Taylor Swift is officially in her “Eras” era. On March 17 and 18, the singer kicked off her Eras tour in Glendale, Arizona, which temporarily renamed itself Swift City, ERAzona, in honor of the start of the tour.

It might only be the first leg of her Eras Tour , but Swift is already delivering when it comes to fashion. During her Glendale set, the singer sported looks from Oscar de la Renta, Alberta Ferretti and Versace, among many other notable designers. While her fans are attending the tour for the music, Swift is poised to give a mini-fashion show at each leg. WWD has rounded up some of the singer’s looks so far.

Swift unveiled another sequin Versace number during the Las Vegas leg of the Eras Tour. The silver sequin blazer dress was coordinated with silver sequin Louboutin boots that hit below the knee.

Swift donned another version of her custom bodysuit from Versace for her Arlington, Texas performance. This bodysuit came with a different color scheme, featuring sequins in bronze, gold and aqua.

Nicole Felicia Couture

Swift looked like a Disney princess come to life in this Nicole Felicia custom ballgown. The costume alluded to a previous gown Swift wore on the “Speak Now Tour” that was designed by Valentino. Swift also wore this designer in her “I Bet You Think About Me” music video.

Oscar de la Renta

For the finale act of weekend one of the Eras Tour, Swift wore two looks from Oscar de la Renta. The first was a black sequin bodysuit with fringe trim paired with sparkling black Louboutin boots, and the second was a midnight bodysuit, crystal T-shirt and lavender faux fur coat, both inspired by her “Midnights” album.

For her MetLife Stadium leg of the tour, Swift brought out Ice Spice to perform the remix of her song “Karma.” Swift wore a custom midnight blue sequin bodysuit from Oscar de la Renta.

Roberto Cavalli

Another standout look that set the internet abuzz was an asymmetrical sequin bodysuit with a beaded pattern of snakes on it referencing what some fans called her “snake era.”

In a classic Taylor Swift look, the singer wore a sparkling fringe dress with sparkling silver boots. She wore a similar gold fringe dress from Roberto Cavalli for the opening of her Speak Now Tour.

A stylie that was a testament to the craftsmanship of the Roberto Cavalli brand was a dégradé look created using thousands of hand-applied Swarovski crystals. The outfit was paired with knee-high sequin Christian Louboutin boots.

Alberta Ferretti

Swift wore two custom Alberta Ferretti gowns for her Glendale dates, both featuring Grecian and cottagecore inspiration. Both gowns were made from chiffon and featured airy fluid silhouettes.

Channeling her “Folklore” era, Alberta Ferretti created this dress for Taylor Swift channeling a wood nymph fairy. This green dress with its leaf design detail is a custom look from Alberta Ferretti’s spring 2023 collection worn for the Tampa leg of the Eras Tour.

Zuhair Murad

For another bohemian cottagecore look, Swift wore an orange ruffled, tie-front dress. The one-of-a-kind dress was created by Etro’s creative director Marco de Vincenzo.

Swift poked fun at herself in this custom T-shirt from Ashish Studio. Underneath the T-shirt, she wore a sequin bodysuit that looked like a regular pair of shorts.

On the East Rutherford leg of her tour, Ashish draped Swift in this custom red sequin duster with a trench-style silhouette. The duster contrasted with her sparkling black guitar.

Swift was the bell of her own ball for the night one of the Tampa Swift leg of her tour wearing a dark beige silk tulle ballgown featuring a silver crystal embroidered bodice with long sleeves, scoop neckline, and a dramatic, cascading skirt fully embroidered with gardenia-colored organza petals from Elie Saab’s fall 2022 couture collection.

Jessica Jones

Swift unveiled her red tiered pleated dress custom designed by Jessica Jones during the Tampa performance of the Eras Tour. She joined fellow musician Aaron Dessner on stage as they did a guitar duet.

So you did it: you survived ‘The Great War’ of ticket sales and are officially attending Taylor Swift’s highly-anticipated Eras Tour ! But now comes what might be a bigger struggle. What will you wear to the concert?! Don’t worry, we at THP are kinda obsessed with Taylor’s style, so we tracked down dupes for some of Taylor’s most iconic looks! Here’s how you can bring the Old Taylor back to life or celebrate the New Taylor on a budget.

Hey, honey! Just so you know, there are some links in this article which we may earn money from if you make a purchase using them. It’s at no extra cost to you and helps us as an independent publication massively. Thanks for supporting The Honey POP!

