For a long time, Amsterdam has lured travelers in with its laid-back vibes, stunning canals, and exquisite scenery.

But if there’s one aspect of the Dutch capital that is highly underrated, it’s the foodie scene! Yup, Amsterdam is a bonified foodie paradise. Yeah, every time I visit I practically gorge on pancakes.

So, to make the most of your visit, you should 100% book one of the best food tours in Amsterdam .

After all, trying one of the best foodie tours Amsterdam has to offer is a great way to avoid tourist traps and enjoy premium versions of iconic Dutch dishes.

I should know. I tried doing a self-guided food tour and just ended up getting lost and eating Amsterdam foods that were mediocre at best.

Yeah, I have been back to Amsterdam many times since and try to do a food tour in Amsterdam every time I am there.

But. enough chit-chat. Instead, let’s embark on a gastronomic journey that explores the best Amsterdam food tours !

Best Foodie Tour in Amsterdam – My Tops Picks

#1 🏆 pick for the best food tour in amsterdam.

If you want the best food tour in Amsterdam then I personally recommend this Amsterdam Food Lovers Tour . It’s a fun, offbeat food tour where you can sample eight classic Dutch dishes. The group is also small and the guides help create a warm and welcoming environment.

1. Amsterdam: Food Lovers Tour – Take a bite of Amsterdam!

View of the apple pie with whipped cream from Winkel 43,

⭐️ Rating: 5.0/5.0 (73 Reviews) Price: $64.86 per person Duration: 3.5 hours 📍Meeting Point: Office at Via Del Colosseo 24 Operator: Shaker Cocktail Club Details : Read more on Get Your Guide Now!

If you only do one foodie tour in Amsterdam then let this Amsterdam Food Lover’s Tour be it.

I mean, I did this tour the last time I spent 3 days in Amsterdam and was TOTALLY blown away.

Don’t get me wrong. I love the Heri Willig Experience below. But, this food tour in Amsterdam is a bit more personal. It’s like a cool Amsterdam walking tour fused with an epic food tour.

“This was a fantastic tour! My only regret is we didn’t do it the first day we were in Amsterdam. Romain is the best guide! He is so personable and friendly; he keeps the tour small and makes an effort to learn your name and a bit about you. It was a little rainy the day we went and he even had umbrellas for us! You get to experience the best of the best, not just the places the tourist guides tell you to go. We would have never found all the places we visited. Definitely don’t eat! It’s a lot of food. The fresh stroopwafel was amazing! The little cafe at the end with the apple tart was also a highlight. I won’t spoil the rest of it, experience it for yourself. You also learn a lot about Amsterdam culture and history. Roman took a lot of pictures and sent them after the tour along with restaurant recommendations throughout the city. Romain also hosts a cocktail workshop that sounds super cool, wish we had more time to do it. Do this tour! You will have a great time.” Lisa ( read more reviews now )

So, you’ll begin your experience near the flower market. You’ll then wind your way through the idyllic neighborhood of Jordaan.

The cheeses were nicely arranged on a wooden board, the dips in small bowls. You could choose between red wine and beer (for the second course between port wine and strong beer). Everything delicious! The shop has nothing to do with “museum” and the same cheese is supposed to be cheaper in the supermarket (it’s not available at Albert Heijn). We liked it.” Anonymous ( read more reviews now )

We had a wonderful time with Thijs. All the food stops were excellent and Thijs was extremely informative and friendly. It was not only a food tour, but a tour of different areas of Amsterdam with great background information. Would highly recommend. It’s a no brainer.

Highly recommend this tour, Bo was a fantastic tour guide. The history, shops and food were incredible. We did this on a rainy day and loved every minute of the tour.

Catherina was fantastic. She was funny, engaging, and entertaining. It was a good mix of food, culture, and history and it was perfect. It was Hazella!

Our guide Mark was excellent. His deep knowledge of the history of Holland and Amsterdam in particular was top notch. Sharing his knowledge of Amsterdam from its early days of it being a commercial power in merchant trade and how this influenced the cuisine and culture of Amsterdam to this day. We visited small shops with expertise in traditional local foods. From apple pie made with apples only found in Amsterdam to an excellent cheese shop whose cheese master recently was awarded the world gold medal. I cannot more highly recommend this tour if you are both a foodie and history buff as me 🙂

My wife and I had a great time on this food tour. We learned a lot about the history and culture of the area, and we tasted a variety of delicious foods. Catharina was a fantastic tour guide, very personable, and a true local, as evidenced by the various passers-by greeting her as we walked around Jordaan. I highly recommend this tour!

Marc was a fantastic guide! Knowledgeable, funny, and warm. We stopped at very “off the beaten path” stops that gave us a real sense for the different tastes of Amsterdam, as well as a better understanding of its history.

