New Details on HARDY's Bus Crash, Everyone Was Unconscious
A week and a half ago, photographer/videographer Tanner Gallagher rode in the front lounge of HARDY 's tour bus with the singer/songwriter on the way back from playing a show in Bristol, Tennessee. The tour manager Noah was asleep in the bunk as the bus hurled up I-40 east when the unthinkable happened. A bus crash seriously injured everyone onboard, but no one shared many details.
On Tuesday, Gallagher shared his memories of the night he was told should have killed him.
"It seems like this happened so fast, but I feel the need to talk about it officially…," he wrote on Instagram. "Last week, we had one of the most terrifying accidents happen to us."
Gallagher wrote that the tour bus ran off the highway at approximately 70 mph and flipped into the woods. There were four people on board, himself, HARDY, their tour manager, Noah, and the bus driver, Ricky.
"Within what felt like 3 seconds, our bodies were thrown across the room knocking us all unconscious," he shared. "By the grace of God, we all survived. My injuries included a shattered foot, a punctured lung, four broken ribs, and a fractured vertebrae in my neck."
Gallagher said he was in pain, wrapped in casts and will hardly be able to move for the next few weeks or maybe months. But he wanted to point out an important fact.
"I was told numerous times by doctors that it was a miracle that we survived… and that'll make you think," he said. "I think about the times that I've spent worrying, stressed, upset, been less present, or simply took for granted, and it kills me. I think about all the people in my life, family, friends, co workers, etc. and wished that I could have spent more time with them or somehow made them feel better in moments with something as simple and little as a compliment. Most of all, I think about perspective, in that it's so easy for us to lose sight of all of the things we have."
Gallagher told readers to be thankful for everything, even if it's their health, and they can wake up every day and spend it doing what they love.
"As scary and life threatening as this accident was, I'm glad I now have a better outlook moving forward, and it's only going uphill from here," he said. "I know this accident could have been a lot worse, and for that i'm so grateful. I'm also incredibly thankful for every message, prayer and every person who helped me over the past week, it meant the world."
He said he would be in bed and a wheelchair for a while. And while he isn't upset about that, he'd be happy if someone wanted to bring him lunch "or something."
The country music community flooded his comment section with support.
"Love y'all so much. ❤️🙏🏼" Lindsay Ell wrote.
Meghan Patrick wrote: "Thank you for this perspective and for sharing… so glad y'all are still with us 🖤"
Carly Pearce said: "Oh my god tanner sending you so much love ❤️"
HARDY chimed in with: "My mom is gonna kill you. Love you man. We are so lucky."
HARDY isn't wasting his downtime, either. The singer/songwriter revealed his second studio album, "the mockingbird & THE CROW," will be available on January 20. Three new songs, "here lies country music," "the mockingbird & THE CROW," and "TRUCK BED," are out now.
"What's up, guys? HARDY here," he said when he made the announcement. "Feeling a lot better. Um, feeling much better; still a little bit banged up, but man, definitely on the upswing. And everybody in the accident is also on the upswing. Thank you for all of your prayers. It's been a rough few days, but everybody's doing great," he confirmed in a short social media clip. "I've been going back and forth on, you know, I have a lot of big announcements I was to make. Things I want to post, and things I want to announce, and I was kind of wondering if I should push some of that to down the road. I've talked to everybody, and everybody's like, 'Man, let's keep the train rolling.'"

