When Do Kerry Washington Tickets Go On Sale?

Tickets for Kerry Washington go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 23rd at 10am local time.

Fans can also access an artist presale that opens on Wednesday, June 21st at 10am local time.

A VIP Meet & Greet presale will also begin on Wednesday, June 21st at 10am local time. Get the Kerry Washington presale code and presale time below.

What Is The Kerry Washington Presale Code?

Fans can access Kerry Washington book tour tickets early through an artist presale.

Artist Presale

The artist presale starts Wednesday, June 21st at 10am local time through Thursday, June 22nd at 10pm.

First, you should select your preferred Kerry Washington tour date and bookmark the page for easy access later on. Information regarding access to the artist presale has yet to be officially announced, though we recommend texting the phone number located in Washington’s Instagram bio and signing up.

VIP Meet & Greet Presale

There will also be a VIP Meet & Greet presale that opens Wednesday, June 21st at 10am local time and ends Thursday, June 22nd at 10pm. We recommend bookmarking your desired tour date and following the same steps as the artist presale, text and sign-up via the phone number in Washington’s Instagram bio to potentially receive more information on presale access.

Pro Tips When Buying Your Tickets

First, on the day of the presale or general onsale (whichever you prefer), login to your Ticketmaster account ( go to my account or sign in located on the upper right corner of the page ) at least 15 minutes ahead of the sale time. If you don’t have one,  create one now .

Be sure to add your billing info (aka credit card info) before jumping into the digital queue for a quick check-out. Once the presale starts, remain in the digital queue. Only use one browser window because using multiple browsers or devices and multiple accounts with the same phone number can result in errors. Trust, it’s happened to us before! Don’t refresh your page, do be patient, don’t leave your page, do get those tickets!

What To Do If Tickets Are Sold Out?

If tickets sell out, your other option is to buy them via online resellers like VividSeats or StubHub. When all else fails, we prefer these resell options because both offer a 100% Guarantee. You can also purchase resell tickets through Ticketmaster’s resell program. Just search for the concert or event you want to attend , and see if they have any resell tickets available. We recommend you compare the three options and find out which works best for you.

Alternatively, you can hit it old school style and show up at the concert when the box office opens and wish upon a star that they release more tickets, or hopefully, another concert-goer has an extra ticket to sell at face-value or even giveaway for free. Trust, this happens more often than not! We’ve given away many tickets to sold-out shows simply because our +1 couldn’t make it.

Also, more standard tickets are often released via Ticketmaster 1-3 days leading up to the show date. We’ve seen it with Beyonce , Taylor Swift , Arctic Monkeys and many more! It’s a secret gatekeeped by many, but if you’re reading this, now you know! So be sure to set your calendar notifications!

Kerry Washington will go on a book tour to promote her upcoming memoir, Thicker Than Water .

The actor, known for Emmy-nominated turns in the series Scandal and Little Fires Everywhere , will publish her memoir with Little, Brown Spark on Sept. 26. The publisher describes the book as a “profoundly moving and beautifully written memoir” that “reveals how she faced a series of challenges and setbacks, effectively hid childhood traumas…ultimately discovering her truest self and, with it, a deeper sense of belonging.”

Washington announced news of her book tour on a video on Twitter. “Not only did I write a book, but I’m going to do a book tour, which is nuts, and I’m going to be traveling to a bunch of different cities.…I’m going to be in conversation with you, but also with some of my closest, most amazing friends, people who have read the book, people who I love. And we’re just going to have some real talk. We’re going to talk about life and love and family and truth.”

From what I remember, most of my parents’ fights were about money, and about the fact that neither of them felt like they were in the marriage they wanted to be in, or more precisely, that they were married to the person they wanted to be married to. They argued about my dad’s spending versus my mother’s thriftiness; my dad’s failures to earn versus my mother’s failure of ambition; my dad’s regular absences versus my mother’s obsession with me.

They both harbored deep disappointment over what their lives had become—my mother was disappointed in my dad, and my dad was disappointed in the marriage. I had the sense that I was the only thing keeping them together, or that I had to try to be. I was supposed to deliver them to happiness, to avoid triggering in them any emotion even close to disappointment. So, when they fought, I took it as my failure, and felt like it was my job to fix it.

