Great rack I love it so far. I wish it came with a wind fairing or something to make it less noisy when sun roof is open. Very very loud but closed sunroof and it’s fine. Directions should be clearer because I had hard time understanding how many slider nuts to add before I assembled it. I had to take it apart partially to remove those sliders for later. And after I bought it I noticed rhino rack is making a more aerodynamic one but oh well I like this for my small Watermaster fly fishing raft to portage back to camp after we fish. This is an excellent product; however, almost every vehicle installation like this has some issues.

This good news first: The sliders provide a much clearer appearance to the Wilderness than the cladding they replace. They are very robust and effective. They are not bulky. They provide a step up to items stored on your load bars like tools, bikes, pods or traction devices. They are nicely finished.

The not-so-good news: The sliders can be difficult to install. The rivnuts can be a bear to deal with. I did not use a pneumatic rivnut installation tool. I don't believe they are recommended (too powerful). I used a very high-quality install tool that I have used before. When installing the bolts, the "nut" would occasionally spin. It wasn't the end of the world, but it was tedious. Patient and experience help. Don't lose patience.

The quality of the rivnuts appeared first rate. I'm not anticipating any rusting like 95% of Amazon's rivnuts do. CAtuned provides fine materials.

The sliders' holes do not line up perfectly with the Wilderness's. It's an excellent match, but not perfect (nothing is). Use vice grips (with towels in the jaws) to aligned some of the holes. Again, just be patient.

When I was all done with this minor project I felt it was time, money and effort well worth it. Just don't expect anything as bolt-on friendly as CAtuned's brush bar.

The sliders are an EXCELLENT product and Adventure Rig Shop provided EXCELLENT service.

Finishing the GX 460 Overland Custom Build

Adding the final touches to the Lexus GX 460 Overland Build

You might be familiar with this silver-and-orange-striped 2013 Lexus GX 460 overland build , because it graced the cover of the March/April 2020 issue of Tread . While outwardly this overland build doesn’t look all that different today than it did then, it’s actually seen some major upgrades since.

Refinement and details matter, because they make a quality build foundation into a truly capable, reliable and comfortable overland adventure machine.

Let’s dive into the details of how I “finished” this Lexus GX 460 overland build. Hopefully, some of these finishing touches and build philosophies will help inspire other builds to a better state of completion, thus providing years of adventure enjoyment to come.

Basics First

With any vehicle build, start with the basics. A quality foundation on which to build is critical. Make sure the vehicle has good bones and a strong “heart.” You don’t want to put a lot of money and time into building on something that’s prone to failure in the first place.

When adding weight and complexity, you’ll find that parts wear faster, and flaws in the base truck quickly reveal themselves. Staying on top of maintenance items is critical, especially with a loaded-down vehicle.

I was lucky and smart with this GX: While it has some mileage—87,000 miles upon purchase and 100,000 miles today—it was free of rust and had records to show a long history of regular dealer maintenance.

Comfortable, supportive seats make long hours behind the wheel enjoyable, even if you’ve got back issues.

Build Big, Then Refine

As you might have read in the last article about this Lexus build, it was built with remote, off-road adventures in mind while also needing to transport a plethora of adventure sports gear and remain capable as a daily driver. That’s a tall order to fill, but it’s one this luxury SUV has delivered on as a result of careful selection of quality parts and the omission of other parts.

A custom-built Trailready front bumper provides impact resistance, quality recovery points, an improved entry angle, protected PIAA off-road lighting and a solid perch for a Warn winch with Factor55 accessories. A Safari snorkel with Sy-Klone pre-cleaner allows the engine to breath cool, clean air at all times. Up top, a custom Roambuilt roof rack is fully optioned with more PIAA lighting and Yakima accessories to carry kayaks, skis and other bulky adventure gear. A Dobinsons double swing-out rear bumper carries two jerry cans and a full-sized spare.

