Princess Anne's Longchamp travel bag is having a moment

Whilst we often turn to Princess Kate or Meghan Markle — and sometimes Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie — for royal fashion inspiration, it's one Princess Anne who's making the style headlines right now.

The Princess Royal has just undertaken her first official overseas trip since the sad passing of her mother Queen Elizabeth : she travelled to New York City last week, where she stayed for just two days, according to Woman & Home .

A picture of her on her return journey is making the rounds as royal fans continue to comment on how elegant and down-to-earth Anne looked while stepping out at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

A fan account tweeted the photo with the caption: "Just The Princess Royal carrying her own bags through JFK airport, on her way to catch a flight home," along with a heart emoji, and US and UK flags.

Commenters quickly rallied around Anne's winning look.

One person wrote: "She looks so stylish here. Blazer, polo neck, grey flannel trousers, suede tassel flats. No nonsense stylish, and all business. The Princess Royal is a great lady, finally getting some long overdue recognition."

Someone else said: "She looks fantastic! That is one smart outfit. Love it"

But it was one accessory in particular that caught people's attention: the Princess Royal's classic olive green travel bag, which eagle-eyed observers identified as hailing from cult French label Longchamp, after someone asked after it: "Anyone have an ID on the green bag? Would love to get one... if I can afford it, ha!" that person wrote.

Princess Anne Carries Her Own Bags on Commercial Flight — Living Up to Her Hardest-Working Royal Title!

Princess Anne and her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, are making the first royal trip abroad of 2024 to Sri Lanka

Princess Anne appears to have no intention of giving up her title of the hardest-working member of the British royal family.

Queen Elizabeth 's only daughter made the first international royal trip of 2024 on Wednesday, touching down in Sri Lanka for an official visit with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.

The royal couple took a commercial flight for the journey, with SriLankan Airlines documenting their trip on social media. In photos posted by the airline on X, Princess Anne and Sir Tim's down-to-earth nature is displayed by them carrying their own bags onto the flight.

SriLankan Airlines captioned the images , "A service fit for a royal! We are delighted to welcome onboard Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal on her journey from London to Colombo on a two-day official visit to mark the 75 years of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the UK. It is truly an honour to extend Her Royal Highness and the delegation our inherent Sri Lankan warmth and hospitality, thereby presenting the first taste of our island home through our service. We thank the HRH for honouring us with her presence onboard and choosing us for the journey."

Princess Anne, 73, and Sir Tim, 68, touched down at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayak, again carrying their bags as they deboarded.

A welcome ceremony at the airport saw the royals greeted by dancers, music, Union Jack flags and a red carpet.

Princess Anne, sporting sunglasses, was received by dignitaries including the British High Commissioner to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Andrew Patrick and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Ali Sabry.

Princess Anne and Sir Tim kicked off their engagements right away, heading first to the MAS Active Factory, one of the largest apparel tech companies in South Asia and identified by the U.K. Fashion and Textile Association as an important Sri Lankan partner. As President of the UKFT, the Princess Royal met staff and toured the facility to hear more about their innovative designs and partnerships with U.K. brands.

Also on the agenda for Wednesday are a visit to Save The Children Sri Lanka’s Head Office and the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children.

This evening, the royal couple will be received by the President of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe and the First Lady of Sri Lanka, Mrs. Maithree Wickremesinghe to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between their two countries.

Princess Anne, who is known as the royal family's hardest worker for the massive number of engagements she undertakes each year, became the first royal to step out for an official engagement in the new year when she visited the Oxford Farming Conference in her role as honorary president of the organization last week. She said in a speech that "farming as a family enterprise understands long-term value," according to Crediton Milling.

Other members of the royal family have yet to fully return to public duties after the Christmas break.

Kate Middleton  and  Prince William  started 2024 out of the public eye, spending time with their three children — Prince George ,  Princess Charlotte  and  Prince Louis — during their holiday school break. The Princess of Wales also marked her 42nd birthday on Tuesday, and the couple likely spent the weekend privately celebrating with friends and family.