Speak Now World Tour

We see ‘Sparks Fly’ whenever we’re reminded of this iconic dress from Taylor’s 2010 tour! Taylor’s dress was by Roberto Cavalli , so it’d be kinda hard to get your hands on the exact piece, but these dress options will get the point across while letting you shine like fireworks. Don’t forget to curl your hair, too!

’22’ Music Video

22-year-olds , this one’s for you! We got so many incredible looks during the Red era – and the Red (Taylor’s Version) era, while we’re at it – that it was really hard to narrow down one to recommend here, but this ’22’ outfit is easily recognizable and easy to recreate. You’ll need a “not a lot going on at the moment” shirt, black shorts , a bowler hat , and some red heart glasses to match the ones she wore in certain scenes of the music video!

1989 World Tour

This is a pretty popular tour costume, but there are so many different ways to recreate it! On each night of the 1989 World Tour, Taylor wore a different sequin-jacket-and-metallic-skirt combo to perform ‘Welcome To New York, so you can really get creative with different colors. You can find some jacket options here , here , here , and here , and some skirt options here , here , and here !

‘End Game’ Music Video

We never tried to forget this incredible look from the end of the ‘End Game’ music video, but even if we did, we just couldn’t! From the fluffy blue jacket to the glitzy dress , every inch of this outfit was a serve. It’s a pretty underrated Taylor fashion moment, so we feel like not many people will be recreating it for the Eras Tour – time for you to stand out!

‘Lover’ Music Video

Another underrated music video look that we think would make a great Eras Tour costume is the sweet yellow dress from the ‘Lover’ music video! We’d start with a yellow halter dress , then pair it with dangling earrings and a thick matching headband . If your venue allows signs (be sure to check their website first!), you could even make yourself a guitar and have your friends sign it. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to meet Taylor’s band members on the floor and get their autographs?

folklore Photoshoot Checkered Dress

As fun as it can be to go all-out with a costume for your show, sometimes you just want something simple and comfy so you don’t have to worry about sequins flying everywhere or scratchy fabrics irritating your skin while you dance. We think a checkered mini-dress like the one Taylor wore for her folklore photoshoot would be a great option! You could even pair it with a cardigan dupe for something a little extra and to stay warm if your stadium show gets a little chilly.

‘willow’ Music Video

The old-timey costumes in the ‘willow’ music video are absolutely stunning, but we imagine it’d be kinda hard to dance around in a longer dress like this, especially if you’re blessed with a Rain Show. But don’t worry, we have a modern solution! This lovely mini-dress is one of the prettiest things we think we’ve ever laid eyes on, and it replicates the neckline and lace detailing of Taylor’s in a fresh, elegant way.

Have you figured out your Eras Tour outfit yet? Are you gonna try out any of these ideas? If you do, send us a pic on Facebook , Instagram , or Twitter – we’d love to see and hype you up!

Taylor Swift's Most Iconic Outfits From Her Original 'Speak Now' Era

Lena Finkel

Although there’s definitely a lot of debate, many Swifties consider Speak Now to be one of Taylor Swift’s best albums. So to say the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is highly anticipated would be an understatement.

The album gave us so many iconic songs — “Mine”, “Sparks Fly”, “Back to December”, “Mean”, and so, so many more.

Taylor’s Speak Now era also gave us a whole new aesthetic. Taylor loosened up her signature curls and traded in (most of) her princess costumes for knee-length halter dresses. While she didn’t completely ditch her country vibes — her fringe sequin mini dress and knee-high black boots still made an appearance! — it’s clear that Taylor’s style was starting to evolve.

In honor of the original Speak Now era, below are Taylor Swift’s most iconic outfits.

Taylor Swift fans are going viral for the DIY costumes they're wearing to her tour

Swifties are showing up in costumes inspired by the star herself.

Taylor Swift wears more than a dozen different outfits during The Eras Tour, each representing a moment or phase from her decade-plus-long career.

For Swifties, each outfit has a hidden message — the pink and blue bejeweled Versace bodysuit and sparkly boots is pure “Lover,” a Roberto Cavalli gold fringe dress looks like an updated version of the “Fearless” album cover.

But Swift’s outfits aren't the only ones gathering attention online. Her fans’ costumes are making headlines, too.