Country singer Hardy says he was treated for ‘significant injuries’ after tour bus crash
Country singer Hardy asked supporters for prayers after revealing his tour bus was in an accident over the weekend.
The “Wait In the Truck” singer, 32, said the crash occurred when he and three other members of his team were on their way home from a show at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee, on the evening of Oct. 1.
“We were all treated for significant injuries,” he wrote in a Twitter statement. “Our friend, and bus driver needs your prayers as he is still in the hospital. His family is with him while he is being treated and we’re all pulling and praying for him.”
The cause of the crash is not clear. NBC News reached out to a representative for the Tennessee Highway Safety Office but did not immediately hear back.
Hardy said he has been released from the hospital — “but ordered by doctors to recover for the next few weeks" — adding that he and his team would let fans know about any changes to future performances.
“Please keep our road family in your prayers and I promise to keep you updated in the days to follow,” he wrote. “God bless our medics and local and state officials for their quick response and incredible service.”
Hardy’s fiancée, Caleigh Ryan, posted about the accident in an Instagram story, sharing a photo of her and Hardy holding hands after the crash.
“Thank you all so so much for all of the prayers and well wishes. I’m thanking God with all of my heart that I’m able to hold his hand right now,” she wrote.
She also shared an update about the others involved in the accident.
“Michael, Tanner, and Noah are ok, thank God,” she wrote. “They suffered some injuries, but Ricky still very much needs everyone’s prayers. It really is a miracle that everyone is alive.”
She appeared to be referring to her fiancé, whose full name is Michael Wilson Hardy, videographer and photographer Tanner Gallagher, tour manager Noah Brown and their bus driver, whose name is given on Instagram as Ricky Hudson.
Hardy's sister, Madison Hardy Dennis, also shared a moving message on Instagram .
"We could have lost them all last night," she wrote. "Please send your healing prayers up for Michael, Tanner, Noah, and especially Ricky his bus driver. Life is so fragile; cherish your loved ones."
Gallagher shared a graphic photo in his Instagram story of his bruised face following the crash, saying he had suffered a “broken foot, broken ribs,” and a punctured lung.
Country Thunder, the music festival where Hardy performed Saturday, shared a supportive message on Twitter, writing, “HARDY and his crew have become close members of our festival family, and we are praying for full recoveries for everyone involved in last night’s accident.”
Bristol Motor Speedway also shared a message of support, tweeting, “please keep our friends HARDY and his road crew in your thoughts and prayers for a full and swift recovery.”

So if you guys could please pray for him, that would be greatly appreciated…he got a good report tonight, but he needs all the love and all the prayers that he can get.”

3 dead, dozens injured as tour bus carrying about 50 people crashes on Pennsylvania highway
Three people are dead and dozens suffered minor to severe injuries during a Sunday night bus crash along a Pennsylvania interstate, state police said.
The two-vehicle crash took place just before 11:50 p.m. ET on Interstate 81 in Dauphin County's Lower Paxton Township , near the state capital of Harrisburg.
The wreck involved a 2005 tour bus carrying about 50 people and a 2016 Honda CRV, Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement online.
According to a preliminary incident report, the bus was traveling south on I-81 and was navigating a curve when it came upon the Honda stopped along the highway in the right lane of traffic.
The bus exited the north side of the roadway, struck an embankment and flipped, troopers wrote in the report. The right rear roof area of the bus struck the CRV.
Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
Troopers said the remaining people on the bus suffered injuries ranging from minor to severe and were taken to hospitals.
The Honda's occupants were taken a hospital to be treated for moderate injuries. The report did not say how many people were in the Honda or why it was stopped along the interstate.
The identity of the victims and the destination of the bus are being withheld until the victim's next of kin are notified, police said.
A photo from the scene shows the bus on its side along the interstate berm near a set of brush and tall trees.

Josh Turner Breaks Silence After Deadly Tour Bus Crash: 'It's a Struggle to Put into Words'
A tour bus carrying Turner's road crew crashed on Sept. 18, leaving seven of the passengers injured and one dead
Josh Turner is asking his fans to “keep praying” after a tour bus carrying his road crew crashed earlier this month, leaving seven of the passengers injured and one dead.
The country star, 41, broke his silence on Tuesday about the fatal incident, writing on Facebook, “As I try to write this I don’t know what to say. It’s a struggle to put into words the devastation and grief that our road family is trying to process.”
“We lost a beloved member of our team, David Turner,” Turner continued. “He was like a brother to so many in this industry and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Please continue to keep David’s family in your prayers.”
“All of our crew suffered significant injuries and many have long roads to recovery. I would ask that you give them privacy during this time.”
Turner went on to share that a GoFundMe page has been created in hopes of raising funds to cover the medical costs for the surviving crew and funeral arrangements for David.
“Your prayers have been felt,” Turner continued. “Please keep praying.”
According to multiple reports , the bus was leaving the Vina Robles Amphitheater in Paso Robles, California, after wrapping up a concert for the country musician, when it crashed off of Highway 46 near Shandon.
Turner and his band were not on the bus, according to a tweet from the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department.
California Highway Patrol told KSBY News that, for unknown reasons, the driver left the roadway and drove 20 yards before the bus fell from an 80-foot cliff.
Two passengers — one of whom died at the scene — were ejected from the vehicle. Several other passengers suffered significant injuries from the plunge. Authorities say two were airlifted to a hospital with major injuries and the remaining five were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
“Josh Turner and his road family have suffered a devastating loss,” the singer’s rep told PEOPLE in a statement. “Please keep the crew, band and Josh in your thoughts and prayers.”
The Fire Department shared on Twitter that they would “be at [the] scene several hours for investigation and clean up.”
According to KSBY , CHP has ruled out drugs or alcohol as the cause of the crash and will be impounding the bus to see if there were any mechanical issues. They are also looking into whether the driver, who is believed to be in his 50s, suffered any medical issues that could have caused the crash.
The tour bus was headed to Washington State where Turner had his next scheduled performance at the Central Washington State Fair on Friday, Sept. 20. His rep told PEOPLE that all remaining shows in September will be rescheduled for a later date.

