Launched in 2008 and last refurbished in 2021, MSC Poesia offers some unique onboard amenities, like a sushi bar (which touts its own Zen garden) and the laid-back Mojito cocktail bar. Guests can unwind at the MSC Aurea Spa or by one of the three pool areas, while those looking to be more active can take advantage of the jogging track, mini-golf course or Sports Center. Nighttime entertainment includes a variety of shows, dancing in the nightclub and table games at the casino.

The ship offers four cabin categories: Interior, Ocean View, Balcony and Suite. The majority of cabins offer balconies, but those who splurge on a suite will receive more space and bathrooms with tubs. All staterooms come equipped with minibars and TVs.

Still, the ship offers just five dining venues. And with 3,013 passengers and about 987 staff members, service isn’t as specialized as that of other mainstream competitors.

Each of the handicapped staterooms features: larger size (compared to the non-accessible counterpart), wider doors (width 35 inches / 0,9 m, sitting-level keycard slot), wider turning spaces (5 ft / 1,5 m), ramped thresholds, beds with open bed frames, lowered vanity in the sitting area, amplified phones, captioned TVs, wider bathrooms (door width 35 inches / 0,9 m, roll-in shower, fold-down shower bench, grab rails, lower sinks and closet rods, raised toilets, hand-held shower head, seat height from the floor 0,4 m).

All ADA cabins also feature a convenient location near the elevators.

The ship’s gangways are all wide enough for most types of wheelchairs and disability scooters.

All decks provide elevator access.

All passenger lifts have visual, audio and Braille deck indicators.

During an emergency, dedicated crew personnel helps all disabled guests (also those with reduced mobility) to board the ship's lifeboats.

Msc poesia docks in city as it nears end of 115 day cruise.

The MSC Poesia cruise liner stopped at Liverpool today as part of a marathon 115-day voyage.

The ship docked at Liverpool's Cruise Terminal on the 113th day of its itinerary after docking in Belfast yesterday. The cruise, dubbed an 'Easter' voyage, started on January 4 in Rome, and will end on April 28 in Southampton.

On route from Rome to Southampton, the Poesia stopped at 46 ports, including New York, Rio de Janeiro and Barcelona.

The Poesia was built in 2008 and was refurbished in 2023. It can accommodate between 2,550 and 3,060 passengers and has 1,275 cabins and 16 decks.

The cruise ship has three swimming pools, four whirlpools and a giant poolside cinema screen. It also has a Zen Garden, an authentic Japanese sushi bar and a wellness centre with steam room, sauna and massage area.

Poesia will be making dozens of other journeys this year, including a 21 night Greenland and Iceland voyage which departs from Copenhagen at the end of June, and a 22 night 'Grand Voyage' which departs from Genoa , Italy on November 13 and ends at Montevideo, Uruguay on December 5.