Since opening night on March 17, social media has been flooded with images and videos of concert-goers re-creating Swift’s most iconic looks — and people are getting pretty creative.

“Someone came as a crumpled-up piece of paper from ‘All Too Well,'” Kelsey Barnes, 30, from Toronto, who attended opening night, tells TODAY.com, laughing. “People will take the tiniest little thing that Taylor says and make an entire aesthetic out of it. It’s amazing.”

"People will take the tiniest little thing that Taylor says and make an entire aesthetic out of it. It’s amazing.”

Kelsey Barnes on TAylor Swift

For opening night, Barnes wore a blue dress channeling the one Swift wore when she first announced “Midnights,” her most recent album. Her friends, whom she attended the show with, had costumes nodding to the “ME!” music video and the album “Speak Now.”

She said the costumes have cultivated camaraderie between fans. “Everybody’s constantly complimenting each other on what they’re wearing. We had some girls run up to us and go out of their way to say they liked our outfits,” she says. But the highlight of the night was when Swift shouted out all the fans' costumes from the stage.

Below, TODAY.com catches up with other Swifties about why they’ve become costume designers for the show.

Dressing up at Taylor Swift concerts is a tradition

For many Swifties, dressing up for concerts isn't anything new. Dina Kandzic, 28, from Brooklyn, NY, has seen Swift perform 27 times, and she's assembled a different themed outfit for each tour.

“After going to almost 30 of her shows, I realized it’s getting harder and harder to stand out,” she says.

Dina Kandzic sparkles in her concert outfit, inspired by Swift's "Midnights."

When deciding what to wear this time around, Kandzic went with an outfit from an era that hadn’t gone on tour: “Midnights,” her latest album.

Kandzic wore a purple costume, featuring a sequin skirt and heart-shaped sunglasses, inspired by the “Lavender Haze” music video.

“One girl came up to me and told me I looked like I was leaving the Taylor Swift Met Gala,” Kandzic says. “That was the best compliment. Like I will never receive a better compliment than that.”

The concerts are a supportive environment — and, for some fans, somewhat competitive. Kayla Hockman, 29, from Los Angeles, says having a unique outfit was a priority. After all, having appeared in the “Shake It Off” video, Hockman had a reputation as a Swiftie to preserve.

After thinking through a few options (including the squirrel pajamas Swift wears in the “We Are Never Getting Back Together” music video), Hockman decided to recreate the sequined red dress from the “ME!” music video. But her friends were skeptical. “I feel like everyone’s going to wear that,” she recalled them saying.

Ultimately, she forged ahead, ordering a few pieces and hiring a seamstress to assemble the final product, ultimately costing a total of $160.

At the concert, she only saw one or two other people wearing the same look. “I was like, wait, I’m so glad I wore it.”

DIY costumes are a memento from the tour

For some, DIY costumes are a way to manage costs while keeping in the spirit of the show.

“I was trying to find the most affordable costumes because you’re already paying so much money with the concert tickets, travel, parking, food and accommodations,” Hockman says.

Mia Saracusa, 26, from Denver, put her budget-conscious creativity to work by creating a patch jacket that mimics the one Swift wore during the Reputation Stadium Tour.

She thrifted a jean jacket, scoured the internet for patches that tied into the songs and then assembled the look herself.

Each patch on Mia Saracusa's jacket represents a different connection she has to Swift.

“It’s like a memento to take away from the show. I have something to remember from opening night,” she says.

Holly Evans, 23, from Victorville, California, also created a patchwork-inspired outfit as a nod to Swift's current tour aesthetic.

Holly Evans couldn't decide what Era she wanted to dress up as — so she combined her four favorites.

She created her outfit entirely by hand, picking moments that stood out from four albums: The “Folklore” cardigan. The black fur sleeve, a nod to Swift’s “Reputation” album. The white shorts á la “1989.” The ringmaster tailcoat from The Red Tour.

“I’ve created some looks in the past, but they were just the one look, so it was fun to combine a few together,” she says. (Once, at the 1989 World Tour, Evans dressed up as a milkshake, a play on the “Shake It Up” music video.)

At the concert, Evans said people approached her to talk about her outfit, saying they saw her on TikTok and Twitter.

But the best part came after the show when Swift liked Evan’s TikTok , in which she showed off her outfit.