The fire broke out of the bus in the westbound lanes of the highway between Nob Hill Road and Pine Island Road.
Cellphone video from witnesses showed the moments after the fire broke out, with the bus completely engulfed in flames and thick black smoke rising into the air.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said there were around 50 passengers on board but all evacuated and there were no injuries.
Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed all westbound lanes closed as Davie Fire Rescue crews doused the bus with water. Some of the lanes later reopened but not before the closure caused major delays.
The double-decker bus appeared to have been completely destroyed by the fire. The passengers could be seen standing on the side of the highway nearby.
The cause of the fire was unknown. FHP officials said they were arranging to have a Broward County bus assist with transporting the passengers.

Tour bus with 48 on board catches fire on I-595 in Davie, causing hours-long WB closure; no injuries reported
DAVIE, FLA. (WSVN) - Crews have extinguished a fire that erupted on a tour bus which led to the hours-long closure of the westbound lanes of Interstate 595 near Nob Hill Road.
Davie Fire Rescue units responded to the bus fire just before 3 p.m. on Friday.
7Skyforce captured firefighters as they tackled the flames that ate through what it could of the bus, leaving only a skeleton of it left over.
Crews were able to knock down the blaze on the double decker bus that had 48 people on board at the time it ignited.
The tourists on the bus ran out of the vehicle to avoid getting burned. They were later picked up.
As the tourists stood on the side of the road for hours, first responders handed them water bottles to keep them hydrated.
No injuries have been reported.
Video shared with 7News by viewers shows black smoke and flames from the bus fire.
Neighbors told 7News that it was a scary sight for them to see.
“We heard it. It shook the house,” said one neighbor. “I could hear something blew up on the highway.”
“Thank God, thank God,” said Joi Patterson, a nearby neighbor when she learned there were no injuries.
Patterson said she heard the commotion on the highway.
“We were in the house and playing with the kids, and all of a sudden, we heard an explosion. It sounded like a big boom,” said Patterson.
“It was really scary. All I could think about is, ‘Oh, my God, I don’t know who was on there, I hope it was empty, I hope they got off if there were people on there,'” said Renee Thomas.
Thomas and other neighbors, like Patterson, said they heard multiple popping noises.
“We suspect, one of my neighbors suspected, that it could be the tires,” said Thomas. I can only imagine how terrifying it might have been for the people that were on there.”
“I saw flames up above the wall, I was like, ‘Holy crap,’ and the smoke, the smoke was horrid. It’s, like, didn’t know what was going on for awhile,” said Patterson.
The westbound lanes were back open to traffic by 4:45 p.m.
But during the hours-long closure, traffic stretched all the way back to Interstate 95.
“I think it’s crazy. We had tons of people directed down this road because you couldn’t get through [State Road] 84 and everything,” said Patterson.
The bus was hooked up to a tow truck and towed away.
It remains unclear what started the fire.

All westbound lanes of the highway were closed around 3 p.m. as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.
At one point, the double-decker tour bus from Miami Tours, a company out of Miami Beach, was seen completely engulfed in flames.
Police said around 50 passengers were able to evacuate the bus. They waited under tents on the side of the highway for several hours until another bus could come and pick them up.
One of the passengers on that bus was Fillippo Muzifalconi, an Italian tourist.
He says a passing car signaled to the driver that something was wrong and the driver then pulled over.
“The driver immediately opened the door and we ran out,” said Muzifalconi. “The driver, I think he was a hero. He got out of the bus as the last person, waiting for everyone.”
The fire has since been extinguished.
Authorities said no injuries were reported.
Muzifalconi believes it could have ended much worse. The final passengers stepped off that bus just before it became fully engulfed.
“It was already full of smoke,” he said. “The last people going out, they were really in a difficult situation.”
The tourists on that bus told Local 10 News they were offered a full refund for their trip.

