The Killers Announce ‘Hot Fuss’ 20th Anniversary Residency in Las Vegas

The Killers will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut LP, Hot Fuss , by playing the album straight through at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in their hometown of Las Vegas. Eight nights are booked between August 14 through August 30. Tickets go on sale January 27.
All four members of the band — singer Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer, and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr — will participate in the shows. This is a rarity since Stoermer stopped touring with the group in 2016 due to hearing issues and burnout from the road, and Keuning stepped away between 2017 and 2020 to spend more time with his family. “Nobody is going to sympathize with me,” Keuning told Rolling Stone in 2021, “but physically and mentally, I could not go to the airport and devote myself to two more years of being gone. I could not do it. I was going crazy.”
The Hot Fuss anniversary gigs in Las Vegas are a great chance for the band to reunite onstage and revisit the songs that launched them. Hot Fuss tunes like “Mr. Brightside,” “Somebody Told Me,” “All Things Things That I’ve Done,” “Smile Like You Mean It,” “Andy, You’re a Star,” and “Jenny Was a Friend of Mine” have been consistent parts of their stage show for the last two decades. It’s hard to imagine they’ll ever be able to play a concert without playing at least “Mr. Brightside,” one of the most beloved rock songs of the 21st century.

It was amazing!!! From the moment they went on stage to the very last second it was just so much positive energy coming from the band. The crowd was bad, but that isn’t The Killers’ fault! They did the absolute most and it paid off. Brandon hit those high notes despite his flu, Ronnie was legendary on the drums, Ted was amazing, the choir was amazing, et cetera et cetera. It’s a shame (especially for the people that DID know all their songs) that the crowd bothered them so much that they didn’t play Mr. Brightside, but again, the band isn’t to blame.
These Las Vegas legends know how to give a great performance!

This was, so far, the best concert for The Killers that I've ever seen (& I've seen them 3 times already). The acoustics for the Staples Center wasn't the absolute best, but it didn't matter when the whole stadium was singing at the top of their lungs along with the band. First of all, since this was the Wonderful Wonderful Tour, I thought the band would play mostly songs from the new album, but to my surprise, they performed a great mix of songs from their entire discography. What surprised me the most was that The Killers played a ton more songs from their Hot Fuss album than they ever had before. They even dug deep to perform such notable songs like "Andy, You're A Star" & "Smile Like You Mean It". A beautifully sweet touch was when the band performed a new, sort of spur-of-the-moment, song about Los Angeles...a song they had written on the road just before their L.A. leg of the tour. One of the major highlights of the entire concert was when the band had invited a young teenage fan up onto the stage to play the drums on the song "For Reasons Unknown". Apparently this has become an ongoing tradition of the band, to invite fans up on the stage to perform with them. This was such a touching, yet totally bad-ass moment, & I hope The Killers keep on doing this at every concert tour from now on. By the end of the concert, my friends & I had lost our voices from singing & screaming so loudly, but it was one thousand percent worth it. The Killers proved with their electrifying & humorous stage presence, along with their amazing voices & talent, that they will forever hold the spot of being my all-time favorite band.
I actually saw the show at Barclays on Tuesday the 8th. Let me start by saying I see a lot of concerts every year and was only familiar with the better known of The Killers songs. Having said that - they were EXCELLENT! Flowers is a magnificent front man with a set of pipes to carry stadiums. The band is flawless and so rock and roll. I will judge a band by how much they can hook me with a song I’ve never heard before . From the opening with Wonderful Wonderful and The Man thru The Calling start to the encore I was dazzled. I downloaded everything and I’m now a confirmed fan. I will see them again ASAP. One of the best live I have seen -ever. And I’m no spring chicken.

The Killers to Perform 'Hot Fuss' in Full at First-Ever Hometown Las Vegas Residency: 'It's Good to Be Home'
The legendary alt-rock band will play a string of dates at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in summer 2024 in honor of the 20th anniversary of their debut album
Todd Weaver
After all these things that The Killers have done, they’re coming home.
The iconic alternative rock band announced they’re set to play their first-ever residency in their hometown of Las Vegas on Tuesday. They’ll be taking to the stage in Sin City — where they famously came up in the early 2000s and has remained a source of inspiration in their music ever since — in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their hit debut album Hot Fuss.
Not only will the upcoming shows that are scheduled for August honor the milestone anniversary, the Grammy-nominated group plans to perform the beloved record, featuring songs like “Mr. Brightside,” “Somebody Told Me” and “All These Things That I’ve Done,” from front to back for the first time.