“I had to make sure it was actually her,” she says. “I clicked on the account; it had the blue checkmark. I started just bawling. I was so happy. I worked really hard on the outfit so to have her stamp of approval meant a lot.” ”

The meaning of all those bracelets

You may have seen pictures of Swifties wearing friendship bracelets. No, it’s not summer camp — it’s another sartorial tradition that came out of The Eras Tour.

Months before the tour, fans coordinated a friendship exchange inspired by a lyric in the song “You’re On Your Own, Kid.” Swift sings, “So make friendship bracelets / Take the moment and taste it / You’ve got no reason to be afraid / You’re on your own, kid / Yeah, you can face this.”

Saracusa says the bracelet exchange happened just a few hours before Swift took the stage. “I met up with a big group of other fans from Twitter an hour or two before the gates opened. Everyone had made different bracelets with song lyrics, inside jokes from the fandom, album titles, things like that,” she says, explaining how they all wrote the number 13 on their hand like Swift did during the Speak Now World Tour.

The moment a bunch of Swifties became forever friends.

Taylor Swift outfits double as a bonding activity

Danielle Estrada, 26, from Salt Lake City, and her friends always knew they wanted to dress up for the tour.

Then, Estrada proposed getting her boyfriend and his friends in on the action — and they were game.

"I'm always a good sport. I love my girlfriend, so I'll always support her in her endeavors. But I did laugh when I saw the outfit online and when she showed me what I would be dressing up as," Estrada's boyfriend Derek Logan, 32, TODAY.com.

"Any opportunity to wear a fedora I’m in and I got to wear a butterfly chest tattoo," he adds.

Derek Logan (center) and his friends dressed — and played — the part.

Logan's outfit came from the "I Knew You Were Trouble" music video.

His friends dressed up as the guy on the yacht from "The Man" music video while the other re-created Swift's look from the "You Belong With Me" music video.

This well-dressed crew is giving Swift's star-studded squad a run for its money.

"To any boyfriends or husbands out there, when you're going to a concert for your girlfriend maybe you're not the most excited, just spice it up. It makes it a little more fun," Logan says.

Fans Think Taylor Swift Is Teasing Her Next Re-Recording with Her Eras Tour Costume

Fans think the singer is "teeing" up to announce Speak Now (Taylor's Version) during her Eras Tour

speak now world tour costumes

Taylor Swift 's next re-recording might be sooner than fans think.

After dropping several Easter eggs for Speak Now (Taylor's Version) in her recent music videos, fans think the singer is "teeing" up to announce something big at her Eras Tour — and she's using her costumes to do it.

Throughout the tour, which kicked off on March 17, Swift has been paying tribute to her past eras with her costumes , including recreating her look from her "22" music video, in which she wears black shorts, a black fedora , and a black shirt that reads: "Not a lot going on at the moment."

For her opening night in Glendale, Arizona, she made one critical change, dropping the "not" from the T-shirt slogan, with "A LOT" in red.

Swift later wore a similar outfit for her Red era set featuring a different lyric from the song: "Who's Taylor Swift anyway? Ew," with "Ew" in red.

Following the costume change, it didn't take long for fans to start theorizing, with some suggesting that the red letters are spelling out Speak Now (Taylor's Version) .

During her March 31 concert in Arlington, Texas, Swift added more fuel to the fire by debuting a third shirt during her "22" performance, this time reading: "We are never getting back together. Like ever," with "never" and "ever" in red lettering. And guess what? The letters still match up to spell out Speak Now (Taylor's Version) .

Once the fill in the black is complete, some Swifties have even suggested that Swift might announce Speak Now (Taylor's Version) during her Eras Tour, where she notably only performs one song from the aforementioned album.

This wouldn't be the first time Swift has dropped Easter eggs through clothing. In February, Swift embraced all her eras for her Grammys red carpet look . Notably, the singer stepped out in a midnight blue two-piece set by Roberto Cavalli, a designer she worked with during her Speak Now era and who also created custom looks for her recent Eras Tour.

She also included a few Speak Now Easter eggs in her music video for "Bejeweled ," including instrumental versions of "Long Live" and "Enchanted" as well as hair clips that read "S" and "N." At the end of the video, Swift even stands on a balcony that looks identical to the balcony from her Speak Now World Tour.

"Easter eggs can be left on clothing or jewelry," Swift previously told Entertainment Weekly ahead of the release of her Lover album .

"This is one of my favorite ways to do this because you wear something that foreshadows something else and people don't usually really find out this one immediately but they know you're probably sending a message. They'll figure it out in time."