50 walk away from burning double-decker bus on I-595 in Davie
By Mauricio Maldonado , Nikiya Carrero
Updated on: April 26, 2024 / 11:15 PM EDT / CBS Miami
MIAMI - About 50 people are lucky to be alive Friday afternoon after the double-decker bus they were in caught fire, shutting down the westbound lanes of I-595 in Davie.
It happened before 3 p.m. near Nob Hill Road.
CBS News Miami's Nikiya Carrero interviewed two of the tourists who say they were headed to the Everglades, but they never made it.
Edward McElduff, visiting from the UK, said "It was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I started thinking about my fiancé and my wedding that I got coming up. Sort of started accepting defeat." McElduff, along with his colleagues, decided to take a break from the World Finance Forum and take a trip to see alligators when the unimaginable happened.
Lewis Chandler, also visiting from the UK, said "It's just one of those things that would never happen or ever happen to you and then all of sudden you find yourself running off a bus on the freeway."
The group got on the bus at 305 Lincoln Road on South Beach where Miami Tours is located.
About 40 minutes into the drive, they noticed smoke.
"Then, about 10 minutes later, we noticed we were being pulled over on the freeway. And it was at that moment we noticed something more serious was going on."
The group said the driver did not give them any instructions, so they took matters into their own hands.
Calmly, exiting one by one, but the door on the bus was against the guard on the shoulder.
"We had been pulled over so far that you had to climb over the shoulder to get out of the door," said Chandler.
Both men said they were two unsung heroes who assisted the entire group.
No injuries were reported.
Images from Chopper 4 showed a charred skeleton of a chartered bus on the emergency lane of an empty highway.
It is not clear what may have started the fire.
The bus was eventually towed away from the scene, as lanes started to reopen.
Traffic was affected for miles.

Several members of Shania Twain’s tour crew were hospitalized on Wednesday in Canada after one crew bus and one truck were involved in a rollover, The Post can confirm.
“One crew bus and one truck from the ‘Shania Twain – Queen Of Me’ tour were involved in a highway accident driving between Winnipeg and Saskatoon, Canada,” Maverick Management told The Post in a statement.
“Multiple vehicles encountered dangerous driving conditions due to inclement weather.” The statement continued, “Members of the production crew who require medical attention have been taken to nearby hospitals.”
“We are incredibly thankful to the emergency services teams for their quick response and ongoing support,” Twain’s management said. “We ask for patience as we look after our touring family.”
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police issued a statement about a coach bus with Tennessee license plates rolling over on Highway 1 at around 7 a.m. CT Wednesday morning, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation .
It has been confirmed that the “Man, I Feel Like a Woman” singer, who is from Ontario, was not on the bus at the time of the accident.
The “Queen of Me” tour, which is promoting her first album in six years of the same name, is scheduled to stop in Saskatoon on Thursday.
It is unclear whether that show will go on.
Dwayne Stone, the fire chief for the Town of Grenfell, told Global News that crews were called out to the crash shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday and had to break windows to free 13 people trapped in the bus.
Stone did not believe any of their injuries were life-threatening.

Covington police identify bike rider killed in bus crash
COVINGTON, Ky. (WXIX) - Covington police have released the name of the bike rider who was killed in a crash with a charter bus Thursday morning.
Jonathon Hussing, 26, died at around 9 a.m. when he was hit by the bus at the Martin Luther King Boulevard and Scott Street intersection. He was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he later died.
Jamie Oliver says she and her sister were driving to work when they saw the crash happen.
She says that traffic was slow, so she thinks the biker had thought he had time to make it across the street.
“It was through a slow traffic stop, but then it started going full force as it pushed on the gas and knocked him off,” Oliver said. “They did get off the bus and check on him, but he wasn’t moving, and they went under there and just pulled him out because his body was by the tire.”
Bus riders say they were coming from Mason City, Iowa, and were supposed to be touring the city before leaving Thursday night.
After the crash, the bus riders went to the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption until police let them get their belongings off the charter bus. They were then picked up by a different bus around 1:30 p.m.
Oliver believes there is a safety concern at the intersection of MLK and Scott Street. She hopes city leaders will look into adding a better crosswalk.
“It is a little bit, like I said, very busy and late in the afternoon after people get off work. Maybe adding better signs and readings because I think that’s where the mix up happened, the light changed so quick and he went going the same time as the bus,” Oliver said.
Police have not identified the bike rider at this time.
Officers say the intersection was closed for hours but has since reopened.
Anyone with information about this incident or who captured it on camera is urged to call detectives at 859-292-2234 or Cincinnati/NKY Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.

