SDP zum ersten Mal in Bremen: Es war der absolute Wahnsinn. Showprogramm vom Feinsten war wieder dabei, ob die typischen Riesen-Bälle und Vinc‘s Wiederbelebungsversuche oder auch das Alte-Songs-Glücksrad. Soundtechnisch auch klasse, die Athmosphäre durchgängig geil. Ich kann also im Februar schon sagen: Die geilste Feier des Jahres! War nun mein zweites SDP-Konzert und: es lohnt sich jedes Mal wieder und wird nicht mein letztes gewesen sein <3

Eine mega Stimmung und jede Menge denkwürdiger Momente. Die Halle war gut gefüllt und obwohl man wirklich lange bei der Garderobe anstehen musste, war es das alles wert. Die beiden Jungs sind live noch durchgedrehter und verrückter, als in den Videos und es gab unendlich viel zu lachen. Großartige Show:D

Yes, I can confirm that Motivx 2320 64.3mm 14 flute tool is the correct one. But that filter could still be a bear to get undone the first time. On the oil level, did you use the correct method to check it (as per the owners manual)?  

Yeah ... On the center stand, on level ground with the dipstick seated without being threaded warmed for 5 mins .. basically the same way as on my VTX 1800.  

I' am sure this will do the job, when I was shopping for one I looked at this one and one from tool guy republic $40 I bought the one from tool guy because it was steel, I think either will work. Billy  

The Motivx fits the Honda stock filter perfectly. It is CNC machined and does not slip at all. Right tool for the right job. And as far as changing to the KN-204-1 filter, using a non-OEM filter has been discussed hundreds of times on this forum. I personally only use a Honda OEM filter. No third party filters for my bike. And why would you? Cost? you can get 2 Honda OEM filters for $16 each from Cyclemax off of Amazon: Amazon.com

But if you buy the Honda oil filter wrench you know it is going to work. What fun is that?  

The MotiveX is a much nicer tool. The Honda tool looks more or less like the tool you can buy at Walmart for $5.00 which works good enough. Nice tools always work better though.

Small Press Distribution closes, leaving indie publishers reeling

When Ross White started Bull City Press, based in Durham, N.C., “with $300 and a long-arm stapler,” a crucial element was missing: a way to get his books into the hands of readers. The major distributors were uninterested. “We were too small to be of notice at between four and 10 titles a year,” he said. “We did not have the prominence, we did not have the money or the clout, to go it alone.”

He and nearly 400 other indie publishers — many specializing in experimental genres and emerging writers — turned to Small Press Distribution (SPD) to bring their titles to major online retailers and brick-and-mortar shops nationwide. “For bookstores that wanted to carry a robust literary section or poetry section,” said Mary Gannon, executive director of the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses, “SPD was one of the go-to distributors.” And for publishers like White, he said, SPD “was an utter necessity.”

So when the nonprofit announced last week that it was folding after 55 years in business, presses were blindsided, anxious about their futures and desperate to find out what would happen to their combined 300,000 books held by SPD.

“We know this news is both sudden and devastating,” the group’s executive director, Kent Watson, said in an email to the company’s partners Thursday. Despite efforts to raise funds and cut costs — including by transferring all inventory from its former warehouse in Berkeley, Calif., to facilities owned by Ingram Content Group in Tennessee and Publishers Storage and Shipping (PSSC) in Michigan — the distributor had exhausted its options and would close immediately. “Years of declining sales and the loss of institutional support from almost every foundation that annually supported SPD have combined to squeeze our budget beyond the breaking point.”

For now, questions about alternate distribution are on the back burner for many publishers, as they scramble to figure out who has possession of their physical stock and what will become of it — and from there, how to fulfill recent orders and pay author royalties. SPD’s remaining staff was busy winding down operations, Watson told publishers, referring them to Ingram and PSSC with any questions. (Neither he nor SPD’s finance director, Andrew Pai, responded to interview requests. The president of its board of directors, Alan Bernheimer, declined to offer additional comment.)

Recent years have been turbulent for the company. Allegations of wage theft and workplace harassment triggered an internal investigation, leading to the resignation of its executive director in 2021. When Watson was named to the role, he seemed to usher in an optimistic chapter, announcing ambitious changes to SPD’s operating model in 2023. This included the move from the Berkeley warehouse, which would lower SPD’s expenses and allow it to offer new services, such as print-on-demand as well as e-book and audiobook distribution. A GoFundMe to finance the transition exceeded its $100,000 goal, and the transfer was declared complete last February. Three days before the shutdown, a new fundraiser for SPD was still accepting new donations.