Prepare for the Eras Tour with this journey through Taylor Swift's concert films

Taylor Swift throughout the years

The Eras Tour concert film is nearly upon us, and it’s set to be another major milestone in Taylor Swift’s already incredibly illustrious career. Topping $100 million in advance ticket sales , the movie experience will likely be crowned the biggest concert film of all time. This is no surprise given Swift’s complete cultural dominance in the last few years. But this also isn’t Swift’s first rodeo: she’s released several concert films (or concert-film-adjacent material) throughout her career, each one calibrated to its specific “era.”

Swift’s on-screen journey (and no, we’re not talking about her appearance in Cats or her magnificent death in Amsterdam ) tracks the incredible rise to fame of the biggest pop star of her generation, capturing her at the height of her powers—in front of an audience, connecting with her fans.

Journey To Fearless

After breaking out with her self-titled debut album, the Fearless era truly put Taylor Swift on the map. Her sophomore effort was ultimately awarded the Grammy for Album of the Year. This era also featured her first world tour, which kicked off in April 2009 and stretched through July 2010. The event was captured in Journey To Fearless, a three-part documentary series that originally helped launch the children’s television network The Hub.

Journey To Fearless “combines riveting performances from Taylor Swift’s smash 2010 tour with revealing interviews and behind-the-scenes footage,” per a synopsis of the series. It’s “the story of a little girl who dared to dream big, and who fearlessly faced near-insurmountable obstacles to make those dreams come true.” Questionably surmountable obstacles aside, it’s a fascinating document in the Swift canon that serves something like an origin story. In addition to tour footage, the doc features Swift family home videos and an explanation of how she fell in love with music and made it to Nashville. If you’re itching to watch it, Journey To Fearless can be purchased on DVD over at Amazon .

Speak Now World Tour — Live

Following the smash success of Fearless, Swift famously decided to make a point to her haters by releasing an entirely self-written album so that no one could question her songwriting abilities. Enter the Speak Now era, which was accompanied by a fairytale world tour spanning from February 2011 to March 2012. The Speak Now World Tour — Live concert film was accompanied by a live album that featured Swift’s set list and a few of the covers she played on the road (she played a lot of covers on that tour).

This one is more of a pure concert film than the documentary that preceded it. Nevertheless, it’s interesting to see Swift’s evolution as a performer and the production value she brought to her shows: big set pieces, elaborate costumes, and even little skits (there’s a fake wedding staged in the middle, with a priest and organ music and everything). This DVD can also be purchased at Amazon .

After Speak Now came Red , the era where Swift began her crossover from country music to pop. Sadly, there is no concert film from the Red tour, which took place from March 2013 to June 2014, though rumors circulated for years that one had been filmed and scrapped. (Swift’s label at the time, Big Machine, did not respond to The A.V. Club’s request for comment on the subject.) Some of the speculation that the Red film was scrapped was because one of the music videos released from the tour, “The Last Time,” was directed by Terry Richardson, who was shortly thereafter embroiled in (another) sexual misconduct scandal.

However, Swift also released a “Red” music video with a different director, Kenny Jackson. Maybe she was shopping around for a director to fit her vision. Per “ Taylor Swift Switzerland ,” Big Machine CEO Scott Borchetta said “he and the management never planned to film the concert or to put it on DVD. He said Taylor also never insisted to film ‘The RED Tour’ due to her process of switching genres,” but this writer can’t find a single source to back up this claim. We’ll just have to enjoy the two music videos (and any blurry fan footage you can find).

The 1989 World Tour Live

The 1989 era marked Swift’s official entry into pure pop, and marked another incredible peak in her career. The world tour, which spanned from May to December 2015, was a similar blockbuster smash, and got an Apple Music-exclusive concert film. Filmed at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Australia (the final stop on tour), the Jonas Åkerlund-directed film captured the incredible scope of her stadium success.

The movie featured interviews with Swift about crafting the concert experience, including inviting a lot of friends and celebrities to come out on stage and surprise her fans—everyone from Fetty Wap to Idina Menzel. There are also interviews with “The Squad,” Swift’s infamous group of girlfriends and footage filmed by her ex-bestie Karlie Kloss . Unfortunately, the film isn’t available for purchase and it’s no longer streaming anywhere (officially, at least—an intrepid fan may be able to find it somewhere on the web.) Instead, you can watch comedian Lara Marie Schoenhals’ “ Please welcome to the stage …” video and get a similar idea as to what the 1989 tour was like.

