Second time I've seen them (the first time was also their first in Sweden i believe, at Tivoli in Helsingborg, also arranged by Progressive Circus a couple of years ago).

They played two songs and one encore. The first song clocked in at 1 hour, the second at about 40 minutes and the last, a ballad, was about 15 minutes if I´m not mistaken. So much great music and great musicianship shown. KB was full of Magma-fans and everybody was in a great mood. A truly wonderful experience! 5/5

Je ne regrette pas d'avoir été à ce concert. J'avais vu Magma en 1978 et avais été impressionné par leur côté hors convention. Hors ce soir même si la musique était de qualité, j'ai trouvé le show trop formaté. Une heure trente, deux rappels "prévus" et puis salut... quasi pas d'échanges avec le public, je déplore vraiment ce manque de chaleur et de "complicité". 50 ans , c'aurait dû être un peu plus festif... mais bon Magma, on aime et on pardonne.

I saw Magma for the first time in NY City in 1999 then in Victoriaville Quebec Canada last May. These two concerts stand today as the two best shows I have ever seen in my life. They will change what you think you know about music. For the first time in Magma's history they will be performing at The Opera House in Toronto Ontario, Canada April 2, 2016. Do not miss is concert it will no doubt be the concert of the year.

A marvellous other-worldly concert, with a repertoire consisting of only three "songs" - the suites Ëmëhntëhtt-Ré & Theusz Hamtaahk + 1 short encore. The band was super tight, inspired and the audience very happy.

Magma announce limited edition seven disc 50th anniversary Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh vinyl box set

Magma's Une histoire de Mekanïk – 50 Years of Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh will be released in October

French zeuhl legends  Magma  have announced that they will release a lavish limited edition, seven-disc vinyl box set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their acclaimed third album, 1973's Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh .

Une histoire de Mekanïk – 50 Years of Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh will be released through the band's Seventh Records label on October 6. The set features seven vinyl albums which chart the development of what is widely considered to be their finest album over the years, ranging from the original album to live recordings and other rare materials, and also features an 84-pages hardcover book, a wall flag, a facsimile of the original LP front cover, and a hand-numbered certificate of authenticity.

"With this box set, we want to take you all right into the heart of the composition of our most emblematic work, which allows you to follow its evolution throughout the 50 years of its existence," band mastermind Christan Vander explains. "When we performed Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh for the first time, we did not imagine even in our wildest dreams that people would still want us to play this album more than 50 years later. This anniversary deserves to be celebrated, and this edition is a gift for us as well!"

Magma: Une histoire de Mekanïk – 50 Years of Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh

LP 1 - 1972 – Paris ORTF This is definitely one of the first recorded live versions of MDK ; and it might even be the first – if anybody could exactly remember this after 50 years. At that time, the masterpiece was still a work in progress.

LP 2 - 1973 – Choeurs de la Storchhaus` This studio recording can be regarded as a demo and it features the choir that played MDK live at the SIGMA festival in November 1972. It was first released on CD in 1989 and now appears for the first time on vinyl.

LP 3 - Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh (original version) Despite more than 30 published studio and live recordings, many consider this album to represent Magma’s ultimate masterpiece. At the time, Christian Vander had taken the artistic destiny of the French band fully into his hands. The most striking development was the massive impact of the vocalists and choir. This classic was carefully remastered for this edition.

LP 4 - (Side 1) 1994 – Les voix de Magma This previously unreleased track was recorded live with the addition of a 60-piece choir.

LP 4 - (Side 2) 1995 – Babyaga la sorcière This surprising adaptation of MDK was recorded at the Espace Lumière in Epinay-sur-Seine, France on October 15, 1995 during the second concert celebrating Magma’s 25th birthday. It features an impressive choir of children and an instrumental ensemble of teenagers. It was released on CD in 1996, but never before on vinyl.

LP 5 - 2000 – Paris Trianon Theater This version was recorded in Paris at the Theatre du Trianon during Magma’s 30th anniversary celebration and was previously only released on CD as part of a box set in 2001.

LP 6 - 2005 – Paris Le Triton During May 2005, Magma booked the club Le Triton in Paris, changed their programme each week, and brought illustrious past members back to the stage to perform with them. On this recording from May 21, Christian Vander was reunited with legendary bass player Jannick Top. Previously only appearing on DVD, this is the first audio only release of this remarkable event.

LP 7 - 2021 – Opéra de Rennes This previously unreleased version captures the new Magma line-up, which is more vibrant than ever!

Writer and broadcaster Jerry Ewing is the Editor of Prog Magazine which he founded for Future Publishing in 2009. He grew up in Sydney and began his writing career in London for Metal Forces magazine in 1989. He has since written for Metal Hammer, Maxim, Vox, Stuff and Bizarre magazines, among others. He created and edited Classic Rock Magazine for Dennis Publishing in 1998 and is the author of a variety of books on both music and sport, including Wonderous Stories; A Journey Through The Landscape Of Progressive Rock.

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.

He didn't take shortcuts and really covered everything that was on the agenda in great detail. We saw beautiful metro stations and learned the history behind them, including many of the murals and designs.

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.