Some publishers had recently experienced logistical issues and lapses in communication about inventory and sales reports — but nothing that seemed out of the ordinary.

“It seemed like growing pains,” said Abigail Beckel, co-publisher of Rose Metal Press, which was among SPD’s largest clients. The distributor had put in large orders for new shipments of books just a few weeks ago, and no one on staff gave any indication that there was trouble on the horizon.

“It’s just sort of unconscionable, honestly,” Beckel said. She estimates that SPD has two-thirds of her press’s inventory and owes the publisher at least $40,000 from fall and winter sales. “All of us work on a shoestring.”

“SPD has left a lot of presses, including ours, holding the bag on sales. A small press cannot absorb that much loss suddenly,” said Suzi F. Garcia, co-publisher at Noemi Press.

Diane Goettel, executive editor of Black Lawrence Press, quickly moved to launch a crowdfunding campaign to cover approximately six months of royalties owed by SPD. What would happen to the more than 18,000 books that had been in SPD’s possession was “still a question mark,” she said. “I’ve been joking with my girlfriends: What playlist do we put together for when we’re driving the U-Haul to get these books?”

Some publishers have successfully confirmed that their books were in PSSC warehouses and have begun discussing next steps with the shipping company. Others, though, reported difficulty reaching representatives from Ingram, one of the country’s largest distributors, when inquiring about their inventory. Beckel said that as of Wednesday, she received a form from Ingram that would allow Rose Metal Press to move its books to another location: “Shipping and packing are at our expense, which for a lot of us will be a lot of money, but at least we will be able to get the books moved soon,” she wrote in an email. (In response to questions from The Washington Post, Ingram sent a statement saying its staff was directly contacting affected presses: “Each publisher is unique in their needs, and we will do our best as an industry leader to assist these publishers where we can.”)

If small publishers are unable to absorb the shock, the poetry scene may be particularly affected, said Jennifer Kronovet, editor and publisher at Circumference Books. Published books — and news coverage and reviews of them — are a key component of tenure applications for academic positions, she pointed out, and their unavailability could have ripple effects on writers’ careers.

“In the United States, the life of poetry is small presses. Our poet laureate is published by a small press,” Kronovet said. “I think we saw, partially through SPD’s support, this great flowering of small presses over the past decades. Now, in my worst moments, I think: Is that not sustainable?”

The shutdown has been especially crushing for authors with launches in March and April, as bookstores have been unable to order copies of new releases from SPD.

“I was working on this book for eight years,” said Nicole Haroutunian, who is on tour to promote her debut novel, “Choose This Now,” released by Noemi Press. “All I want is for people to read it. Working with a small press — where I don’t have a publicist, I don’t have an agent right now — it’s all on me, basically. I have really done my best to set up these events and try to place interviews. Then there’s this wild curveball, where even if I do get the word out about the book — are people going to be able to get it?”

So far, she has spent $900 to buy copies of her book and make them available at events. Bookstores have told her that efforts to order the novel have been met with an “out of stock” message. Haroutunian followed up over email: “I would characterize this as a nightmare.”

Day One (Friday, October 13): Travel to the Nurburgring

After flying overnight from the US, we will officially start our trip by driving to Nurburg from our arrival airport, a drive of approximately two hours. Once we arrive in Nurburg, we will take in the sights & sounds of the Vintage race weekend happening at the track and possibly visit the Nurburgring museum.

Day Two (Saturday, October 14): Nurburgring

Track Day #1! We will be focused on driving the Nurburgring and taking in everything that makes the Nurburgring Tourist days what they are. Included in each package is four laps each day behind the wheel of a track-prepped car, fuel and lap fees. Once your laps are done, wander the car parks to see the variety of cars and motorcycles that are on hand to do laps . Want more track action? You can do more laps on your own as well as get a ride with our SPD track expert or one of the official Ring Taxis.

Day Three (Sunday, October 15): Nurburgring

Day two at the Nurburgring. You will have an additional four laps in the track-prepped car and more time to explore the Nurburgring, it's many viewpoints and possibly even the local villages.

Day Five (Tuesday, October 17): Strasbourg to Switzerland

After breakfast in Strasbourg we will continue our journey with a three-hour drive to the Bernese Alps in Switzerland (broken up by a stop at an unimaginable automotive museum), where we will be based for the next three nights. Words cannot describe some of the villages we will be visiting, such as Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Interlaken.

Day Six (Wednesday, October 18): AXALP!