Taylor Swift Reputation Stadium Tour

Swift’s reputation era followed a fall from grace prompted by the latest (at the time) chapter in her feud with Kanye West. The album is a dark horse in her discography, but for reputation doubters, the tour (which took place between May and November 2018) breathed new life into the material and gave new context to the music. The film version is another straight concert movie without any behind-the-scenes material—as Swift said when the era began, “There will be no explanation. There will just be reputation.”

On a streaming budget, this is probably her best-looking concert film ever, gorgeously shot and lovingly rendered with lots of gilded costumes and giant snakes. It was a herald of what was to come with the Eras Tour as far as production, choreography, and some of Swift’s strongest vocals of her career. The full film can be found streaming on Netflix .

Lover & folklore

Swift’s Lover era was going to be conducted a little differently, with just 16 big shows called “Lover Fest.” Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted those plans, but not before Swift managed to film an intimate concert in Paris called City Of Lover. Broadcast on ABC and later streaming on Disney+ and Hulu in May 2020, the show stripped down songs from the pure-pop album and transformed many of them into aching acoustic versions. While the full concert is no longer available to stream, there’s some video from the show on Swift’s YouTube page, and the accompanying live album can be streamed on Spotify .

Also during the pandemic, Swift released Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions. It’s not really a concert film, so this one’s a bit of a cheat, but it’s a highlight of an era that never got its own tour. The movie features Swift and her main collaborators, Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, performing songs from the Grammy-winning album and discussing the meanings behind the lyrics and the process of creating the tracks. That pandemic-era film can be still be streamed on Disney+. (And none for you evermore. Bye!)

The Eras Tour Concert Film

Next up is The Eras Tour Concert Film, which premieres in theaters October 13. Swift made a deal directly with AMC to distribute the film, circumventing studios and giving herself the freedom to sell to a streamer at a later date. For now, though, the event is shaping up to be a theater experience, replicating some of the traditions started at the live show (trading friendship bracelets, for example, has been encouraged). The footage was shot at Swift’s final tour stop on the first leg of the U.S. tour, at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in early August 2023. Performing songs from each previous “era,” this concert film is no doubt a culmination of all the on-screen eras that came before—and it’s already set to become one of the highest-grossing films of the year , period. See you at the cinemas!

NEW YORK (AP) — Taylor Swift has been breaking records and delighting fans on the U.S. leg of her Eras Tour , a splashy celebration of her career and new releases since the pandemic.

It’s become a notoriously tough ticket to get .

But on the second floor of the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) in New York City, fans can catch glimpses of Swift’s “eras” for much cheaper. “Taylor Swift: Storyteller,” features dozens of costumes and objects spanning her music videos, tours and awards show performances — from the lace gown she wore when performing “All Too Well” on the Red Tour to the “key to the castle” featured in the video for “Bejeweled.”

The goal, museum director Tim Rodgers said, was to explore how Swift uses clothing and props to tell stories — almost as much as she does lyrics. “It’s different than stars that use costumes or fashion in order to enhance themselves,” Rodgers said. “Taylor Swift is using costumes and props like a vocabulary.”

Rodgers said Swift’s team came to MAD with the idea because of another exhibit they hosted — “Queer Maximalism X Machine Dazzle” — featuring the work of artist, performer and costume designer Matthew Flower, also known as Machine Dazzle. “It was totally unexpected,” Rodgers said.

This combination of album covers shows "The Tortured Poets Department" by Taylor Swift and "Dark Matter" by Pearl Jam. (Republic Records via AP, left, and Monkeywrench/Republic Records via AP)

“Taylor Swift: Storyteller” opened ahead of Swift’s three-night stop nearby at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium. Like her concerts, the collection walks visitors through her genre- and decade-spanning career. There’s the crystal-encrusted guitar she used when performing her 2010 album “Speak Now,” a hooded bodysuit she wore during her Reputation Stadium Tour, the striped T-shirt she wore in a 2020 photoshoot for “folklore.”

“She’s a visual storyteller. Everything she does ... it feels very intentional,” said Teresa Bocalan, a fan visiting the museum. “So it’s really cool to see those outfits up close.”