Like a lot of families, the magic trick was in the pretending. We pretended to ourselves, to each other, and to the outside world that our family was not suffering the pain of life’s disappointments. We were fine—but I learned a long time ago that FINE can be an acronym for fucked-up, insecure, neurotic, and emotional.

As a young child, I would lie in bed and listen for signs of how serious each battle was and when it might come to an end. Sometimes the entire “fight” would consist of my mother slamming a door to signal that she was done. But sometimes the yelling carried on.

I developed panic attacks at night. They manifested first as a rhythm of anxiety that encircled my brain, then evolved into a rapid pulsing, a whirling frenzy of metallic thumps, like those nauseating old spinning rides at a county fair.

This was not just a feeling. It was a sound, an internal beat, or series of beats, though they didn’t equate to music. It was the sound of terror, wholly unnatural and unconnected to the rhythms of my heart. I was dizzied with terror, no ground beneath me; it was crazy-making, endless. And sad. There was something so sad about the rhythm. And I couldn’t make it stop. I couldn’t sleep. It was as though the alarms within me had been triggered and there was no turning them off.

I was 7 years old.

It wasn’t every single night, but even on peaceful nights, I trembled at the possibility of it. Lying in bed, I would race to fall asleep before the sounds would leak from my bones. I would force myself to try to have “good” thoughts. I hated that the rhythm came from within me. I hated that my own brain was not to be trusted. If I lost the race to sleep and got caught by the rhythm, I had no tools to escape it, no way of controlling my own brain as it conspired against me.

I tried everything to avoid it. If I could sense it coming on, from deep within my cells, I would try to sing a song, or recite a poem, or do anything I could think of to simply turn my brain off. But it would take hold in my fascia, then work outward through my muscles and tendons. Sometimes, I would rock my body back and forth, vibrating, rattling, trying to drown out the pulsing noise and regain control of my body. Sometimes I would put my head under a pillow, trying to ignore the fact that the torture was coming from within me.

But only exhaustion would override the rhythm, lulling me to the dream state beyond my fears.

I would fight the haunting rhythm as it rose in me, often having to compete with my parents’ fights in the next room. If my inner rhythm won, I was tortured by the tempo of my own obsessive brain; if my parents’ arguing won, I was trapped by fear. One night around that time, I hurled the pillow to the ground in frustration. I knew that my job was to hide, to stay in my room and pretend that this was not happening—I understood that they were only fighting because they believed that I was asleep. If I let on that I was awake, well then, I’d be disrupting the roles as they had been written.

Thicker than Water: A Memoir

Thicker than Water: A Memoir

But I needed something from them, too—I wanted them to stop fighting because I needed to feel safe.

Part of me wanted them to know that I knew, that I heard them, that I was not being fooled by the smiles the next morning, by the whispers and the denials of their pain. I wanted to be in truth, even then. That night, the pillow thrown to the floor, I’d had enough—I went out into the living room and yelled, “Stop! Please stop!”

They stood still, perhaps in shock. My dad had been drinking; he was at the far end of our narrow kitchen. My mother stood across from him in the corner of our cramped living room, close to the door that led to our small terrace.

Even then I could sense my mother’s frustrated desperation. She looked at me for what seemed like forever, and then she started to cry. In my life, I can count on one hand the number of times that I have seen my mother cry; this was the second. As she wiped her tears, she seemed to me to be sinking, drowning in an abyss of sadness. The mask she wore for my dad, and for me when my dad was around, had fallen away, washed off hours ago in the rage of their argument. But he was not done—he moved to the center of the apartment, pontificating, filling the awkward silence. She remained quiet, her eyes trained on me.

It was clear that they had both said things to each other that would be difficult to forgive—we’d all heard them. Watching me enter the stage in the middle of their war was a final stab at my mother’s already wounded dreams. What she had dreamed of was a happy family. In her mind, she was supposed to be a successful working mother with a loving husband. She was supposed to have 2.5 kids, a couple of nice cars, and a schedule filled with service to her community and her family. She had wanted to create a world that was different from the one she grew up in. She aimed for a picture-perfect, upwardly mobile African American home, filled with joy and love and success. She believed it was her job to have it all and do it all and be it all.

And she was failing.

