We serve a tasting menu experience, served to all diners at the same time. Seating is around a bar placed in front of the open kitchen, so the guests get a view of all the activity carried out by the kitchen staff. The tasting menu, which changes from time to time, is created by Chef Raz Rahav who draws inspiration from the local culture, raw materials, history and ‘chutzpa’, while being aware of the availability of raw materials and the season, influences from around the world and memories.

The nature of the meal requires a set menu that is not presented to the diners when they arrive. We encourage you to come with an open mind, and together with the other diners, experience new tastes and raw materials. At the same time, we are heedful to culinary limitations such as pregnancies, veganism, vegetarianism, kosher adaption and allergies. Visit the Western Wall and the Jewish Quarter

Proceed to the Western Wall (“Kotel”), a remnant of the 2,000- years-old Jewish Temple that is sacred for Jews. Touch the ancient stones, watch the Jewish prayers, or possibly place a note in the wall’s crevices. Adjacent to the Western Wall lies the Jewish Quarter , offering a captivating mix of synagogues, shops, and eateries. Following a lunch proceed to Mount Zion, a hill known for its historical and religious significance. The Room of the Last Supper and King David’s Tomb mark are just some of its landmarks that that attract pilgrims of various faiths.

Reach the Mount of Olives and Gethsemane

Returning to the car, drive around the Old city and ascend to the top Mount of Olives . Its summit provides the best panoramic views of Jerusalem and is known for its vast Jewish cemetery. By Christian tradition it is also where Jesus ascended to heaven. The tour will conclude in the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was arrested after the Last Supper. Explore the ancient olive trees and the Rock of Agony, said to be where Jesus prayed in anguish before his capture.

• If time permits the tour could include a drive through western Jerusalem, appreciating the city’s 20th-century development, including Mea Shearim , the state’s parliament building (Knesset) and other national institutions.

First Time in Israel?

Bring modest clothing. While Tel Aviv, Haifa and Eilat have the feel of New York, San Francisco and Miami, Jerusalem and Tzfat are another story. When going into synagogues, churches and mosques you do not want to be wearing shorts, a mini skirt or a tank top. Ladies should bring a long skirt to throw over their shorts and a scarf or t-shirt handy in order to cover up. Most of the time you can dress as you always do, but once in a while even the men will have to wear long pants. Bring water shoes. Sometimes we will go on little walks or even hikes through a mountain stream or desert oasis over rocks in the water, sometimes in water in a cave! If you don't want to do that, at the very least you will need them when walking on sharp salt crystals as you wade into the Dead Sea before you start to bob up and down like a cork. Are you Jewish and have never had a bar/bat mitzvah? Let us know and we'll set it up. Or perhaps you would like to be baptized in the Jordan River? Please let us know ahead of time so we can set those up for you. Pack light. You will be much happier in the end, trust us. Israel is a very casual place. People go to weddings in shorts, t-shirts and sandals. Leave the suit and dinner jacket at home. You will not be needing them here! Don't get upset when the security officer at the airport grills you with a million questions that seem absurd. There is a method to the madness and don't fret when the security guard searches your purse at the bar or restaurant. It is all for your own good! The sun can be very strong here, especially in the summer. Hats, sun block and sunglasses aren't only recommended, they're essential! Even if you're from Florida. A canteen water bottle is always a good idea. Outside of July and August the evenings can be cool. And between October and May it can be downright cold and rainy. Pack accordingly. The really cold and rainy season generally begins mid November and lasts through March. Outside of the Golan Heights snow is rare, although once in a while it snows in Jerusalem and Tzfat.

Booking-tours is very organized from the Day 1 arrival at Ben Gurion to the last day of the tour, they took care of us, always making sure there is someone who is looking after us, esp point of pick up and drop off. We booked a 10-day Luxury Private tour of Israel. Overall, we enjoyed the trip, but there were some disappointments and several surprises that were not clear in the offering materials. The best part was that the guides were quite good. Our guide on the second day seemed to be willing to stay with us until 7 pm, but we had not energy for that. Perhaps he was paid by the hour! The connections to and from the airports were flawless. One flaw was that none of the guides offered us a map of the country or locations we were visiting. We had to get our bearings on our own. On the first three days, our guides (Gil and Eli) charged us for parking fees and entry fees. Thankfully, you have refunded these fees. We wonder if these two guides were reimbursed by the tour company as well as collecting from us. Our fourth guide (Sarah) paid for all fees. On the last day, Moti also paid for all fees. Our guide on the third day, Gil, skipped the visit to the Dead Sea Scrolls. Instead, he just summarized it verbally while driving past it on the highway. When we said that the visit was on our itinerary, he replied: “It’s optional.” Ha Ha! He evidently wanted to get home early that day, as he dropped us off at our hotel at the Dead Sea at about 2:30 pm. Thus, we did not get the full-day tour for which we paid. Gil had incorrect information about which was our hotel at the Dead Sea, but it was cleared up by phone calls just prior to our arrival. We did not understand that we would have no continuity of service from Bookings. Tour guides picked us up in the morning and returned us to our hotel at the end of the day. We did not have the names of our guides in advance, and were not provided with a telephone number to reach them. As a private tour we were to have some discretion over sites visited. Some guides understood this while others did not. The itinerary in the offering materials for the days in the Galilee made little sense, but our guide (Moti) was able to construct tours that worked. Our major complaint is that you promoted this as a luxury tour, yet there was little luxurious about it. Our Jerusalem and Dead Sea hotels were good. Our Tel Aviv hotel was less than good. Our 3-day kibbutz stay was not good. At the kibbutz, the room was not properly cleaned when we arrived. The TV was tiny and barely functional. We were nowhere near places to eat the evening meal and transportation to/from dinner was not easy. We tipped someone to drive us to and from dinner one night. However, the kibbutz breakfast was excellent. We think you owe us a partial refund for the three nights we spent at the kibbutz. In the evenings, we wanted to watch the French Open tennis at the hotels, but the hotel in Tel Aviv did not offer that channel. Also, at that hotel, I asked at the desk clerk if they could change a 100 NIS bill. The answer: “No.” Also, in that hotel, the thermostat was set to a temperature that was too cold for us, but it COULD NOT be changed. The hotel desk clerk advised with a smile: “You could turn it off.” Though the location was good, the breakfast at that hotel was plentiful but not the best. We added a day trip to Petra, expecting it to be of the same quality as the rest of our trip. Far from it! We traveled on 40-person buses and toured with the same large group. The walking tour was long, and we had to pay $50 for a return golf-cart ride.