Excellent! First trip to Amsterdam? This is a must do on your list. Second visit to Amsterdam? Ok, you didn’t have time or didn’t know about it on you first visit. Do not pass this by. By far one of the most pleasant tours. Superior tour guides with award winning personalities blending local knowledge with some basic history of Amsterdam create a cohesive food trail that all comes together as a delightful little feast. Thank you Katrina and Thijs. Ok…. Stop reading …..Book it NOW! 😊👍

Enjoyed this tour, travelling solo it was an opportunity to taste local food, gain an insight into local culture and help find my way around. Tony’s Chocolonely shop was fun.

We loved this tour so much. We came as a family of three including a young teenager and it was wonderful for all of us. Thijs, the founder, was our guide, and he was delightful. So friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, and the discussion of history and local information was always interesting. I highly recommend Amsterdam Food Tours!

Our family enjoyed a delicious tour with Marc, who we found to be engaging, educational and very personable. We found little local gems we would never have found otherwise, and tasted some great food. Marc’s stories wove the culinary experience into the history of the Netherlands beautifully, which deepened our appreciation of Dutch culture. Definitely go hungry, if you can. There are no big meals, but it adds up to a lot of food over the course of just a few hours. We would definitely take a tour with Marc again.

This was by far the best food tour I have been on! There are so many unique places included and so much food- well worth the price! We had cheeses, drinks, chocolate, Indonesian food, apple pie, and meats. By the end of the day you won't need to eat dinner! I highly recommend this tour! Bo, our guide, was fantastic and great at sharing the history of Amsterdam and the history/processes of each food and store.

Bo was the best!! Amazing experience, I would recommend to family and close fiends 10 out of 10 times.

Thinking of taking a food tour? Get Rudolph as he is truly local and seems to know everyone in town. He focuses on a little history, art, and culture. Great sense of humor to boot! Can't go wrong!!!

Loved our walk with Marc last week! He provided detailed historical context to what we saw and food we tried!

Did the tour with Marc. I always try and make sure the first thing I do in a new city is go on a food tour. As this gives me a taste of the culture, history and most importantly cuisine of the area Today's tour was fantastic, full of good facts, historic buildings and small local businesses this was a great introduction to Amsterdam. I wish I could name a favourite stop, but everything was special in its own way. Photos lacking as I was usually too busy eating...

Absolutely fabulous Grand Dutch Food and History Tour with Marc! We loved all the food and drinks, especially as they were from local businesses we probably wouldn't have found ourselves. But even more, I appreciated Marc's deep knowledge of the history and the city. Truly fascinating to talk with him. Also enjoyed the small group size as well, which allowed us to visit some small food destinations, like a delightful cheese shop. Thanks, Marc!!

Food tour guide was friendly knowledgeable and took care of her customers throughout the 3 hours. Never felt rushed and well thought out venues to experience

We had such an amazing experience with Rudolph and the Grand Dutch Food and Amsterdam Tour! So many good places to eat, drink and learn about on our way. I would come back to Amsterdam just to take another tour with Rudolph and Amsterdam Food Tours.

We had the chance two weeks ago to organize a tour with Amsterdam Tour for us and our students and it was amazing. Caroline, Thijs, and Rudolph organized us a wonderful tour, really inspiring. They understood what we were looking for and they took the time to welcome us with kindness and with joy. We definitely recommend this tour.

Best food tour such a small intimate group we learned so much about the food and the history behind everything 10/10 much do!

My husband and I were very lucky to have Rene has our guide! We learned so much about the history of Amsterdam while enjoying delicious food along the way. Rene was an excellent guide. It felt like we were chatting with a friend by the end of the tour. Highly recommend!

This was an amazing tour and a highlight of my trip. Our guide Rudolph was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and history of the city. We had a great variety of food and drinks, all of which was delicious!

We took the Grand Dutch Food Tour with Bo and she was fabulous. This was a first class tour with top of the line food and drinks, and lots of time to sit comfortably and talk about Amsterdam's history and the food (and lots of other things!) It was four hours total, and went by in a flash. We had lots of food tastings (easily enough for a full meal), as well as multiple stops including drinks such as coffee, hot cocoa, beer, wine/mixed drinks of choice, and water (a rarity on food tours). It was a spectacular introduction to Amsterdam and all the wonderful traditional foods. Would recommend 100% to anyone!

Great tour! Local guide, Caroline, was great and being from here she knew the area very well. Provided great information and 6 different stops to experience different food/drinks/culture of Amsterdam. Got a great locals experience! Also liked it was a small group experience. Well worth the time and money.

Caroline was very informative. She explained the areas ,its history, and all the food so well. The food was delicious. Would recommend this tour as it really gives an insight to Amsterdam history and food

Fabulous experience with Jacky! Wonderful way to see the Jordaan neighborhood of Amsterdam, learned fascination Amsterdam and Dutch history, and delicious food and drink.