My entrance into the room was a signal to her of her failure to protect me from the ugliness of the truth that was bleeding out of them both. My mother was overworked and underpaid; she was treading water in her career due to her inability or unwillingness to write in the brutal “publish or perish” world of academia. She was married to a man who seemed incapable of solvency and whose partying and drinking were a source of heartache. They had two nice cars, sure, but only one child, a child who had been virtually impossible to conceive, and whose very existence was a stain of shared lies and shame between them.

Looking back, I think my mother was trapped in the fun-house version of her dream, an upside-down reality filled with anger, fear, and resentment.

Finally, she spoke.

“Earlier,” she said, wearily, almost to no one, “when I thought we were done fighting for the night, I told myself that I should go take a bath.”

Then she looked at my dad, daggers for eyes.

“I thought about the gift that you gave me for my birthday,” she said, “and I thought that I could put that homemade spa machine in the bottom of the tub and turn it on, and maybe just relax.”

And then she turned and gazed at me, almost as though I were an apparition.

“But then I thought, What if he throws the whole machine in the bathtub…?”

With that she stopped, and I stood there, quietly, not wanting to imagine her dead in that water.

The next morning, as was always the case, it was as if nothing had happened. There was no discussion of the painful words that had been exchanged the night before—no reference to them at all, in fact. My mother smiled warmly at me as she prepared breakfast, and my dad slept through the early morning hours as he usually did.

A few days later, I sat at my aunt Daph’s kitchen table and told her that if my parents didn’t stop arguing, I was going to move in with her and my cousins. And I asked her to relay that to my parents, on my behalf.

Although my ultimatum felt genuine, given I was only 7, I was unable to follow through with it. I didn’t want to be dramatic (at least not in that way). I decided not to give Aunt Daph any more details about my parents’ late-night battles. I became more private and withdrawn. I resolved to stay in my room at night while the dreaded internal pulse of the rhythm terrorized me to sleep. My parents’ battles were minor in comparison to the one that was raging within me.

My mind and body became the enemy; I was trapped within them. I tucked away the fear and started to develop a role, a character that would stay with me: The good girl. The perfect child. The solution. It was clear that my parents had lost their ability to express their love for each other, but perhaps a shared love for me could help them find it again. Maybe my goodness could inspire a renewed tenderness between them, which would in turn create more emotional security for me, something that I so desperately needed. Perhaps there was no changing the reality that they had grown disappointed and disillusioned with each other, but I could make it better, or at least try.

After all, I was their dream come true. If their personal failures had made it impossible for them to love themselves and each other, then I would be perfect enough so that they could experience whatever love they needed through me.

In 'Thicker Than Water,' Kerry Washington processes a family secret

Little, Brown Spark

Kerry Washington is well-known for her roles in Scandal , Little Fires Everywhere and Django Unchained . But in her new memoir, she reveals a LOT that the public doesn't know about her – and one big thing she didn't even know about herself until fairly recently. In today's episode, Washington sits down with NPR's Juana Summers for a two-part conversation about how a secret her parents kept for decades challenged – and strengthened – her relationship with them, and how she's managed the vulnerability that comes with sharing that journey with the rest of the world.

After revealing her family secret, Kerry Washington reflects on what was gained

Kerry Washington And Tony Goldwyn Just Reunited And Proved They Still Have THE Best Onscreen Chemistry. Period.

I t's safe to say that there are a ton of tv and movie actors who just have incredible chemistry . in fact, i've written several posts in the past about the best tv chemistry., a nd, without fail, every single time we have the "who has the best onscreen chemistry" conversation , there are two people who pop up: kerry washington and tony goldwyn ., o f course, kerry and tony starred together as olivia pope and president fitz on shonda rhimes's hit series scandal , which ran from 2012 to 2018., o ver the course of its seven-season run , scandal gifted us with one of the best love squares () between olivia, fitz, mellie (bellamy young), and jake (scott foley). but, let's face it, at the end of the day, it was always going to be olivia and fitz., while the show ended five years ago, the entire cast has stayed close friends, often reuniting whenever they can:, a nyway, this takes us to yesterday when kerry and tony reunited during kerry's current book tour for her memoir thicker than water , which is described as "an intimate view into both her public and private worlds — as an artist, an advocate, an entrepreneur, a mother, a daughter, a wife, a black woman.", t ony moderated a discussion in washington, dc — yes, they knew exactly what they were doing — and before the event, kerry shared a video of her walking to tony's dressing room set to the olivia and fitz music from scandal ., the way kerry walks down the hallway and then the way tony says, "hi.", and don't even get me started on the way they look at each other in the doorway. i am over here giggling and kicking my feet., scott even had a perfect reply in the instagram comments, lol:, okay, and then at the event, tony apparently printed out his favorite quotes from kerry's book to share with her and i just—, kerry also posted a series of photos, and based on the chemistry radiating off of them, i apparently would have no objections if they ever rebooted scandal ., and i'm not the only one; everyone — and i mean everyone — who watched even a single second of scandal was floored by kerry and tony's chemistry once again:.

