LeAnn Rimes, full name Margaret LeAnn Rimes Cibrian, is an American country and pop singer from Garland, Texas. Born in 1982, the singer is best known for her breakthrough single “How Do I Live”.

LeAnn Rimes began singing at the age of five where she received singing lessons locally and also began performing in musical theatre performances. Not afraid of the limelight, LeAnn Rimes was touring the United States from the age of nine alongside her father, Wilbur C Rimes. After turning 11 LeAnn Rimes began recording music on the label Nor Va Jak and she released three albums between 1991 and 1996.

Discovered by record promoter Bill Mack, LeAnn Rimes recorded his song “Blue” which found the singer her first success after it was released on her debut studio album for Curb Records, “Blue”. This 1996 album shot to the number three spot on the US Billboard charts and the single of the same name was a top 30 hit in the US; it was eventually certified Gold. This release found LeAnn Rimes considerable fame in both the country and mainstream music worlds after she was the youngest person ever to win a Grammy Award in 1997.

In 1997 at the age of 15, LeAnn Rimes released her most successful single to date, “How Do I Live”. The track went to number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and was certified triple platinum. The track broke the record for becoming the longest running single in the Billboard Hot 100 chart’s history after spending 69 weeks on the chart.

One of her most successful albums was “You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs”, which was released in 1997 and charted at number one on the US Billboard charts. The album went on to be certified 4x platinum; only second to her debut album, which was eventually certified 6x platinum.

LeAnn Rimes has toured extensively throughout her career, and has supported acts such as Kenney Chesney, Keith Urban and Luke Bryan. She has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards, two of which she has won.

Live reviews

It's hard to believe that the multi-award winning artist made her break at just 13 years old when she released 'Blue' and is still going strong 17 years later, with a voice as powerful as ever. The journey from a child singing at local talent shows, to an arena sell out artist can't be an easy one for anyone, but the way that she handles it is admirable, and experiencing her genuine sincerity towards the audience is endearing.

Her opening song, 'Swingin' set the tone of fun; uplifting country music sang with control and power. She performed with a live jazz band which was pretty exciting to see, and she would dance up to them and sing around them. Her stamina is fantastic, and watching such a talented performer be able to run around the stage whilst maintaining vocals pretty much identical quality to her recordings, is somewhat a thing of the past, and was refreshing to experience.

Although the venue where we went to see LeAnn was pretty big, and definitely sold out, the way that she addressed the audience was with a personable charm that transgressed the huge theatre, and made each audience member feel like they were watching a really special intimate gig. This was helped by her engagement with everyone, talking between songs, opening up about why and how she'd written the melodies and lyrics, and reaching out to hold fans' hands.

I have to be honest and say I was expecting a Country & Western show with plenty of country songs. Instead, we were treat to a catalogue of soul, funk, pop and gospel with only a hint of country. Leann was very smiley and chatty and sang beautifully throughout. It was only near the end that she ramped it up and got the crowd (of mostly advancing years) on their feet. Singing some of her big chart hits, a couple of covers and an intimate medley, she left the stage leaving everyone more than happy. One of her encores was a stunning rendition of Hallelujah, a beautiful tribute to the late Leonard Cohen.

Leann's stage set up was sparse. The lighting was minimal and unobtrusive. Instead, she let her 4 band members fill in the gaps with their amazing performances.

Hi Guys, well actually I never got to actually see the show. That is because I live in Canada and I had some issues at the border. Because of the border, I was denied access to the USA was unable to see the show. I was pissed because it just cost me like about $268.00 CA for a VIP ticket too. Would be nice to be able to get my money back somehow.

Leann has AMAZING talent. She is engaging and I love to watch her flow with the music. This time she just sang for an hour and half which was a bit disappointing. A two hour show would be perfect. She’s pretty perfect though, so it was a great show ❤️

dawna-paul’s profile image

Also the VIP section should be closer to the stage. This section was too far off to the side and the viewing was less than ideal. The general admission audience had better viewing, and payed much less!

What a voice! She still has all her talent. The bass was too loud and dominated the music. Thanks for the crew who recovered my car keys that fell into a post hole! Would see her again!

Leann put on a great show, she has a awesome voice i would definitely go see her again. Loved it when she sang patsy cline songs,it was my favorite part of the show.

In April of the same year, LeAnn headlined an episode of the iconic music series CMT Crossroads entitled LeAnn Rimes & Friends alongside Mickey Guyton, Carly Pearce, Ashley McBryde, and Brandy Clark, who helped commemorate Rimes' career and recognize the path she blazed forward for women in all genres. How LeAnn Rimes Is Celebrating 25 Years of "Music, Life and Survival" on the story…so far Tour

As part of e's backstage pass, leann rimes shared why she wants concertgoers to "feel a little bit more of who they really are inside" while hearing her music..

Congratulations! You just scored a backstage pass to the hottest tickets in town.

After COVID-19 put a pause on live entertainment, your favorite artists are ready to hit the road and entertain audiences safely with brand-new tours and experiences. And regardless of where you are, we're offering an all-access ticket to every must-see concert of the year. Welcome to E!'s Backstage Pass .

This summer, LeAnn Rimes just wants to celebrate.