Last year, Prince William and Princess Kate had their  first public engagement of 2023  on Jan. 12.

Meanwhile, King Charles  was spotted on Sunday at a church outing, where he chatted with two young brothers traveling in a toy Land Rover.

"It was a very surreal experience," said Georgina, the boys' mother, according to PA via the  BBC . "We went to see [King Charles] go in, and we weren't planning on seeing him come out, but because he made such a beeline for the Landy to start with, we thought we had to go back and show him it.”

Princess Anne proved she has plenty of stamina left today after an intense four-day-visit to Australia and Papua New Guinea. 

The 71-year-old Princess Royal made a brief stop at Sydney Airport today after arriving by private jet from Papua New Guinea, where she concluded a whirlwind tour of the Southern Hemisphere. 

Anne, who travelled with her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, 67, impressed royal aides with her sense of duty this week, which saw her rack up more than 20 engagements in four days. 

Now preparing to get back home to Gatcombe Park, indefatigable Anne, who completed the trip without assistants, makeup artist or hairdressers, and was seen carrying her bags herself out of her private jet.

She paired cream trousers with a navy jacket she wore over a white crisp shirt.

No-nonsense Anne also picked a comfortable pair of brown slip-on shoes for her journey, and had a navy Longchamp bag as her cabin luggage, along with a smaller leather handbag for her essentials. 

She was also seen carrying what appeared to be a black laptop case, after possibly catching up on emails on the flight.  

A chauffeur was there to welcome Anne and Sir Tim on the tarmac in Sydney, but the royals carried their own luggage 

Her hair was coiffed into a bun, tied together at the back of her head, and Anne still took the time to accessorise with a pair of pearl earrings. 

Her husband, Sir Tim, opted for dark grey slacks with a black jacket and white shirt. He was also wearing a pair of sunglasses. 

In spite of her demanding schedule this past week, the Princess Royal looked fresh-faced as she stepped onto the tarmac. 

Anne gave other working royals a run for their money this week, jumping from one engagement to the next while getting very little sleep.

In spite of piling on engagements this week, Anne and Sir Tim did not put their foot down when they made a quick stop in Sydney 

She impressed the royal household this week, travelling almost 25,000 miles in four days, piling on a total of 20 engagements, all while staying at £185 a night hotel with just one member of her staff present - alongside her security detail and husband. 

The Daily Mail's Royal Editor Rebecca English reported that Anne packed her own suitcase, did her own make-up and her own hair throughout the tour, which saw her display remarkable stamina. 

Despite being past the UK retirement age, she was on her feet from 11.30am to 6.30pm at the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW’s Bicentennial Sydney Royal Easter Show. 

And she caught just a few hours sleep after dinner with the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, before getting on her flight home. 

Princess Anne has been doing her own makeup and her own hair on the journey. She packed her own suitcase and made sure to travel light, pictured

After her carry-on bags were loaded in her car, Anne chatted with her chauffeur before driving off 

Royal aides told English that Anne's attitude to royal engagements is 'remarkable.'

‘It’s quite unbelievable,’ said one, ‘she literally hadn’t stopped flogging herself from the moment she left the UK. And to think she will turn 72 this summer. Remarkable.’ 

Her trip is the first time a British royal has visited Australia since Harry and Meghan's tour in 2018, with the coronavirus pandemic preventing any for the past two years. 

The royal visit is part of the line-up of celebrations to mark Her Majesty's 70 years on the throne including, Trooping the Colour, a Service of Thanksgiving and a concert at Buckingham Palace.

Sir Tim, who is reportedly as down-to-Earth as Princess Anne is, was also carrying his own luggage

The only contrasting element in her look in Wellingborough was her grey asymmetric peacoat. This had an earthy green running through the subtle checked pattern of the fabric, with brown covered buttons.

