already five-time attendee (her insane Cinderella transformations on the famous steps is simply unforgettable) told Vanity Fair recently that she still doesn’t “really know” what she’s wearing, but she has “ideas.”

Meanwhile, the This is Me…Now singer is still ruminating over a few potentials. “I have a few different sketches. I’m still deciding,” Lopez told Vogue this week. “I’m also one of those people who chooses at the last minute. Like, I like choices, and then I go, ‘Okay, this is how I feel today,’ and then we try to kinda create some type of amazing look — ‘cause that is the night for looks!”

Lawrence Rothman in black clothing leaning on a car

‘Bowie told me it’s OK to be messy’: the starry life and strife of singer-songwriter Lawrence Rothman

They’ve played with everyone from Lucinda Williams to a pre-fame Billie Eilish. Now, on their intensely personal new album, they confront the trauma of being pistol-whipped and dealing with an eating disorder

L awrence Rothman has lived a lot of lives: in the early aughts, they performed under the name Lillian Berlin in the ultra-political hard rock band Living Things. They’ve been a model, posing with Kate Moss in a 2008 Roberto Cavalli ad; and with their wife, Floria Sigismondi, director of The Runaways , in i-D magazine. Kim Gordon, Lucinda Williams and a pre-fame Billie Eilish are just some of their collaborators. And on their debut solo album, 2017’s The Book of Law, they explored nine alter egos, each with distinct personas and visual identities, through flamboyant, off-kilter pop.

With the release of 2021’s Good Morning America, they switched gears into sun-scorched country, a mode that continues on their third album, The Plow That Broke the Plains: an intense, upsetting, starkly personal record. “To bear things inside of myself that are uncomfortable, it felt weirdly easier for me to do it in a singer-songwriter setting,” they say. “In an experimental setting, the lyric is hidden in math, and you haven’t purged it from yourself. I had a lot of purging I had to do on this record.”

That choice of words is depressingly apt: much of The Plow That Broke the Plains chronicles a period post-pandemic in which the 41-year-old realised they had “a borderline eating disorder” and had developed a dependency on laxatives and diet supplements. The beginnings of that realisation come through vividly on the morbidly catchy Drugstore Bummin’: “Under fluorescent light I’m looking like I’m twice my age / I can see every bone in my ribcage.”

Rothman, who was born in Missouri and is based in LA, decided to record the entirety of The Plow That Broke the Plains in Nashville, Tennessee. Early on in the writing process, they were taken to hospital with “some very kind of severe stomach thing,” which revealed the extent of their eating disorder. They decided to change their behaviour immediately. “I’m very cold turkey like that when some major event happens – I didn’t need any sort of sit-down from family members. There was some talk, there was the hospital, then next day, I woke up and I never went back to it.”

Rothman says they’ve always been a “love yourself, love every flaw” type of person – so it was confronting to come to terms with the fact that they had been obsessing over their own weight and image. “It’s uncomfortable and embarrassing to say, but social media and the world around us sort of dictate these ways to look and act, and you can get caught up in that. One wrong picture of yourself from a weird angle and you might think there’s a problem with the way you look. If you’re sensitive about that, you could start doing dangerous things to your body, which is exactly what I was doing.”

Shortly after their stint in the emergency room, Rothman wrote LAX, a sweeping song about giving up laxatives that doubles as a resigned breakup ballad. “The dichotomy of it being about an old love in LA and about laxatives at the same time just felt really amusing, but very, very truthful too,” they say. “Addictions can lead to your loved ones disappearing – not everybody wants to hang out with somebody who has a problem, no matter how much they love you.”

The honesty of LAX pervades the rest of The Plow That Broke the Plains, which unearths other traumatic events from Rothman’s life. The chugging, sneering Poster Child, written with their friend Jason Isbell, includes mention of an incident in July 2003 when Rothman was pistol-whipped and shot at after a Living Things show in Dallas, Texas. “I had makeup on, and I was dressed how I wanted to be dressed, and certain folks in the crowd did not like that,” they say. (At the time, it was reported that the assault was by members of the National Guards who disagreed with Living Things’ stance against then US president George Bush.) “It was a severely traumatic experience, and [our label] spread it to all sorts of press at the time, and I was mortified because I really, truly didn’t want other people coming to the shows or giving them ideas to go to other artists’ shows where it’s like, if you don’t agree with what they’ve presented on stage, you can go shoot them or kick their ass.”