The Amsterdam Food Tour was amazing! Thijs was our guide and very knowledgeable about the food, local area, the people that make the food, ethnic and cultural influences, and the story that combines it all together. I loved that all the food we ate was from family and local businesses. I have done food tours in other cities and this one is not one of the best, but the very BEST! Need recommendations on local eateries, Thijs was always willing to help. I would very highly recommend this tour.

The best food! Everyone was super friendly and we were able to try so many places!

Tolle private Tour mit Super Guide ! Lohnt sich

Thank you Jaqueline for awonderful tour through the Jordaan! Knowledgeable guide that gives you access to nice spaces around Amsterdam where you wouldn't (be able to) end up on as a regular tourist. Our hostess was nice and knowledgeable, provided insights in the connection of Dutch history with the food we were eating. Teamed up with another party, our group was perfectly sized at 8 people, also nice to meet get to know them. Definitely recommended.

I'm a bit slow with this review but we are already planning our next trip back to Amsterdam in September this year and are considering doing another Amsterdam Food Tours because our first one with Rudolph last September was so brilliant. I wasn't sure whether doing a 3 hour tour the first day we arrived in Amsterdam after a 24 hour long haul flight from Australia was a good idea but it turned out to be the best! We did the Jordaan Food Tour. Rudolph is the best tour guide you could possibly hope to get. He is friendly, well educated and articulated and has an excellent sense of humour. It was so much fun to be shown around the Jordaan area with a guide as knowledgeable and charming as Rudolph. Doing this tour on the first day really got us our bearings around the city quickly and we knew where we wanted to go back to try again after the tour. Highly recommended.

Excellent tour with stops for Apple pie, wine and cheese, fish, candy, sausage and more!

Would definitely recommend! The tour had a great variety of food and locations to visit. The group was small which made it easy to navigate and ask questions. Rudolph was an excellent guide. You could tell he really enjoys giving the tours and sharing his knowledge.

Very enjoyable tour, and a nice way to experience Amsterdam. Jelte was a very friendly and informative host. Would recommend

This was a wonderful food tour and I highly recommend it!

Thijs was great, we had a small group of 8 and he took us to some amazing places, tasting great food and drink. He gave lots of information about the history of Amsterdam and the canal boat tour was perfect! Highly recommend.

Without doubt the best part of our weekend break. Not only was it hugely entertaining and informative, but Thijs and the food producers he introduced us to clearly have a passion for Amsterdam, the Jordaan district and its food. The tour was well paced and with a good balance of history and food tasting. Lots of opportunities to ask questions - Thijs was very knowledgeable. There was a wide range of gourmet delights on route - herring, bittenballen, Indonesian treats, apple pie, brigadeiro - something to suit everyones tastes. We also aded on a boat tour which was the icing on the cake. Took the tour to over five hours but worth it. Beautiful restored old wooden cruiser that took us around the canals with a quick stop for bittenballen on the way, washed down with crisp white wine. Perfect. Thijs had a lovely way of making us feel less like tourists and more like his personal guests. Thanks once again for a truly memorable tour!

Donald was the best guide! Generous with his knowledge and his time. We experienced a wonderful variety of foods in different locations in a beautiful neighborhood. What more could you ask?

Amazing day with Gerard. We ended up with a private tour as we were the only people in the group. We ate local fish, pea stew, beer , gin, apple pie, sate etc. was too full to eat the rest of day. We also learned much history and enjoyed each others company. Well worth it! Thanks again Gerard !

Our family visited Amsterdam to kick off 2023 and had the pleasure of being with Rudolph. His charm and humor made for a fun afternoon and the food was great too. From apple pie to meats to cheeses and beer, he exposed us to a variety of local favorites. It’s a great way to walk the neighborhood, spend time together experiencing local culture, and get a lesson in history. We enjoyed our afternoon and highly recommend this tour. A+ to Rudolph!

Our guide was Marc and he was absolutely phenomenal! We always do a food tour while on vacation and this is the best one we have taken and was a highlight to our trip. Marc was a great guide and shared so much about the history of the country and Amsterdam. The food spots were amazing and don’t worry if you are gluten free they have you covered with yummy treats too! We were not rushed at all and actually the last spot we just hung out with our group and had a few more drinks and snacks! Such a great day

My wife and I booked the Jordaan Dutch Food Tour, we had a great time not only did we enjoy the food and wine Rudolph’s extensive knowledge of Amsterdam made the experience very interesting, he also gave us an insight into Dutch family life over the Christmas period. A lovely man with a great sense of humour, we have a group of friends coming to Amsterdam in the summer we told them they must book a tour with Rudolph, we will also be back next year and will be booking a tour with Rudolph’ Kind regards Gina & Mick Henderson

I’m lucky enough to have been to Amsterdam several times over the years, this tour with Rudolph is one of the best experiences Ive ever had here. Rudolph is an amazing tour guide sharing the history of Amsterdam with great personality and sense of humor. It’s hard to pick a favorite food spot as they were all amazing! Excited to bring my family and friends on this tour next time. I highly recommend you do the same.