The group featuring vocalist Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. will play a total of eight dates at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from Aug. 14 to Aug 30.
The “Human” band announced the residency to fans on Instagram by sharing a teaser. The clip featured footage of the rockers out on the road today, as well as nostalgic shots of them at the start of their career when Hot Fuss dropped.
“It’s good to be home,” The Killers wrote in the caption. “Join the 4 of us for 8 shows at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace in August as we celebrate 20 years of Hot Fuss . Tickets go on sale starting Jan. 27.”

The hitmakers’ new wave-influenced debut album instantly launched them into success upon its release in June 2004. Not only did the album receive a Grammy nomination for best rock album, three of its singles (“All These Things That I've Done,” “Mr. Brightside” and “Somebody Told Me”) received nominations, as well.
Still today, the cult-loved record is considered one of the best debuts of all time.

As well as headlining Reading & Leeds 2023, the US band will head out on a short tour of the country
Published on
The Killers have confirmed a short run of UK and Ireland tour dates to complement their headline slots at Reading & Leeds 2023 .
After topping the bill at the twin festivals next August, the Las Vegas-conceived band will head to Scotland, where there will hold their first-ever show in Edinburgh. The group will headline the Royal Highland Centre Showgrounds on August 29.
In September, The Killers will continue the brief tour at Belfast’s Boucher Road Playing Fields before heading to Stradbally to headline the 2023 edition of Electric Picnic.
Tickets for the Edinburgh and Belfast shows will both go on sale at 9am GMT on Monday (December 12). Edinburgh tickets will be available to purchase here , while Belfast tickets will go on sale here .
The short tour follows the band’s massive, sold-out stadium tour this summer , which saw The Killers play to 400,000 fans at shows, including two euphoric nights at London’s Emirates Stadium.
The new dates are the latest to be added to what looks set to be a busy schedule for The Killers next summer. Previously, the band were confirmed to be performing at Atlanta, GA’s Shaky Knees festival alongside Muse and The Lumineers.
Meanwhile, the group’s latest album, Pressure Machine , was released in 2021 and was followed up by the standalone single “boy” in August. Written before the songs that made up Pressure Machine , the themes explored in “boy” helped lead frontman and principal songwriter Brandon Flowers to the subjects that would eventually be the focus of that record.
“This was the first song written after we had to cancel the Imploding The Mirage tour due to the pandemic,” Flowers explained in a press release at the time. “I had recently moved back to Utah and started to make trips to Nephi, where I grew up. I found that the place I had wanted to get away from so desperately at 16 was now a place that I couldn’t stop returning to.
“I have a son approaching the age I was at that time in my life. With ‘boy’, I want to reach out and tell myself – and my sons – to not overthink it. And to look for the ‘white arrows’ in their lives. For me now, white arrows are my wife, children, my songs and the stage.”