A front body mount chop and custom-tailored Icon Stage 7 tubular suspension system allow fitment of Evocorse Dakar Zero wheels wrapped in 34-inch BFG AT2 tires. Icon knee guards protect the rear shock mounts from impacts. Custom sliders contour to the body, are welded to the frame and provide an entry/exit step for this lifted Lexus.

Playing in the sandbox with big toys is always fun.

Inside this GX 460, you’ll find Scheel-Mann front seats and a custom Goose Gear drawer and sleep platform system. Atop the drawers in back is an MSA Offroad drop slide and cage that house a National Luna fridge.

You might be saying to yourself, “Wow! That’s a lot of equipment!”—and you’d be right! But those are just the big foundational parts that help transform this luxury, three-row SUV into my personal overland adventuremobile. The details built on this foundation for daily use and remote off-road excursions are what bring this rig to life and make it capable, reliable and enjoyable daily, as well as on longer, remote off-road excursions.

Professional Electrical

With all the sitting around at shops getting custom parts created, not much travel due to COVID and at-home day job obligations, I found myself using my Cobra JumpPack Mini more often than I’d like to admit: The new Optima battery installed at SEMA Show 2019 would no longer hold a charge after under a year of use.

This meant two things. One, the electrical systems needed to be cleaned up and dialed in to not cause drains on the battery while sitting. And two, I needed a new, reliable battery that, if drained, could be brought back to life easily and would “play nice” with the smart alternator in the GX 460 overland build. The battery part was easy, and I grabbed a quality Interstate wet battery from a local store. The electrical accessories mess was a bit harder to clean up—the reason I called a professional.

No more third row … but now, there’s secure storage, cold beers and a place to sleep.

Hans at Mule Expedition Outfitters in Issaquah, Washington, came highly recommended from some trusted industry friends, and his work looked impeccable on the @mule_electric Instagram page. I wasn’t disappointed when he got his skilled hands on my GX.

Hans did a truly professional-caliber electrical job under the hood. He installed an ARB dual compressor on a quality Slee Offroad under-hood compressor mount while also fitting the Switch-Pros system on the mount. Everything was wired in such a way as to be fully serviceable and protected from any damage from heat, water or abrasion.

Everything was done in a super-tidy manner: Every wire is now labeled and fitted with properly crimped and heat-fitted connectors. There are some SDHQ billet battery terminals to round out the under-hood program; they allow for considerably more accessory wires to be fitted with ease. An extra ground fitting on the truck and an easily serviceable bus bar keep everything even more tidy and easily serviceable.

Quality suspension and tires are some of the upgrades you’ill appreciate daily.

At Mule, Hans also wired in a Goal Zero Yeti 1500x lithium battery generator with Link controller—essentially, a double battery system with inverter and solar controller, which is also portable. This system provides 500Wh of juice to power the fridge, charge my electronics and run any lights and/or accessories around camp. The Link system allows the Yeti to be charged from the alternator while I’m driving, so there’s always plenty of power around camp. A Nomad 100 portable solar panel system ensures that if I decide to stay stationary for a few days, the Yeti stays charged, and my food stays cold in the fridge.

The final touch at Mule was the install of a WeBoost Drive 4G-X OTR cell phone booster system. While this particular model is designed for use in semi-trucks, it provides maximum signal boost and broadcasts it the farthest throughout the vehicle. It’s not inexpensive, but it’s a lifesaver for when work needs to get done while I’m on remote adventures. If there’s a signal, this system ensures maximum effect.

With this re-gear, it went from an 11-tooth pinion gear to a 9, with 41 teeth remaining constant on the ring gear. This reduction in pinion teeth can, in theory, make for a weaker gear set. However, the reality is that the net gain of the reduced stresses on the driveline easily offsets that possible failure point.