This is a fantastic food tour. Our guide was simply amazing. She was very knowledgeable and fun. The best way to get the history of Amsterdam. Totally worth it!

Rudolf was a wonderful tour guide. He was a wealth of knowledge of both Amsterdam’s history and the Jordaan district’s food nooks. We had 4 hours of different tastes of this vibrant city in a friendly small group (5). This was a great introduction to the Netherlands for me, led by a very affable guide. Thank you.

Tour guide, Monique, was excellent. She provided insights into the people of the Netherlands, history, architecture. She brought us to very interesting food stops. I highly recommend this leader and tour.

The Amsterdam food tour was great!! We had a wonderful guide who took us to many different places where we were able to sample food and wine. I highly recommend this tour!!

Our guide Mark was knowledgeable, and maintained good interaction with the group. He was engaging and informative on the local history and culture along the tour. The food selections were high end, all delicious, at cosy spots, and paired with alcoholic refreshments at some stops. A very enjoyable afternoon, and the small group was a perfect size for the experience.

If I could give this 6 stars I would. Rudolph was a fantastic tour guide. He was a wealth of knowledge and he took the time to answer all our questions and point our bits of architecture that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. As for the tour, we went to great little spots I would not have gone to myself. All the restaurants were prepared for our arrival as well which was nice. I highly recommend this tour!

While every listener will likely come away with their own favorites, we particularly enjoyed the sleek, synthy “Fortnight,” icy “So Long, London,” anthemic “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” a bombastic slow build of “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and gorgeously arranged “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus.”

If you want to give it a spin — if you’re one of the few people on the planet that hasn’t already, that is — you can find “The Tortured Poets Department”  here .

The Hayley Williams-fronted pop-punk rockers are opening for Swift from May through August this year. This may come as a bit of a surprise to some fans considering that the group mounted a successful arena tour of their own in 2023.

That tour came on the heels of Paramore’s 2022 reunion; Prior to that, the band had been on a five-year hiatus.

For fans who want to check out their latest, their 2023 album “This Is Why” can be heard  here .

Huge stars on tour in 2024

Although it will cost an arm and a leg (sometimes more!) to see Swift live this year, there are much more affordable — likely stateside — concerts you can attend this year.

Here are just five of our favorite artists you won’t want to miss live.

•  Olivia Rodrigo

•  Kacey Musgraves

•  Gracie Abrams

•  Billie Eilish

Taylor swift's surprise songs from night 1 of the eras tour in amsterdam, including the return of the archer, share this article.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour continued its international journey on Thursday night in the Netherlands (afternoon in the United States) with the first of three shows in Amsterdam. The now 14-time Grammy winner will be touring almost non-stop for the entire year, and at each show she adds two “surprise songs” to her 44-song, three hour plus set list.

Pink cancels concert in Switzerland after consulting with doctor: ‘So disappointed’

Pink canceled a Wednesday concert in Switzerland over an unspecified health problem, she announced Tuesday.

“I am so sorry that I have had to cancel my show in Bern this Wednesday,” she wrote on social media . “I do everything I can to ensure I can perform for you every night, but after consultation with my doctor and exploring all options available, I’ve been advised that I’m unable to continue with the show.”

‘I love setting the bar higher and higher,’ says Pink, who brings her hit-filled, acrobatic show to SoFi Stadium on Thursday.

Pink, who noted she had been looking forward to “making memories” with fans, said she was “so disappointed” at the cancellation. Ticket holders will get refunds.

It remains unclear if there will be any changes to the upcoming Saturday concert in Copenhagen, but the singer said she was hoping to see fans again soon.

Pink’s representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday.

In June, right as her tour kicked off in Wales, Pink revealed that she was powering through symptoms of a stomach bug.

“A little food poisoning can’t stop us,” she wrote in the caption.

Pink’s Summer Carnival Tour, supporting her new album, “Trustfall,” is scheduled to continue throughout the fall. She’s slated to return to North America in August after stops in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Sweden.

Last October, Pink told The Times’ Mikael Wood in between concerts that performing live was “the arena I belong in.”

“We rehearse to a certain extent for safety,” she said. “But you never know what’s gonna happen. And I’m never in my head. The second I step onstage, I’m in my heart, I’m in my body. There’s no other place that I operate — as a Virgo, as a mother, as the most responsible person I know — like the stage. It’s where I live.”