Universal Studios tram tossed “multiple” riders to the ground, accident investigators say

A tram vehicle at Universal Studios Hollywood threw “multiple” riders to the ground after it struck a guardrail near props from the “Jurassic Park” film franchise in an accident that is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
Details of the accident that took place Saturday night — amid the 60th anniversary of the attraction — remain sketchy, but the CHP said the agency has determined that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash that injured 15 park visitors.
For the record:
3:01 p.m. April 22, 2024 An earlier version of this article said 15 riders on the Universal Studios Hollywood tram attraction were thrown to the ground. The California Highway Patrol said “multiple” riders were thrown to the ground and that a total of 15 were injured.
The tram was driving through the storied Universal Studios back lot shortly after 9 p.m. when the crash occurred, according to authorities.
The linked tram cars passed by a set of props from the “Jurassic Park” film franchise when the tram driver turned onto Avenue M and for some unknown reason the last car in the procession collided with the metal guardrail on the right side, the CHP said. This caused the tram to “tilt and eject multiple passengers from the tram,” authorities said in a news release.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department received a call for service shortly after 9 p.m. for the crash and 15 passengers were transported to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene but the CHP is the lead agency, a Universal Studios spokesperson said.
At least 14 hurt as MTA bus is part of four-vehicle ‘rollover collision’ in South L.A.
Firefighters and paramedics were on the scene and had assessed and treated 14 people, including bus riders and other vehicle passengers.

“Our thoughts continue to be with the guests who were involved, and we are thankful that based on agency reports, the injuries sustained were minor,” Universal Studios said in a statement.
The theme park is working closely with authorities as Universal Studios continues its “review of the incident and safety remains a top priority.”
The Studio Tour tram ride, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this week, will continue to operate with a modified route and the theme park will reinforce its “operational and safety protocols.”
The status of the injured passengers was unclear as of Monday.
In many ways, the tram ride came to define the theme park.
Over the years, countless riders have enjoyed close encounters with a robotic shark depicting the blood-thirsty animal in the movie “Jaws,” a terrifying stop outside the Bates Motel from the film classic “Psycho” and a harrowing escape from the clutches of King Kong.

Newer film franchises have joined the tour, including a stroll through a suburban neighborhood wasted by aliens from the 2005 film “War of the Worlds” to a western-themed sideshow from Jordan Peele’s 2022 movie “Nope.”
The tram tour got its start in 1964 when Universal Studios executives noticed that food sales at the studio commissary shot up after local tour buses were allowed past the studio gates to let fans get a glimpse of the back lot movie sets and props.
The first iteration of the attraction were the pink-and-white Glamour Trams, which carried about 38,200 riders in the first year. Passengers paid $2.50 for a two-and-a-half hour tour that included stops to see a stunt show and a movie makeup exhibition.

How the Universal Studios tram tour defined the modern theme park
The most important theme park ride ever created? It may just be the Universal Studios tram tour, which dates to the silent film era. Once primarily a behind-the-scenes tour, the trek has evolved to define the modern theme park.
Aug. 3, 2023
Later renamed the Universal Studios Studio Tour, the trams have since endured real life fires, labor strife, a series of expansions and at least one fatal accident.
The theme park launched a renovation project in 2022 to begin converting the diesel-hydraulic powered vehicles to run on electricity to reduce emissions. It is not clear if the tram that struck the guard rail was a newer electric vehicle or an older version.
This is not the first time an accident happened at the theme park. In 1986, a park employee was run over by the tram during a special Halloween “Fright Nights” show . Paul Rebalde, 20, was stationed on a parked tram filled with mannequins dressed to look like corpses, the Sheriff’s Department said at the time.
While in costume, Rebalde was to leap from among the mannequins on the parked tram and frighten people passing on moving trams, but was trapped between the third and fourth sections of one of the four-section moving trams and was run over and dragged to his death, according to authorities. The Halloween-themed attraction was paused for several years and later rebranded “Halloween Horror Nights.”
More recently, a stunt performer was hospitalized after performing in the “Waterworld” show in January 2023 . The performer was set on fire shortly before taking a leap off a tower in the show’s finale. The “Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular” show is inspired by the 1995 Kevin Costner film and opened months after the movie’s debut.