There will be many highlights of the Swiss portion of the tour but one of them is sure to be the Axalp airshow. Witnessing F/A-18s perform live-fire training maneuvers while carving through the mountains is one of the most incredible things you'll ever experience.

Day Seven (Thursday, October 19): More of The Alps

This will be a relaxing day that will allow us to explore the different Alpine villages in the area to take in the sights of this wonderful region.

Day Eight (Friday, October 20): Lucerne

Our last full day in Switzerland will bring us to the charming city of Lucerne. We will walk around this ancient city (originally founded in the 700s) for a taste of the metropolitan side of Switzerland.

Day Nine (Saturday, October 21): Home!

After a week of travel we will reluctantly be going home. We will depart from Zurich amazed at how many life experiences we were able to pack in over the past week and plotting our next adventure together.

Day Four (Monday, October 16): Nurburg to Strasbourg

After breakfast we will start the four-hour drive from Nurburg to Strasbourg, France. We expect to arrive in Strasbourg mid-afternoon which will leave plenty of time in the day for some sightseeing and a nice dinner. Strasbourg is home to the European Parliament and the Strasbourg City Center is a UNESCO Heritage site, so it’s definitely worth visiting. We will be spending one night in Strasbourg before moving on to Switzerland on day four.

It's been a long time coming, but... Taylor Swift has now joined Forbes' Worlds' Billionaire List.

Here's what we know.

Is Taylor Swift a billionaire?

Yes . The pop superstar, who  reached billionaire status in October , landed on Forbes'  World’s Billionaires list , the business magazine shared Tuesday. Among other celeb billionaires who made the cut — including  Rihanna ,  Kim Kardashian ,  Oprah Winfrey  and  "Star Wars"  creator George Lucas — Swift was ranked at No. 14 with a net worth of $1.1 billion.

Lucas tops the celebrity billionaire list, with a net worth of $5.5 billion — five times that of Swift.

However, the "Is It Over Now?" singer still managed to make history as the first person to reach billionaire status "based solely on songwriting and performing," according to Forbes .

Swift had a lucrative 2023, thanks in large part to her record-breaking  Eras Tour , which became the first tour in history to earn more than $1 billion. The global trek,  which kicked off in March 2023 , took in an estimated ticket gross of $1.04 billion last year from 4.35 million tickets sold, according to  music industry trade publication Pollstar .

Swift's U.S. concerts added an estimated $4.3 billion to the country’s gross domestic product in 2023,  Bloomberg reported in October .

A concert film of the tour,  "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,"  opened at the box office in October with earnings of $92.8 million. Within days, it became the highest-grossing concert film ever in North America, not accounting for inflation.

Dermot Kennedy Announces North American 2023 Sonder Tour Dates

In support of his forthcoming studio album Sonder (out 11/4), Dermot Kennedy has announced North American 2023 tour dates. See Dermot's last documented setlist from the Sonder Street Sessions on 10/12 in Brazil here . The Sonder Tour will kick off May 6 in Vancouver, BC. The headlining spring trek will run through 28 dates before wrapping in Camden, NJ on June 20.

Tickets for the Sonder Tour go on sale Friday, October 28 at 10am local time at Ticketmaster.com .

Welcome to a tour of Africa—event set for April 13

All are invited to the African Students Association’s annual Tour of Africa— a celebration of the African diaspora with cultural foods, music and performances. Through these activities, the ASA hopes to share the vibrancy and diversity of African traditions firsthand.

Who: Open to the public What: Tour of Africa: Love on the Motherland When: Saturday, April 13, 5–9 p.m. Where: Rec Center, Lower Courts

Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

Register to Attend

This year’s theme, “Love on the Motherland,” incorporates simulated weddings to provide attendees with a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the different African cultures. The “weddings” will feature couples from Ghana, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Sudan, Congo and Togo. The couples’ identities are kept secret and revealed at the event. 

“I have attended the Tour of Africa since my freshman year of high school, and there was nothing I looked forward to more than the annual performance,” ASA President Menna Tarekegne said.

“The performances stopped due to COVID-19. Reviving this event to be bigger and better has been a lot of hard work, but the Tour of Africa magic is back. We are so proud of the work we’ve done and grateful for the help from our performers, sponsors, vendors, and so many more!”

The event is Saturday, April 13. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and food will start being served at 5 p.m. The event will begin at exactly 6 p.m. and go until 9 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center Lower Courts. The event is free, but registration is required . 

Tour of Africa is sponsored by CU student groups, including the African Students Association , Cultural Events Board and CU Student Government .