If you love what you read, give your favorite tweets a like and the users a follow so you can make your timeline a more fun place to be.

And the people in Kerry's comments on both Instagram and TikTok were all thinking the same thing, too:

Basically, kerry and tony have the most amazing chemistry and, in conclusion, this 100% applies to them:.

Shonda Rhimes can even write them a rom-com, I'm just saying.

Kerry Washington’s Latest Press Tour Looks Are Full Of Fall Boot Inspiration

She’s promoting her memoir, Thicker Than Water .

Kerry Washington is seen leaving "The View" on March 9, 2023

In Hollywood, press tours give your favorite celebrities a chance to show off their style while promoting their latest projects. Sometimes, it’s a one day event with multiple outfit changes — like when Gigi Hadid wore 8 looks in just 24 hours to promote Next In Fashion . Other times, though, the media circuit festivities will span several days , across several countries, which demands a more intense wardrobe lineup. This week, all eyes were on Kerry Washington and what she wore as she celebrated the launch of her memoir Thicker Than Water . Washington’s press tour looks, thus far, have been polished and colorful, offering a bit of cheerfulness to the rainy gloom of New York City (as of this Tuesday, it’s been pouring for four days straight here).

One of our favorite looks from the star come on September 25, when the Scandal actor popped up Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in a reddish-brown knit sweater and asymmetrical skirt set with blue suede boots. The unexpected burst of cerulean provided by her footwear made them the star of the show, while the star’s red braided bag and matching lipstick played supporting characters. She accessorized the striking combination with a medley of jewelry from Marlo Laz, a fine jewelry brand founded by Jesse Marlo Lazowski in 2014.

Kerry Washington is seen on September 25, 2023 in New York City.

In addition to her chestnut brown set, Washington wore two other looks on Sept. 25 while promoting her new book. The actor dropped by the Today show while wearing a turquoise-hued top, an orange floral print skirt, and gray Manolo Blahnik suede knee-high boots . She then accented this look with jewelry from labels like Rainbow K, Yvonne Léon, and Grace Lee.

Though two out of her three looks were on the more colorful side, Washington did tap into the white dress tren d with a ruffled creation while on her way to Good Morning America . Wearing white was a daring move on her part (the rain! puddles! NYC grime!), but she seemed to pay no mind as she even took the subway instead of a car. The actor passed out copies of her book to unsuspecting passengers on the F train line, stopping to chat and pose with fans for photos.

Not only did this surprise fan interaction make us appreciate Washington even more, but as we head into fall, we’ll definitely take some wardrobe notes from her too. For our next rainy day attire, we will rock knee-high boots with a dress or knitted set for that pulled-together look.

Still, a word to the wise: if you’re commuting to work via the train, perhaps swap your suede shoes for a water-resistance leather option instead.

About the Book

While on a drive in Los Angeles, on a seemingly average afternoon, Kerry Washington received a text message that would send her on a life-changing journey of self-discovery. In an instant, her very identity was torn apart, with everything she thought she knew about herself thrown into question.

In "Thicker than Water," Washington gives readers an intimate view into both her public and private worlds—as an artist, an advocate, an entrepreneur, a mother, a daughter, a wife, a Black woman. Chronicling her upbringing and life's journey thus far, she reveals how she faced a series of challenges and setbacks, effectively hid childhood traumas, met extraordinary mentors, managed to grow her career, and crossed the threshold into stardom and political advocacy, ultimately discovering her truest self and, with it, a deeper sense of belonging.

Throughout this profoundly moving and beautifully written memoir, Washington attempts to answer the questions so many have struggled with:  Who am I? What is my truest and most authentic self? How do I find a deeper sense of connection and belonging?  With grace and honesty, she inspires readers to search for—and find—themselves.