Oceans Calling uses Firefly Music Festival old playbook. Here is how
Nine years after Delaware hosted a multi-day country music festival, excitement grows for Country Calling Festival's Ocean City, Maryland, debut this fall, with tickets already in short supply.
Tickets are still available for 1-Day General Admission+, 1-Day VIP and 1-Day Platinum.
Country Calling boasts headliners Jelly Roll , Tyler Childers , Lainey Wilson and Eric Church on Oct. 4 and 5. The country event is a spinoff of the popular rock-oriented Oceans Calling Festival .
Oceans Calling is sold out and will bring headliners Blink-182 , The Killers , and Dave Matthews Band to OC on Sept. 27 and 29, just a week before the Country Calling Festival.
As anticipation builds for both events, let's examine how Oceans Calling adopted the playbook of Dover's Firefly Music Festival, which ran for a decade before pausing in 2023. That same year, Oceans Calling launched its inaugural festival and began stealing Firefly's thunder.
Eric Church was set to play Firefly country festival
Some of the Delawareans going to see Eric Church at Country Calling this fall were supposed to see him in Dover in 2016. But first, we must return to 2015.
It's not every day that a rock-based festival like Oceans Calling gains a country spinoff launched one week apart. But we already saw this when Firefly's inaugural country spinoff — Big Barrel Country Music Festival — arrived in The Woodlands of Dover from June 26 to 28, 2015.
Big Barrel Country Music Festival was held a week after Firefly reached its peak popularity to date, attracting over 90,000 fans. Firefly that year featured headliners Paul McCartney, The Killers and Kings of Leon. (But Kings of Leon didn't play due to a lightning storm.)
Big Barrel featured headliners Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood. The event was much smaller than Firefly, attracting around 30,000 fans. Similar to the bad weather at Firefly, Big Barrel had lots of rain, and the festival turned into a muddy mess.
Revelers still turned out and some danced in the mud, but the festival was lacking compared with its more popular Firefly sibling.
Big Barrel was also competing against another inaugural summer country festival that year named Delaware Junction. Delaware Junction was a three-day affair held in Harrington in August with headliners Toby Keith, Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line.
Delaware Junction had a fun Firefly vibe with its big acts and activities like the giant water slide, foam parties and more.
Although Big Barrel's debut was underwhelming, organizers announced the festival would come back in summer 2016 with a top-heavy lineup that included headliners Eric Church, Brad Paisley and Sam Hunt, along with big names like Hank Williams Jr., Jason Isbell, Eli Young Band and Brothers Osborne (who are playing Country Calling).
Three months after the second Big Barrel festival was announced, its organizers mysteriously pulled the plug. Delaware Junction also didn't return in 2016, making 2015 the last year a major multiday country festival was held in the First State.
The Killers bring Firefly vibes to Oceans Calling
There's a long-running joke that the rockers The Killers have headlined the 10-year Firefly festival every year. Although it seems that way, the band has been tapped to play Firefly only four times, including the first year of the festival (2012, 2015, 2018 and 2021).
Folks on the Firefly Music Festival Fan Page on Facebook, which has 22,000 members, have long roasted The Killers for how often they play the Dover festival.
The jokes go something like this: "So judging by the math, The Killers will have now played 14 out of the 8 Firefly's," one person wrote.
This year when Oceans Calling released its lineup, fans on the Firefly page couldn't ignore The Killers. "Good can finally get my killers fix. Haven't seen them since Firefly," a fan wrote.
Aubrey Plaza update: Aubrey Plaza & Dan Levy spell trouble in ridiculous Loewe commercial. Watch it here
"The Killers need to go away for awhile. It's not their fault but man I am sick of seeing them as a headliner," another person said.
It's safe to say The Killers will keep the spirit of Firefly alive at Oceans Calling this fall.
Oceans Calling is 'the new Firefly'
Oceans Calling is considered the new Firefly to some fans, partly because the Maryland event reminds them of what the Dover festival once was when it started out.
Firefly originally celebrated indie/alternative acts and catered to older music fans, but later evolved into a fest that attracted a high school crowd, and a lineup that included more EDM, rap and pop artists.
Firefly organizers have never explicitly said why they haven't held a festival in The Woodlands since 2022. But part of the reason is likely because Firefly has to deal with more competition than it did when it started in 2012, which includes newer events like Oceans Calling, a festival that's drawn lots of bands from the '90s/2000s.
In fact, Oceans Calling has handpicked several acts that have played Firefly. Of the three headliners, all but the Dave Matthews Band have played Firefly. A handful of other acts on the bill also have gigged at the Dover festival — Cage the Elephant, Grouplove, Young the Giant and O.A.R.
Last year saw a number of Firefly alumni play Oceans Calling such as headliner Jack Johnson.
Members of the Firefly Music Festival Fan Page on Facebook have been gushing over the Oceans Calling lineup since it dropped, branding it the new festival king.
"Yes. Im soiling my pants [right now]. Its the new firefly," one fan said, with another adding, "I just texted my friend and said this is officially Firefly's replacement."
How much are tickets to Oceans Calling?
Oceans Calling Festival is in Ocean City, Maryland, on Friday, Oct. 4, and Saturday, Oct. 5. Tickets for single-day passes start at $285. Visit countrycallingfestival.com .