Yes, she's able to tour again for the first time in nearly two years. But the Grammy winning singer-songwriter has also reached an impressive accomplishment. 2022 marks 25 years since the release of her debut album  Blue . Now, LeAnn is hitting the road to perform the biggest hits of her career on the story…so far  tour.

"We are celebrating! We run down the records and have pulled stuff from many different albums that we're playing live," LeAnn exclusively shared with E! News. "I've been known for my ballads and some of my tours have been very laid back. Now, we only slow down a couple of times and it's just really fun."

In addition to hearing classic hits like "How Do I Live" and "I Need You," the 39-year-old artist is also excited to play new tracks from her upcoming album,  god's work , set to be released Sept. 16.

"It's really cool to see people instantly relate to the songs and I think the songs are not something that you have to know to enjoy because the messages of them live so deeply within us already," she shared. "People seem to be completely engaged and connected the whole time. It's a true celebration of music and life and survival. Not only for myself over the past 25 years, but also, where we've been in this world of the past two and a half years."

When experiencing LeAnn live, the country star wants you to sing and dance. At the same time, she loves when people experience a wide variety of feelings when hearing her songs.

"As an artist, I think that's so gratifying to see people really run through the gamut of emotion in front of me and feel their heart a little deeper," she said. "That's my intention when I walk out. It's just to help people feel a little bit more of who they really are inside and to connect with those around them and their loved ones and themselves."

After performing for 25 years, LeAnn Rimes has learned a few things about traveling on a tour bus. "I take such good care of myself and I've learned what works and what doesn't work for me after all these years of doing it," she said. "I've learned that I have to fill myself back up because I give out so much energy. There's always a massage or a sauna or something that's waiting for me to just refill my body."

"When I was out on the road at 13, I was drinking like four cokes a day not even thinking about it," LeAnn said. "Now, it's a completely different world and I have to have my rest. It has to be a balance and I've really learned how to enjoy as much as I can. Back in the day, I didn't see anywhere we went. I was constantly working so I try to schedule in some play time and some self-care time while I'm out here."

During the story...so far tour, LeAnn will play songs from her upcoming album god's work . "There's a lot of rhythm and a lot of great drumming on this album," she teased. "I always seem to gravitate toward just what I'm moved by at the time. It's very instinctual and what's moving my heart and I feel like if I always create from that place, I seem to be able to connect with other people through that."

On every tour, LeAnn is grateful for the love and encouragement displayed from her husband Eddie Cibrian . "He's constantly supporting me and when he's on tour, he's always on the side of the stage jamming out," she said. "You'd think he would get bored of hearing me but he seems to light up every time."

While LeAnn's stepsons Mason , 18, and Jake , 15, may be teenagers, they have a respect for what the artist does night after night. "The other day, Jake finally understood ‘Can't Fight the Moonlight' and he's like, ‘Man, that song slaps,'" LeAnn joked. "I was like, Oh, I'm all of a sudden cool. It was pretty funny. It's one of his jams now. Nothing we do is cool but I have one song that he's like, ‘Oh, that's a good one.'"

When looking back on her career, LeAnn is thankful for where she has ended up. "I've come through a lot and to be a child star and to have navigated this world and the terrain fairly gracefully has been probably my greatest accomplishment," she said. "To be in the best place of my life now artistically and emotionally and physically than ever, I feel like that really is my personal greatest accomplishment."

The album, which features a roster of accomplished artists including Ziggy Marley, Mickey Guyton, Aloe Blacc, Ben Harper, and more, was listed as #9 on Variety's "The Best Albums of 2022." She performed songs from the project on national shows including LIVE With Kelly and Ryan and TODAY.

In honor of the 2019 Record Store Day, the Grammy-winning superstar unveiled her first-ever LIVE recording as an exclusive vinyl release titled Rimes: Live at Gruene Hall where Rimes celebrated music of all genres. And during the 2018 holiday season she starred and served as an Executive Producer in Hallmark's It's Christmas, Eve, which earned the highest TV original movie debut to-date for the channel premiering to over 4.3 million viewers. Earlier that year, Rimes revealed a new EP for her fans titled Re-Imagined that featured five new versions of some of her record-breaking hits, including an epic duet with the music icon Stevie Nicks. In 2017, LeAnn released Remnants, which debuted at # 4 on Billboard's Independent Album Chart, peaked at #3 on iTunes ® overall charts in its first week, garnered two #1 Billboard Dance hits with "Long Live Love" and "LovE is LovE is LovE," and one Top 5 hit with "Love Line." Additionally, for her Remnants UK Tour, she joined Elton John at the historic Hyde Park in London.

Passionate about using her voice to help heal the world, LeAnn was honored with the Ally of Equality Award by the Human Rights Campaign for her over 20 years of support of equal rights, the 2019 HOPE Award for Depression Advocacy, and 2009 ACM Humanitarian Award, among other recognitions. She continues to channel her voice in new ways, releasing CHANT: The Human & The Holy (EverLe Records / Thirty Tigers) in 2020, which spent 5 weeks at #1 on iTunes New Age Chart, as well as her iHeartRadio mental health and wholeness podcast, Wholly Human, that brings her lifestyle blog, Soul of EverLe, to life.