The Princess Royal’s whole outfit was beautifully coordinated and chic, with the satchel as the star accessory. We can’t help wanting her to bring back this bag again for other engagements as she so often does with her timeless pieces. 

During her visit to Off the Streets NN, Princess Anne presented certificates to those who have supported them and completed critical bleed control training courses and also met with volunteers and supporters and heard from those affected by knife crime. Off the Streets NN was set up in 2021 after the tragic death of a local teenager due to knife crime and is committed to eradicating knife crime in the local community. They have already trained 608 community members in critical bleed control and placed 13 Amnesty Bins across the country to allow for knives to be handed in and discarded safely.

LONDON — On Wednesday, Craig Green traveled to Windsor Castle to collect a Member of the Order of the British Empire honor, or MBE, for his services to fashion from Princess Anne.

Green was among more than 1,000 members of the British public to receive an official accolade from Queen Elizabeth II in what was to become the monarch’s final annual Birthday Honors list, released ahead of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations last summer.

In January, King Charles recognized a host of British beauty and fashion figures in his first New Year Honors list as monarch.

Designer Mary Quant , Johnnie Boden , podiatrist Margaret Dabbs and Sam McKnight , Princess Diana ’s hairstylist from 1990 to 1997, will receive honorary titles for their services to the fashion and hair industry. 

Quant received an Order of the Companion of Honour, or CH, for her outstanding achievement in British fashion. The award is limited to just 65 people at any one time. 

Quant will join fellow designer Paul Smith , who was named a Companion of Honour in 2020 by Queen Elizabeth II.

McKnight was given an OBE for his services to the fashion and beauty industry. He is known for giving Princess Diana the short, slicked-back hairstyle she sported shortly before the royal couple separated in 1992.

King Charles’ choice to honor his late ex-wife’s hairstylist gives a clue to how he wants to lead, with compassion and sensitivity.

Catalogue and online clothing entrepreneur Boden was awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire, or CBE, for his services to the fashion and retail sector.

Princess Anne turns heads in recycled coat and vibrant feathered beret at Easter service

The princess royal couldn't have looked more elegant as she stepped out in windsor.

The Princess Royal was a vision of regal elegance as she stepped out in Windsor on Easter Sunday. 

Wearing a lime-green wool coat that has been in her wardrobe since at least 2015, the sister of King Charles cut an elegant figure as she joined her royal family at St George's Chapel for the annual Easter Matins service . 

Princess Anne, 73, added caramel-hued suede boots to her look, accessorising with brown leather gloves and a brown saddle bag. 

Displaying her sartorial prowess, the Princess Royal wore a forest green beret-style hat adorned with an emerald bow and black feathers.

She perched the headpiece atop her signature chignon hairstyle, and added a flash of red lipstick to complete her elegant ensemble.

The Princess Royal's thrifty style credentials have long hailed her as an embodiment of sustainable fashion. 

Paired with her ability to maintain beautiful garments for several decades, the Princess has been known to recycle clothes first debuted in her twenties, and wear precious royal jewels that formerly belonged to her mother, Queen Elizabeth II .

The occasion marks the King's first major public outing since he received his cancer diagnosis. Acting as a pillar of strength by his side, Princess Anne showed her unwavering loyalty to her brother by joining him at church. 

Her appearance comes after the mother-of-two attended four engagements in one day last week, in light of taking on extra royal duties to cover King Charles and the Princess of Wales amid their ongoing health concerns. 

A member of the public shouted "Happy Easter" outside St George's chapel, to which the King gestured with his arm and responded: "And to you."

The monarch appeared in high spirits for the significant outing, beaming as he entered the church with his wife, Queen Camilla by his side. 

The Prince and Princess of Wales were not at the service, marking the first time in several years that William and Kate have been absent from the annual occasion. 

The Wales family are understood to be spending the Easter holidays together in private as they adjust to Kate’s cancer diagnosis, which was discovered in post-operative tests after major abdominal surgery.