The exhibit, on display through Sept. 4, is accompanied by a playlist of Swift’s music videos — including her short film for the 10 minute version of “All Too Well” — which are projected on screens around the room. Lyrics scrawled in Swift’s handwriting adorn key walls in the space.

But perhaps the centerpiece of it all is a more recent piece of Swift’s lore: the flowing red wedding dress she wore in the 2021 video for “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault),” directed by Blake Lively and co-starring Miles Teller. The song, featuring Chris Stapleton, was an addition to the re-released version of her 2012 album “Red.” Adorned with tulle roses, the dress was custom made for Swift by Nicole + Felicia Couture.

In the video , the red gown is a showstopper — or, more literally, a wedding stopper.

In the exhibit, it seems to hold the same power.

“We had people come in and look at that red wedding dress over there and literally start to cry,” Rodgers said of the exhibit’s opening weekend. “It is, for a lot of people, almost like a religious experience to see this clothing that Taylor once wore.”

“I’m also super excited to see the ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ dress over there,” said Greta Myers, a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology. “We haven’t looked at it yet. I’m saving it.”

Taylor Swift is not only on top of the world — she's traversing it on her record-breaking Eras Tour.

Celebrating 17 years of her genre-spanning music with tributes to the songs, costumes, and Easter eggs that have made her a global superstar, The Eras Tour is the first-ever tour to gross over $1 billion in revenue.

The tour has made Swift a billionaire and boosts the economies of every city it visits with an estimated $4.6 billion in US consumer spending connected to the concerts. Swift's opening shows in Glendale, Arizona, generated more local revenue than the Super Bowl.

Here are photos that capture some of the most memorable moments of The Eras Tour — so far. After completing legs in the US, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Australia, and Singapore, Swift continues on to Europe this summer and circles back to the US in the fall.

We’re Enchanted To Meet These Taylor Swift Halloween Costume Ideas

Taylor Swift Halloween Costumes - 2022 VMAs Bodysuit

Taylor Swift was famous before the Eras Tour , but let’s be real – it launched her into super-super-stardom. And the outfits? Truly iconic. Move aside, Barbie . These Taylor Swift costume ideas take Halloween to the next level.

Whether you’re looking to wear the pink and blue Lover bodysuit, the fedora-ed “22” outfit, or the gold fringe mini dress to represent Fearless , these costume ideas practically spell out “ Swiftie .” Which is a good thing, because autocorrect keeps thinking we mean “Swiffer.” When we said she swept the VMAs, that’s not quite what we meant.

Taylor Swift Halloween Costumes

15 Taylor Swift Costume Ideas

1. “me” music video outfit.

The 70s-style pink mini dress with a heart-shaped section of sequins on the front from the “ME!” music video isn’t the most obvious pick for a Taylor Swift costume , but fans will get the reference.

You can even rewear it for Valentine’s Day. Even if your valentine is just YOU! Taylor said so.

Get this look:

  • Pink sequined heart dress
  • Heart dangle earrings

Taylor Swift Halloween Costumes - “ME!” Music Video Outfit

2. 1989 World Tour Circle Skirt Outfit

Probably the most recognizable Swift ‘fit from the 1989 World Tour back in 2015 is the circle skirt, crop top, metallic jacket combo.

Since 1989 is coming back in style with the Taylor’s Version re-record on October 27, this might be the perfect ‘fit for Halloweekend.

  • Metallic circle skirt
  • Sequined bomber jacket
  • White sunglasses
  • Black crop top

3. 2022 VMAs Bodysuit

Swift’s insane bedazzled silver dress that she wore to the VMAs in 2022 is recognizable among super fans, but you can be pretty confident no one else will be wearing this at the Halloween party . It’s also possible some people won’t know what you are, but no one can deny you look fabulous.

If they do, just shake if off. Okay, we’re done now.

  • Check out @fearlessfallon’s video on how she made this outfit by hand

4. “Picture to Burn” Taylor Swift Costume

In your debut era? This creative costume represents one of Swift’s first songs, “Picture to Burn” from her first album. Instead of using Polaroids of her exes, you could use your own if you’re feeling spicy.

Be warned that clothes are generally flammable. Just sayin’.

  • Black flame button-up
  • Iron-on letters

Taylor Swift Halloween Costumes - Picture to Burn

5. Champagne Problems

“Champagne Problems” is one of the tracks on Swift’s album evermore , and you can dress up as a bottle of champagne to get the point across.