You might wonder what a re-gear actually does for your vehicle. It’s a complicated thing, but it boils down to larger tires revolving less per mile, which reduces engine rpm below optimal operating ranges. Other factors that warrant a re-gear include added accessories, wider, heavier tires, mountain driving and towing situations. By re-gearing to a lower gear set (a higher numerical number), you’re bringing the rpms back up for optimal power, efficiency and overall drivability performance.

Quality accessory brackets are hard to come by, but the Slee Compressor mount is a winner!

Many modern vehicles, such as the GX 460, are geared in such a way to do well in EPA testing versus real-world driving. After the re-gear, the GX now uses 6 th gear more often; this should increase fuel efficiency when cruising on the highway. It’s also better at moving from a standstill, due to higher rpms sooner—super-handy when tackling gnarly, off-road terrain. Do note that regardless of the gearing, mileage and performance will always be negatively affected by increased weight, wind resistance and rolling resistance from off-road/overland modifications.

The Link system connects to the Yeti battery generator for charging off your vehicle battery/alternator.

The Goal Zero Yeti 1500x lithium battery allows electronics to charge,  and it keeps beer cold and the lights on around camp.

Re-Gear Necessary for the GX 460 Overland Build

After adding all the heavy modifications and much taller tires, the GX was feeling quite sluggish. A re-gear was the answer. It went from the stock 3.73 gears to 4.56 Nitro gears. While I haven’t yet put in enough mileage to tell you fuel economy numbers, there was an instantly noticeable drivability difference.

It apparently takes exactly seven paper towels to swap out two third-members in a GX 460. Now, that’s knowing your job! The polished team at Just Differentials has done this job thousands of times, so they really have it down to a science. I was impressed with their speed and efficiency. Again, it’s nearly always worth the time and effort to have professionals do major modifications that affect the drivability and safety of your vehicle.

While it’s a bit controversial, I like to ensure success and lean on the side of caution when it comes to the longevity of expensive parts added to the build. Nitro recommends a break-in process for its gear sets—specifically, five heat cycles. This entails traveling 15 to 20 miles, followed by a 30-minute cool down while stopped. After the heat cycle break-in process, Nitro recommends a full diff drain at 500 miles. This allows you to check the fluids for any signs of an issue and put in new fluid that should last for tens of thousands of miles, depending on use.

Selectable Lockers for the GX 460 Overland Build

Not only is the dual compressor under the hood for airing up tires after long days of rugged terrain aired-down fun, it also runs the freshly installed ARB AirLockers. While Just Differentials was building up the third members with new gears the team also installed both front and rear AirLockers.

This might be considered overkill for many overland-style builds, but I wanted the ability to tackle really rough and challenging terrain. I also regularly find myself exploring alone as a single vehicle, which means self-reliance is super-important. Selectable lockers are powerful tools to have in your recovery quiver.

Clean new third members with 4.56 Nitro Gears and ARB AirLockers are ready to go ito the GX.

One of my favorite things to do is find through-routes in spectacular, remote locations; many times, this means tackling the random serious obstacle in order to continue on the more moderate route. It also often means dealing with muddy, sandy and wet/snowy and/or icy conditions. Selectable lockers are a great tool for dealing with these more extreme terrain and low-traction situations.

Lessons Learned for the GX 460 Overland Build

Items such as wiring—which could possibly burn down your vehicle if done improperly but can also can affect if it starts and runs—is a great place in your build to pay a professional to do it right . It’s money well spent, and you’ll thank yourself later when hunting down an electrical “gremlin” in your friend’s vehicle and trying to get it moving when you’re in the middle of nowhere.

Another key takeaway from my build process is: Tackle upgrades in groups. Yes, this could mean bigger chunks of cash outlay, but it also means less money and time outlay in the end. A great example of this is having the AirLockers installed by Just Differentials while its team was already in there to do the re-gear. This greatly reduced the labor costs of that job, as well as the time my vehicle spent, inoperable, at a shop.

The biggest consideration all vehicle builders should heed is to pay attention to your GVWR and the actual loaded weight of your build. This is often overlooked when throwing all the latest and greatest parts at our vehicles.