DraftKings preview: Valero Texas Open

The PGA TOUR stays in Texas for another week for the Valero Texas Open. TPC San Antonio will be the host and measures as a 7,438-yard par 72 with Poa trivialis over-seeded greens.

Despite this being one week before the Masters Tournament, the field for this event is strong. Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa and Max Homa will all tee it up this week, along with defending champion Corey Conners.

Below, I have outlined three of my favorite DraftKings plays for the week.

Corey Conners ($9,400)

With some bigger names in the field this week, some may overlook Conners, even though he’s the defending champion and a two-time winner of this event. The Canadian has had a steady start to the 2024 season without missing a cut but posting zero top-10 finishes on the year.

Things have heated up recently, though, having finished T18 and T13 in his last two starts at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard and THE PLAYERS Championship, respectively. Only Keith Mitchell ranks higher in Strokes Gained: Ball-Striking than Conners over the past 24 rounds, and only Mitchell and Victor Perez sit higher in SG: Approach in the same timeframe.

Conners’ history around TPC San Antonio is well-documented, as he won this event last year and in 2019 while finishing no worse than T35 in his other three starts. You could make the argument, based on his recent form and course history, that Conners should be about $1,000 more expensive than he is this week, so I will gladly take the discount here.

Billy Horschel ($8,900)

After a difficult 2023 season, Horschel has rediscovered his game to begin this year. He finished T7 last week at the Texas Children's Houston Open, which came on the heels of a T12 at Valspar and T9 at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches. Over his past 16 rounds, Horschel ranks 11th in this field in SG: Tee-to-Green and third in Total Strokes Gained, trailing only Hideki Matsuyama and Ludvig Åberg.

It’s been the ball-striking that’s caught fire for Horschel, as he’s gained 3.8 or more strokes in that department in three of his past four starts. In addition to his strong recent form, Horschel has an elite course history at TPC San Antonio, having posted three top-four finishes and a T11 across seven starts this decade.

Horschel is rolling right now and has deservedly got a bit of a price bump because of it, but remains a good play nonetheless.

Lucas Glover ($7,300)

After losing strokes putting in pretty much every event he’s played this season, Glover finally gained on the greens at the Valspar Championship in his last start. Hopefully, he can continue that this week at the Valero, because we know his elite tee-to-green game will be there. Glover ranks seventh in this field in that department over the past 48 rounds, including sitting third in SG: Approach in the same time frame. We caught a glimpse last summer of what happens when Glover putts well: He wins. Twice in a row, in fact. Glover jumped back into the winner's circle last year by notching victories at the Wyndham Championship and FedEx St. Jude Championship.

As for his prospects this week, Glover is quite familiar with TPC San Antonio, having made five career starts here with two top-18s and a T4 in that stretch. Among golfers who have played this course more than once, only Jordan Spieth, Conners and Byeong Hun An have averaged more SG: Tee-to-Green per round than Glover.

Glover has finished T35 or better in four of his past five starts, with a T11 at Innisbrook his last time out. He offers safety here at this $7,300 price tag.

2024 Valero Texas Open one and done picks, strategy, sleepers: Golf predictions, expert PGA betting advice

The final PGA Tour event before the 2024 Masters is on tap this week with the 2024 Valero Texas Open set to tee off on Thursday at the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio. The 2024 Texas Open field will be star studded, with several players making their final preparations for next week's major championship at Augusta National Golf Club. World No. 2 Rory McIlroy enters the tournament as the 15-2 betting favorite in the latest 2024 Valero Texas Open odds. Other top contenders on the PGA odds board include Ludvig Åberg (12-1), Hideki Matsuyama (18-1), Max Homa (18-1), Jordan Spieth (18-1), Collin Morikawa (20-1), Corey Conners (22-1), and Matt Fitzpatrick (25-1). The total 2024 Valero Texas Open purse is $9.2 million, with the winner's share coming in at $1.66 million. The winner of this event will also earn 500 FedEx Cup points. 

With several big-name players in the field, would this be a good week to back a long shot like Rickie Fowler (60-1)? Or should you back one of the favorites when making your One and Done picks? Before locking in your 2024 Valero Texas Open one and done picks, you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say . 

The One and Done format is growing in popularity. It has several noticeable similarities to NFL Survivor pools, with the main difference being entries are not eliminated with a bad week. Players pick one golfer per week and earn points based on their selected golfer's prize money for that tournament. Golfers can only be used once per season, and the point format makes nailing majors, signature events, and big money tournaments critical.