We can’t think of many problems that aren’t solvable with copious amounts of champagne, though. Unless your problem is a massive hangover.

  • Custom look from Corset Carriage

6. Midnights Bodysuit

The newest addition to the T. Swift lexicon (not including re-releases), Midnights , got several bejeweled navy blue bodysuits during the Eras Tour, plus various sparkly jackets to throw on top.

Any one of these combos would make for an epic costume, but we’re partial to the pink jacket. Why choose between dressing up as your favorite pop icon or your favorite doll? It’s Barbie. You’re on your own, Cabbage Patch Kid.

  • Midnights bodysuit
  • Knee-high blue sequin boots
@jolamar Close up of my midnights bodysuit! #speaknowtaylorswift #erastour #erastourkansascity #taylorswifterastouroutfits #taylorswift #longlive @Taylor Swift @Taylor Nation ♬ original sound – swiftie 🫶

7. “22” Music Video Outfit

In the music video for “22” off the album Red, Swift rocked a white t-shirt emblazoned with the words “Not A Lot Going On At The Moment” in black text.

It was a lie, obviously. You don’t win three Album of the Year Grammys without having a busy schedule . But at least it’s relatable for us plebeians.

  • “Not A Lot Going On At The Moment” tee
  • Black sequin shorts
  • Black fedora hat
  • Red heart sunglasses

8. Lover Bodysuit

The bodysuit that graces the cover of the upcoming Eras Tour movie is an instantly recognizable Taylor Swift costume idea . If you haven’t seen it yet, please tell us what you do with all the time you don’t waste on TikTok.

  • Lover bodysuit
  • Sparkly fishnet stockings
  • Knee-high sequin boots

9. Reputation One-Legged Bodysuit

Halloween has a reputation for being pretty unpredictable weather-wise, no matter where you live. This outfit (from the reputation era, no less) is the perfect solution. It’s like sticking one foot out of the covers in bed to regulate your body temperature.

Just choose the side of your body you care less about to be the one exposed to the elements. You know, just in case.

  • Snake leggings
  • Black ankle booties

10. Taylor Swift’s 2021 Oscar de la Renta Grammys Outfit

Of all of Swift’s red carpet appearances, it’s safe to say this is one that made a big splash. Perhaps even the biggest splash. We do hope she at least watered the flowers.

Lots of Etsy shops and small businesses have designed their own spin on the look , so it’s easy enough to recreate yourself.

  • Folklore-inspired floral dress
  • Pink ankle-tie sandal heels
  • Grammy award replica

11. Speak Now Purple Dress and Ponytail

One of the most memorable outfits from Taylor’s Speak Now World Tour way back in 2011 and 2012 was this high pony, soft purple dress moment.

And when in doubt, write some song lyrics on your arm to really sell it. Probably not one of the ones with curse words if you’re planning on trick-or-treating.

  • Purple mini dress
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Julie (Taylor’s Version) 🪩🫶🏻✨ (@julieheartstaylor13)

12. “Bejeweled” Music Video Outfit

Best believe you’re not only still bejeweled, but also positively covered in hot glue after hand-placing all these rhinestones on this Halloween ‘fit inspired by the “Bejeweled” music video.

By the way, we’re staying in tonight. There’s a new season of Great British Baking Show , let us live.

  • Hand-beaded corset top
  • Hair jewels

13. Wonderstruck Perfume Bottle

Only true Swifties will recognize this clever nod to Swift’s brief stint as a perfumier. We can practically smell the fruity and sweet burst of nostalgia from here.

It might be because we have a twelve-year-old bottle of it on our makeup vanity. Does perfume expire?

  • Metallic gold bodysuit
  • Purple flared circle skirt
  • Gold headband

14. Fearless Gold Fringe Outfit

You have to be fearless to wear this shimmering gold bodysuit in 40-degree weather. Or at least you have to be a risk taker. Did we just name TS11?

  • Gold fringe dress
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Anthia + Khadi (@repuhtaytion13)

15. Folklore’s “Cardigan” Music Video Outfit

Sometimes, Taylor Swift’s own merch is enough of a costume, especially when she wore it herself in her “Cardigan” music video. This is the perfect Halloween costume because it’s super cozy.

Anything that doubles as something we’d wear on the couch for a movie night and something that could pass at a party is a win. Don’t forget to bring candy, and you won’t even be able to tell the difference.