On my first major trip after completing the major mods, I drove across a truck scale fully loaded with gear, fuel, water, food (and me) in it, because that’s the true cargo normally on board. I learned that my rig is about 150 pounds over the GVWR when fully loaded. That insight has greatly influenced the build; and I continue to find ways to reduce my gear weight and not install new, heavy parts. I’d love more skid plate protection and an extended-range fuel tank, but I’m unwilling to add another 200 to 300 pounds plus fuel weight to my already-heavy build.

Vehicle Builds Are Never Done

Of course, as with all vehicle builds, my GX will continue to evolve over time, both to meet new needs and objectives and as parts wear out or accidents happen and cause damage. I still have a running list of odds and ends to finish up, but I’m extremely happy with how the vehicle has turned out.

It’s time to point this vehicle to destinations unknown and put all these awesome upgrades to good use! The biggest lesson here is to only spend money and time on upgrades you’ll actually use and that will improve your adventure experience. Otherwise, that money and time are better spent actually adventuring.

Installation

The air box is the lungs of the 4WD, and the air filter can only handle so much dust before it either chokes or deteriorates allowing dust to enter the engine potentially causing serious mechanical damage.

The Ironman 4x4 Airforce Snorkel is designed and manufactured to the tightest of tolerances to ensure a perfect fit. The function of the snorkel is to capture cleaner and cooler air while travelling off-road, with the added function of raising your air intake away from river water during crossings.

By using computational fluid dynamics simulations and real-world testing, Ironman 4x4 engineers designed the snorkel not only to complement the shape of the vehicle but also to ensure airways are unobstructed allowing a constant flow of air.

The unique Ironman 4x4 angled ram-air head design deflects rain for superior airflow and water dispersion.

Constructed from UV-stabilized polyethylene plastic, the snorkel is made with longevity in mind, withstanding the harsh Australian sun.

Vehicle Fitment

Required some modification to the truck to fit a Lexus GX460.

WE LIKE TO CUT OUT THE BIG HOLE FIRST, THEN HOLD THE SNORKEL UP AGAINST THE VEHICLE TO DOUBLE CHECK WHERE ALL THE OTHER HOLES ARE GOING TO LINE UP BEFORE I DRILL. JUST SAYIN'

Hey, does anybody know which Safari Snorkel fits the GX470 and where's the best place to get one?

Safari I am not sure you can source, but you can get the ebay, iron man, etc. They are the Prado 120 diesel snorkel. If you find one for the 03-09 120 series prado with the diesel, it will work on the GX. (I have the iron man).  

If you're set on the Safari snorkel, just call your nearest ARB dealer and they will take care of you. I'm planning on going with the Safari as well when I get around to it. Good luck

I purchased my Safari Snorkel from Kevin at Endless Horizon Outifitters. It was the Diesel Prado model. Shipped to my door in about a week.

If you’re lifted, and have wheeled, you have undoubtedly encountered some kdss lean. In the 4 years of working with my 2005 GX470 sport with kdss, I have run into this issue multiple times, and developed this kit to run extended travel rear shocks and help combat kdss lean.  The same applies to the Lexus GX460 and Toyota 4Runner 5th Gen

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?!

▪️KDSS is a complete system front and rear, that works in tandem. The driver side has an articulating cylinder and the passenger side has a rigid link, connected to the LCA (or axle in rear) via a large sway bar. They work together via hydraulic lines and accumulators that open and close to allow fluid to flow, or not flow, depending on speed. On a stock vehicle this allows for extended wheel travel vs a standard sway bar setup AND sports car type handling at speed.

▪️When your vehicle is lifted, the cylinder extends as the vehicle is raised, but the passenger side can’t due to that rigid link. This is what causes your lean.