Lawrence Rothman standing in front of a wooden house in the moonlight

More broadly, Poster Child’s refrain of “We can use that” lampoons the music industry’s desire to profit from the trauma of artists – a mechanism Rothman says they’ve encountered numerous times. “When you’re young and you’re naive, companies can kind of take advantage of your traumas in a way that you [don’t] really understand the outcome of,” they say. “My first band was on a couple different major labels and had a lot of major management companies behind us, and they totally took advantage of us, they misguided us.”

In recent years, Rothman has been releasing music independently via their own label, KRO Records; while they say they “don’t really fit into a scene”, they have forged strong relationships with artists like the country singer Amanda Shires, who credits Rothman with reinvigorating her love of music after a period in which she thought she might quit.

She is one of many musicians who have affected Rothman’s art. Rothman’s wife, Floria, a film and music video director, worked closely with David Bowie; in 2013, Bowie visited Rothman’s studio and was one of the first people to hear their debut solo single, Montauk Fling. It was a formative moment for Rothman. “He gave me the self-confidence to just present all the versions of yourself, and [said] it’s OK to be messy about it,” Rothman recalls. Bowie encouraged them to “hop around, follow the inspired moment”, and switch genres at will if inspiration strikes. “He said those words to me in 2013, and it really has stuck with me for the last 11 years.”

Later, Rothman would cross paths with a future pop luminary: while working on The Book of Law, producer Justin Raisen enlisted a then unknown teen singer named Billie Eilish to sing backing vocals on the song Geek, alongside Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses on bass and Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs on guitar. “It was an uncredited accident – before she even had a record deal,” Rothman says of Eilish. “I legitimately loved the way it sounded. And then she obviously became who she is today, which is one of the greatest singers of all time.”

Lawrence Rothman posing in the desert among broken motorbike frames.

Geek is the kind of cross-genre, cross-scene experiment that Rothman loves; they say that their dream collaboration would involve “King Krule, Sampha, Lucinda Williams and Vince Gill all singing a song together. I just don’t see lines with that stuff.” The Plow That Broke the Plains already boasts an impressive collaborator list: aside from Isbell and Shires, the album also features acclaimed folk singer-songwriter SG Goodman, who duets with Rothman on the fiery R Blood, which rages against anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in America. They describe the track as “very emotion based”, as opposed to the kind of protest song a singer like Isbell or Neil Young might write. “I think in today’s time, it’s actually more dangerous to be LGBTQ in some parts of America than it was maybe even 10 years ago,” they say. “I don’t think that it’s getting any better, and that’s a really sad reality.”

They take some solace in knowing that a younger, more empathic generation, to which their 19-year-old daughter belongs, will soon be in power. “My daughter’s generation is like some of the most beautiful humans that have ever walked the planet. The rules and the hang-ups that all the other generations have just don’t apply to them,” they say. “When that world is finally leaders and government officials, I think at that point it won’t be utopia, but it’ll be much better than it is today.”

Cheapest destinations to see Taylor Swift concerts from 'Eras Tour' abroad

Are you a Florida Swiftie with “Eras Tour” FOMO?

It’s definitely too late to find a ticket to Taylor Swift’s October concerts in Miami for less than $2,000.

But you can see an “Eras Tour” show in Warsaw, Poland, on Aug. 1, 2024, for about $500 cheaper than the cheapest concert ticket for a Miami show in October (including a roundtrip plane ticket to Poland, from Miami ).

Travel website Islands.com just released a study on the cheapest overseas destinations for seeing Miss Americana on the European leg of her tour.

To calculate the cheapest overseas shows on Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” this summer, Islands.com aggregated data on each city to find the average most affordable concert tickets, the average cost for two days of spending on hotel rooms, meals, drinks and transportation in each city and each city's safety score.

Does Taylor Swift perform in Poland?

Yes! Taylor Swift will be performing for three nights in Warsaw, from Thursday, Aug. 1, through Saturday, Aug. 3.

The cheapest ticket to see Taylor Swift perform in Warsaw, Poland in August is about $1,500 cheaper than the cheapest ticket to catch one of her Miami shows in October.

As of April, via Google Flights, you can buy a roundtrip plane ticket from Miami to Warsaw (with two layovers) for around $800 .

Add that $800 plane ticket to the around $500 it will cost for a concert ticket and the extra $200 to $300 you’ll spend in two days of visiting Warsaw, and the grand total comes out to a maximum of around $1,600, which is still $400 cheaper than the cheapest ticket to a Miami show.