What we developed, will equalize the pressure in the system via a set of spacers (1 in front, 2 in rear) that are utilized within the KDSS system itself and return the angle of the sway bar back to OEM angles after a lift has been installed. In turn, this will dramatically reduce or eliminate your lean.

These are 6061 aluminum, type III hard coat anodized in black, and supplied with new hardware..

*This may require modification to your factory skid plates

*While we have had fantastic results reducing and eliminating lean, due to the nature of the KDSS system it is still possible to experience some lean. A proper KDSS balance and the use of our spacers are the best option for maximizing wheel travel, while minimizing lean.

Your 48-hour tour guide of Moscow this winter!

9 am – Visit the Red Square 

Christmas market on Red Square

The first thing that every tourist should do by default is visit the very heart of Moscow – it’s main and most beautiful (which ‘krasnaya’ actually meant in Old Russian) square! 

There are several ways to explore it:

• Take a selfie with Spasskaya Tower
• Have a warm drink at the Christmas market (which lasts until mid-January)
• Visit Lenin’s Mausoleum
• Shop in the gorgeous adjacent GUM department store
• Visit St. Basil’s Cathedral (and learn that it’s actually several churches under one roof).           

11 am – It’s Kremlin time! 

Inside the Moscow Kremlin

Entering the Kremlin is, actually, a bit of a quest, as it’s a presidential facility with no general access. You need to buy a ticket or, better still, book a guided tour. Inside the Kremlin’s walls, you will find ancient cathedrals, in which Russian tsars used to be crowned and buried, as well as explore the magnificent architecture of the Kremlin that reflects the rich history of the country. And, finally, you could also make a quick visit to the Moscow Kremlin Museums and admire artifacts from various Russian tsarist eras: carriages, thrones, crowns and the most incredible armory and jewelry. 

For more information, visit the official website of the Kremlin . It’s open from 10 am to 5 pm (and it’s closed on Thursdays) in winter.

2 pm – Watch the changing of the Guard

A very spectacular (and free) thing to do is watch how the honor guard does their ceremonial change at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Eternal Flame, situated in Alexander Garden, right next to the Kremlin wall. Every hour, from 8 am to 8 pm, the 1st Company of the Kremlin (Presidential) Regiment performs this rather old and beautiful tradition. But, be warned, it's often overcrowded. 

3 pm – Enjoy a green oasis just in the center

Florarium in Zaryadye

Just a few steps from the Red Square, you will find the fabulous Zaryadye park. Opened in 2017, it is designed by renowned American architect bureau ‘Diller Scofidio + Renfro’. You can walk among the very cozy botanical decorations and explore Russia’s climate zones, as each of them is represented in dedicated areas, complete with flora from those zones.

The park also has an underground museum, an “ice cave” and a 3D cinema, where you can take part in a virtual adventure – a flight over Moscow! However, the piece de resistance is a floating boomerang bridge over the Moskva River, one of the best places to take a selfie.

You can also grab a quick lunch or relax with a cup of coffee or tea in the park.

7 pm – Arrange a ballet night

The Bolshoi Theater

Of course, the most fancy way to finish your day in Moscow would be to go to the ballet at the Bolshoi Theater (in a perfect world, to see ‘The Nutcracker’!). However, getting tickets to the Bolshoi is not an easy task and should be done well in advance of your visit. 

But, don’t be upset if you don’t manage to get tickets to the Bolshoi. Moscow has dozens of other options to see a ballet (or opera). No less brilliant performances can be seen in the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theater or in The State Kremlin Palace (by the way, this is another way to get a quick glimpse inside the Kremlin!).

10:30 pm – Have a late dinner in a fancy restaurant

There are not so many other cities with such a big choice of restaurants in a range of tastes and styles. In 2021, the authoritative Michelin guide announced their pick of the best of Moscow’s restaurants. And here’s our guide to all the places with Russian cuisine for any budget. But, if you happen to be in the area of the Bolshoi or Nemirovich-Danchenko Theater, then ‘Dr. Zhivago’ would definitely be a nice option (and it’s open around the clock).

DAY 2 

9 am – grab a moscow coffee.

Moscow is definitely a coffee city! You can find coffee shops on every corner and they all offer a huge range of drinks. Try a ‘raf’ coffee, a sweet, creamy drink that was created in Russia, or dare to pick one of the very unusual offers, like cheese coffee or a Soviet candy style one (check out our coffee guide here ).

10 am – Take a river cruise

Another exciting way to explore Moscow is to observe it from the water. Boats cruise along the Moskva River all year round. Most begin their route from the Hotel Ukraine, one of Stalin's ‘Seven Sister’ skyscrapers, and will bring you back to the same spot after passing the medieval Novodevichy Convent, Moscow State University and Luzhniki Stadium, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and giant monument to Peter the Great and many other sightseeings. 

It’s always at optimum temperature inside the boat, which also has huge panoramic windows. Select boats also offer a full dining experience, so it is also a nice place to have breakfast or lunch.

1 pm – Visit ‘Russia’ Expo and taste a bunch of Russian regional cuisines

Until April 2024, the Soviet-era VDNKh exhibition park is hosting the huge ‘Russia’ expo, with tons of activities and expositions devoted to Russia, its culture, science and nature. Check out our special guide on what to do there!  

An entire ‘House of Russian Cuisine’ has been opened at the expo. You will find 15 food stands with flagship dishes from Kamchatka, Siberia, Karelia and other regions of Russia. Imagine trying a range of cuisines and dishes in one place without even having to travel anywhere, be it Altai pelmeni, Tula kalach or Caucasian pies! A perfect place to grab some lunch.

The VDNKh exhibition park is a great place to visit, in general! Its pavilions are the perfect example of Stalinit Empire style architecture and you can almost feel as if you’ve traveled back in time! You will also find several interesting museums in the park – devoted to space exploration, Russian history and even a ‘Special Purpose Garage’, which showcases the various vehicles used by the country’s leaders.

And, finally, you can ride Europe's tallest panoramic wheel – ‘Sun of Moscow’ – that will give you panoramic views of the city – from a height of 140 meters!

5 pm – Ice skate with view & mulled wine

Ice skating is one of the most popular and affordable activities in Moscow. There are several great ice skating rinks in picturesque locations that are open all winter long. One of the biggest rinks in Europe is also at the aforementioned VDNKh or you can visit the one in Gorky Park, another very popular Moscow spot, or the small, but fancy rink – right on Red Square! 

All the parks offer ice skate rental, so the only things you need are warm clothes, a charged phone to record your memories and a good mood!  Moscow also gets dark at 4:30 pm in winter and hundreds of lights are switched on, turning the city into a giant fairy tale!

And, if you are not a sports person, we’ve picked several other unusual activities that you could do in Moscow instead. For example, did you know that there is an entire district of dacha (countryside) houses, just 10 minutes from the center, surrounded by giant new highrises? How about taking a stroll there and feeling the early Soviet atmosphere?

8 pm – Warm up & laugh out loud

After all these outdoor activities, what could be better than a warm cozy bar with a hot drink and nice company? Moscow is a city full of entertainment for all tastes. So, if you know the Russian language or want to practice it, go to a theater or catch a stand-up comedy show. Moscow even has comedy shows in English, where you can hear both Russians speaking fluent English or foreigners (including Brits and Americans) who live in Russia speaking in broken or heavily-accented Russian (Check their show dates on the ‘ Moscow English Comedy ’ Telegram channel)!

11 pm – Finish by partying the night away!

Moscow never sleeps, as you might have heard. Which means there are plenty of bars and nightclubs where you can have a drink (or two or three; be sure to check out how Russians make Black Russian and White Russian cocktails) and chat with incredibly different people. Have fun and don’t miss your flight (or miss it and stay longer in the best city in the world!)!

We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you.
